This is the most welcoming eye care office we’ve visited. While patients waited, the office was not crowded, was light and airy, the music classic rock, minimal wait. The staff, from check-in to technicians to optometry, was friendly, competent, and knowledgeable. Dr. Hamil was professional without being officious or condescending, his explanations were clear and informative; he took the time necessary to make sure we understood everything. Lafayette Eye Associates is one of the best optometrist facilities I’ve been to. The facility is large, very clean and they have a great selection of high and mid range frames to choose from. All of the staff was very friendly and professional. There was new high-end eye exam equipment in multiple rooms. Doctor David Himel was awesome, very smart, kind and took his time with my eye exam and explaining my eye condition and what type of lenses I would need. I would highly recommend this facility and doctor for your next optometrist exam!

Ive been a patient for many years and have never, ever had a problem or delay and theyre very personable. Yesterday a yellow jacket hornet stung me on the eye (!), I called for advice and they figured a way to squeeze me into their schedule with 15 minutes notice to take a look. Awesome client services!

The Staff through the whole continuum of care was amazing. I’m new to contacts, and they patiently instructed me on everything I needed. I never felt rushed and I gained so much confidence in the process. The whole experience was the best I’ve ever had. They’ve set my new standard for eye care.

Everyone at Lafayette Eye Associates is so friendly and helpful! I recently had an insurance change and they were proactive in letting me know how that would affect my visit. I appreciated the thoroughness of the whole eye exam process and the new diagnostic machines made me feel more than ever that my eye care is in very capable hands!

While the overall experience was excellent (modern equipment, knowledgeable friendly staff), there was some uncertainty about what the bill would actually be. While the potential amount is manageable, it would have been nice to know more up front. That said, I was not diligent about asking, so that is partially on me. Certainly still recommended!

Ive been going here for the last couple years and Ive had a truly excellent experience each time, which is difficult do to my anxiety in relation to medical professionals. They are professional and polite, making me feel at ease through my entire visit. They have an excellent selection of glasses to choose from. Everyone in this office is so kind and helpful. The tech explained everything about the measurements and machines she was using. Dr. Himmel was comforting, knowledgeable, and thorough in explaining what was going on when I had concerns. The front office staff were personable and not pushy in trying to get me to buy anything. I love that it’s easy to get an appointment here, and the docs and staff are all very nice. They do a thorough exam with all the most current tests and they are very helpful when you have an eye issue.

I was happy with this practice so far. The doctor was kind but brief. Ask questions if you want to know anything about your eyes. Out of pocket costs were more than I expected but I think that’s more to do with my insurance than them. They forgot to print out my Rx for glasses and I had to go back to get it. Otherwise it was a good experience.

I have been a patient here for four years maybe more. I started coming here because a fried recommended them to me as she has been seeing them since she was in school. So that was a good recommendation for me. They have great staff that will answer any questions you have. The technology they use is too notch. The doctor has explained the health of my eyes and even shows me the optic nerves and explains anything! Also they are pushy about selling you a pair of glasses you can’t afford like other clinics. I am a Medicaid patient and I am on a fixed income and they understand my needs and have been there to help me with my eyes. I appreciate them and definitely recommend them to anyone.

Her staff has always been friendly and professional, and Dr Nunn recognizes me and knows about my family. The offices are spacious and the equipment is high tech. The only complaint I have is with the older woman with short blonde hair. I believe she is new, but she is SO rude. Obviously doesnt know anything about customer service because she has been so incredibly rude to me both times that I have been here. Otherwise, everyone was great and I love my new glasses!

I absolutely loved this office. I came in early for my appointment and they saw me within five minutes(still before my appointment time). The office and all equipment was extremely clean and the staff member I was with was cleaning every machine before I came into contact with it. Every person I encountered was knowledgeable about my insurance and they were very strait forward about what it would and would not cover. My appointment took just over an hour because there were people looking at glasses at the same time. However the man that was helping everyone was able to bounce between us and keep the information strait. I will be going back!

The front office staff was AWESOME. I went in for my appointment and had my 4 year old. They let him play in the little play area, let him take some toys back into the office during my eye exam, and one of the workers even took my son back to the play area to switch toys during while I was getting my eyes checked. They had tons of glasses I loved but couldnt afford. The glasses guy (John?) brought me a discount tray of glasses to choose from and I was able to get some super cute glasses + lenses for $99. Im so happy I found this place! Wonderful experience!

I had a really great experience this morning going to this office everyone was really kind very fast didnt make me feel uncomfortable because I use Medicaid just in and out I would highly recommend going here especially if you have Medicaid plus they had really good chocolates for Halloween

I have been going to Dr. Himmel for many years now. Recently I’ve struggled to find a pair of contacts that is comfortable. I’ve been testing various types for months, so I have basically been to the office once a week for 3 months. They work with my schedule and every time I am there the whole staff are so friendly!

These guys completely saved the day when my airline lost my luggage and I was going to miss out on my snowboarding vacation due to my contacts--and everything else-- being lost somewhere between the East Coast and Colorado, You can rent gear to ski with, but the rental shop cant help you with contacts! These folks let my local optometrist fax my info over and got me all set up with a pair of contacts. They absolutely went above and beyond with this kindness, and it wasnt required of them in any way but made all the difference to me. Thank you so much!

Very unprofessional experience. I waited over an hour before the doctor saw me for my appointment. The exam was rushed, probably because she needed to catch up after chit chatting with the patient before me, the frame selection is sub par to say the least and the doc was very disrespectful to the staff as well. If you want a quality eye exam for a reasonable price I suggest you go elsewhere.

Dr Sherrie Nunn is one of the best eye docs around just great in refractions, but excellent in diagnosing eye halth problems and in this respect, she compares favorably to the retinal specialist my PC later sent me to. I have had a few pairs of glasses from the optical shop. The fits were good. Both Zach and John are very good opticians and know what they are doing.

I got a contact prescription. They did not sell me contacts so I ordered from a website. When I got the lenses they did not fit, and they were non-refundable. The website customer support said the prescription was incomplete, it did not include the diameter.Lafayette Eye Associates repeatedly refused to give me the diameter. I asked for a followup exam to see what was wrong, but they refused that too saying I broke the law by buying online.Now I paid a lot of money (they have very high prices) and I have nothing.

Had a great experience at my first ever optometry appointment. Dr. Nunn and the staff were friendly and knowledgeable. HIghly recommend this practice.
