Took my new (used) car in for a checkup. They guys didn’t rush the car in and out, they took their time, went over the car with a fine toothed comb. Didn’t try to upsell me, just located a couple of issues and let me know what they thought was the best course of action. My old boss and my ex girlfriend had both told me Friendly Auto was reliable and honest and I have to say that they were right. Haven’t had a reliable mechanic in a couple of years and these guys will be my mechanics moving forward. Super nice, honest and reliable. I definitely recommend this shop.

Best auto repair shop ever. Fast, friendly with great follow up.

Where do I even start. My windshield was cracked, knowing me, I panicked. I called this shop due to getting a referral from a trustworthy friend. They immediately took my car in the same day and replaced the whole windshield that day. They actually drove me back home and dropped off my car for me. The service here is immaculate. The staff members are super personable and very nice. The owner Glenn, is amazing, professional and will go above and beyond. I felt like I was at home walking into the shop. This isnt your sleezy, their trying to get your money kinda spot. Hell tell you right off the bat exactly whats wrong and be straight forward with you. Which I appreciated so much.My daughter ended up also bringing her car here for an oil change and has been coming ever since. I must say for an auto body shop, the bathroom is very clean and the lobby area has coffee for guests and a TV to make the time go by. The prices are very reasonable too.This shop is by far highly recommended! Best shop in long island!

Had a pretty unusual situation with my car and a lady called these guys for me. They guided me through what to do and were very kind. Ended up bringing my car over about 30 minutes later, helped me out a lot and fixed the problem thank you very much guys. Will definitely bring my car back over here.

These guys are amazing… trust worthy and honest. Twice, my dealership tried to upsell me on an oil change and inspection. Both times I brought it to Friendly’s instead without the hassle or pressure. They do great work. My most recent experience was when I tore up my undercarriage (debris on the Meadowbrook). They took me without an appointment and had me back on the road a short time later. If you live in Long Beach, this is the place to go.

Every time we’ve been here the guys really have been super friendly. The first time our cars battery died a few blocks away and the worker personally drove us to jumpstart the car. We later got our battery replaced here and everything has been fine. We also had a little issue with being able to start the key bc the ignition was too stiff. We were helped immediately and quickly, in and out in 5 minutes. Never had a bad experience here. Thanks guys!!!

I got a flat tire a few weeks ago at my apartment and a lady passed by me and told me to call Friendly’s because they’re super nice and will help me in a second. I’m new to the area and have never heard of it and had already called my insurance company to come, but kept their name in mind. I went to them today to install my new license plate because I didn’t have the correct tools and expected to pay $20-$30 because that’s what I was told on the phone, but after the guy installed it he told me I was all good and didn’t have to pay. Not sure if it was because I was wearing my nurse scrubs or any other reason, but either way it was so nice and much appreciated! Everyone should go here for your car needs!

I just picked up my car from an auto body shop to have repairs done my car engine went on and I panicked I saw friendly auto repair and body shop and two great mechanics came out to help me Rob and Glenn . The guys over at Friendly are some of the most top notch mechanics on LI. They fixed my broken A/C compressor in a day when my Jeeps blew. When I explained my budget was tight the guys got online and found the cheapest suitable part possible and dropped the price for me. I am a DIY hobbyist with my cars and in the past I have come in there when I hit a road block or need a machine press for a bearing/bushing. Most shops hate this and treat you disrespectfully because there isn’t as much money for them. At Friendlys, they took the time to speak with me about what I was working on and the best way to do the work at home. They also really support us veterans. I only wish I found these guys earlier in LB!

This place is great. They have been servicing my cars for many years. They do great work, they do it right the first time, they bend over backwards to help. When i dropped off my car the last time, I was going to walk home. They wouldnt hear of it since it was raining and drove me home, then picked me up.

I was referred to Friendlys by a friend who highly recommended them. I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised. I made an appointment (that was actually honored- a rarity), and got my brakes done quickly and efficiently. They went above and beyond the service I have received at the dealership in the past. They offered me a ride back to my home, and found a nail in my tire. I would DEFINITELY recommend this mechanic (Rob) and look forward to going back there in the future.

