I have referred so many people to Mark the magician mechanic over the years. I went to a dealership, they told me I needed a new computer module ($500 and up). Took it to Mark - he changed the key fob and it worked. Cant put a price on honesty. All other work was impeccable - would highly recommend.

Especially if you are a woman or senior citizen on a fixed income. I had a local auto dealership out by Culver’s tell me I needed a new modem for my auto lock fob. About 700.00 Marc checked it out, looked on line and gave me the info to order a fob on line 15.00.How many places would do that for you ? Most would take your money. I called this company about a broken brake line on a Chevy express 1500 cargo van. I asked specifically if they could fix this . They said yes and we will get it done in a timely matter. I spent $100 to get it towed and they called me and Said they are not interested in doing the work. So I would not recommend this company I would ask them specifically if they can do the work before getting your vehicle towed there

Took my car in after white smoke was coming out of the hood. I thought it was the water pump leaking coolant but it turns out it was oil leaking out of the valve cover. I took my car in before my vacation and they were very flexible and allowed me to keep my car there for a week while I was gone. When I came back they showed me how I actually didnt need to replace the water pump and told me I was all set. I asked how much I owed them and they said since they didnt need to replace the water pump their time was complementary. They just asked that if I couldnt fix the oil leak on my own I take my car there. Great service, would recommend!

The appointment time was not helpful. A lot of people were kept waiting a half hr. Out standing in the wind, no place to sit. They dont have a text system to call you in. I couldnt hear her yell my name if I were in my car because the wind was loud. Very disappointing...sone people took time off work and couldnt stay.

Mediocre ExperienceI brought my 2016 truck in for a leaking third taillight and both of my fog lights were not functioning. I was quoted $50 for resealing the taillight and for diagnosing the fog lamps.PROS: They fit me in immediately, were very polite, and the third taillight has not leaked since the repair, all of which I am very happy with.CONS: Unfortunately, I was told both LED fog lights were, burned out. I knew I had to replace the entire assembly on both sides due to the LED nature of the lights. After a quick Google, I found the price would be close to $500 for the lights alone! I called GM and was referred to the dealer to finalize the diagnosis and repair. The dealer called me later the following day and said a simple plug was not clipped properly resulting in the malfunction. When I called Barnum and Tenny to ask why they misdiagnosed the problem, I was told that because they couldnt find any problem, they just assumed the bulbs were bad. They offered their sincerest apologies but wouldnt dream of a refund or credit. There was no response when I asked, What if I purchased new fog light assemblies for $500 and found it was just a clip that was off? Safe to say I wont be back.

Barnum and Tenny is my go-to for any work that my car needs. The staff is friendly, and as a woman who doesnt know a lot about cars, I know that I can trust them to give me honest answers without any fear of being taken advantage of! The office staff are always friendly and I always feel comfortable leaving my vehicle with them. On my last visit, even though they were busy, my car was fixed within 24 hours and for a very reasonable price.

Visiting from out of town, a local friend told me about the shop, stopped by to have a repair on my car. They fixed my car and did a GREAT job! Everyone was friendly and really helpful. Sold work, excellent repair, excellent value! Highly recommended.

I occasionally drive UBER, and on New Years Eve 2019, at about 4pm, I discovered I had a headlight out. Another place was NOT ABLE to repair it. At 4:56pm I called Barnum and Tenny on Haco Drive in Lansing and told him I wanted to provide UBER service tonight, and it was important that I repair my headlight, where-upon and he said come on in and Ill change out your headlight, I got there about 5:08 he finished with another customer, and he had me pull into a stall. I was astonished that the OWNER had to loosen the fender, the fender wall, and remove part of the bumper just to get at the headlight.I could hardly believe that the owner spent more than an hour, finishing about 7pm, working on my vehicle. REMEMBER this is on NEW YEARS EVE. Though he knew that I may be saving a life later that night, and that was likely true. So he wanted me to be able to serve our community so the people could go out and get home safe. He went above and beyond to do his job, so I could do mine on a critical night.Because of this owners commitment to the safety of the people of the greater Lansing area, by assuring that even one more UBER car could be on the road on NEW YEARS EVE, he donated his labor and only charged the price of the headlamp.This speaks volumes about the character of this owner, and because of his commitment to our community, I have to now say that, without reservation of any sort, I unconditionally recommend him for any and all body work that you may for your own vehicle.I cant say this enough... This owner went out of his way in New Years Eve night away from his family, and donated his entire work time to make Lansing just one more UBER safer on a critical night.I hope all of my riders wrote a review for you, and that the entire Lansing community, at the very least, considers using this Barnum and Tenny location the next time they need any Insurance or Non-Insurance body work done on their vehicle.Thank You,Leroy

