Several months ago I brought my car to Precise Automotive to have my oil changed and for them to check out my front brakes. They said they would need the car the entire day, so I dropped the car off at 7am with the mechanic on duty. (I have never had a shop request to have the car all day but I figured no big deal..maybe theyre just busy). I got a call about five hours later that my car needed front rotors and pads as well as four new tires. I knew the tires were pretty well worn so I had them replace all four tires and also had them do the front pads and rotors. I had the day off so I decided to head to Chilis for lunch. As Im sitting down eating lunch I noticed that my mechanic who I had dropped the keys off with was at the bar enjoying lunch and a beer. Hmm......at that point I figured he was done for the day and just enjoying a beer after work. I was wrong. I went to pick up the car after Dave (the owner) had called and told me it was done and saw the gentleman from Chilis working on a car (hopefully it was his). I picked the car up and drove home. As soon as I pulled in my garage the brakes started squealing so I immediately called Precise and asked them what was wrong. Dave said that they installed the highest quality pad and that the material on the better pads tends to squeal since its a harder material. I figured the noise would subside after a couple of days.....I was wrong. After a week of this I called up Dave and asked that they take a look at the front brakes again...so I made an appointment. He said he would need the car the ENTIRE day again. Ok, whatever....as long as they fix it and stop the squealing I can deal with not having the car for the day. I dropped the car off at 7am and got a ride to work. I got a call from Precise around 11am...Dave asked me why my car was there. I was a little annoyed but understand mistakes happen...so I explained and he remembered the conversation. Around 4pm I got a call saying everything was all set and that there was nothing wrong with the brakes and that I will just have to deal with the noise. Ok....at this point...Im really annoyed. After this experience I said I would never patronize this business again and found a new mechanic. This week my front brakes starting making a horrible crunching and grinding noise when I would come to a stop....so I brought it in to my new mechanic. I waited for him to look at it (he didnt need the car all day --- its a miracle) and he brought me out to his shop to show me that the mechanic at Precise Automotive had installed the brake pads in the OPPOSITE direction. Are you kidding me???!!! After two visits Precise couldnt diagnose the issue??!! Unreal!!! I just wonder if the mechanic I saw having a beer at Chilis was the one that was working on my car.....who knows? So, after another front brake job my brakes no longer make the noise. Lesson learned. Buyer beware. Precise Automotive is not so Precise. Giving them a Poor - Fair rating isnt accurate. They should be given a Horrible rating.
