I went into the entire process of looking for engagement rings a little nervous. Definitely unsure. I was trying to find or design a ring with opals, and I wasnt too sure if I would be able to find a place that could do that. I am not a big “reviewer”. I typically am only on here to offer stern warnings of places to stay away from. I guess I am old school and expect good service. I don’t think that something that should be there anyway, needs any additional praise. INTA Gems is another story. This place is the be all end all, Alpha/Omega, Beginning and End of jewelry stores downtown LA. I personally travel from Studio City to see them once a year since purchasing my wife’s engagement ring here in 2011, but I would travel from pretty much anywhere to see Connie & Jerry, Eric, Karina and Peter. From the moment I walked in 5 years ago these people have been a part of our lives and they have treated my wife and I like their family. 5 years and 4 rings later, the service hasn’t changed, the jewelry and maintenance is impeccable, and they still greet me like a long lost friend every time I walk in. The latest trip out was to find a matching band for my wife’s wedding ring to solder it together to create a complete set. The band was discontinued years ago and they searched high and low all over the world to find another one. it would only be 6 weeks until it got here, until Karina, found the exact ring in the back of one of their cases. I was out the door in less than an hour with the perfect Valentines/baby momma gift that blew her away! I cannot say enough about the quality, service and friends that I have made at INTA Gems. and I haven’t even mentioned the prices yet!!!

BEST PLACE EVER! When we went to the jewelry district in search of the perfect engagement ring, my anxiety was immediately through the roof! Every place had pushy salesmen and I did not trust the quality of the jewelry at all. I was about to give up when I gave INTA Jewels a try. Thank God I did! When we walked in, we were greeted with kind smiles instead of forceful words. This was the first place that invited us to sit down, have a glass of water, some delicious lychee candy, and take a breath. My shoulders fell from my ears and I relaxed for the first time all day. The employees at INTA took the time to talk us through different stones and settings. I felt listened to and respected every step of the way. In the end, they helped me find a gorgeous sapphire and yellow gold ring that made me cry from its beauty. My mom and grandma weren’t able to make the trip so the employees at INTA went the extra mile once again and made a video of the ring for me to send to them. They spoke with us for an hour, never once pressuring us to buy, and never once wavered in their kindness. We bought the ring for an incredible price and every time I see it I can smile because of there are nothing but fond memories of buying it. My husband was able to custom build my engagement ring, and Peter showed him every single fancy yellow (even different colors) diamond option in the whole jewelry district for what we wanted. They are even happy to take something they already have and customize that for you. They added little details to our wedding bands to make them special for us, and they were such a great deal for such high quality, too. I knew I wanted a sapphire as the center stone on my engagement ring but other than that my fiancé and I had zero clue about the ring buying process. We started off just getting a feel for things at big box jewelry stores and then moved our search to LA’s diamond district. The first store we visited was clearly not interested in working with us and the second ended up recommending Inta Gems for their excellent reputation and selection of gem stones. For us third time was the charm and we pretty much knew it right after talking with Connie and Jerry. This is a family run business, even their young granddaughter was there one day helping out. Overall we felt taken care of and Connie brought our vision to life while also helping us stay close to our budget. My ring is so beautiful and my fiancé and I could not be happier.

I am embarrassed to say that this review is very late because I am such a procrastinator. I found INTA Gems online while searching websites solely on feedback and I was quit intrigued by all the positive reviews on INTA. My husband wanted to buy me a 31 year anniversary ring. I didnt want to go to a franchise diamond company, but the drive downtown didnt thrill me either. I couldnt resist all the POSITIVE feedback though and had to go meet this wonderful establishment. So, off we drove from Thousand Oaks to downtown LA diamond district. I already felt like I knew Peter from all the feedback Id read and our phone calls prior to meeting him. The entire family is so gracious and kind, but my heart belongs to Peter. Peter treated us like he had known us forever. He is so experienced in the field of diamonds and settings that I felt immediately at ease with him. I know that each person that goes to INTA will be treated with kindness, hospitality, and respect. There is absolutely NO PRESSURE from him and that meant a lot to me. I could go on and on about all the little things he did for us to make our visit memorable, but I think each person will experience their own when you visit. Now, let me tell you about my diamond ring. WHOA Nellie its a beauty. We explained to Peter what we had in mind and he found the diamond that I wanted exactly. We then found the perfect setting and band. Its gorgeous. We just loved being with Peter and his family so much that when we went back a week later to pick up my ring we bought a faboulous set of diamond earrings, lol. I didnt care for the usual setting larger diamond earrings are set in. These diamonds were gorgeous and needed their own unique setting to showcase them. Leave it to Peter to come up with the Martini setting. Brilliant, just brilliant. I get so many compliments on my ring and earrings. The quality of my ring is the best diamond Ive ever owned, AND the biggest. YAY. I was sad when it was time to pick up the earrings because I knew we werent going to be back and Id really grown very fond of sitting and chatting with Peter and his family. Peters parents are very, very nice people. They should be very proud of their son, he really shines in his presence with customers. I apologize to you Peter and family for being so delinquent with my review, there is no excuse except I am a procraistinator. You deserve more than a measly 5 stars. You deserve 100 stars. Where do I begin?Inta Gems is a GREAT place. Not only do they have a great selection of stuff, but when comparing with many other jewelers, they definitely stand above and beyond the others. I bought my wife’s engagement ring and wedding band at Inta Gems about 3 years, and will not be buying jewelry from anyone else but Jerry, Connie, or their kids Steve and Peter. If you haven’t noticed, I am referring to them by name as this is the type of relationship that I have built with them over the past 3 years. This sound cliché, but for people I’ve only met 3 years ago, they seem more like family. They are friendly, knowledgeable, fair, but most importantly HONEST people. For that, they will get all of my business when it comes to jewelry.Over the past three years, I have returned to Inta Gems several times for myself and also bringing in friends who were looking for stuff for their wives. Every single time we walk through the door, I see Jerry and Connie’s smiling faces and it brings me absolute joy. My friends have nothing but positive things to say about the stuff they have purchased thus far and have nothing but rave reviews about Jerry, Connie, and staff. One thing I want to point out here, is a conversation that I had with Jerry during my last visit on 3/9/2013. I told Jerry that he and his wife work so hard, and that they need to take an extended vacation. Jerrys response was that he loves what he does and that this was more or less like a “hobby”. His comments have stuck with me and now I have a better understanding as to why they are so friendly when people walk through those doors… Because they LOVE what they do.For those who are reading this review, please believe me when I say this… I can GUARANTEE that you will LOVE the service that you receive at Inta Gems. Don’t do what I did in the beginning by going to the mall stores, Tustin Jewelry mart, Jared, Robbin’s Brothers holding a piece of paper with the information that I learned online about diamonds (i.e. 4 C’s, type of diamond, GIA vs EGL, etc…) ---- A complete waste of time, as these stores will 9 out of 10 times lead you towards something that has nothing to do with what you are looking for, and will try to sell you a lower grade diamond, just because it is larger. Trust me, a SI2 is not the same as a VVS1. Also, going to the LA Jewelry district to find a jeweler is like trying to sift through a haystack to find a needle.Let me save you some time… Just go see Jerry and Connie, they will help you sort this all out and keep you within your budget... And you can come back to this review and thank me later.Hopefully in your selection process, you will really take my review into consideration. Or you can ignore my suggestion, go elsewhere, and have to endure the same headaches I had 3 years ago.
