We came to Clemons today because my Enclave had the throttle body position sensor go out. I was going to buy the part myself and replace it, but when I spoke to the parts person Doug he suggested I speak with the service department to see if I could have them scan it to make sure I was purchasing the correct part. I spoke to Logan in the service department and after giving him my information he thought there might be a service bulletin out on the Enclave to repair/replace the part I was originally going to purchase for $400. Logan went above and beyond to get the vehicle worked on the same day due to us just driving through Marshaltown on vacation. Too bad the dealership was not closer to home because they would definitely get my service needs in the future.

I’ve had spotty experiences with Clemons. The first several times were great. However, the last two times, communication has been poor with servicing my truck. Both times they put me in a pickle of not fixing it and not telling me until the end of the day. If you are in a hurry or NEED something done, I’d go somewhere else.

My wife and I took our vehicle into the service dept for some issues with starting. What a great group of people. The staff was polite, professional and got our vehicle in the shop for repair in a timely manor. When the vehicle was ready to go Surprise, the bill was much less than we had anticipated. Great experience.

Bought our 2017 Equinox here and have been happy with it and the service weve been getting after the sale. The body shop is awesome as well. Cant even tell that a deer wrecked the left side of the vehicle.

I would give zero stars if possible!My husband was very close to buying a used truck from them but I wanted to test drive and see it first. It was fine until we got back into town. The oil gauge lit up and smoke came into the vehicle. Very scary.When asked about it, one of the salespeople said it’s probably the engine head gasket. And proceeded to say that that’s why they are selling it this low. Otherwise they would be asking over double.That’s fine but no one told my husband that there was such an issue! I am just thankful that the issue was found when I test drove. Not a trustworthy dealership. I’m never coming back!

I paid over $120 to find out something I already knew. They wanted to charge over $300 for 1.5 hours of labor to replace an instrument cluster. They say a $105 per hour diagnostic fee will be applied. I was there for less than an hour easily and was charged over $120. Man behind desk moved VERY slow. Not pleased

I had been searching for a truck for a couple of weeks and I checked out all the dealers in a 50 mile radius and I was about fed up with all I was running into. Finally I had a salesperson take some time to help me out. He listened to what I told him and didnt try to persuade me into taking a different vehicle other than what I wanted. We spent about three days trying to make something happen but my lender was making it hard.. Nevertheless this salesperson remained extremely patient and then finally it all payed off, I found the right vehicle and finally drove off in it. Now I am giving this salesperson many thumbs up because had it not been for him then, I never would have bought my vehicle at Clemons. They offered me peanuts on my trade in and the sales manager, made it difficult to close thIs deal.This salesperson that I speak very highly of is one of a kind, his name is Brendon White so if you ever want a chevorlet be sure to ask for Brendan White at Clemons in Marshalltown. Great place, great staff. Super knowledgeable. The receptionist is great at keeping you informed as to when the vehicle will be ready, and they even offer rides to work or vehicle rentals if you need it.

Had my car detailed yesterday and said it would take all day and I needed to drop it off in the morning. I was fine with that because I understand that it would take time to dry after a shampoo but when they never called me back I started to wonder. That being my only vehicle I was unable to go snywhere. They simply forgot to call me and had to wait 24 hrs to pick up my car. Unacceptable

PLEASE READ THIS... this is the worst shop I have ever been to. It took them 2 weeks to fix a oil pan gasket and replaced my fuel pump. Now I am very mechanical and only took it there cause it was suppose to be coved by warranty. Oil pan gasket was covered but the fuel pump was not because it was just the fuel sensor which the warranty company didnt cover. I told them this when I dropped it off and they still dropped the gas tank and pulled everything out only to charge me full price to put it all back together and I brought them my own fuel pump. They also didnt fix my oil leak properly and had to bring it back a second time for the same repair. DONT GO THERE

TOTAL INCOMPETENCE!Our vacation turned into a nightmare when our truck broke down outside of Marshalltown, Iowa and we had to rely on Clemons Chevrolet to fix it. $9,000+ later and 21 days of being stranded in Iowa (which included surviving the Marshalltown tornado), we had to have our truck towed home (over 800 miles) by our family where our own GM mechanic correctly diagnosed the problem in under an hour. Clemons replaced the fuel injectors (which were new) and the power pump twice. The replacement parts were used which they did not disclose beforehand. Because of the incompetence of Jason Colby (service manager) and the diesel mechanic, they failed to realize the very simple problem was gas in a diesel motor which was only a $500 repair. My husband and I are senior citizens and would like to believe there are still people of integrity in the world, but clearly they do not work at Clemons.

