Brandon and David were most helpful, courteous, and knowledgeable. The technician was very friendly and remarkably educated about his craft. Very nice young man.

Staff was okay, not overly friendly but definitely not rude. Communication leaves something to be desired - everything was done through text or email. We had to call to find out when the vehicle would be done, as we were not given an estimated time of completion. Prices seem to be average. Would probably recommend, as we were able to make an appointment that was for the next day.

Immediately entering the La Mesa, CA location, I was greeted with smiles, and an open invitation to become a valued customer. The manager David was juggling on the phone customers and also assisting me with my needed demands due to me being on lunch break. The team was able to quickly insert me into the schedule to replace, repair my 02 Oxygen Sensor, show me the corroded, ineffective part, explain to me what happened, replaced the part and send me on my way back to work so I could make my afternoon meeting. Been to other Midas franchises with mixed results. Walked in around 1:30pm for squealing brakes, waited around 45-1 hour and got a text with all the info on my car, recommendations, cost. Very thorough assessment, repaired by 4:30pm and brakes are safe and working fine now. Manuel was informative and kept me up to date on the rapid of my vehicle. Price was comparable to other estimate I got but I felt safer with a company that has been around for awhile. My car got the Midas touch here at this franchise and I have a place to take my vehicle for any repairs I need in the future.

These people ruined my opinion on MIDAS. I will never use their services again. Not only did they lie saying I didn’t need new brakes. I was still charged $150 and my car is still having the same problems. I don’t trust them to do the right thing. It seems like they only want to make money and not help. NEVER AGAIN!!!!updating this because I can’t respond to the managers response—I don’t care how you all THINK that I didn’t need new brakes, that was what my appointment was for. I paid $150 to still have the same problem. I know what scrubbing brakes sound like and my brakes are beginning to scrub. So instead of waiting until they got SUPER BAD, I made an appointment to get them changed. Like I said, i’ll never come back to MIDAS because they’ll do something completely opposite of what you want. I feel like I wasted money and why would I go back if I don’t trust them to fix my issues?

I called and made an appointment for an oil change for the same day. Courteous and friendly on the phone. Friendly and helpful when I arrived and I was taken on time. David let me know that I needed new air and cabin filters and I opted for new windshield wipers. They installed those quickly and I was out in about 45 minutes. Thanks for the great service!

This place has the vibe of your local neighborhood mechanic. No advertising in the office, lackluster customer service and no prices listed anywhere, this is the most annoying part for me. Having to ask how much each of their services are going to cost gets old, fast. Prices are on the higher side. Basic oil change $45 (non synthetic), alignment $90, mount and balance $20.I came here because it’s down the street from my house and I didn’t feel like doing my oil change myself. I was pleasantly surprised to see an unexpected diagnostic sent via text highlighting some of the car’s issues that could be worth looking into. Overall, the staff was pleasant and I would come back in the future.Tip to ownership: promote your prices in/at the waiting room/ service desk

I was worried about the brakes on my car. After Midas did a thorough inspection they advised that the brakes were perfectly fine. I couldn’t believe they did not try and sell me on something that I did not need. They did rotate my tires and I was done, very pleased with their honesty and walked out of there paying $20. I have full trust in them and will always return for my car needs.

I LOVE these guys. Ended up here because a family mechanic absolutely ruined my brakes a few years ago. Gary explained what was done wrong and they all took great care of me. Been coming here ever since. Very reasonable costs, and everyone is friendly. I recommend them to everyone I know, and got Hubby to switch to them for work on his 91 Camaro too. I use Midas - La Mesa for any work I need now. Wont be going anywhere else any time soon.

I needed brake pads and rotors replaced. I was provided with a detailed, electronic assessment of my vehicle with real time quotes and options for what worked best for me. The staff was helpful, and really did their best to make it a great experience. Ill be going back for sure.

Given a timeline of 1 and 1/2 weeks to replace the valve cover gaskets and oil pan gasket in my 2000 Mitsubishi. Called at that time and was told 1 to 2 days max theyd be done. Called the 2nd day and was told by the end of business the next day. Called the next day and was told one more night. Called the next day and was told the car still wasnt done and that maybe the end of business the next day. Didnt call that day but called the morning after just to get a message saying that they would be closed for the next 5 days because of licensing and construction. No communication at all from them.

