Have been to this store approximately 3 times in the last two years. The last two because it is now the closest Joann store to me and I still have to drive 25 miles each way! With the exception of one female employee today, customer service is and has been non-existent. Employees meet questions with the attitude of being bothered. There is no friendliness, just an attitude of annoyance. To top off todays experience, I was questioning the current flyer pricing versus the signage in front of the fabric. The first gal was unable to assist so she called over an assistant manager who was very kind despite both of us being unable to distinguish what the flyer referred to. Shortly thereafter we were joined by the male store manager. He quickly pointed out the print stating the fabric price I questioned didnt start until the next week. I did not hesitate to admit my fault despite him verbally suggesting I was causing problems by simply questioning what I felt were price contradictions. Imagine a store manager insulting a customer over something so trivial. By the way, I was calm and cordial and admitted my mistake. Maplewood Joann Fabrics will never again be the recipient of my business. Final suggestion; customers shopping there should go in with the lowest expectations and they wont be dissappointed.

I wish the customer service was better. They are simply not eager to help. You will not get approached asking how they can help you. You will have to track down help and when you get it, they are not enthusiastic about it. The pricing here is complicated as well. Just give me the best price. I dont want to download your app and look at multiple coupons...

They have a good selection of things, I’m a paper crafter so I like the stamps/cardstock/paper/stickers/Cricut things however most of that stuff is locked up and it is impossible to hunt down an employee, especially one who actually agrees to help you, to unlock things. I understand why they have to take precautions but it makes it impossible to actually buy anything at this location!

The customer service is severely lacking at this location in Maplewood. I will not be returning, Woodbury’s location is much better.

Waiting in line to have some fabric cut, There was a long line with one person cutting fabric. Understandable everyone waiting was patient. Then Jon a Manager comes back with fabric for himself cuts it and walks away goes and pays for it and leaves the store. No helping of anyone. Or call someone to help. I’m sorry but for being a Manager that’s very unprofessional! The sweet lady cutting fabric that day was very apologetic.

READ THIS before doing curb side pickup! Its been 6 days and I am still waiting for my email that my order is ready. I called and he said they are just starting the orders from the Saturday, (except I ordered on Friday) My issue is I did curbside pick up rather than online shipping because I didnt want to wait 5 days for shipping! I understand a delay, what I would have appreciated was an estimate on pickup. I wrongly assumed it would be the same day or the day following ( : This had been my experience at other stores during the covid crisis.

This place is gigantic! You will find all your crafting needs here; quilt fabrics, tapestry rolls, embroidery floss, foams, flower supplies, and so so much more. This location also has a framing department. Everytime i visit i find the place devoid of shoppers which is a good thing as well as a bad thing, at times you want to see other fellow crafters and maybe ask and exchange ideas, this place is very often deserted....and i dont think they play music which makes it even more obvious that is empty.

It is very organized and the employees are courteous and helpful! I also love the fact that I can bring my own sewing machine to the sewing basics class & learn about how to use My machine properly.

I have been at this store twice in the last two months. I was followed around by the same man both times, not sure if he was the store walker or not, but he made me feel like he was watching me to see if I was going to steal something. I will not be back to this store ever.

Went to asked if they would be willing to donate some fabric and was told they never donate anything,l. I do enjoy JoAnne Fabric anyway. I left disappointed that community doesnt mean more.

Consistently put of items that show in stock at this store when ordering online. Have consistently been tossed around on the phone sometimes for 15mins at a time when all Im doing is calling back about confirming a back up option to my order request. Typically pretty bad customer service and the phone line says theyre open 9-9 M-Sa which is not the case, the close at 7 meaning my pregnant self drove all the way there to pick up an order only to find the store closed for the night. Overall would rather stick to Amazon and other fabric shops. Hobby Lobby seems pretty great.

