The folks at this store know their wine, will not steer you wrong, and can get you almost anything.

2 stars only because the lady with the dreads is really nice but today is the second time that their is a guy with a really bad attitude and no good customer service.

I used to go to this place a lot when I lived in New Haven a few years ago and always had a great experience. The folks working there were friendly and knowledgable. However, last week when I went to pick up a couple of bottles of wine I got mansplained pretty hard. Since theyre not the gig in town, I dont think Ill go back.

Lovely, thoughtfully curated selection of wine! More than anything, this location is remarkable for its truly spectacular, generous people. They are, unequivocally, the best. Whether they are recommending a rose that pairs well with seafood, recounting global adventures, or supplying us with moving boxes (!!) the staff is exceptional.

Very friendly staff that picked some amazing wines, liquors and mixers for me. Everything is very well thought out as far as the selection goes. Highly recommended!

This place is a gem! Theres a great selection of wine, liquor, and beer. (They even have smoked beers that I cant find anywhere else!) Todd was really friendly and knowledgable about all sorts of alcoholic beverages! Definitely recommend this place!

Staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. They clearly love wine (and beer and spirits), always give good recommendations and never try to upsell you.Relatively small but comprehensive and well-curated selection. Unless youre a real connoisseur looking for something specific, the wine thief will have you covered. (And even then its worth a shot!)

Lovely and helpful staff, excellent wine selection which is continuously updated. You can catch some real gems here. I havent had Sardinian wine since I had been there last, but the convenience of finding it in East Rock is amazing

I dont know wine, the Wine Thief does. Tell them what youre looking for and your price range and they will provide. Limited dessert wine selection, but very good for any other kind of wine.

Worked with them on selecting and sourcing wine for our wedding. 20 cases later we (and our guests) were very satisfied, Tim and Clay were incredibly helpful throughout!

Even if you dont plan to buy anything, this is a cute place to visit. I came here two years ago to get a quick gift for a co-worker, and the prices seemed right. good inventory for a small shop. I believe in supporting small businesses when possible, and this place is worth a trip.