I love coming here when I need work done on my car because it is the opposite of everywhere else I’ve been—they never try to rip you off and always have time for you to come in. Both mechanics and front desk staff are, well, friendly, and very helpful! I love the pictures in front with their family members and dogs. Great to see a place where employees can feel at home.

Called ahead to schedule service and was told to bring the car at 8am.Got a quoted price and told 2-3 hours.After dropping the car off I was told it would take the whole day. I let it go since the I didnt need the car. Came back at 6pm to find that the work was done but the tech forgot to swap the some of the hardware that clips the bumper in from the parts that were being replaced. During the drive home noticed that one of the fog lights was not working. Came back to the shop and had them fix the issue by reconnecting the foglight back into its harness. Since the business was closing for the night I was told to bring the car next weekend to have the retaining brackets installed and it would be 2 hours. Brought the car back next Saturday and again was told that it would take all day. Picked the car and all seemed ok. Today when I was detailing the car I noticed that 3 clips that retain the top portion of the bumper were missing. One was replaced by a bolt that was too small and did nothing at all. Other 2 were simply left blank. Upon further inspection I saw that some of the factory clips were replaced by generic ones. While not catastrophic, the car is less than a year old with less than 6000 miles and this is just unprofessional. Further deeper inspection revealed that the ballasts there were installed are not not secured to anything and are just freely swinging off of the wiring harness.While these issues on their own are minor, together they show lack of respect for your vehicle and your time. While this shop may be sufficient in general mechanical work, such as oil and break jobs. I cannot recommend this establishment for any sort of work that requires attention to detail. I understand that small clips can be lost during work but they should not be left blank or replaced by parts that do not fit in hopes that the client will not notice this.

Ive never left a Yelp review before but I had such a great experience at Friendlys that I just have to take a moment to sing their praises. They are seriously the nicest people who will go above & beyond to provide excellent & affordable service. Though its never the most enjoyable experience dealing with car issues, Im so happy to have found a place I know I can trust to do honest & quality work.

I have taken my car here to be serviced for over 10 years. They are the first honest repair shop that I have found and never try to sell me anything I dont need. They also provide a pick up and drop off service which is extremely convenient. They are cheaper then any dealer by far and are family owned and operated which is great. Highly recommended.

The staff here are some of the most honest people Ive ever dealt with. Unfortunately, as a woman, when I take my car into the shop, Ive got to be careful that people arent going to tell me to fix and pay for things that arent broken. Ive never been worried about that with Friendlys.Theyll look at your car for free and tell you, very honestly, what needs to be done. They wont do ANY work without speaking with you first. They do everything in a timely manner and keep you very updated about what is happening with your car.

In addition, their prices have always been fair and unlike other automotive shops I have been to, I never feel like they try to sell me services I dont need. These guys know what they are doing, are extremely professional and run an excellent business.

Stopped in because one of my tires was leaking and not only immediately took a look but quickly found and repaired the problem: a hunk of metal in the tread. The staff couldnt have been nicer. Theyd never seen me before but treated me like a longtime customer! There is no doubt I will return for work on my two vehicles.Kudos to the staff, and thanks for making me feel comfortable and valued.

Total joke! Just needed a photo inspection for insurance. Man on the phone, yesterday, told me 9 to 2 on Saturdays. Walked in just before 1pm, and man at counter said they only do them until 1pm. Eitherway i was there in time! Great way to lose customers and possible future business. Your loss!!!

This was probably the best experience I’ve ever had with a auto body shop! Rob was beyond amazing, helpful, and truly kind. He was able to get me in and out (fixing 2 tires) in less than 20 min. I called ahead and the young lady was super nice. All in all an amazing experience (which I never thought I’d ever say about 2 flat tires hehe)

EXTREMELY RUDE, & couldnt care less about getting a job done quick efficient and honestly. (Unless your in their inner circle it seems). But these guys have ZERO INTEGRITY and told me to F-off to my dealer who would take 3 weeks what they would do in 24hrs. Real classy bunch over there....STEER CLEAR!!!

