My car had a resonant vibration at certain speeds. They correctly diagnosed it as the driveshaft and did tests to prove that before committing significant money to the repair. They did the repair and completely fixed the problem. Their prices are reasonable and they keep you informed via texts and emails which makes the most of all of our time. I will be using them in the future.

New to East Lansing and was looking for a car shop for my wifes vehicle to fix an issue with the muffler. Bill and his team were very professional and able to get the vehicle done on very short notice and sooner than initially expected. Incredible experiences. Always felt as though my vehicle was in very capable hands. My vehicle was in pretty rough shape when I first brought it in to Auto Surgeon, but they continued to work with me until all was resolved. They were both swift and thorough in their diagnostics and repairs, and they consistently articulated the relevant information to me in a comprehensible manner. As someone that is unfamiliar with auto parts, that was a big deal to me. I also always felt as though I was receiving excellent customer service. I’m sure that repairing my vehicle has been a real pain to deal with, but they never once made me feel like an inconvenience, though, and I greatly appreciated that. I always felt welcomed to come back if/when something would arise. When I came in for second time on a weekday morning, Bill was even so kinda enough to give me a lift to campus. I didn’t have to miss class, so that was an incredibly act in my eyes because it saved me a lot of trouble.If you want the best service, both in repairs and customer relations, Auto Surgeon is where you want to go. For as long as I’m in the area, if I ever have an issue, that’s where I plan to go.

This place does excellent work. Two things in particular make it stand out. First, Bill is considerate of budget restrictions. He only does work when its necessary, and he is forthright on whether its necessary. Second, Bill loves to explain what work they do, which helped me learn quite a bit and be a better informed vehicle owner. Highly recommend.

The best auto-repair shop I have ever been to. They are honest and upfront, admitting when a repair would not make sense financially for you to do before charging you for it. They truly seem more interested in helping the customer out than making money. I am honestly not sure how they can afford to stay in business, besides the simple fact that when they get a customer they get that customer for life. On top of this, their knowledge about cars is off the charts, and when they cant find a problem, or dont know what a problem is, they dont give up until they find it.I am a car guy, and I couldn’t find out the problem with my car, so I took it to the Honda Dealer with hopes that they could solve the problem. When they charged me a arm and a leg and still didn’t fix the issue I didn’t know where to turn. That’s when I found Auto Surgeon, who not only found the problem for me, but did it free of charge, calling it a learning experience for them. I was stunned, and at that moment became a customer for life. I might not often need help with my cars but when I do, I turn to Auto Surgeon.

I highly recommend that everyone takes their car to be serviced at auto surgeon. The shop was first recommended by a friend who swore by their honestly, quality of service, and customer service. Needless to say, she was right. Taking your car in to be fixed can be intimidating, especially if you dont know anything about cars (which is me!). Its hard to know if you are getting a good price and if they are being honest with you. Bill and his staff do an excellent job being honest about your vehicles issues, and would never push you to get something done that wasnt necessary. The first time I brought my car to auto surgeon after my vehicle had been diagnosed, Bill showed me a video of exactly what was happening inside my car so I would know what to look out for in the future. Thats great customer service! Bill has done a great job of explaining the issues my car has had, and I feel I have a better understanding if something like that were to ever happen again. Based on my experience, I submit they ought to call this place The Auto Necromancer. There is no reason my Subaru, and Buick before that, should still be rolling but these amazing people make it happen. I feel well taken care of and their communication is amazing. They wont swindle or upsell you, and will be straight with you about how to get the most out of your car. We have been bringing our cars here for years, and theyve never steered us wrong. They dont speak to me condescendingly (which is a pretty peeves because my dads a mechanic) and theyre always fair. Of you need their help quickly, they do pretty well at fitting you into the schedule.

Their Website is pretty accurate: Dont expect a plush lounge-like atmosphere with free espresso and wifi, thats not what this shop is about. They do, however, do an amazing job at repairing your vehicle at exceptionally reasonable pricing with terrific service.Thus far I have taken two different vehicles here for two separate issues; both of which they have both repaired and done so in a very efficient manner. Their prices are extremely fair and their service is amazing. I brought the second car back to them because of the service I received the first time. I will continue to bring vehicles to them because of the service the second time around. I cannot recommend them enough, and will ensure my friends and family continue to come here.

I NEVER WRITE REVIEWS. But I wanted to wait a few months to write a review, just so I didnt jinx myself or my car. But Ive never had such a good experience with my car here. I was calling around to different shops for a certain part, and AutoSurgeon had the best price. Not only were they $200-300 cheaper, but they got me in the same day, and even gave me a ride back to work. It was in and out within just a few hours and after 3 years of issues with my car not starting randomly, violently shaking, going into reduced-power mode they were certain it was my throttle body. They switched it out, programmed it and it has been running like a brand new car for over 2 months now.I will be taking my car here with any further issues I have, thanks to Bill and his staff. They were helpful in every way, even emailed me an estimate which I confirmed via email before any repairs were made.They made this simple, smooth, and painless for me. Thanks guys!

Just called to ask how much would they charge to fix my throttle position sensor.. resulting from the diagnostic test being done at AutoZone for my check engine light being on.. Only asked for a simple quote on the price they would charge to fix it as I was looking forward to taking my vehicle in to them for repair. The guy told me that since someone else diagnosed my problem, he refuses to do any repair on my vehicle as it is not good business for him. I am lost for words and just cant believe a professional repair shop would decline service to someone because they had their check engine light diagnosed at an auto parts store. He couldve AT LEAST said, Well Ill just have to re-diagnose the problem myself to see if that is the issue. I would have been fine with that even. As having it diagnosed a second time wouldve been okay with me as long as the issue was fixed. VERY bad business and WOULD NOT recommend this repair shop to anyone who is looking for a genuine, proud working, customer friendly repair shop.

I find it very hard to belive theyre a 5 star, they are super rude and try to trick you into thinking there are more things wrong with your car even though I had it inspected by 5 other shops, wont let you bring your own part so they can jack the prices higher and I even got screamed at pretty poor customer service if you ask me. Once I discovered Bill Belonge and his Auto Surgeon team, I have not taken my vehicle to anyone else. Bill is forthright and honest - he will not encourage you to do something to your vehicle you dont need. With my older vehicle, he has given me very practical advice, while keeping it in great shape.Once I took my car there for something they do not typically do. Bill sent my car to a colleague of theirs that performs that service, and then retrieved it. I only paid for the service that the other mechanics did - no charge at all from Bill for his work in getting my car the work it needed.Another example - my car is 11 years old, but just hit 103,000 miles. When Auto Surgeon replaced the timing belt & water pump for me, they discovered damaged radiator and air conditioning condenser. The car had likely been in minor front end collision before I bought it 8 years ago. They replaced everything, but the belt made noise. Eventually, they had to replace the belt tensioner, too. NO charge! That would not have been part of the normal repair, and there was no reason to replace it until the new equipment revealed the problem. Bill did not charge for the part or the labor! You CANNOT BEAT that kind of service! They have my loyalty because theyve treated me with complete respect. Thanks, Bill and team!
