These guys were great. They were able to find the issue with my wifes car. They were able to get it fixed and back to us within 5 days. The repair was a transmission and clutch it was not cheap but that extensive repair would of took other shops multiple weeks. They knew we had issues with another shop and worked with us as fast as they could to help.

UPDATE: New shop pulled my motor and reviewed all the repairs done by this place. They found things taped together and others glued that should have been replaced. This place is TERRIBLE! Such great reviews on here and some of you probably have tape and glue when you paid to replace that part.Original: I did not have the same experience all these other reviewers had. The dealer we bought the car from brought the car here for some major repairs. Within 9 months those repairs failed and caused more damage. We immediately took it to our repair shop to find out what was wrong with the car. It was at that point that we found out 90% of the issues were things this place was supposed to have fixed. The other 10% was damage caused by their faulty repairs. We had the car towed here directly from that repair shop here so they can fix their previous repairs under THEIR warranty and eat the difference we would pay because it caused further damage. Well, in THEIR POSSESSION the motor seized. When we asked what happened their response was “well it doesn’t matter, the motor is seized now” they then proceeded to offer some solutions. It went from $1900 in repairs they should have covered to now spending $4k-$14k on a new motor out of our pocket. We were in a shocked mind state when they offered the options and amounts. They gave the impression they were trying to help us so I too felt like they cared like some other of the reviewers... luckily I had time to get my thoughts together. They were charging ME for THEM locking my motor!!! Instead of them staying true to their work and covering their original mistakes they wrecked my car even more so *I* would have to pay to fix it!! I had to ASK them to provide a repair order of their findings and even so they don’t explain ANYTHING on that sheet just items and pricing. No “concern, cause, or correction.” I had the vehicle towed out of there this morning and provided their “repair order” to the shop it’s at now. My shop also wonders how this place is still in business and to report them to the BBB.Definitely NOT honest.On another note, not a single person but me and the tow truck driver were wearing a mask.I hope your experience is nothing like mine.

I was referred by my sister about Dan and Multistate as I needed to get a terrible and annoying *rattling* sound coming from the bottom of my Suburu Forester. I contacted Dan and scheduled a time to come in, he responded quickly but unfortunately I had to change the day and time due to something *I* overlooked. Despite this, Dan was very understanding and open to me coming in and I dropped off my car early Sat AM to be fixed. Even though there many cars being repaired they took care of my car. Within an hour the issue was found and with my ok issue was repaired. Guys there were very nice and do feel they were sincere.

My truck was damaged during a test drive. The owner “AL” was very rude and dismissive. Without even looking at the evidence he told me “we were very nice to you” as if I, a black woman, was undeserving of common courtesy. He then states that he believes his mechanic and to “do what you have to do”. So needless to say this is going to be a lengthy legal battle.

I actually go out of my way to have them work on my vehicles when it is something I cant or dont want to do myself. I spent many years working on cars and know these guys are the real deal. Dan and Al provided excellent service. My warranty on my Jeep transmission expired by several weeks, and it went out this past Sunday. They towed my jeep with no charge, and fixed the transmission in three business days. They did not charge me for parts or labor, and communicated effectively. Wonderful people. I highly recommend. Not many places would honor expired warranty.

Buying and having serviced a vintage car long distance is a very layered process, and likely requires a great deal of trust. Here I dealt with Dan, who was winning right away starting with his phone manner. My purchase from NY took a few months while all the wrinkles were ironed out. I can say Dan is professional, cheerful, responsive and timely. He inspected the car and performed some routine / recommended repairs.I thought his pricing was fair. As someone who is immediately on guard and weary of auto repair places, I found Multistate Transmissions to be exceptional in the quality of work and customer service that they have provided. Dan was especially great on the phone and in person, even when I frantically called several times in my attempt to relay information about my broken transmission. Not only did they replace my transmission and transmission lines for cheaper than any other place I received quotes from, they even sourced a used transmission for cheaper than I would have paid if I were to purchase one on my own (I automatically assumed I would get ripped off as is the status quo in this industry). It wasnt so much the service that I got from Milex, it was the service they said I didnt need! It was also the fact that they looked at my car without a charge where many said that there would be a minimum charge just to diagnose. And in doing so, they fixed some very simple items at no cost.I used my former mechanic for over a decade and when he retired, this is the place he recommended I go to. Im pleased that he did.

Great service and friendly people! They fixed my car after it failed the annual emissions test and then they offered to take it back through emissions for me. They made sure the car passed and there was no extra charge!! Plus, they were about $100 cheaper than what the Honda dealer quoted me. I definitely recommend them for all your car repair work.

I choose Multistate because of the reviews. Dan was courteous and kept me updated on progress. My vehicle transmission was rebuild. It took longer then intiallly stated but it was due to defective part in rebuild kit and it had to be ordered via dealership. In a way I was glad that no parts were compromised on rebuilding my vehicle transmission and it was done right.

Ive been using them since I had a 98 Jeep Grand Cherokee that constantly wanted to have something different break. They rebuilt the transmission and did a great job. From that point forward, Ive referred to them when I had issues and needed clarification on what to fix. They dont tell you to fix things that dont need fixed. They point you in the right direction for things you need. And theyre overall great guys.

I detoured to Multistate / Milex on my to work when I heard an unusual sound from under the hood when the car started up. The took the car in and diagnosed a problem within a few minutes -- with no appointment. Dan gave me the option to wait around while a new alternator was ordered and installed. I was on my way within 90 minutes with a whole lot of peace of mind. Good job. And good coffee in the waiting room.

This shop tried to take my wallet for a ride after locking out my vehicle by enabling the immobilizer with the wrong key. Did a brief “inspection” which didn’t include anything other than OBDII scanning and trying to start the car with the wrong key. Was told I needed a new motor. Unbelievable.

I needed some front end work done on my Acura TL. I was told by another garage I needed an alignment as well. When I picked my car at Multistate, they advised me I did not need an alignment saving me around $100. Besides the good work and pricing, I appreciate Multistates honesty.

I had an issue with Transmission of my 2008 Toyota Rav4, limitted--very upset about the situation! I went to a Toyota dealer shop, then talked to Dan at Multistate. I eventually decided to have transmission rebuild at Multistate. The car was fixed as exoected without any additional cost. I took my sons Dodge Neon in to see why it was not shifting correctly. I was worried about taking it to a place that I was not familar with. I went to Multi-State because of the great reviews it had.I was very pleasantly surprised. The guy seemed very knowledgable about transmissions. He already had an idea what it was. He had one of his workers take a look at it and it was something very small. He then took it for a test drive to confirm that it was fixed.He could have charged me alot. But he didnt. If I ever need any transmission work done, I am definitely coming here. Thanks for all your help.
