The furniture is terrible quality and often arrives stained or damaged. I ordered a sofa and matching chair. The sofa arrived with a stain and started losing its shape after two months. The chair I ordered a few weeks later. The first one that arrived was a completely different color from the couch and had stains everywhere. It was swamped out and now it is more similar in color but slightly yellow and the fabric is different. Since the whole ordeal took so long and the shipping of the chair took four months I am now unable to return or swap out the sofa. Customer service is rude and unhelpful. Do not shop from here.

After doing some research looking for a quality tulip table I discovered this site on pinterest and it was one of the few to have a nice quartz option. They promised it was in stock and they could deliver it in under a month, so I placed my order skeptically (previous reviews werent amazing). It came in 2 weeks, and it was exactly what I was hoping for, so Im happy it all worked out.

Giving 2 stars because the product selection and ordering experience was good. At the end of May, I found a gorgeous dining room table on the France and Son website. I chatted with the salesperson and even received a new customer discount. I was thrilled and went for white glove delivery. As I waited for the table, I contacted customer support to clarify the details of delivery. The team was always professional and responsive. When the table arrived, the delivery person claimed that it was doorstep delivery and tried to leave. I clarified that it was supposed to be white glove and assembled for me. He made some calls and came back to bring the table up to my apartment and put it together. After assembly, he quickly left before I could examine the table. I was very upset to see that my new wooden table had 2 CRACKS in it. One of which looks like it had been clearly dropped on its side.I immediately called the store to file a complaint. They sent me a Google form to file the claim. It took 2 weeks to get a response. I called in that 2-week period but they said they only handle claims in writing so not to call. I finally got a response and they offered a 10% refund. The piece arrived with damage. How do I know that it was not returned by someone else and I got stuck with damaged goods? Ive asked for a new table or full refund. A 10% refund is not acceptable for receiving something significantly damaged. I am still waiting to hear back.Update:France & Son covered the costs of repairing the table. I found a local carpenter who was able to fix both cracks. I had to front the costs and submit the receipt. I received my reimbursement within 2 weeks. The cost of the repair far exceeded the 10% France & Son tried to offer me for delivering a damaged item. I am glad this is resolved but this was not the best shopping experience.

Customer service and sales reps very very quick to quote and follow up on the quote to make the sales but once I placed the order, I had to chase customer service for days to get updates. TV Console and the Stool they delivered from the warehouse had defects and paint. I filed a claim for a brand new product that they delivered with defects and they denied my replacement request and after that, they completely went silent. The sofa that was in stock and was supposed to be delivered in 2-4 weeks is now supposed to deliver in 3-6 weeks. Its been already 3 weeks and they still cant give me a date when the sofa will be delivered. Customer service on the phone is mostly rude and non-responsive via emails and forms.For such expensive products, I am extremely disappointed by the quality and service they deliver. Dont waste your money and time on this store.

I wish I could give this business zero stars. I wish I had researched them on the BBB. Their reviews are horrible.Last April I placed an order for two executive desks for our business. I was told they were in stock and that we would receive them within four weeks. In June, I emailed customer service and was informed that manufacturer expects the items to ship at the end of June, and I should check back at the beginning of July.In July, I again exchanged several emails with customer service and was told that the items would ship at the end of July. Check back again in August. I continued this cycle for two more months. No one can give me an answer other than we are going by what the manufacturer states. Unfortunately, I based my purchasing decision on what Customer Service at France & Sons stated. They have over $4000 of my funds for 6 months. Today, I submitted a written request for an immediate refund.Stay away.

Excellent customer service! I purchased a concrete TV stand that was unfortunately damaged during shipment. France and Son filed a claim with the carrier and my replacement TV stand was delivered shortly after. Very quick to resolve issue with excellent communication. Highly recommended.

