Bought a 2008 Avalanche and within 3 months this “excellent condition vehicle” required $8000 in repairs including new struts new AC motor new shocks new window motors and new ball joints. In the 2 years we have had this vehicle it has been in and out of the shop 5 more times after that initial repair. If you are looking for a used car, you should look almost anywhere else.

I am so very disappointed in Crippen. My son bought a new GMC truck and wanted to make sure should anything happen or his truck need servicing he could get a loaner to get to work and back. Edwin talked at length about how he would make sure my son had a loaner should anything happen to his truck, even if he had to rent one for him from Enterprise. Fast forward a few weeks when storms ravaged southern Michigan and a 100’ tree took out 4 vehicles - totaled them all. My son was given the run around from the first phone call and guess what?! No loaner “could be found” and the statement about getting him one from Enterprise? Long forgotten (although my sons girlfriend was there and heard it all) my son didn’t get rental on his insurance because of this promise. Edwin even told my son “it’s not like I dropped the tree on your car!” Really? Very childish! Crippen really dropped the ball. Be aware they will tell you WHATEVER YOU WANT TO HEAR to sell a vehicle. They could have replaced all 4 of our vehicles and been hero’s in Jackson to the family that lost all of their vehicles, but they blew that with their unethical customer service! Beware!

My boyfriend recently bought a brand new truck from Crippen. While in the process of purchasing his vehicle, he spoke in length to the finance manager about what would happen in the instance his vehicle needed any work done to it. It was stated to him that they would absolutely provide him with a rental if he needed it and if they didn’t have one they would even go through enterprise to make sure he was taken care of. Fast forward a month later and the severe storms that came through smashed his truck leaving him without a car. He immediately called Crippen and was given the run around. Every time he called they told him they were still working on getting him something, 5 days later they won’t return his calls. The manager of the dealership even stated to him “well we didn’t drop the tree on your car” AND “how do we even know you’re going to buy from us again”. He had every intention of going through them for his second truck but will def be seeking other dealerships to work with since Crippen did NOT follow through on their word.

I went into Crippen Buick Service department to have my 1st oil change since I purchased my new SUV. The experience was very smooth. I dropped my SUV off at the garage service garage, checked in and was able to wait in a comfortable waiting area where I was able sit in a chair with a swinging shelf that allowed me to use my computer to work while I was waiting for my SUV work to be completed. In less than an hour work was completed on my SUV, email was answered and I was on my way. The only thing I would recommend is to have actual work stations desks for more working people like myself to be able to set up and quickly get to work. Times moves so much faster when your mind is occupied.

I came in looking for a Mazda CX-5 Touring in snowflake white and drove off in a deep crystal blue one! Nick was my salesman and was very friendly and knowledgeable. He was fun to work with and easy to get along with. He made sure he answered all my questions, walked me through all the car features, and made sure I was getting what I wanted. When I bought the car I had warranty bumper to bumper the wheels are inside the bumper perimeter. So Crippen only warranties what they want. The staff became very rude once we did not agree. I will never go or recommend Crippen. They are not honest or honor their warranties. Also the person in the services department call my husband a lier, because when he explained that they were below torc she question him, as are you sure? I love my car even if the take off is slow, but never will I go back to to Crippen. Bad dealer for a nice car.

Service dept. Has never impressed me. Long wait for basic services and then told techs had appointments to go to so basically your truck just sat in a bay for 45 min till someone else could do the work. Not real polite or welcoming and never a one thank you. One thing that saved me from giving all negative score was your shuttle. We were shuttled to the store and back by a very nice driver..do not get rid of that service.

Very good sales experience. Our salesman was informative, warm, experienced, and knew when to step away and let us talk. The sales manager of course negotiated but was honest and forthright. And I was shocked that even the finance guy was helpful and honest. He of course was selling his wares but didnt push hard.The sales lot has a good selection of used and new cars, trucks, and SUVs. Their sales floor was clean, well lit, and well laid out. Everybody there was polite and welcoming. Ill gladly recommend this dealer!

We took our 2016 GMC in for service using the night drop box. We were very specific regarding the work needing to be done. I expected a phone call during to day to let us know the cost of repairs and never heard a peep from anyone. When I called and picked up the truck we reviewed the invoice and it was substantially lower than expected given the work order. So, we explained again what they needed to do (remove alternator and animal nest) as well as the routine maintenance required by GM. Very frustrating to have to leave the truck another day to complete work we told them to do the day before. I worked in a service dept in the pst and know phone calls are necessary to keep the customer informed. We knew it could cost us several hundred dollars and expected a large bill. Bottom line: get on the phone when needed and keep customers informed! Not sure if I recommend repairs here based on lack of communication.

I assume the did the work correctly, but Im a little worried because they couldnt even take the time to put my panel trim back on correctly. I tried to attach 2 pictures but was unable to. I had to go to autozone and buy plastic retainer clips and do the job myself. Makes me worried about what else they didnt do.

Oil change, tire rotation. By the time I got home, horrific noise from my vehicle. Returned to Crippen. When I pulled into the service bay everyone heard the noise and came out to see what the heck it was. Found a rip in my wheel well cover rubbing tire. Wasnt making noise before oil change/rotation, but insisted it must have been an old issue. Jerry rigged it for me but informed me that if the problem returns, I am responsible for the cost to replace the part. The staff was very courteous, but I find this quite the coincidence and totally unacceptable for a new vehicle.

My muffler suddenly became loud, so I called to inquire why my car with 36,800 miles should be loud. Crippen service promptly made an appointment to have my muffler checked. Within the three days (and above freezing temps) between my call and the appointment, the muffler seemed to be okay, yet you still checked the muffler. I had not known snow buildup under my car and in the wheel wells can cause a tremendous noise! Thank you for the free checkup anyway!