Midas La Mesa changed my oil on March 9, 2021. On March 11, 2021 my vehicles engine light came on. In addition, my vehicle was running odd after the service. I called the shop and advised them of the situation as soon as the light came on. They asked me to bring my vehicle in. Manuel L., the service adviser hooked up a scan tool and showed me that there was oxygen sensor codes and MAF sensor code. I advised him that I have never had any issues with my vehicle until after they performed the oil change. I also told him that I purchased my vehicle brand new in 2018 and have kept it well maintained. He told me there is nothing they could have done to cause this. That this was simply a coincidence. I expressed that they need to see whats wrong as my vehicle was running well before I brought it in. Reiterating, that I have never had any sort of check engine light or issues with my vehicle. Manuel L. then told me that this is a coincidence AND if I want them to conduct a diagnosis, it will cost me their hourly rate.This is unacceptable. Midas La Mesa needs to take some responsibility for this. I had a perfectly running vehicle, no leaks, no vibration, etc. I am not a happy customer. Now I am having to take my vehicle to Bob Stall Chevrolet (nearest Chevrolet Dealer to me) to see what is wrong with my car. Which has a cost of $170. Midas La Mesa is more than capable of doing the diagnostic themselves. That is why I took it back to them. They were the last to work on my vehicle before issues followed. Manuel L. was not apologetic or even entertaining the fact that they had anything to do with this. But yet, they do a Midas Courtesy Check of your vehicle and you can clearly see that the air filter was removed as it is imaged on the report. They were under the hood checking fluids, etc. They could have at least checked the areas they had put their hands on. Put it on the lift for any obvious signs of cause. This could be as simple as the air filter not being reset properly. Such a shame! NEVER USING THEM AGAIN!

I came to the service to change the tires for new ones and replace the oil. As a result, they broke the hub pin and asked for $260 for it. They said they would remove the hub. In the end, I paid and what I got as a result, very poorly balanced wheels, strong vibration, badly scratched wheel disc and a lot of money spent. Plus, I spent two days on it. I remade the wheels in Discount Tire - they did it perfectly! Ill never come here again. GIVE ME MY MONEY BACK! Scammers! White Santa Fe, I think you remember!

They damaged the interior panel of my 2011 Nissan 370 Nismo that has only 25k miles. The interior was perfect before they damaged it. They denied causing the damage so I am left having to pay for the cost of replacing a door panel that costs over $795.00. They lost a customer that owns 4 vehicles that are ALL in MINT condition.

Other places only checked but didnt find a problem, although I could hear the breaks and feel them not working as good. I also have gotten my oil change and new tires. Everything was explained to me and choices provided. I highly recommend this location.

David and Manuel were very helpful in replacing the catalytic converter on my car. Unfortunately I had mine stolen and they worked with me and the insurance company to get it replaced. David went over the options available to me and provided a quote. I also had the CAT security added to prevent future theft. I spoke to Manuel about having it installed and they were able to get me in right away.

Plus their customer service is excellent, David will make you feel welcome in their shop will give you a full detail of what your car needs service but is not the type that will make you buy or pay for the services if you dont want too or the service can wait and not a major safety issue.

Always go here fory oil changes. Never wait longer than an hour. I make an appointment so that might help. Recently made an appointment for tires except they dont keep the tires in stock u have to make a deposit before they even order them. Make sure you do just go in make an appointment. But other than that they are great have never had any issues thats why I keep going back!

Not good service nor was the manager polite.they tried to charge me 30 dollars to inspect work that they did. I spent 2000 dollars on strurs with a lifetime warranty Now Im stuck with bad struts and no money.

They were very flexible with my schedule and very transparent about what was wrong with my car. Any issues that could be easily shown to me, they let me see with my own eyes. They also gave me accurate time estimates for how long the work was going to take, and they were quite friendly as well. I would definitely go back!

This is not the establishment I use when having service on my vehicle. I only went because of word of mouth, and decided to give Midas a try since my regular place I go to was booked for several months out. Why did the technician not appraise me first, before performing work on my vehicle would not be able to reset my system On my monitor? I continue to get notification (service is due). I am disgusted with this place and so call Manager Danny or David whatever your name is, which was not much/no help at all - mediocre service. I will not patronize this business again in the future.

Did not have the opportunity to get an oil change when I needed, as it was late in the day. BUT, prices, even without a special are phenomenal as it included tire rotation. Way cheaper than where I went with a $25 off coupon and NO tire rotation. I will definitely be here for the next one in a few thousand miles.