Beware.Friendlys may do good auto work, BUT, they will do unnecessary auto work for those who dont know better, and charge top dollar.My elderly, handicapped Mom brought her car in for inspection. Her car has less than 12k miles. They told her the rear brakes were paper thin and needed replacing. They charged almost $400.000.Now Ive been around cars and doing repairs my entire life.Its impossible to need rear brakes at that low mileage.Friendlys robbed an unsuspecting senior.I have other first hand experience with Friendlys attempting to do unnecessary exhaust, brake, and transmission repairs that other HONEST shops have proved unnecessary.Unless you know better and can challenge their recommendations, Please Stay Away!!!

Rob Gambassi is the only mechanic I trust with my vehicle! I have a C43 AMG and I service my vehicle at friendlys. Quick fast service and Rob knows his stuff. Only body shop I’d go to in Long Beach.

Best auto body facility in town hands down. They did an amazing job on my stingray that sadly got hit while it was parked. They gave me a great deal and the work came out like factory, i almost couldnt tell if my car was ever hit. I have used these guys for auto repairs on my other car they always treated me as a #1 customer. I highly recommend them if you want the best quality work out there for the best prices available. These guys are honest and frankly i wont trust anyone else with my cars besides these friendly guys

True to their name, I have always had friendly and reliable service. I have never had a bad experience here. A friend recd us and they have been the place we go to for all of our repairs. We are going to get a vehicle inspected here before we move from NY, and I cant be more confident we made the right choice. :)

Now! These guys are not the cheapest nor are they the fastest; but they arent the worst. If you want cheaper service get the heck off the barrier island! Ive taken it there for years and though the owners do seem to be a bit cold (complaint of previous reviewer), who goes there for personal interaction? They seem to be honest, and know foreign cars, too.

Yesterday morning while leaving an appointment with my husband and 17 month old, as we were about to get to my car we noticed the passenger back window was completely shattered right over the baby seat... When we were notified that a utility truck drove by and boulder flew off of it and hit the window, i was obviously hysterical thinking what could have happened had we waited for my hubby in the car. Friendlys auto not only looked at my car right away but drove me to enterprise. When we realized it would be awhile he then offered to loan me his car so i wouldnt have to cancel and additional appointments I had since it was also my birthday weekend.... I cant tell you enough how amazing it is to have them in our community. When this stressed out mama needed a helping hand and even a hug they treated me as family.

After a weekend trip, I noticed a shimmy in my wheels. I thought I needed an alignment, but the mechanic checked it and it was just a slightly bent rim. A couple wheel weights took care of it! What a relief that it was a quick fix and that I had someone trustworthy to look at it.

Friendly is the BEST.......Pat makes sure to take the extra time to get you the best deal possible and everyone is kind, professional and everything done in a timely manner but not rushed - they do it right not fast and sloppy! This is the only place I feel comfortable as a woman that knows nothing about cars, as far as feeling like Im not being taken advantage of.

Honest, thorough service. Brought my 96 Bronco in for inspection, they installed a third brake light bulb for free so I would pass. A few weeks later they charged me a very fair price for a brake line install (previous line cracked). These guys rock!

They are liars and do not stand behind their quotes. I was told I needed an air injection pump and quoted a price with labor and told it could be done on Thursday. They insisted on a deposit so I left $450.00. Took the day off from work. Brought the car in and they said it would be $400 more. Then after arguing they came down $200. I left with my car. I will NEVER go back there. Now that Pat is not there they can’t be trusted.

Worst place to go to!!! They broke my trunk opener, made a dent in one door paneI and the other door panel shakes on a brand new car. They were rude and wanted to charge me for fixing what they broke. I went to have replacement door inserts in which should of been an easy 2 hour job. now I have to find another place to fix what they have. If you want your car coming out worse than it was going in this is the place.

Okay let me start by saying i asked for a check up and i wasnt asked on what to fix they fixed it and demanded money with out my permission! Second I bought tires from here and 5months later the tires are horrible with only 25,000 miles driven on them! Tires do not last 25,000 miles! Pat makes up prices off the top of his head and never keeps his words! Tht sonOfAB*tchStay away!