I fell in love with the Modern Baton Chandelier - Large after seeing it posted on Cass DiMiccos Instagram account and was excited to order it. After receiving it and assembling it, I noticed that the centre rods were noticeably bent and appeared defective. I emailed Customer Support and after sending several pictures and waiting weeks for a reply, they said they could not determine the issue with the product and I would have to ship it back for assessment. If they didnt find anything wrong with it, I would be charged $200+ CAD for the shipping cost. Thankfully I didnt go this route and continued to escalate, only for them to deny there was anything wrong with the product and they put the blame on me and said I must have assembled it incorrectly. F&S then said the case was closed and there was nothing further they would do. Fast forward a few weeks later, one of the glass globes quite literally broke off the end on its own, without even being touched. I am shocked at the poor quality of this piece and the terrible customer service I received. As someone who has worked in corporate retail for over 7 years and for the biggest retailer in the world, I know this is not a sufficient level of customer service and France and Son Canada does not stand by their claim of Satisfied and happy. Thats how we want you to be. Beware ordering this product or anything from here as you may be blamed for the issues relating to the poor quality of products they sell.

My favorite line from Spencer regarding the companys failure to issue a refund for three months after cancelling a product that wasnt actually in stock in spite of the website representations, Well, the invoice just got lost. You know how that goes. Oh, and with respect to the chairs that were also in stock but somehow delayed almost a year, Spencer would not commit to a reasonable time frame for cancellation and a refund. Careful - dont threaten any type of legal action - he will just hang up on you. There are several other vendors who carry the same lines - I had very good luck and CUSTOMER SERVICE with James Antony Home in Dallas, Kathy Kuo Home and Burke Decor.

Their sales team assured me that the items we planned to purchase were in stock and would arrive in 6-8 weeks. We purchased the items and our credit card was charged. After 6 weeks I followed up and was told that our order was still on track to ship by the 8 week mark. At 8 weeks I followed up and they said it is due to ship any day - it should leave our facilities by the end of the week. A couple more weeks go by and I followed up again and the response is that the soonest we should expect to receive the order is October... 6 months after our initial order date!We purchased these chairs for our new home largely because the turn around time was reasonable. France and Sons sales team significantly over promised, their customer service team takes more than a week to respond to emails, and my prepayment for items that are now 4 months delayed is fraudulently financing their operations. They have made no efforts to even attempt to make this right.I will never order from them again and actively advise other consumers to go elsewhere.

Wonderful first time experience with this company! I had my eye on a rattan cabinet for a while, but then saw it wasnt available so I contacted them. They let me know that it was coming back in stock within a month and gave me specific date it would ship by. I read about issues with other companies where people were promised the furniture would be delivered by a certain time, but was delayed 6 weeks or more. I bought this to hold items for our new baby due soon and wanted to make sure I received it by a certain time. France and Son assured me they are the makers of the furniture so the date expected to ship is accurate. They were right and actually this shipped to me sooner than expected. It came all put together and is in great condition. Its sturdy, beautiful, and looks just like the picture. I also bugged customer service a few times to ask them measurements on the shelves so I could plan baskets to put on the shelves. They always responded quickly and gave me the info I needed. I would definitely buy from this company again. Very happy!

Renovating my home this pandemic has been a struggle to say the least. Delays delays delays. Everything is delayed. I chatted with Astrid to see what I could get ASAP after the majority of my fixtures were delayed elsewhere. They pointed le to their quickship selection and I took their word for it that o could get everything by the end of the week on a rush. Everything came in time for my electrician and worked out! They went above and beyond here. Literally one of the only smooth transactions in my entire project.

Ordered in stock chairs. Never got a delivery date for 3 weeks! I went to their store and they said they can’t help me and I need to speak to customer care. I called customer care and they said oh let me check what happened. Looks like they forgot about my order. Then my order was on the way in 3 days. Then even though the shipping was supposed to doorstep and it does say so on the invoice too, the guy just leaves down in the lobby, unattended. When I called the driver to bring that heavy package upstairs, he says oh we only do curbside delivery. Unless one can’t read English, the invoice and the paper he left behind too says doorstep delivery. I mean I loved the store but the after sales is disappointing. You guys are not doing us a favor and not delivering us things free. So we would request a bit more attention. I am not sure that I am even excited to have these chairs now!

