It was easy to text and make an appointment the day of, and I had a lovely time exploring and chatting with the owner. It’s a marvelous collection. Appointments are required just so they can be sure to be in when you want to visit (and because this is no thrift shop!)

In my experience George is a flake. Over the years I have made appointments only to have him not show up and not answer his phone. I don’t live in NY so it is an inconvenience. He doesn’t seem like a very nice human being.

Outstanding 5-star service at George Glazer Gallery! They have amazing items and deliver first-class professional service in all aspects of the business. I was particularly impressed with the highest level of care given in the packing of fragile items - over-the-top multiple layers of protection - the way you want it to be done. Fear not! Every step of the process was smooth sailing. Friendly, knowledgeable, fair, honest -- simply terrific people to work with. Highly recommend.

So theres a reason they call this guy the globe guru. George has an unparalleled expertise in antique globes and cartography. He maintains the largest American globe collection in the world and probably knows more about cartography than anyone else on the planet. Globe manufacturers go to George for their own history. He also has a collection of Fine art, decorative arts, and a vast amount of obscurities. The gallery is chock-full of things to look at and can only be fully appreciated over multiple days due to the density of his arrangements. Unfortunately, it is open by appointment only but dont hesitate to call and schedule a walkthrough.

I can’t thank you enough for the Edison Standard Phonograph. It is the perfect addition to my collection. I also have to praise the way it was packed… Very carefully thought out packaging and it arrived in a timely manner. I have joined your mailing list and look forward to visiting your new gallery location, on my next visit to NYC.

I am so pleased with the needlepoint map I purchased. It is one of the best in my collection. The communication with the gallery was excellent and the framed map was very well packed and arrived quickly. I would most definitely work with this gallery again.

After three phone calls inquiring about a very expensive celestial print, I still have no answer on condition, availability or price. I’ve only heard a promise for a return call that never comes and two men who obviously don’t care about selling their prints. They both acted as if I was bothering them. Sorry guys, Ill leave you alone. Good luck with your business.

I have visited the Gallery numerous times over the years, most recently last week. The Gallery is a rare treasure, one of the best-kept secrets in New York. Serious antique collectors must check it out. Call ahead for an appointment.

First time to purchase from George Glazer Gallery. Im quite impressed with the efficient service considering that Im overseas. The three original hornbill paintings by Sandstrom are even more beautiful in person. Transaction was smooth, replies to queries were quick and cordial, packaging was secure and bullet-proof.Im looking forward to more bird paintings of Philippine species as they are available. Thank you, George Glazer and Jeffrey Denke. Great job, gentlemen!
