I was very happy with the service very professional and job was done within the time frame as promised. I purchased a brand new coffee table and my dog chewed one side of the mango wood table - I was so upset! Jax Furniture Refinishing assured me they could fix it and their work was amazing!!! Returned the table and I could not tell which side had been chewed! Would absolutely recommend them!!

I purchased bar stools not quite the right height for the bar. Although the wait time was several weeks, the work and professionalism was worth the wait. The stools are now perfect where they sit!

First off, working with Suzanne is fantastic. She is quick to respond and extremely helpful. 5 stars for her and her efforts.That being said, I tried so hard to give Jax Furniture my business. I sent over pictures of a couple pieces and was quoted $930 / piece. We began to save money for the project after realizing we are now going to move forward and then had an estimator come out to take a look at one of the pieces. His quote was over $1,100, an 18% increase. Understanding this is a luxury item (refurbishing old furniture) we decided we have to save a little bit more than anticipated. No big deal.It took us 6-months to save the unexpected estimated amount and when we decided to move forward with the purchase, we received a response that the price had increased AGAIN, now to $1,486. This is 59% higher than the original estimate of $930.At these historical price increases if we wait 6 months it will be $2,362. If we wait a year it will be $3,756. We have now realized we are in a infamous loop of kicking the can down the road as we will never have enough saved.This is disappointing because the reviews here were fantastic and the people were great to work with. But we will never be able to save enough to meet the continuous price increases.

When I called Scan Design about getting the chairs repaired, I was told they cant be repaired because of the delicate Cane and we would just have to purchase more chairs. I knew it was a repair shop some where in town that could repair the chairs, doing a Google search I came across Jax Furniture, I emailed some pictures to Suzanne, and asked if they would be able to repair the chairs she emailed me back and stated yes. We dropped the chairs off for repairs, and what a marvelous job they did, AGAIN.......the picture work, speaks for itself, before and after picture, Suzanne is so kind and friendly, with a nice pleasant voice, PEOPLE.... this is what good customer service skills are supposed to be / sounds like. Everyone at Jax Furniture were amazing. From the moment I walked thru the door I knew that they were going to take of me. Suzanne was so nice and assuring that my family airloom would be restored and handled with care. She checked in with me and sent me pictures thruout the whole process to accommodate our schedules. I highly recommend them for any restoration project you may have. I love them so much I am bringing my family area rug in to them for cleaning.

We asked them to stain an old John Boos maple butcher block table a darker color. Table came back the perfect color and looking like new. Prepare to wait but you will find that it is worth the wait.

Gave a twenty year old couch and a 25 year old chair new life with recovering. Beautiful attention to detail and great craftsmanship. Will recommend and definitely use again!

We were very pleased with our experience! We had a very old coffee table refinished. It was a table that we both loved. It had some intricate inlaid work, and was probably not the easiest piece to work with. It came out beautiful! You could now see all the natural graining of the ebony wood and the inlaid work just came back to life.We also had all of our dining room chairs reupholstered. The quality of their work was impressive. The chair seats had a perfect piping detail to them and the cushioning had also been replaced. They are so comfortable now. The hardest part was choosing a fabric. There were so many to choose from!Thank you to Bill and Suzanne, who were wonderful to deal with.

I contracted with Jax Furniture Refinishing to refinish a very large dining table with 4 leaves and 8 chairs, along with reupholstering the chairs. I also had them repaint a curio cabinet. The table and chairs came out even more beautiful than I anticipated. I was allowed to come see various stains on the table legs themselves to see how the stains matched and blended with the natural wood grain. For the curio cabinet, the paint job looks like it came off of the showroom floor like this; it does not look like a repaint job at all. I highly, highly recommend this business.

