I do not know of a better professional photography supply and services store in South Florida. They stock a wide variety of cameras and lenses by Nikon, Canon and Olympus. As well, they have Tamaron and Sigma lenses in stock. They have some used cameras ans lenses, too. They have flashes, tripods, camera bags, camera batteries, lense filters, many size and types of memory cards and all manner of camera and photography accessories for both professional and amateur photographers. They also stock film and do development of negatives, as well as photo printing and enlargement services. Simply put, it is a great place to meet all of your photgraphic needs.

This is truly a photographers heaven. The staff really know their stuff and give you the time to help you and are never in a rush. They care about selling bit seems like a secondary purpose. I love this place everytime I have an issue I go here first and they always help me out.

COVID Insanity: I go to Pitman on a Saturday morning. Not one customer in the store. Completely empty. I walk in...no greeting from the two staff members...40 feet apart standing behind the counter...not a can I help you find something?. I did get we have hand sanitizer over there. I said I just washed my hands...thank you. Note: I just showered and went straight to the store. The employee said you have to use the santizer. Seriously? I have to use their hand sanitizer in order to shop their store. I have to put an unknown chemical on my hands that you provide to look around your store? So I left and went to BestBuy. BeatBuyhad lots of customers and no insane requirements other than masks. Pitman is the type of business that will be crying that Covid put them out of business. Pitman enjoy your hand sanitizer and self mandated Covid policies. I hope it pays the bills.

Honestly, this is the best photo store in south Florida. They’ve been around ever since I picked up a camera and man that’s more than 10 years. They have everything you need available in store for the beginning to the advanced photographer. The customer service here is outstanding as they will listen to every question you have and provide the best recommendation as well as a perfect explanation to tell you why. All 35mm film is available here a bit pricey but if you need it right then and there it’s available to you. They clean sensors but limit service for certain cameras. Anyway, go to Pittman. You’ll be in good hands.

Amazing customer service and prices

Dave is very helpful, knowledgeable and patient. My wife and I went to learn about a specific camera and he spent more than an hour explaining and teaching us about the different lenses, camera bodies and other gear. He even took the time to take pictures with different lenses so we could see the difference. He is definitely a great asset to the company and made our first interaction with Pitman a pleasant and informative one. We are definitely going to buy our supplies from them.

Great place for all your camera needsEspecially if you need real photography equipment and dont have time to order something online.Not many places carry professional camera equipment or even simple things as a compact flash card. The other week I went to 3 stores to try and find a compact flash memory card and no one carried them. Went here and found one instantly as well as knowledgeable staff that were very helpful.

I went for passport photos for a non-US passport, and they were knowledgeable and quickly accommodated the request - as well as guaranteed the photos would comply with requirements or they would be retaken for free.

Make the drive out here but its well worth it.. have everything I need for reasonable prices.. highly recommend

I needed some last minute pictures for my wedding, and they helped me through the whole process and even made some last minute copies before closing. I highly recommend this place! and it’s so economical. I even bought a water case for my phone for my cruise. Take a USB it’s easier to make copies or go online to their website for quicker results.

I have had several passport photos made at Pitman Photo Supply over the past several years because the photos came out superior to any I have had taken at other stores. They set up the lighting like a professional portrait studio.I more recently purchased binoculars from Pitman. I was surprised at the low price for high quality binoculars that included Nikon coated lenses. The price was equal to big box stores.The staff was very knowledgeable and professional. This is always very important for customers looking for the best when purchasing complex equipment.

For more than 8 years I have been shopping at Pitman Photo Supply store, I have spent hundreds of dollars, mostly on photo albums and frames.This is the only place I can ever find albums that are different sizes, colors etc. These albums you can never get at other stores. The staff is always polite and ready to help when its needed.I have always recommended this store to all my friends when they comment on the beautiful frames or photo albums they see me with.

The store is spacious and well appointed. I dont think there is a camera accessory they dont carry. If they cant help you, they will advise on who can.I have been a customer for about 15 years and always satisfied. The last visit was in early December of 2014. I was not there for a new purchase (wish I was) but to ask about a camera I had purchased a year before. The associate that helped me was patient with plenty of know-how. I may use other smaller vendors closer to my home, from time to time...but if I want the final answers or the best quality, I always go to Pitman Photo Supply.