I always take my car to Barnum and Tenny and they ALWAYS make it as painless of an experience as possible. As a woman who doesnt know much about cars, I worry about being taken advantage of by repair shops - these guys wont do that. My whole family takes their cars here and they are honest and do good work.

If I could give you no stars I would. This place has been an absolute joke since day one. I brought my Pontiac G8 in for front end work after having been involved in an accident. I was reluctant to go here for multiple reasons. One being that i had already gotten an estimate at a local competitor and was impressed with their work as well as their staff. Two, when I pulled up to Barnum and Tenny I wasnt sure if I had arrived at the right place, it appeared as if the place hadnt been operational in years. Three, when I arrived a man came out, attempted to do the estimate. I had brought the other estimate with me and he just pretty much copied what they had written. So against my better judgement I went with them. I was referred to them by a friend of my mothers. I would have went with my gut had it not been for them eating my deductible. This job took about a week longer than quoted. Mind you, all my parts had been ordered and had arrived by the time I brought my car in. So after their finish date kept extending more and more, I asked them for a rental car. they said they were out of them. 2 days later I asked again and they proceeded to give me some 2004 impala that stained my clothes after sitting in it. I had no choice, a reliable means of transportation is a must have more my job. That very next day, I stopped to use the restroom, when I came back out the car wouldnt start. nothing. I called Barnum and Tenny and they didnt seem to know what to do. I ended up having to pay for the towing back to their shop. I have still yet to receive full reimbursement for this tow, resulting in my AAA account becoming delinquent and now being cancelled. I have contacted them several times on multiple different occasions only to be told someone would call me back or theyll see what their boss says and then theyll call back. I havent received a single call back from them and I am completely outraged! this place is a joke and they dont deserve your business. Please save yourselves the hassle and go anywhere else.

Very nice place to handle with your car’s problems. Guys here are soooo nice, and they won’t charge you additional fees if you change some parts of your car there. Been there twice before. First time is to fix the hood. Another place asked for 1300 dollars to replace the whole hood. But it only takes me 65 dollars here to fix it, including labor. Strongly suggest you come here.

Great service and really friendly. The heat shield above the muffler got loose on my car and they fixed it for free. I can definitely recommend them.

The local car shop you always wished you could find.Im always hesitant to go to a car repair place by myself since Im afraid of being taken advantage of and being price gouged because I have limited knowledge about cars. I was going to just go to a dealership but was referred by a friend to Barnum and Tenny and decided to follow their recommendation.Even though they were super busy with all of the first snow of the season related accidents, they really bent over backwards to get my car in and looked at. Staff was very friendly, a pleasure to talk to, and I felt like they truly cared. They even gave me a ride back to my apartment while they worked on my car. It was a refreshing experience, and I felt right at home. Fantastic local business to support, I dont see myself going anywhere else in the future for car repairs.

PLEASE DO NOT HAVE THIS PLACE REPAIR YOUR CAR! You will regret it. I had an estimate done. The female owner inspected my car. The bill was under $200 so I brought it in for body repairs. After the work was done, the woman tells me they found more damage. What was suspicious is where the damage was located. It was damage that was very obvious and should have been detected in the initial inspection. It was not detected because it wasnt there before the repairs. It looked like damage caused by someone either accidentally or intentionally. Either way, the bill increases from $200 to $1000. The female wanted me to file an insurance claim and thought I would have them repair it. Sorry, someone else will get my business. They dont have a lot of business for a reason. I encourage others who have been victims of this place to post.
