My family has used Dads since we moved here about 4 years ago. Theyve worked on all our cars, mine most recently. It was something with my VTEC in my little Honda Fit. They fixed it and it fixed my cruise control at the same time. They didnt break my bank and my car drove better than the day I bought it. Ill never use anyone else. These guys are amazing... They replaced the thermostats on my Jeep Patriot because it was over-heating and they suggested a tune-up. My Jeep hasnt run this well since I bought it! And they got rid of an annoying clicking sound that happened every time I turned the car on or the air conditioning, and I didnt even tell them about that. I can only say how WONDERFUL my experiences with Dads Automotive have been. My older vehicle has had some transmission problems and they have been able to fix or ameliorate those problems quickly and efficiently. They are also very thorough in their trip safety checks and after having them perform one before a trip to Denver, I felt confident that the trip would be uneventful. The staff and mechanics are very helpful and knowledgeable and I highly recommend this business for vehicle maintenance and repair!

This place ripped me off $600. They said my care needed a new alternator, so they replaced it. After this my car continued to break down. When I got a diagnosis from another automotive shop they told me it is actually the PCM that is draining my cars battery. I guess this place thinks its okay to rip people off during the Corona virus when everyones taking a cut in pay. Im never going back to these guys again.

These guys go above and beyond expectations and the owner, Levi, is an awesome guy that will do anything he can to help. He was actually out of town on vacation and helped me with my truck and gave me pointers over the phone to fix my truck. Not many guys will even talk to you with out charging you. I highly recommend these guys for all your automotive needs, especially if you own a diesel as they specialize in diesels.

We broke down coming through town headed to Louisiana and Levi sent his technician out to us, repaired us enough to get to town and then stayed late fixing our problem. New alternator! These guys are great. They squeezed me in and stayed open late to get my job done. I was traveling through for work when when some previous auto work caused me crippling trouble. The lugs sheared off truck and my wheel came off. They got me back on the road quickly and at a fair price. This is a family owned business and they were very friendly and professional. I would highly recommend Dads.

Visiting Montrose from out of state. While on our road trip, my 2017 Ram 2500’s check engine light came on twice. Truck was running fine, the check engine light was on. I took it to Dads Automotive the first time and he hooked it up to his diagnostic computer and ran the code. Needless to say there wasn’t an issue, he cleared the code and sent me on my way. I offered to pay, he declined. He did that twice, never did let me pay. That’s service that you can’t find anywhere. I wish we had honesty like this in California.Thank you for your help.

They checked my Chevy diesel 2500 over all over and instead of doing unnecessary work I had brought it in for they gave it back for free with real good information.

I usually do my own wrenching, but had my trans in my 03 Cummins spit out the pump seal on my way to Moab- so I needed a shop. I saw the good reviews on Google and decided to give Dads a try. I was not disappointed. The owner, Levi, was honest, worked quickly to diagnose my issues, a gave me options.Since I wanted to have a high performance transmission built for this truck anyway, I took this opportunity- (the trans being out of the truck already) to have it sent to a performance trans shop to have it built, instead of just having Levi repair the seal.At this point, Levi also went out of his way to help me facilitate getting the truck to my trans builder, since I was back on the other side of the state!All that said, I would definitely recommend this shop to anyone! Fair priced, honest, timely, and helpful!

Fantastic service!Our radiator broke on our way home. Levi was a saving grace for us in getting a radiator installed the next day.I wish he was closer because he would be our go to mechanic for our diesel truck. He actually knows what he is talking about, wont try to upsell you on something unnecessary and will alert you of any problems that would be good to repair.The shop is great for kids with a play area with a variety of toys and coloring books!Cannot recommend DADS enough for anyone in Montrose who needs auto work by a trustworthy mechanic!

It took two tries, starting with the least expensive option, but this shop properly diagnosed a connector that was unseating and reseating itself, causing my wifes 2006 GMC 2500 Diesel to intermittently go into limp mode, as well as not starting on any morning colder than 40 degrees. Do you know how difficult it is to diagnose an intermittent problem? The total coat was just under $1,000 (and included new batteries). This compared to the $4,000 plus the dealer in Delta wanted to charge us, which included replacing the turbo (I still have that written quote). Their recommendation would not have fixed the problem, either. Dads is highly recommended.

Over priced and shoty work. Had my brakes done. Have to redue them do to a grinding that wasent there before. Told me my front end was completely shot. Nothing is wrong with the front at all. Just needed one bushing. Cheap quality work and shady people who talk to you like your stupid. Would never recommend to go here. Ever. Stay far away from here!
