I would think twice before ordering anything from this Sears Hometown Store. I ordered a mechanic’s tool set on 8/1 and was told that it would be available in the store by 8/16. When I checked my order status on that date, sure enough it said it was available for pickup even though I had not received an email notifying me of such. I tried calling the store to verify that it was in, and after 7 attempts I was finally able to talk to someone. The first six times I called the phone simply rang and rang and finally I was prompted to enter a security code, which I obviously don’t have. The guy I talked to told me that the store hours had temporarily changed to 10-5 even though that’s not what either Google or the Sears website says. I told him I would come in this morning to pick it up, and he assured me he would be there. Well….he wasn’t, and the door to the store was still locked at 11am when I finally gave up and left after waiting for 45 minutes to see if someone would open the store. I took three hours out of my day and drove 80 miles round trip for nothing. Buyer beware. I will now attempt to get my money refunded.

This has been an awful experience. We will never trust Sears Homestore again. Nothing but issues and they also took our old WORKING stove and we do not have a stove we can use. The new stove is damaged and not hooked up right. We smelled gas last night and had to shut the valve off. And now, the manager of the store cant even take a moment to call and assist us. Theives and bad actors all around.

I went in for a desperately-needed snow shovel and there were four or five excellent choices to choose from. However, I was unable to make a purchase because their internet was down and the clerk had no idea how to manually operate the equipment to make a cash payment. There wasnt even any indicator as to how much the snow shovels cost. I left without a shovel

Very nice people and helped us pick out our replacement refrigerator. Steven and Rich are very helpful and made it a very easy. Well worth the drive to go to them. The store is well lit up and they talk to you like your family. Definitely will go back there for our next upgrade.

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! I have never been treated so badly! I ordered and paid cash for Brand new refrigerator and a floor model dishwasher.when I went to pick up, I was told they didn’t have the dishwasher anymore. Had to got to atm to refund my $. As I paid cash. Then new manager was such a jerk to me I told him I didn’t want anything from this store, I wanted my $ back from refrigerator too, he had no $ so said he would put on my debit as a return, I’ve yet to see it. I’m furious.

Friendly and helpful staff. I had syw rewards points and all the Sears retailers near me were closed. They went above and beyond to get me the cordless yard tools I needed. I will be returning for all my craftsman product needs!

Called trying to findout if they had a craftsman socket that I need to warranty. Got told they didnt have the socket I was looking for. That wasnt the problem. When I asked if they could order it if I brought the bad socket in. Was told no that is done by Sears we just get what we get luck ofthe draw he tells me. Is it just me but last I thought you are a sears outlet right. Useless whats the point of selling tools if you cant order ones you dont have .

My husband and I stopped in there during the week. .. less people we like that, more one on one time. We were looking at Stoves and dryers, dont need them yet but wanting an idea of whats out there... .The people working there were very helpful.... There was a young lady named Tonya that went above and beyond to inform us the different things between the ones we were looking at. We for sure will come there to buy when we are ready... What a difference having someone takes the time with you.. also the store is only about an hour away from us, so pretty close and convenient.

Just stopped by this past black Friday to purchase a fridge. The price was not the same as in the ad, but manager Valentin was extremely friendly and quickly resolved the issue for me. The young lady that was helping me always had a smile on her face and took the time to make my shopping experience feel more personal. Even though the store was really busy, every employee was genuinely helpful to me. I will definitely find myself coming back here again.

I have a mixed review. The service at the store was great. I bought a zero turn mower. Great price. However; I don’t understand how it takes a month to get a mower delivered. I understand now why Sears is struggling. Is it being manufactured as you buy it? I mean, it has to be at a store or a warehouse somewhere. Why would it take a month for delivery? Really disappointed.