Very helpful, went to print some old negatives and what I wanted was a little complicated. I had marked which ones I did and didnt want with little flags and they were very accommodating. Unfortunately some of them had gotten stuck to the film and they had no advice on how to fix them but overall very understanding and helpful.

Great people, fantastic selection of tripods which was perfect as what I needed wasn’t for photography. They took their time to show me lots of options to meet my needs. In this age of amazon being so dominant it’s great to see a brick and mortar store that holds such an assortment of inventory on hand with a staff that takes the time to show you lots of options - it’s not all about price - it’s about selling their value as they did it.

I was very dissapointed today about this place. The staff, especially the lady who seemed in charge, was rude and without asking me how she can help me, she just told me rudely that they cannot serve me today. I just left thinking that sadly you have to go to Amazon, rather than supporting local businesses. Definitely a better option than dealing with people who do not know how to treat a customer.

Ive been a long-time customer of Pitman Photo. Although this location is smaller than their previous, youll still find the same helpful staff and merchandise any pro photographer would need. Unfortunately they no longer process film in house.

Service is good. Selection is lacking unless you are looking for Canon, Nikon or Sony Gear (Im a Fuji Shooter). I get that the big three companies mentioned have the largest market share for full frame selections but Fujifilm is #1 when it comes to the crop sensor mirrorless lineup. And we all know the inevitable future lies in mirrorless cameras for regular consumer use..

Pitman probably has what youre looking for in their inventory, but NONE of the staff know ANYTHING about photography/videography.If youre a pro, prepare to browse through everything yourself. If youre an amateur, DONT let the staff guide you, as their level of knowledge is quite shallow.Let me give you examples of what my business partner and I encountered (in chronological order):We first got a 5K gorilla pod. We asked for a ball-head for the gorilla pod, but were not directed to anything useful. I found them on the shelf right next to where we were talking, to my luck.At this point, we still did not know what we were in for. Next, we inquired about a specific tripod. We asked if they carried a very specific Manfrotto video camera tripod with a ball-head. The employee kept recommending other products.Somewhat frustrated from the diversion, we pointed to another tripod already open (without the ball-head), said that we were looking for the exact same model, just with a ball-head already attached. Such an item exists with 100% certainty (we already have one in our studio), it was just a matter of whether they had it in stock or not.Seeing that the employee was somewhat lost, we showed the item we were looking for from Manfrottos website. The employee said that they did not carry it.The thing is, though, they DID carry it. We were getting slight hints of ignorance from the answers we were receiving, so we were really not convinced.We started rummaging through the tripod boxes against the wall, and voila, we actually found 4 of the tripods we were looking for.Dont get me wrong; we werent rude or anything (no swearing, etc.), but were already clearly visibly frustrated, since we had already lost 15 mins. just manually going through each and every tripod box leaning against the wall.Quite frustrated at this point, we next started looking for a specific monopod that was broken a few weeks ago. We found our old model, but also came across another one that was almost identical. It just did not have the max weight carrying limit stated on the box, but was lighter in build. Both were again Manfrotto.We did the mistake of asking the same employee what the difference was. This was the answer he gave us: well that ones a monopod...At that point, we asked for someone else to help us. He left us saying well you probably didnt like me that much it seems.The next guy came over, and he didnt know anything either, but at least he didnt pretend to know and left us quickly enough.The point where we lost all hope and just simply started helping ourselves was when we started talking to the third guy.We asked if they sold lavalier microphones for the Sennheiser EW 112P (or any other Sennheiser wireless microphone for that matter).He asked whats that?We repeated ourselves, the microphone piece for the Sennheiser wireless microphone set.He said oh ok, what brand?At that point, we abandoned all hope.At the end of the day, we did purhase goods exceeding 1K USD in amount, but we browsed every corner of the store ourselves, without anyones help, losing all the precious time in the world.So let me repeat what I said at the beginning: if you know what youre looking for, do it yourself. If youre a pro, expect to browse all by yourself. If youre an amateur, do NOT let anyone guide you, since you will 100% purchase the wrong stuff. Learn your basics from YouTube, make a list and dont let them guide you.

If I can give them a 0 rating I would. Not only is the film side of photography almost none existent, I bought a bag of D76 from them and it was no good. I lost 4 rolls of film that I developed one at a time,Im so pissed it hurts.