Flannels in abundance for season

I like Joann Fabrics in general, but this is my favorite location. They go beyond customer service and base politeness. Courtney is my favorite. She remembered me (and my order) a month later after seeing me just the one time. That is a gift. Shes also really helpful, as are all the other people I have interacted with while shopping here. They have a knack for making you feel like youre not asking silly questions (even when you are right next to the item you are looking for...).I have experienced retail stores before that just dont get it, making me seek out online options, but this store especially is the opposite. Give me that in-store shopping experience here over online any day, and I will be happy.

I understand the world is changing. What I don’t understand is waiting 1 week for 2 yards of fabric. I have used order pick up at other locations and this is by far the worse.

This shopping trip was greatly enjoyed! So many fleece fabrics to look at. Cutting tables were staffed to keep us shoppers happy. Same with checkout! Coupons upon coupons. Saved more than I spent. Parking was easy peasy.

Really big store with about every imaginable crafty supply and idea one can imagine. So you could wander the aisles blissfully or join one of the regulars scheduled classes for kids up to adults and enjoy as an hour flits by. Tried leave an honest review on their website and they refused to publish it. No emails can be sent back to original email to even speak with them about it. They will never let you leave a bad review. With that being said, sales on their weekly ad wont appear in cart. Butterick Pattern B6623 Misses Dress. Weekly ad says it is suppose to be on sale for 1.99. Its not coming on sale in cart. You can keep it. Good luck finding anyone to help you, and when you do they have no idea how to help you because they dont sew or craft. Stand in line for 20 minutes just to get a yard of fabric cut. Then stand in the checkout line for 30 just so you can get out of there. Order online for pickup is a joke. Ive had 4 orders cancelled. Granted the fill time is longer because of Covid-19, and that is understandable, but seeing as the stores are closed to the public you could hire more staff to get the orders filled. Stop being so cheap. If you get the chance, go to SR Harris. They have a much better selection and the people that work there can answer any question you might have. Its a much better store.

This store has a great selection of products. Shelves are fully stocked 80% of the time. A lot more variety than the smaller stores. However, the staff at this store are so slow that if you want fabric cut you will need to devote your entire day spending it in the store.

This is one of my favorite locations. Its an older store but always clean and well maintained. I find that this store is normally stocked a little but better than a few other ones.The location is awesome! There is always ample parking and it is located across from Maplewood Mall. The other nice thing is that if they dont have what I need, there is a Hobby Lobby and a Michaels around the corner.They have an awesome clearance fabric area in the back corner where the fabric is still on the bolt, so you can buy yardage. I found an pretty floral cotton for 3$ a yard. It seems like their paper and scrapbooking area has really improved. The cake decorating and baking area has definitely gotten much larger. Joannes is the first in craft stores and is still a favorite!!The staff has some people that are incredibly knowledgeable about everything, and some younger ones that are not as knowledgeable, but they are friendly and will ask around to get questions answered.I have never had a bad experience at this location.

Please clean up and invest in bathrooms that are acceptable. Your target market is women and your bathrooms are horrible. You are a decorating store and you should invest in some basic decorating inside and provide clean restrooms.

I dont usually write reviews, but this Jo-Anns is the absolute worst. Where to start.... well, its a disorganized mess. The checkout area is in such disarray that three people asked me where the checkout line was (theres so much clutter, its hard to tell) Clearly they knew not to ask one of the personnel at checkout - who are quick with dirty looks and publicly humiliating/condescending tone. Today I had no choice but to ask two employees for help (once for item location and once for accurate pricing since the 3 items were neither marked nor in the correct location) It became immediately clear that I was an inconvenience to them. They all must take the same training on passive aggression.After a very disappointing trip I settled on one item. I navigated the register line mess only to find out that the $4 clearance tag shouldnt have been on the item and its actually full price ($24). I left visibly frustrated by this poo-show which has taking an hour of my life I cannot get back...and the woman at the door had the audacity to tell me that its my responsibility to put away my cart.Though I understand my responsibilities as a shopper, and those of being a polite human being, I do feel its time for corporate to help these employees understand THEIR responsibilities in running an effective store. in the little time that Ive been in my van writing this note Ive watched five people come out of the store having purchased nothing. A craft store, in October, and people are walking out. In brief: SAVE YOURSELF THE TRIP AND GO TO THE ONE IN WOODBURY.