Dont order from this company!! They sent me a damaged and defective $1500 cabinet and then offered me $150 to keep it. I didnt want to keep it or have it replaced because the doors dont open properly, and I didnt want another one with the same issues. They then said it would cost me $400 to return it, and that was the only way I could get a refund. Just horrible customer service - they dont care at all. Ill never use them again and will use Burke Decor and Lulu & Georgia only- as theyve corrected issues like this previously and actually want to retain customers. I feel completely taken advantage of.

BUYER BEWARE, unless you want disappointing customer service and a potentially DEFECTIVE, but expensive, TIPPING DINING ROOM TABLE. After all the great reviews on here, we were so excited to get this table. But let me tell you how excitement turned into a nightmare experience, very quickly. First, the product was said to be IN STOCK on site and confirmed to be by a F&S representative (we have the records). So we cancelled our order from an existing (and very well known) store, to give our business to France and Son who PROMISED it was in stock. We quickly regretted that - as the company lied - it was not in stock, and showed up at our door over 2 months later. The table finally arrives and although it looks beautiful, it literally TILTS with the smallest push onto the edge of the table. I was SO shocked because all I can think of is WHAT A SAFETY HAZARD, and not to mention the tipped drinks or broken glass that would result from someone just simply pushing on the edge to help themselves get up from the table - So Something MUST be wrong, right? We contact France and Son, and they tell us This product does not meet the criteria for damage or defect and is therefore ineligible for filing a claim. So TILTING of a $2000+ table is your idea of PRODUCT QUALITY? We are pretty sure the table is titling because the base doesnt have enough sand in it - as other sites weigh it in at 400lbs. Ours is NOT 400lbs, but F&S did not acknowledge. BUYER BEWARE - ORDER FROM ELSEWHERE.

Have the good taste to take your business elsewhere. Purchased a chair several months ago and had the entire frame collapse. Was told by France & Son that I was outside the sixty day warranty. When I asked about replacement parts, they advised me the company was out of business “so unfortunately I was stuck.” I was told by a different customer service rep that she would call locations to try and source a replacement chair for me, which was promising, yet she never followed up. Premium brands generally value their customers. I must have mistaken France & Son for a premium brand.**Following-up on France and Sons response below: My initial outreach was on Feb 24, 2021, within one year of the purchase. It would appear from the response below that had the manufacturer still been in business, I would have been supported in my claim. France and Sons response implies that as a consumer, its my responsibility to evaluate the manufacturers long-term viability. Unreasonable, and a further testament to the one star provided.

I purchased a marble coffee table on December 23, 2020 and it just arrived on January 25th in perfect condition.Initially, I was a bit concerned after making this purchase because of some of the negative reviews on Google and Yelp.com. However, I am happy to report that I had a very positive experience with this company. Furthermore, I typically don’t post reviews but I felt that it was important that I share my purchasing experience with you. France & Sons provided the most competitive price point for this coffee table. All three customer service interactions were pleasant, and each time I called the customer service representative provided valid information and were very supportive and helping me with my questions. I chose to go with free FedEx delivery versus white glove delivery, and the 175 pound coffee table arrived in perfect, flawless condition. I am very pleased my purchase and I absolutely love this new addition to my living room. You can trust this furniture distributor. They are trustworthy, supportive and an upstanding company.

Horrible experience with this company so far. I ordered my couch and 2 accent chairs months ago and was told I would get them in April. Then I was told it would be delivered end of April, beginning of May. Now they are telling me beginning of June??? Where is my furniture? Please save yourself the headache and frustration by avoiding this company. They also have terrible customer service! Noone knows anything about the shipment, delivery dates when you call. The last time I called they literally hung up the phone when I asked them where my couches were. I don’t even know if I am ever getting my couches. I relied on these reviews but I wanted to share my experience to help other people. Honestly, just order from other companies.