Absolutely would never go here again tried for the second time. Went here on 2/17/19 . Just one girl working she was with customer didnt even acknowledge me and my wife. She had no clue what she was doing. We waited for at least a half hour patiently and still nothing. Another customer walked in and he also had left . She was on the phone with some telling here what to do. Im one who likes to spend money where i reside at. I will never go here or refer any to this sad sorry plce for a store. They lost out on a 3500 dollar purchase thanks home depot for the great deal and service. I work in sales and this place is truly SAD . Know wonder why sears is out of business. This place should close their doors to.

I ordered a tool box online to be picked up here. The next day I got an email saying it would be delayed almost 3 weeks. On December 20th I called before I went to the store and they told me the tool box was there. Got there, and I gave them my info for the tool box. I pull around to get the tool box loaded and they put one box in the back of my truck of two boxes. I asked where the other box was and they then told me it was not there yet. Finally after the holidays on January 2nd, I went back to see if my box had showed up and was informed that the whole box was already picked up, which it was not. They could not figure out what happened or where my box was so they returned it and re ordered the box. After another two weeks I finally got the box. Brought it home and opened up both pieces, just to find out one looked like it was dropped out of the truck with multiple dents in it. I brought that piece back, they exchanged it but of course had to order a replacement. I was told the box would be there two weeks ago from today, January 28th. I went to call this morning and gave them my info, the man said he was looking for my order and hung up after minutes of silence. I immediately called back and it went straight to voicemail. I called again, the phone was answered and hung up right away. Finally, on the fourth call to the store the man answered like nothing happened. I told him I was the one calling about the tool box that he had just hung up three times on and he cut me off yelling “it’s here, it’s here!” After I got off the phone I was getting ready to leave to pick up the box and I get a call back saying he was told wrong and that my box wasn’t actually there. Needless to say, after two months of multiple trips to the store and multiple calls, I have no tool box after cancelling the order and returning everything all together. Not to mention the couple previous smaller items that we have ordered through this store always are beat up and boxes always tore open. I’ve always been loyal to craftsman but after this experience I think I’ll be changing brands from now on.

This store is a complete one stop shop. I visited a few weeks ago just inquiring about assembly and delivery and Nadine walked me through it all. Because I was simply doing my research I didnt make a purchase at that time, however I did go back today and had the pleasure of being assisted by Monica. She was extremely helpful and attentive. Finding a conversion kit proved to be a bit challenging in the beginning but nevertheless Monica was able to find me a grill and a kit in my price range. I will definitely be shopping here for my appliance needs solely because of their customer service.

Ashley is phenomenal.She was courteous, kind and went well past the extra mile to help me with a problem. Anybody else would have been exasperated with the amount of phone calls and questions I was asking her. She was calm and genuine in trying to help me solve a problem. A frustration three month ordeal was finally put to rest only because Ashley knew what she doing and cared. People like her are rare and she needs to be promoted.

So no one answers the phone, google maps says open till 7 (they can fix it) well anyway get here and their closed it’s 630. Call before you go! We arrived at 3:10 on a Sunday, after receiving an email that our order was ready for pickup, only to find the store closed. We drove 45 minutes to get there. The store is supposed to be open until 4:00.

I have been buying my appliances from this local Sears Hometown store since they opened, decades ago. The staff has always been the greatest. Recently I was getting the runaround trying to get my approved new washer, through my service contract. Nadine, at the store, helped me by calling the service contract department and dealing with all the problems. The store manager also helped me, and my new washing machine was delivered -- and I love it. I called them back to thank them for all their help.

This is not about the Store itself. I placed my order on-line. My printout and receipt specifically state Haul Away Old Item INCLUDED when the delivery showed up the men were unable to take away my old items because it wasnt on their work order. I showed them my printout, however, they did not have room on the truck for the haul away. I called customer service and was redirected 3 times. I have been on the phone since the delivery started, fridge and stove delivered and men are gone and I am still trying to schedule a Haul Away for my old items. The customer service line is Terrible! The connections are bad and it is not easy to hear the people on the other line. I ended up having to pay for Haul Away and reschedule a date. I dont mind paying for it, my issue is that the internet order was misleading and the level of customer service provided by the scheduling department is horrible. They have absolutely no idea how to help people. I ordered a fridge and a stove and was asked what items Id like hauled away....really? My dryer please... *sarcasm* So 41 minutes later and now I will be getting a call back from the warehouse to schedule pick up of my old items. sometime today Fabulous. Im very unhappy with this situation and most likely will not be using Sears in the future.

