Today, June 7, between 5 and 530:Associate ignored my family; choosing to help affluent looking customers instead. Literally looked at my family, then turned and walked away to help customers who came *after* them. He did this TWICE. Still found what we needed, but would have been quick and nice to receive assistance instead of being passed over.Also, it is way too warm inside. Please crank the ac.

Ive been in this store so many times for different reasons. Ive been coming here since I was a young girl. They have items you wouldnt think they would carry. They have a plumbing section, lumber, paint, doors, screen, nuts and bolts and cleaning supplies. Shower curtains and liners, mops, brooms, scrubbers and plants. Youll be surprised at what youll find.

Customer First is their mantra and they practice it. Always willing to help. Makes shopping there a great experience.

If you cant find it anywhere, try check Hardware Hawaii. They also have an awesome screen service. Highly recommend.

Hardware Hawaii in Kailua I just want to say your employer Ben was awesome he helped my boyfriend and I without hesitation and when we couldnt find what we needed until we kept looking he not once gave up and apologized when the item we needed wasnt in stock but we were able to find something else please thank Ben for us and because of him i will be back alot more and will tell all my friends amd family to get their hardware from your store. Hardware Hawaii is great! They have a big selection of a variety of tools, wood, paints, plants and all kinds of other stuff. The prices are good as well and the workers very friendly and helpful in any questions you may have. If your in the windward side of the island this is a great place to have your hardware needs met!

Very convenient store for one stop shopping. You may not find some things depending on how picky you are. But most of the items for general usage are covered here.

They have items there that no one else carries. For instance, they have sheets of caenic and lots of redwood items including that redwood donut thats for light fixtures for example for porch lights. The staff there are friendly and helpful. Love going there knowing if no one else has it, they do.

Want to recognize Glenn for his help today. I came in with a wheelbarrow tire that needed to be replaced. Glenn lead me to the tires and we talked about the options. I had no idea what I needed so he stared picking up tires and tired a few. He even removed the spindle and tired the tires.but my old one was too short for the new tire so he lead me to another section where there were different types of rods. He found one and explained that it wasn’t the exact item but would work. He explained what I needed to do and it made sense so I bought it, got home and was able to make it work. I’m so happy I have a working wheelbarrow! Thank you Glenn!

Didnt have everything I wanted but they are convenient without going to town.

Went there to get things to fix my sink. Gave the guy all the measurements, even brought in the old stuff to show him. Consistently talked over me and insisted i needed this and that. Sold me everything i needed and I get home to discover thats incorrect. I needed a compression washer from 1 1/2 - 1 3/8 . so I go back seeking this. Told by a different guy they dont make those, that no sink has 1 3/8 pipe. To give context Im a journeyman machinist, my dad is a plumber. I know how to measure a pipe. But he insists Im wrong, tells me good luck and walks away. So I bought a 1 1/2 pipe sink drain and it works. So my pipe really was 1 3/8 even tho I was wrong. Only gets 2 stars because cashiers were friendly and helpful and I was able to purchase things to get the fix done. Some of the staff should really consider fixing the negative attitude or find other jobs.

Because they offer a wide variety of merchandise. They sell every thing necessary to maintain the beauty and comfort of a home. From minor repairs to big project renovations. They provide products and ideas(information) to create a cozy and innovative dwelling space. This is awesome becausetheres no place like home...

While not the best selection, they generally have what I need. Customer service is always excellent.

If you live in Kailua or Kaneohe you can’t really beat the convenience of Hardware Hawaii. They have pretty much most of the things you’d need for house maintenance and improvements, and they have a really solid lumber section.The customer service is spotty. Most people are aloof—in that hardware store kind of way—but some are very helpful in showing you where your item is located and even giving you some pointers if you’re asking. But there are others I avoid like the plague, which is probably the way they want it.For the convenience it cant be beaten, but there are certainly a few people who would be better served if they provided better customer service, but that is true for most businesses with that many people.

For many of us seniors, service and convenience makes all the difference, and Hardware Hawaii in Kailua scores a perfect 10 on both accounts. We needed a new screen/security door, and there was no way it would fit into or on top of our car. Matt G. (the lumber manager) was extremely helpful and even arranged for the door to be delivered. Kudos to Matt and all the good folks at Hardware Hawaii, the first choice for all our hardware and household needs.

Great place to find what you need right away. Not always the best prices, but the employees are friendly and helpful. Parking in front and back makes getting in and out easier since neither side gets too crowded.

I purchased a mouse trap at this location unfortunately the trap did not work I attempted to bring the trap back about a week later but the cashier would not take my return stating that there was nothing wrong with the trap even though I explained to her that the doors did not trip when the mouse went into the trap. They do not stand behind their products and were very unhelpful. Would rate a 0 if I could.

I have been going here since the 80s and have no complaints; service is always excellent and if its not right, they will do as much as they can to fix it. There is always someone here to help you unlike an unnamed big box store, lol.

Has most everything for contractors and home owners

On the average I go there 3-5 times per week to pick up materials for a variety of different odd jobs in and around my house. They are pretty well stocked for a hardware store their size, and depending on customer traffic, have always been able to help me with finding things, making suggestions, etc. There is the occasional trip to the other side of the island to Home Depot or Lowes to find that specific item I need, but if it is not in stock by Ace Hardware then their staff does not hesitate to refer me to a competitor to find the item I need. That does not happen at other hardware stores too often. I would rate their customer service Top Notch, and highly recommend Ace Hardware in Kailua to anyone.

Service is really hit and miss here. Either they are overly friendly and swarm on you (not a problem) or they are totally rude and dismissive (problem). The staff today couldnt look away from their water-cooler gossip in the aisle to help us, and the paint guys were super rude when I asked for help. It is VERY overpriced (only reason Im going is that the Pali is closed) and limited selection. Dont even look for plants here, as there are none BTW.

Went there today and the lady who worked there was really rude when I asked where something was. She looked obviously annoyed when I approached. I asked her if she could help me find something. She told me she didnt know if she could b/c she worked in housewares and the b/c I didnt know the name of what exactly I was looking for I described my project. She then rolled her eyes and said she hated when people told her a story of their project and to just ask her what I was lookng for. Really rude!

Always a pleasant experience at H H in Kailua. Staff know where things are, take you right to it and make sure you got the right one for the job! Parking is free and easy too, they help you load your car too. Very convenient.

This is your basic hardware store, but unlike the big chains, you will be able to find someone who knows what theyre talking about. the service is friendly and they almost always have what you need for your house or apartment.

Kailua...Lumber loaders are very slow. The system is disorganized. There seems to be no oversight.

Found all the things I needed for a quick repair. Staff is very knowledgeable, helpful and courteous.

I recently moved back to Kailua and normally shop at Lowes and Home Depot on the westside of Oahu. Most times I cant find a salesperson to help me find what i need and was pleasantly surprised at the staff at Hardware Hawaii in Kailua. Very helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. This is DEFINITELY now my favorite hardware store. Its like a candy store to a kid for me they have everything I need and more. Its more expensive than Home Depot or Lowes, but you dont need to drive across the mountain. The workers are really nice.Theres a screen guy that works there from 9-5p (I think) M-F who will fix broken screens if you bring them in. Super useful.They have a wide selection. I havent had trouble finding any tools that the bigger retailers carry. They dont have all the appliances you get at big box.