If I could leave negative I would. The quality of service I got from the owner. Took it in for alignment 9:00 appointment. Did not get to my truck till 12:00. Called me said they couldnt do the alignment because of bad lower ball joints,my truck was done at one oclock 4 hours after the appointment. Charged me 52.00 dollars for them not being able to do the alignment. Said they had report saying it was bad but didnt just what the guy typed in the computer no print out from what the alignment machine read nothing. The owner of the store was rude hit attitude with me because I said they were overcharge me for a service they didnt do. I was told he would make me a deal. Pay my bill and never come back. What a deal. Had oil change done(well I paid for one at least) no sticker telling me when next one due said the preformed a 27 point inspection on work order. The form is blank. I would never go here wait till a reputable company that values its customers. For just that not just looking to make a dollar. And to let u know my family has been in the auto buisness for 35 plus years from owning glass companys, professor of mechanics in Florida teaching are next gen. To owning auto repair shops. So yes I do know a thing or two about customer service. I also own a genral construction buisness that with out my customers Im just a guy with a hammer. Please find a real shop that cares

We brought my father’s Colorado in for a brake fix and they jammed his driver seat all the way forward?! They then told him it came in this way! The lady at the counter told him I don’t know why you’d put this much money into an old truck?! This is the way they treat Emerson retirees. Steer clear of this dealership Emerson employees!

If you like to waste time and money then this is the place you should go. I had the unfortunate pleasure of going here when I needed help with my vehicle and they charged me 4 times as much as any other place (I checked). After receiving my bill of over $100 where they didnt even fix a thing they quoted me on parts in order to fix the problem and that bill would be over $400. I obviously turned that down and went to Tandem Tire where I was then laughed at for paying the first fee and they had quoted me well under the $400 and Tandem Tire told me that I probably wouldnt even need all of the parts Clemons Chevrolet suggested. Needless to say I will never return to Clemons Chevrolet.

Took our 2008 Chevy paladin to Clemons for a noise in the front driver side wheel and the Abs, stabilitrack, antilock and traction control lights were all on. They told me that it was the driver side wheel bearing and the Abs wire harness. They called and said it was do e and it was going to cost 633.00. we went and paid the cost and pick it up and everything we took it there for was not fixed and all the lights were still on. We left the car there and the next day they called and said that the wheel bearing and wire harness was bad on the passenger side and that it was going to cost 391.00 more and they couldnt guarantee it would fix the problem. So basically we were paying them to play a guessing game. Apparently their techs font know nothing. We I went and got the car and didnt pay anymore for their guessing game. I wouldnt recommend them to anyone.

I was having issues with my vehicle not turning off; I thought it was a recall issue and that is why I went three . The gentleman sitting at the service desk talked down to me and treated me very disrespectfully. He told me I could make an appt for a couple weeks away and it would cost an outrageous amount, and that was just to look at it. I was stressed since my car wasnt turning off. I went somewhere else and they figured it out in a matter of minutes. I have bought cars from there before and had work done there before, but NEVER again. I would give zero stars if I could.

Its difficult to give a rating on service because Ive called twice to schedule a service appointment and no one in the service department will answer the call. Theyll gladly take a message for them though. Ha! We made an appointment at George white in Ames. Too bad we have to drive so far for repairs. :( Im disappointed in your customer service Clemons!

The vehicle we purchased died less than a mile from the dealership. The staff was very hesitant to help us reach a solution. They finally reimbursed us $50 for a part and my husband fixed it in their parking lot (in the cold and snow) in about 15 minutes. But of course, this isnt something they were willing to do for us.