My husband and I found the Caravan online and decided to come test drive it. Please keep in mind that we saved the almost $8000.00 that we spent at your dealership we are by no means tax time ballers and saved every penny for this vehicle. When I arrived at the dealership I was directed to a salesman named Al he set me up on the test drive and told me before I left that the A/C didnt work that they were waiting for the A/C compressor to come in. After the test drive and consulting my husband via phone we decided to purchase said vehicle. I came in the next day June 13 2020 with cash for payment on the van we couldnt pick it up as it wasnt fixed yet. While test driving the van when Al opened the back hatch the carpet was completely detatched and hanging down I was assured that this would get fixed also. Al told us he was leaving for vacation and we would be dealing with another salesman named Ricky. Approximately a week later after trying to keep contact with someone (leaving lots of messages with zero call backs) regaurding the van we had already paid for we started feeling like we were getting the run around. I was told the van was ready so I came and picked up the van. Only to be told the key fob was broken and not to worry that they ordered one. I came to get it only to be told they couldnt program it I had to go to Champion (Saginaw location). After a few more days and many phone calls I finally got an appointment at Champion via Ricky. On June 23 2020 10am when we arrived they really didnt know why we were there I gave them the key fob Ricky gave me just to find out it was for a Chrysler and that it was already programmed to another vehicle (after market). The nice gentleman told me they had a key fob on hand but it was almost $300.00 to purchase and get programmed. Ricky said that Crippin would take care of the costs. Champion had to call and get the payment approved and after back and forth with whoever was on the phone they got the okay. At this point my husband and I had been sitting at Champion for almost 4 hours. Ricky offered me an oil change for my troubles which was such a slap in the face.The A/C has never worked (it was supposedly recharged and the A/C compressor was replaced), the check engine soon light came on almost the minute I pulled off the lot (it now comes on and off all the time), its the oil pressure sensor, the windshield wipers were put on backwards, the gas cap was replaced but still shows it does work properly.My husband and I are beside ourselves as to what to do as this was not taken care from the beginning correctly. This van was purchased because Im on the Kidney Transplant list at the University of Michigan and need a reliable vehicle to get back and forth to appointments at a moments notice. We were passed off from sales person to sales person and dealership to dealership. We feel like we were lied to on all levels and dont believe anything was fixed or replaced. We were left at the mercy of a salesman who didnt even know the difference between a Dodge and Chrysler Key fob (it is clearly written on the back) that had no intentions on making anything right he just wanted us out the door. These are not good business practices (my husband and I are business owners and we would never conduct ourselves in this manor) *******Update******Not even a year later Oil Pressure Sensor doesnt work so check engine light is still on, 3 broken motor mounts, 2 broken control arms, broken tie rods, 2 broken Ball joints, 2 tires and an alignment. $2000.00 to make this vehicle safe, GAS CAP light still comes on the dashboard. And the AC has never blown cold air. This was a terrible experience and we hope we can help anyone who is looking for a vehicle.

WOW is all I can say! I was told my hood WOULD match the rest of my car and it does. You can not even tell that it was painted!!! Its something all of us fear when only parts of our car gets re painted. I got my car back they vacd, cleaned my floor mats and even took the dust off my dash. I am very happy so far with the service I received and will tell anyone who needs body work to head your way from how I was treated and I did get in with in a few days vs the 2-3 weeks I was told at the other place I had an estimate with. Great job!!!!

My vehicle was making a crackling sound. I took it to Crippen to have them take a look. It appeared the timing belt needed replacement. As did some other repairs but I am hoping to hold off on the other repair to until I replenish my car repair bank account. Crippen was courteous, explained everything to me. Problems arose with parts and delivery of parts and with the world situation at this time. it is understandable the delay in delivery as well as staff to do the work. Crippen worked with me and did a fantastic job. I have never had a bad experience and hope to continue many more years at Crippen.

I bought a 2007 envoy about a month ago. I test drove it and brought it to the sales guys attention that it had a vibration in the front left and that it pulled left. They said they would take care of it on a day off. So I bought it after the sales guy told me that. I took a day off work to have them fix it. They said its just a tire out if balance wont be an issue, I told them it was going to be more than a tire out of balance. So they looked at it balanced all 4 wheels and said it was good but didnt call me till 5 min before they closed. I live 35 min away. So I wasnt happy about that! I had to take another day off from work on a sat because I had no wheels to drive. So that was two days I lost out on a lot of money at work. As I drove my envoy home sat morning after they opened, I noticed it still had a vibration and it still pulled! I called the says guy and told him. He said, well we balanced the tires just like you told us to do, I did not say that, I said it would need more work than just tires being balanced as I know what Im talking about, he said well that should have fixed the issue. He then said, well it does have 167,000 miles on it, its not worth it to put that much money in to it. So needless to say I waisted two days of work for nothing! I will never do business there again!

My son-in-law brought me in on last Saturday afternoon to drive a terrain. I leased a chev equinox almost 3 years ago. I wanted to see how I liked the terrain before leasing another equinox. Our salesman Matt was so kind. He was not pushy what so ever. And I can not tell you how nice that was! The minute we drove the car it felt safer..and it felt more comfortable. Most of all I loved how I was able to get a much better deal! We spent 2 hours out of our Saturday to drive. . .fall in love. . and lease my terrain. When I leased my chev it took 6 grueling hours. I think GM should evaluate work flows in how to decrease times waiting at the dealership when purchasing cars.