If you are in Canada, please do not order from them. I ordered a bed and a night table about 4 weeks ago (yet to be delivered) They had a sale on July 4th weekend where price dropped by 25% on both items. however, when I sent them an email to request a price adjustment, they would not reply to my email (3 emails) and finally I spoke to 2 different people today. First I was told they did not receive any of my emails. then they said price cannot be adjusted because price drop is on their US website and not Canadian which was not correct on July 4th, but I cannot prove it now.Even though order is not yet delivered, I cannot cancel as I will be charged 16% cancellation fee (which I was not told about even once). All I can hope now is that item is not defective as I now know that this is not a very ethical company and I will never honor their warranty or return policy.

The owner responded to my first review and I would like to respond to their response but I cant figure out how, so I am posting again. I purchased the Hendrix chandelier, which is essentially metal tubes that screw into each other. There is nothing fragile, large or special about it in terms of shipping logistics. It collapses for ease of shipping and the box is lightweight. I paid $40 on the shipping when I purchased it, which was already on the high end. Now that I want to return it, the company is saying they will either: deduct $123 for round trip shipping (to cover both the cost of originally shipping the item to me and the return shipping, even though I have already paid for the original shipping), or I can ship it to them myself, at my own expense, in which case they will deduct $64 to cover the original shipping costs from when they sent it to me. What??!?! I paid $40 for the original shipping, which is more than the actual cost to ship it to me. I would just warn people to look at the negative reviews here and on yelp and consider shopping elsewhere. Lulu and Georgia sells the same items for slightly more, but their policies and prices are transparent and listed on their website.Also, my experience was that it takes days for a customer service rep to respond to my emails and when they do, the information is confusing and not relevant. However, I notice the owner is quick to respond to public google reviews defensively within hours.

I have a contracting company and this place is just my type of style! It is perfect I have been into so many stores and nothing really ever catches my eye, but everything in this store does. It’s mid century style is very upbeat and classy. Not to mention, customer service is excellent always helping you with your budget, so generous and smart. I ordered chairs from this company but they shipped the wrong ones. Getting the order corrected took many follow-up emails and over a month because the chairs I actually ordered were out of stock (they were shown as in stock on the website when I made the purchase).When I did finally receive the chairs, the seats (which were screwed into the frame) were covered in protective plastic. When I tried to pull it off, the plastic was left sticking out at the sides of the seat. I asked the delivery man if he knew how to remove it, but he said he’d never seen anything packaged that way. I emailed customer service twice to see if they had a suggestion, but they never responded. I will likely need to unscrew the seat to get the plastic off completely which seems like an unnecessarily risky way to unpack furniture.The chairs are lovely, but as others have stated, the customer service is disappointing at this price point. I was happy they made the order right eventually, but it took a lot of follow-up and I will probably look elsewhere for my next purchase.

Absolutely loved this store!! I was looking for new furniture to decorate my house, everything I found there was inexpensive and super nice quality. It’s hard to find nice furniture for a good price but I had no problems when I visited France & Son. The customer service was awesome, they helped me with everything I needed and knew the answer to all my questions. I also appreciated that all the staff was wearing face masks, they definitely prioritize health and safety. I have recommended this store to do many of my friends and family and they loved it as well. Can’t wait to shop there again and find more awesome pieces for my house !!

Avoid this company at all costs or it will cost you. France and Sons will portray to have your item in stock but after placing your order you’ll learn that’s not the case. They will not cancel your order and instead fulfill it when they receive the item, ship it to you and then extort you to pay an unreasonable amount of money to ship it vs you paying to ship it back and getting a refund for the item.

