The owner greeted us & answered all our crazy questions about silver & flatware history. He was a wealth of knowledge and was happy to pull from case afer case as we wanted to look at the great items he offers. Its a must stop for silver lovers and historic info.

Love this place! Great prices and service. They repaired, then polished a silver piece I did not purchase from their store and completed everything the same day in a couple hours for a inexpensive price. I was able to find many options for wedding gifts at very reasonable prices. Customer service was excellent. They polished and gift wrapped everything! Such a nice shopping experience...I will return!

I looked for a hand engraver all over Texas and FINALLY found one here! I couldnt be more pleased. I had 4 silver sterling napkin rings engraved for my niece, nephew, daughter and son-in-law. Great service, beautiful work if you are looking for a hand engraver.

I purchased a beautiful gift for my friend from this place. The owner was very professional and patient as i kept on asking him to show me different items while selecting the gift. Because of their wonderful merchandise and excellent service, I am going back there to buy another item for myself before leaving New Orleans. I would highly recommend this place to anybody.

Staff was very helpful and did an amazing job of polishing some ancient, black hardware so brass looked as bright as 100 years ago. Very fast, professional service and craftsmanship at a very reasonable cost. A wonderful source for beautiful silver flatware, serving pieces, and gifts.

I was in this shop looking for a pickle castor and a Victorian cruet about two weeks ago. There was a man and woman working in here and neither acknowledged me Immediately. I told the guy what i was looking for and he replied the things I wanted were mass produced and were silver plated and he only specialized in sterling silver. I was going to educate him and explain both of the items I wanted are made in sterling which is what i was looking for but I chose to remain silent and look around. Obviously the guy is not very well versed on sterling silver as both items I wanted are made in sterling silver, which I found and purchased elsewhere. The store is neat and clean and has a fairly decent selection but do your research before going. Customer service advise -please take the time to know your customer and ask questions to understand what they are looking for and need.

What an amazing place to discover the old fashioned beauty of sterling silver flatware, serving pieces, baby items, gifts and more. The sterling pieces I have bought from “As You Like It” have helped me discover and connect to my family and Americans from the 19th and 20th century. The owner was very knowledgeable, helpful and low pressure during my shopping visits. I was glad to sell to them some old, damaged silver pieces and purchase pieces more to my interest and taste. The owner is bright, sophisticated and thoughtful, not snobbish, as one reviewer mistakenly noted. Open your mind to the beauty in American sterling silver pieces in this shop that you can show your family and friends, a lesson in American history.

The only reason I would give one star is simply because they are open. Their stock is perfectly fine if its your taste and price point. If youre getting something repaired WATCH OUT! They do not honor a quote.I recently took a piece in belonging to a client for a repair. It seemed minor to me as its not the first time Ive had a piece of silver straightened. I was quoted a price of between $400- 500, which seemed high but as it was one of a pair ( of candelabra) I agreed. When I went to pick them up I was presented with a bill for over $800. .. more than the purchase price of the pair. I was informed the piece had to be replated . I was neither consulted nor informed about this. I had already given the client the price. I would not have proceeded if I had been informed of the very large increase. The replating destroyed the original patination so the pair does not match. They offered no apologies and were quite rude when l complained. When I took the item out of the box it fell apart and had to go back to be further repaired.Im in business as well and a price quoted is the price. These people seem to think that they can present any kind of bill they wish.Note that the candelabra is still somewhat crooked. And I had to pay someone $100 to patinate the piece. Not a hard process but these alleged silver experts neither offered nor seemed to acknowledge any way to do this.Actually one of the worst experiences Ive had with repair in 40 years. Condescending and rude attitude.Ned Marshall
