The good: prices are reasonable and they had what we were looking for for our patio project. Also, they gave us a discount to make up for their first mistake. That leads me to the bad: we went to their yard and found the rock we wanted. We placed an order for the rock that was in that specific bin. They delivered us the wrong rock, apparently because their drivers put the rock we liked in the wrong bin. So they gave us a discount (not free) on a delivery of the right stuff. The delivery driver proceeded to dump the right stuff ON TOP of the wrong stuff while we weren’t home. So we had the pleasure of both separating the right grave from the wrong gravel, and had to find a use for the wrong stuff that we partially paid for.Good rock. Poor handling of logistics. Will probably come here as a last resort in the future unfortunately.

Brady was very kind and efficient when I went in to order landscaping products on a Friday to be delivered on Monday. I received a call on Monday morning that the 15 pieces Of ace of diamonds edging was gone because there was a “big run” of it over the weekend. I understand that it is busy as everyone seems to be doing lawn projects now. But the reason I pre-ordered was to guarantee the product would be available for my landscaper on Monday morning. As Jerry Seinfeld once said. “See, you know how to take the reservation, you just dont know how to hold the reservation and thats really the most important part of the reservation, the holding. Anybody can just take them.” This error made me scramble to find edging. I eventually found it at Middleton Coop. Stay safe!

Ive been going to Madison Block and Stone every year since 2010 for landscaping supplies. Every year we head there for our Purple Cow compost and mulch. Weve also built a firepit using stones for drainage; crushed limestone for building the foundation for our greenhouse; and pavers for a our gazebo. The layout is great and provides plenty of space for multiple vehicles to drive around without worrying about hitting something, the staff has always been really helpful and friendly, and the prices are on-par. Today was the first time I ever had an issue, and it was caused by me, but they made it really easy to remedy after I explained things (thanks, Brent!). I highly recommend them for any small or large landscaping projects!

We ordered edging, stone and mulch, paid for it in advance and expected it to all be delivered three days later. The day it was supposed to be delivered, we get a call that they ran out of edging over the weekend. What? We paid for it and it was there three days ago? No apologies and we are left to scramble, take off work and to find it from another store so we have it for the landscaper. Disappointed.

Everything you could ever need for your back yard. Prices seem reasonable. Staff is friendly and helpful.Newbies take a look around and when you know what you want pull up to the scale on the side of the building so they can weigh you and so they know what your getting so they can help load.

My wife and I decided to replace our old gas fireplace with a new high efficiency model. We had to replace the tile around the fireplace. We went to Madison Block and Stone to look at tile and granite. Jayme Anderson helped my wife consider her options and showed her two kinds of granite that might work. She brought home the samples and we chose the color that fit our home the best. They came out and measured and a couple weeks later came out to install the stone around the fireplace. The guys were early, polite and very careful during the installation. They custom measured the pieces on site for a perfect fit. When it was all done my wife said she loves it and I agree it looks fantastic.I would recommend Madison Block and Stone. They cared about making sure we were happy.

I recently purchased three 12 square tiles to make a small pedestal. Each tile, brand new, cost me $6.95 each. I wanted 2 of them cut in half; thats all, nothing fancy for around a toilet or corner or anything like that. I figured it wasnt worth the hassle for me to rent or buy a wet saw to cut 2 tiles. I could have ordered 6 x 12 tiles, but I didnt want to wait for the order to get in. So, I brought them in to Madison Block and Stone and they agreed to cut them for me. I didnt ask the price because I figured it would be inexpensive. After all, it is 2 simple straight cuts. It took a total of 3 weeks to get my 2 tiles cut in half. Yes, 3 whole weeks!!! And, to top it off, I picked them up today (7/18/2013) and got charged $20.05 to cut TWO tiles. That cost me more than the tiles cost. What a complete RIPOFF!!! I am so irate, I cant imagine what they would have charged to tile my kitchen where half the tiles needed to be cut. Thank God I didnt use them! BEWARE OF MADISON BLOCK & STONE!!! Madison Ripoff Company!!!

Ordered a fireplace hearth, 3 week wait, then to find they forgot to add one inch overhang, waited another 2 weeks to make a new one, then went to pick up and was told they chipped it while pulling out another order. Waited another couple days, then got the pieces, but were slightly different colors due to being from different blocks of stone. Final tally took 6 weeks. You be the judge...

I worked with Darren from MBS, Inc. on a fire pit patio project this summer at my home. Darren and the entire staff at Madison Block and Stone were absolutely GREAT to work with. They were responsive, courteous, fair, and very knowledgeable. I highly recommend these guys. They do a lot of commercial work and many times companies that work with contractors are not very do-it-yourselfer friendly. This was not the case at all. I had a very good experience here.

What a great resource for competent do-it-yourselfers or for newbies! I have used the materials sold by the Madison Block and Stone and the advice they have provided to design and create wonderful outdoor spaces that have enlivened the spirit of my yard! I look forward to going there for any reason small or large. Truth be told, I sometimes drive through the lot and visit their showroom floor to look for the impetus for new creative ideas. When I am done with this posting I am headed there to by some Local Fieldstone as trim for my large front yard garden project.

I put in a large paver patio at home, do-it-yourself-er style. I was very pleased with their price for the pavers. Customer service was pretty good in their showroom, no one really jumped at the opportunity to help us. I ended up emailing my plans in and they helped me figure out how much of each brick I needed. That was extremely helpful. My experience on the front end was great. The only thing that upset me was that when we called in to return the extra pavers we have (nearly a pallet), we were told we were beyond the return time limit (90 days)...even for the refundable pallet deposit of $15 each. I first asked about the pavers several days under 90 from the delivery date. They were nice and agreed to allow the return but pointed out we were over due, apparently the delivery date isnt the one that matters. I chose not to return the bricks since the total I would get wasnt really worth the effort for me. But I thought the pallets would be no problem, just need to find time to get them there. We called in advance, a little beyond the 90 days and no luck. They wont take them back. It was disappointing. Ultimately I thought they were easy to work with and helpful for the non-contractor.