I have not yet received the items I ordered, but I just wanted to say how responsive and helpful the instant messaging function is on the France and Son website. Im used to those thing just being bots that dont help you at all, but a woman named Astrid helped me within minutes and rectified my situation perfectly and very satisfactorily. I cant wait to receive my items (an orange Mid Century Arden Wall Clock & a Classic Mid Century Ball Clock) and have full confidence they will be of very high quality and just what Im looking for. I was never able to get a true update on the whereabouts of my other order, but France and Son immediately responded confirming my order is in stock and will ship quickly. I got this chair from France an son for my new at home work space. I was looking for an office/computer chair but was tired of the same old chairs with wheel. I walked into France and Son and BOOM. There this chair was, so comfy and the perfect height! I even checked other places and saw nothing like this. it’s such a unique style. France and son really does have great things! If I could give them 0 stars, I would. This was the most horrible customer service experience I have ever had. After paying $300 for white glove delivery, the company’s driver drove onto my lawn. After spinning their wheels into our lawn and damaging it, they had to call a tow truck company to have their truck removed. The tow truck driver noted that their tire was flat.On top of that, they delivered a damaged couch. The driver told me that I should keep it until they could deliver a replacement. Upon notifying the company of the damaged product and damage to my lawn, France and Son Customer Support Supervisor Tyler told us we needed to pay their tow truck bill before they would even talk to us about the damaged couch they delivered. There wasnt even an opportunity to discuss the situation or explain our side of the story. They refused to deal with the defective product or our customer service situation until we addressed this truck situation. This is the first time Ive been extorted by a retail business but it will certainly be the last.It has been six weeks and the company has not returned any of our calls or emails. In the last correspondence, they stated that their driver did what he was told to do. But, of course we never told their driver to drive onto our lawn. Further, their driver took the liberty to drive the entire length of my driveway, which I never asked them to do nor did they need to do that.They have been completely unreasonable. This experience has been a complete waste of time, money and a great deal of stress. We just want to return this couch but weve been abandoned. This is a hard lesson in only making purchases from reputable stores like DWR, Crate and Barrel, and CB2. Avoid this company at all costs.

Pretty rough return process- after placing an order on Monday I cancelled my order online on Friday and followed up to confirm via phone call on Sunday. Come Monday morning, the delivery truck is at my door giving me chairs I not longer AND I’m being charged an extra fee. This definitely isn’t putting the customer first; having the inventory / delivery system completely divorced from customer service likely means this happens a lot. I wouldn’t check this place out unless you are 1000% sure you know what you want. In my case, the chairs I wanted were not in the showroom and I got cold feet about buying them sight-unseen.

I’ve never written a review before, but I felt compelled to respond after reading about so many other customers who have experienced the same unethical service. I cancelled an order- 2 days after purchase after they were unable to price match. I called to confirm they were able to cancel and that I wouldn’t be charged a cancellation fee before ordering from another vender. I was assured I wouldn’t be charged and that they had already written the vendor the day we spoke. I was just to wait a week or so before I saw reimbursement.After not being reimbursed I called back to follow up and it turns out my order was on a delivery truck to their warehouse and I was never made aware that my cancellation request was not honored. They claim it’s because the vendor couldn’t cancel, but they gave me dates that showed they waited a day to request the cancellation- and my stools were shipped the following day. The craziest part is they would have shipped the counter stools to my house without ever telling me my cancel request wasn’t honored and then I’m sure, like so many other reviewers stated, been charged to send them back!All in all I was charged a cancellation fee- which is a total scam. I would have never cancelled and purchased from another vendor if I wasn’t assured that I would not be charged for the chairs or the cancellation fee. It’s clear they will get a dime however they can get one.

Just received and assembled the lamp I ordered from France and Son. The packing was meticulous and the lamp replica is lovely. There was approx. 1 week delay in receiving the shipment and the lamp came without a bulb (important since the fitting is slightly narrow), hence one less star. But all in all, a fine addition to my home office.

So this company has to be a scam.Strange behaviour that they collected my money before even confirming that they would be shipping out my product. Most retailers do not take full payments until a package is ready to be delivered to the client. I placed an order for a product weeks ago, and it is a smaller inexpensive product.Everything being said to me in emails is barely relevant, and only boasting about who their customer service team is, which I whole heartedly do not care about, and made it clear I just wanted a simple answer to if my product was being shipped out or not. Still barely a relevant response. Ive placed the order early Nov 2020 and I have a feeling come the new year, I still wont receive anything. Ignore this place at all costs. I also have an inkling their positive reviews are most likely fabricated.