The mall JOANN is in is quite run down, and JOANN is no different. But, the selection of fabrics and other crafting supplies is second to none. I’ll keep coming back despite the slightly icky store.

Advertised sewing machines were in stock & available for pick today Their shelves were empty and none of the available machines were actually in the store. I drove 40 miles for nothing available or in stock

I first went in to take a sewing class, it was great, we had a wonderful instructor. Though no one received any while supplies last supplies. Aside from that, I felt much more comfortable with my machine and plan to attend a sewing social in the future. Ive been in several times since - newly addicted to fabrics and more!!! Too many crafty projects I want to do! Everyone is very friendly and helpful!

Love JoAnns in Maplewood but I swear they hire the most unfriendly cashiers.The woman who checked me out tonightneeds some Christmas spirit. I tried carrying on a conversation while she rang up $200 of merchandise & nothing.No feedback from anything I said. Plus another employee came over to ask her something & was sort of short with her.Wish I knew what her name was.No cashier name on receipt. Joanns should put their name or employee number on receipts so you know who you can complain about. If shes married I feel sorry for her husband. Unfriendly cold personality.

Let me tell you why I hate this store.1) the aisles are always a mess and there never seems to be an associate around to help.2) dont bother ordering online to save yourself the hassle. They never actually get the orders. Waited 3 days once for one pack of beads to be picked.3) the store associates seem to be the rejects of all the other craft stores in the area. Rude, slow and not professional4) On the slim chance they do pick your online order youre still expected to wait in their endless check out line. Which is unacceptable, I buy ahead of time to save myself the torture of dealing with your cashiers.5) they have coupons, but the exceptions list is a mile long. So dont count on it actually working.Save yourself the hassle. Go to micheals or even Hobby lobby they are less than 5 min away. I know I will never return to this store again.

I went there on 05-19-18 with my two toddlers. All I needed was some fabric and a staple gun. THIS PLACE IS TERRIBLE! EVERY SINGLE worker in there has a terrible attitude and we are obviously bothering them by being there and giving them business. Its dirty, dark, the customer service is non existent. This store is the Dennys of all hobby stores. Go to Micheals or Hobby Lobby if you want to have someone help you. There was NO line for fabric cutting. But it took 20 min regardless. I literally looked at a staff member stare at me ... but refused to help until she felt like it. What happened here?!?!?! A year ago they had amazing staff and It was awesome. All those people must have left. Example: Do you have staple guns? Response: Yeah. By the curtains at the other end of the store (while walking away). Gee thanks. What a dump!

This place looked like it had been through an earthquake. There was stuff laying in the isles in nearly every isle. A few of the isles were not passable due to the mess. Many of the items didnt have prices marked or were in the wrong location so I couldnt tell what the price was. I waited in line for an unreasonable amount of time to have fabric cut because there was only one person working the counter. I dont expect to return to this location.

The Maplewood store was ridiculous for customer service. I had a hard to find item, and instead of giving useful suggestions or even offer other solutions, she kept throwing out nonsense suggestions. Then when it was time to checkout they had a line of customers waiting (like during holiday season) with one cashier.

It didnt seem like the lady at the cutting desk was too thrilled with a clueless customer (such as myself) approaching with questions (no idea what Im doing when it comes to this type of stuff) near closing time, but she wasnt unfriendly; just a bit short, maybe my lack of knowledge was beneath her years+ experience... Im not sure. The woman, Lisa, at the front counter/ customer service desk was very helpful, friendly, and patient with me. she even went above and beyond so that I ended up with an EXTRA $12 in savings in addition to great sale prices. I was very pleased with my trip to this location, as it was much cleaner and more organized than any other location Ive visited. Thanks Lisa! Ill stick to the Maplewood store.