Our contact with Jax Furniture began with a gentleman who’s name escapes me. He arrived at our home promptly, gave us an estimate and even suggested we shop and compare what a new set would cost! We de used to keep the old friend and proceeded to meet Suzanne, who could not have been more helpful, friendly and professional. We left our tired and worn looking 30 yr. old dining room set in their capable hands and they returned it to us looking unbelievably beautiful. This is the second time I have used Jax Furniture Refinishing. The first time was after our home flooded 2 feet into our second floor during Hurricane Irma. Our house was loaded with inherited antiques and Jax Furniture Refinishing was able to salvage every single piece to pristine condition. They worked with me on pick up and delivery as I wasn’t even sure when my home would be ready to receive them back again.This time was a little job by comparison. I had just inherited 3 antique kitchen chairs that the caning had all but disintegrated. Ive used them twice for my grandmother-in-laws antique chairs: The broken arm on one was repaired seamlessly-- we couldnt even see the break! The other one, whose seat fell through when I tried to sit on it, is now very comfortable. All this was done for a very reasonable price. It wouldve been done in a timely manner if Bill hadnt gone on vacation when he did. But Hey, I cant expect him to arrange his vacation schedule around when my chair breaks! 😊

We had our couch done almost 3 months ago and we couldnt be happier! They took what I called the brown turd and turned it into a beautiful marshmallow! With the center piece of the couch extended and the dated rolled arms changed to straight our couch is now so much more functional and prettier.Correspondence with Jax Furniture is a breeze, I email and they always email right back. This was a great experience and I have already enlisted them in another project.

We commissioned a dining room room table from them in late December. When they picked up the table they dropped it with not even an apology. I was given a quote and a 3 week lead time due to the holiday season only. I called sometime late Jan or early Feb as I did not hear anything. The receptionist stated they had not started due to a bigger project. I was upset at this point and asked to speak to the to the guy I was dealing with, who I thought was the owner. He denied being the owner though he is pictured in the ad. I originally was going to cancel the project but after speaking to the him, he stated that was not the case and it was the weather that caused the delay as it delays being able to apply the lacquer properly. So I believed him, though I was not originally told that weather could delay the project and went through. Sounded like it made sense. 2-3 days later my table was miraculously finished and ready for delivery the next day after 11 coats. When they came to the house they forgot the leaf and lost the hardware. Also had the metal poles underneath touched up through a company they used-horrible job. Thankfully they are under the table and no one will look at them. Maybe the finish they used will last though.The gentleman said he never takes hardware and I didnt give them to him. I reminded him I did because there was some rust on them and could they be cleaned and to see if they were ok. He went out to the truck, said he was going to the store to buy new hardware. He left and receptionist called saying hed be back the next day or two. Now it was they were thrown out because they were so badly corroded, on a set about 8 years old, and they couldnt be cleaned. Hmm. The finish was the color I wanted but had a rough feel to it and the table was covered in a very nice layer of dust, eveywhere-that I cleaned.I had another local company come to the house who said the finish was nice, pretty, but perhaps the coats were done too fast and needed a light sanding. When he came back I told him I was not happy with the finish, no apology, looked at me like I was crazy but took it back. No follow up call so I called again in early March and my table was ready within the week. Today the table is delivered, pre-assembled and pretty clean. Finish is better, though I still feel some roughness and with all new hardware. I was given the invoice for original amt. I said there isnt a price adjustment for everything that has gone on? His first response was, Was that the intent this whole time? So you could get out of paying the full amt, No. Or was it to get a table you are happy with. I tried to explain my grievances but this upsetted me. I went to get the money and came back and explained to him that my husband and I both are military with several deployments and 30 years of service between us and we have integrity, not trying to get out of things. He then proceeded to tell me I had asked for a discount several times, in the shop and over the phone. No, I did not. When I was at the shop when was given the quote it was sticker shock and I asked if it could be done for less, they said no and I said ok well do it. Ive been wanting to redo our table for years.1 star for lack of professionalism, lack of integrity, and complete disrespect and for the quality and price that he said they lost their ass- on some things the table could have been better. The experience with the company has taken away from the feelings of the finished product and I cannot say that I am even satisfied with their work because of this. That is a shame as they apparently get great reviews on Angies List. In this review I hope one can see that several times he has said I have said or did something several times that I never did. . Perhaps, if they didnt rush the first time I would never had to write this review, which by the way is the first time I have never written a review about a company.