I called July 9, 2019 to check the status of a vacuum cleaner at this store. I was told they had multiple in stock. I went online and ordered it. I got the confirmation the order was ready for pickup. Some guy called and said he had information on my order. It would have been nice if he would have said on his message that they only had the scratched up floor model. I tried calling back 3 times and no answer. We drove 2 hours one way to pick up the vacuum to be told they didnt have it and they only had the floor model. The guy couldnt figure out how to do the refund and called someone via the phone. I took the email order confirmation and the confirmation saying the order was ready for pickup. He tells whoever hes talking to I had 5 different accounts. I have one Sears account. I can see why Sears is sinking. We used to buy all appliances etc there. We rarely go there anymore and now this just reaffirms that we will not buy anything there anymore.

Dont buy from this store and I wouldnt buy from this company. The store wont help you after the sale, and my new Kenmore refrigerator has a bad door gasket. Should be a simple fix. Multiple service calls=missed days at work, the tech damaging our new refrigerator. A whole new door being delivered to our house and just sitting here taking up space, and being told it will take over 45 days now for our new door gasket to just ship. Plus talking to a minimum of 35 different people on the phone, hours of phone calls, and fights between my wife and I because of the stress of this just trying to get a new door gasket. God help us if my refrigerator was actually broke and not cooling.

Bought a washed and dryer there. Never again. Delivery team is the worst service. Bringing it into your house, they abuse the product. They drop the dryer on the floor outside in the garage. They made us purchase a gasline which cost 42 dollars. Never replaced it. We also had to purchase a 19 dollar dryer air duct hose that doesnt fit for the amount of space we have behind the dryer. They didnt put it in correctly. They also didnt install the water hose to the dryer for steam dryer because our shut off valve had small leak but left it for us to install. Never again go to that store. Supposedly I was going get a new dryer today cause complained about dropping the dryer. So they are replacing it. But never showed up on the timed they said that they were coming. So I had to cancel it. I had to go to work. I wish they come pick up all the product and get a full refund. So I could go someplace else.

Great service down side is the hours online are wrong. On line it says theyre open til 9 p.m. However theyre open til 7 p.m. At the store. So hopefully in the near future they will correct this minor issue that may cause issues again later on the road for someone else.

I should have read these other reviews before going here... The workers here have no idea what theyre doing. You pay them cash to get a stainless steel fridge and they order you a black one and then deny you cash refund. I rented a Menards truck, had a buddy spare a few hours to help me move a new fridge ordered by this sears store, and when I finally get there to pick it up: its the wrong fridge. AND it wasnt a shipping error, the brainless employee that looked like a borderlined heroin addict put the wrong code for the fridge type. Well done putting a 9 in place of a 3... So I return the truck, go back to get a refund and they cant give me one so I have to come back Monday. I said screw that, call your boss, which the pimpled mouth-breather did and within a few seconds refunded my money to my bank card. Its just ridiculous that after all this checking and double-checking they cant even put in ONE NUMBER CORRECTLY. And did they offer any kind of retribution for my wasted time and money? Nope! Duh, sowwy! is all I got before the child behind the counter started giving me an attitude when hes the idiot that doesnt understand how bad they just screwed up. Im never shopping there again, Id never recommend them to anyone. If youre buying an appliance, do it ANYWHERE ELSE!!! This is all a 100% true story.

If that doesnt tell you something about the ownership, I dont know what will. I dont know about all Sears Hometown locations, But i CAN tell you that the MORRIS and CHAMPAGNE locations are a complete joke.

Though Sears corporate is going through some financial issues, and I still havent gotten over the fact their Craftman tools are now made in China, this DeKalb Hometown Sears store will have my business for a long time.
