Im very happy that I hired Jane Henry Studios to repair a beautiful Biedermeier style dresser that I purchased for my wife recently. The dresser got chipped in several places when the people delivering it were careless as they carried it up a flight of stairs. Jane sent Stravy Hurst, whom she described as her best furniture repair specialist, to my apartment, and Stravy did a great job, so much so that, if you did not know where to look, you would not even be able to find the places where the dresser had been chipped. Stravy was a lot of fun to chat with while he worked. I have not met Jane Henry, but have enjoyed talking with her on the phone. I highly recommend this Studio.

A couple of years ago, Jane restored seven pieces of antique furniture for me. The pieces had serious issues and many people would have discarded them. She restored them to their original glory and finished them with a French wax that brought them to museum quality. They havent been polished in almost four years and yet look as if they were polished yesterday. I would highly recommend Jane, to anyone that has antique or quality furniture that is in need of repair. I have attached a picture of one of the pieces to give an idea of her craftsmanship.

My wooden canopy bed was damaged during a recent move. Jane was very good at getting me a quote quickly, and the numbers were very reasonable. She was able to come to my apartment for the repairs, and she was very professional and efficient. It only took 45 minutes for her to finish repairing a broken wooden canopy beam, and chip off my wooden bedpost. I am very pleased with the results. You can barely tell where the breaks were. I highly recommend using her for wooden furniture restoration, and would definitely contact her again if I need furniture repairs in the future!

I found a charcoal drawing amongst some old family papers that really should have been framed. Jane did an incredible job of cleaning and restoring it. Also, considering the fact the I know next to nothing about this sort of thing, I really valued the fact that Didnt mention anything about money until she knew that I had the piece back, and was satisfied with the work. Jane did an incredible job restoring my great-grandmothers table. It had carvings, missing molding and chipped pieces, splotchy varnish- pretty beat up. She completely understood what I needed, discussed options and pricing, and got it back to me quickly, and it looks better than I could have imagined. I cant even fathom how she made it look so good- entire missing chipped pieces somehow seamlessly integrated back into the grain of the wood, you would never know it was ever missing. Its unreal, and I love it. Her delivery team was courteous and prompt.

I reached out to Jane to inquire about fixing a hinge in a cabinet at my elderly mothers apartment. I had been having a very hard time, quite surprisingly, finding a contractor willing to come to my mothers apartment to fix this. Jane came over, was very courteous to my mother, and did a very meticulous job in fixing the hinge. Im very grateful, as my mother had been wanting this fixed for a very long time.

I took what I knew was a big risk. I entrusted the repair of a damaged piece of expensive furniture to someone I had never met. The decision ended up being a wise one. Not only was the repair perfect and completed on time, the transportation of the piece to and from my apartment was handled smoothly. One final point: Jane Henry is obviously very honest. By accident her bill was paid twice (my fault) and she returned the overpayment quickly. I couldnt be happier with the outcome.

Jane is the absolute best at what she does. I have taken everything from precious antiques to vintage finds to her. She truly loves what she does and it comes through in her work. So I broke a leg off of our dining room table to make it unstable and I was unable to fix it myself. A quick search found Jane, and she fixed it beautifully. She even arranged for pick up and delivery. We were so delighted that we followed up with three more pieces of furniture. With a cedar chest, Jane beautifully restored the carved decorations and refinished the entire piece, revealing the wood grain that had not been visible in eons. She restored a distressed leather table top, even repairing a deep cigarette burn. I am very happy with Jane s skill and imagination in repairing and restoring gilding, leather, wood carving, finishes and supporting structures.