The service here is wonderful! I took my car to the dealership to get fixed and it was going to cost me almost $3000! I am an unemployed college student, this was not going to work for me. When I brought it here, it was thoroughly looked at and the estimate was much less costly and much more manageable. Everything that was going to be changed/fixed in the car was explained to me thoroughly and what didn’t make sense to me was made clear. When I picked it up once it was finished, I noticed a huge difference while I was driving, it felt brand new! I was so happy!The staff here is kind and very honest. I was actually helped by the owner, David, and he walked me though everything that was going to happen with my car, and what the outcome was supposed to be. He definitely followed through with what he said. In fact, he noticed that the original estimate was wrong because one of the parts they thought needed to be fixed was being caused by something else and that the part did not need to be fixed and he knocked that off my bill! I am definitely going to bring my car back here when I need to. Thank you so much for everything! :)

Midas La Mesa has done a bunch of work for me over the past few years ranging from oil changes and minor exhaust repairs to shock absorbers and suspension repairs.Always timely, always on budget, and they dont try to sell you anything you dont need.

Love the University Ave. location! I took my car to the Friars Rd location for an oil change and to have a diagnostic done since the “service engine soon” light was on. Friars Midas didn’t hook up my car to the machine to check the codes and said it would take “some time” to do that and would cost me $$$ since the mechanic “can’t work for free”. They said it might be the emissions from the car that need to be “fixed”. I happily took my keys back from them and drove straight over to the The University location where they hooked up my car and told me the “service engine soon” light was on due to the gas cap not being tightened all the way. Even though we now live closer to the Friars Rd location I won’t be returning there. I will take the little drive to the University Ave location where I know they will be honest, fast, and friendly. Scott and the rest of the guys are the best!

The team is courteous and professional every time. My car is my work, and Manny, David, and the rest of the team got me in and out quicker than any other so-called quick lube or jiffy lube etc. You can feel comfortable giving them your business.

Would’ve given 5 stars but once they were finished with my car I noticed the knob cover for my lock on my car was missing and it wasn’t missing when I brought them my car. They assured me if they found it they would give me a call. It would’ve been nice if they said they would just replace it since they broke it but hey!

My Hyundai Ionic was due for its first oil change and since there is no nearby Hyundai dealership near me, I decided to go back to Midas where I had had my previous car serviced. I made an appointment, went in, they serviced my car, and it was ready in less than an hour. The staff was professional, cautious of safety during this Pandemic, as well as friendly. I also saved at least $20 over the cost at the dealership. I will continue to bring my car here for my future service needs!

In the end, my car ran great, the mechanic even washed my windows before he gave me back the keys! ...However; I was a lil disappointed because their website said $19.95 for oil change &Tire rotation, but when I got there and told them that, they didnt honor it, and told me their special is $24.95. I paid it and extra for tire rotation, but what if I was someone who wasnt prepare to pay more?

I live in north county San Diego, and when my car broke down in la Mesa I was frantic to bring it to a shop for repairs. I was helped by david over the during the whole process. It was after closing but he allowed me to leave my car overnight and they took a look at it the next morning. I authorized all of the repairs over the phone and he kept me thoroughly updated on everything they checked, recommended to be fixed, and when it was all done. This was about a 3 day process from dropping my car off to picking it up and david was so helpful the entire time. I didnt want to bring my car to a no name mechanic thats why I went with Midas and Im so glad I did. He even went as far to follow up with me a few days after and make sure Im not having any problems. They really care about the quality of your service and it shows. 10/10 recommend

I took my car in for its 50,000 mile inspection and tune up. Everyone that helped me was kind and welcoming from the moment I rolled into the parking lot. I was greeted with a handshake and a smile as one of the mechanics asked me what service I needed. The waiting area was clean and comfortable. A large window allows you to view the work and progress of your car. I felt very comfortable leaving my car in the hands of someone who I felt was knowledgeable and professional.

People are nice but way overpriced on parts. Labor is about right. They were charging me 240 dollars for 8 spark plugs and wires. Found high end ones at Auto zone for 80 dollars. I was estimated 1,040 dollars for spark plugs replacement, oil pan gasket, and parking break. Saved myself about 800 to do it all myself. If you can do the work save yourself some money and do it yourself and always do some research. They compared it to buying a steak at a store to a restaurant. I have never paid 50 bucks for a steak.
