Ive always liked West Marine. I picked up a new anchor today at a good price.

Friendly and helpful staff.

No gripe about the location. The service is good and they have lots of the things you need. My issue is with West Marine. The price gouging they engage in is jaw dropping. I once paid 70 some odd dollars for a standard fuel hose because I needed it that day. Only ever go to West Marine in an emergency. The emergency being that you really want to be on the water 😉.

Not helpful. High prices. Purchased Mercury 3.5 outboard. Took it to the lake. Brand new motor wouldnt start. A new motor should start. West Marine was not taking responsibility for selling a bad motor . Now we have to take it in and deal with Mercury directly. Who knows how long that will take. Bad choice going there. Dont go there.

We were planning on grabbing a bunch of stuff at West Marine. Theyre pretty well wiped out of stock. No tubes. No life jackets. No truck deliveries in 4 weeks. The shelves look like theyre going out of business. No public restroom even for customers. Exact cash or card only. Masks mandatory for entry. Staff was friendly.

I had purchased a West Marine Branded receiver and the service plan. After eight months the unit died. I had to wire-in the new receiver and shrink-wrap everything. When I tested the unit for operation and determined that power was getting to the unit, I simply removed the deck. I left the wiring harness, remotes and just removed the deck. I took it the West Marine Lansing. Lynn the customer service person stated that I would have to bring her every single piece, destroying my earlier work and then they would start the process. I stated that couldnt I just take the deck from the new one and process the return that way per the extended warranty. She stated no. After I called the service company they contacted Lynn, she still said no ; he contacted the next West Marine and they had no problem with doing that very thing. The West Marine Extended care rep also was disappointed that Lynn was so negative and he took it upon himself to locate a more customer-friendly individual. Its too bad because Ive spent lots of money there. I will not be back, nor should anyone who desires to be treated right.

Didnt have parts i neefed

Very very poor service. Took half hour to return a pump on to a gift card because they couldnt figure how to return the sales tax. Couldnt just reach in the drawer n give me the $4. Ill b back once again. ONLY TO USE THE STUPID GIFT CARD. WEST MARINE - TWICE THE PRICE WITH HALF THE SERVICE.
