Never had a bad experience from here. Usually have what Im looking for, good sales and rebates. From the few interactions I had to have with employees about some questions on a product, they were knowledgeable and willing to help.Customer service and returns are awesome. Once bought a gas grill, did not like it after I tried it, brought it in with my receipt, and was able to return it smelling like burgers and all.Another time I tried a few quick connects for water piping, water pressure was to high and popped them off, those too were able to be return without question and they were unusable at that point. So they definitely stand behind products and if it does not hold up they will take care of you.Highly recommend this place based on my experiences.

When I could not find a landscaper to help me reset a leaning retaining wall, I researched the materials I would need to do the job myself, I called in to Menards twice for original materials and for additional items and they helped me with courtesy, respect,and professionalism. Other in store purchases have been equally as impressive.

I love Menards. There are always employees around if you need help with anything (unlike other big store brands that you cant find a single employee anywhere). The prices are slightly lower than the competition and its simply a more welcoming environment. Store is clean and well lit. Gotta love the 11% rebates too! Yes, it does make you go back to the store, but Im going there again anyway!!

Since we bought our home last year, Menards has been our go to place for just about everything weve done to the house. Love the store, the sales, the rebates... Almost everything. However, my only complaint is that the lumber yard can be slightly disorganized. Many times we have gone to pick up lumber and it hasnt been where it should logically be. Many times, the employees werent sure where it was supposed to be either. Other than that, we love this store!

I cant tell you how many times we have been at the Menards in Machesney Park in the years we have lived here. They always have what we need! Well run store and friendly staff.

You really have a hard time beating Menards as far as getting a good deal for the money. Today the garden center was buzzing even though it is still too early for annuals to be outside full time. Indoor projects and prep for outside is what should be the priority now. Shovels were bare so I guess others were thinking the same way. Spring is here!

Well I was looking for mulch. Well I asked one of the workers who was cleaning up a mess. He informed me where it was . Even when I checked out the friendly check out clerk she friendly personality made me feel good about going to your store. I will come back when I have another project thank you.

Had a horrible cashier experience. The cashier (Kade) was awkwardly scanning items in the cart, blocking the conveyor belt, which was not running. As a result several of our items were payed for, however never made it to the bagging area. We felt rushed to leave the line. Getting to our vehicle we noticed these items were missing, emptied every bag, and checked thoroughly. Went back in to ask “Kade” where our missing items were, and were responded to with “I don’t know what to tell you.” We then called the Manager “Taylor”, who then said we were more than welcome to come in and watch the video tape to make sure we hadn’t taken the items in the first place, before we could receive a refund. (These missing items were “snack items” and we had just purchased over $100 worth of tools so the accusation that we would have stolen snack items is absurd. ) Would have given zero stars if possible.

Over price, store is not clean, cant find what Im looking for it took me 20-25mins to find it never shopping here again

The staff is awesome and the selection is great! But, like always, the managers are such jerks. I see them treat their employees with such disrespect. Its disgusting.I would strongly recommend not working there.

Most of my landscaping has come from Menards. They have a nice variety of plants and landscaping materials, as well as friendly service. They also have a great selection of Christmas decorations, and a broad variety of other household and pet items. I even got an unbeatable price on my flatwater kayak there.

Not too bad, had a hard time finding emergency exit sign. Went through electrical, then by the doors. No one asked to help. I finally worked up the nerve to ask someone and he told me the direction they were but didnt bother to take me over so had to spend another 10-15 minutes searching the general area until I eventually found.

A nice guy from the paint department came and helped us get our washing machine. Very good customer service.

Kudos to Joe in the paint department. When several other employees could not help me find an item, Joe knew right where to go, walked me all the way there, since it was not in his department. Only 4 because of how difficult it was to find an employee on the floor.

I purchased a gallon of Dutch boy accent base d interior eggshell paint for 27.84 on 10/20 but lost the receipt, it says where and when I purchased it on the label put on by the paint counter. I was given an in store credit for the paint but then when I got my replacement paint I was told I would have to pay 14 dollars difference even though the replacement paint I selected was the exact same price and same brand but a different base. The girl at the return counter Cheyenne was very rude and I had to go all the way home (40 minutes round trip) to get money to pay the difference. She told me it was because I had no receipt so she couldn’t be sure what price I got it for though I’m sure she could have looked up what price the paint was on 10/20. The paint I was originally sold was defective and basically water, the problem should have been corrected by the store since it was the stores fault for selling bad paint and they should pay the difference instead of further inconveniencing me after I already had to deal with returning their bad product. This was ridiculous.

Appliances are stored in back against manufactures recommendations i.e (on its side or stacked when specified to not be) and delivery amid covid causes the use of another service to get appliances inside of house because delivery is not allowed to enter at all, understandalbly. Store refuses the return of the appliance the hour of delivery because I cant get appliance inside house. My foot is broken so 1 star it is.

I buy work gloves at Menards. Their selection is the best I have seen.

Menards is a outdated and horrible company. The website doesn’t have customer reviews for products which is pathetic and unbelievable. they still do inconvenient mail in rebates and if that’s not enough the customer service isn’t very good. Also the way they have treated customers who don’t want to wear a mask like kicking them out of the store and calling the police I will never shop at any menards again and will be happy to see them go under. Lowes and Home Depot are way better options.

Went to buy a toilet. Wanted to get highest possible for a person that is disabled. After walking around store looking for someone to help, found a young salesperson. He knew nothing, so he brought another person over. Explained what I needed, and pretty much was told just buy anyone, they are all same in size (height). Seemed not to care about what I needed, or wanted to take any time to look to see if they could help. Went down street to Home Depot, and had great customer service. They took the time and researched companies, and ordered me one that was much higher. If I could give zero stars I would. Will never be back.

No one knows where anything is..... untreated lumber should be inside or under the garden center..... if it is outside in the way back, its ruined and no Im not going to check......waited 15 minutes for a supervisor to swipe her card and authorize a price correction..... then get lippy

All around great store. The only thing I wish they had a better selection of is metric fasteners but none of the big box stores do unfortunately.

Im not to happy with a lot of your employees there, they seem to like to talk to each other instead of helping customers, and are very rude when it comes to having one price and the shelves then want to argue the price at the register. But now theres one guy there who I go to for things when I cant find them. Its your cart guy. His name is Anthony.(Rambo). Hes the best employee you have there, always willing to go out of his way and help you find anything you need. Even knowing this is not his job, he will help you anyway he can. I would say hes the best, keep it up man. Your #1. Wish they would of kept you on Monday thru Fridays. Now unless I see your car I wouldnt go there.

Barely made it through the door when I was told it was a requirement to wear a mask to shop in your store and if I didnt have one I would have to purchase one from them. Why? For one if I dont want to wear one that is MY business and two if it a requirement to shop in your store then you should pass them out for FREE! I chose option three. I went back to my car and went to Lowes where I happily spent $1000 mask free. I will return to Menards soon, but only to return some items I purchased the other day when I wasnt questioned about masks. I only went here tonight because I knew Home Depot closes early. I completely forgot about Lowes 1 block away. Menards has lost my business forever. Its always a mistake going there.
