Fixed my daughters guitar very fast. Can tell he really knows his stuff!

I went to Maxs for the first time today and I left very impressed. George is a knowledgeable and friendly guy that exudes the love of guitars and music with every word from his mouth. You can tell he knows his stuff and when he recommends equipment he speaks from personal experience. I think I have found my guitar shop! Awesome. Looking forward to bringing my axe over to have him set it up.

Max Axe Guitars is awesome. This small shop carries guitars for guitar PLAYERS! This place has a great atmosphere. Very laid back environment and friendly employees. Max Axe has that boutique shop feel. I would definitely recommend Max Axe to anyone who is interested in purchasing a guitar!

I drove all the way from Kendall to check them out. It is true that George is very knowledgeable about guitars. He took the time to show me around. I enjoyed their easy no pressure approach. I recommend them. Go check them out.

These guys are top-notch. George is the owner, and you can tell from talking with him on the phone that this is a no-hype kind o guy. He lets his product and service speak for itself.His main service technician, also named George, is just superb. I brought my 50-year-old Guild F-212 to him, he spent three hours cleaning up the body and tweaking the neck, and its never played so well.One thing that set them apart from Guitar Center is that Im way down here in the Keys and wanted to wait for it to be worked on, rather than drive all the way back up at a later date. Guitar Center said nope, theyd just put it in the queue and I could pick it up when they were done with it. George said you bet, we set up a date & time, so when I brought it in they had cleared the slate and they got right to work on it.I also thought the $50/hr younger George the technician charged me was more than reasonable, especially given the effort he put into this old wreck to bring her up to speed. I could tell he really enjoyed working on a vintage acoustic 12-string, rather than just another humdrum electric axe.And, speaking of vintage instruments, owner George is an older guy and really knows his guitar history. Between his knowledge and the techies expertise, this shop is a cut above the standard cookie-cutter guitar store. This place is authentic and deserves my highest recommendation.

Max Axe refurbished my two mid 90s Ibanez S-Series guitars which were in need of some serious TLC. PERFECT super low action / neck adjustments with ZERO buzz, hardware replacement, fretwork, etc. I swear they play better than ever. I dont typically write reviews - but had to in this case. Stay clear of these guys! I received an email about a guitar I had for sale on Craigs list from someone at this Shop. We negotiated within $100. They disappeared. I got another email about a week later with an offer $50 lower than the last offer they sent me. I reminded them where we left off. I received a reply that said they didnt know about the previous offer. It became obvious that there at least 2 people using this email address. They then offered me the same amount again. I told them the lowest I was going to go was to meet them in the middle. They then told me I would have to accept a PayPal payment and ship them the guitar. Their shop is about a 2 hour drive from me. I told them I was not interested in covering PayPal fees and shipping at The price we agreed. They then wanted me to drive an hour and a half to meet them to complete the deal. I told them that was too far for me. They suggested a place that was about an hour from me. I agreed and asked when they wanted to complete the deal.After not hearing from them for 2 days I sent an email to make sure they received my previous email. I received a reply that stated they couldnt pay the agreed upon price and offered me $100 less. This is dishonest dealing. I will not do business with a dishonest person or business. Be very cautious if you decide to deal with these guys. They will never see any business of mine.

A killer online selection and a beautiful in-store gallery! Totally let me mess around with all the guitars and amps to see what worked for me and hooked me up with a great price. Friendly peeps, and it was nice to not deal with the normal guitar snobs you tend to deal with at corporate shops.
