Disappointed. From afar, I located a used car on Autotrader, asked Jeff about having it inspected. (I like to use Firestone for this work.)Jeff advised taking it across the street to the Midas shop, which charged me $89 for a mechanical inspection. They apparently didnt notice the broken water pump and rusty coolant. My local Firestone says its obviously not a new issue. What is new: due to overheating, my new used car is getting a cracked cylinder replaced. (I got a good deal on the car I wanted. Thanks to the errors by Midas, its costing me half again what I paid.)Ive added a single ⭐ review to the Midas; if that branch is suggested to you by American Imports, go with someone else.

My experience at American Imports was great. Was worried at first, but these are HONEST people! Like any good dealer should, I was allowed to take the car to a professional for inspection. Everything came up clean. As I’m reading other reviews... all I can say is do your homework before driving off the lot. Their cars are NOT junky/salvage, but they are used (duh). For the money, I scored an awesome deal. I love my new car! Will update this review if anything goes awry.

I was in need of a car really bad having wrecked my car, hitting a deer and having insurance denied. I dont know why I bothered looking anywhere else. American Imports have very nice vehicles in a range of prices. And while most places ask top dollar only allowing you to get a deal if youre good at bargaining. American Imports gives you the best price right off the bat. I hate car salesmen because their always trying to take advantage of people. Id refer to the people at American Imports more as Automobile consultants. Like carsalesmen but with class, dignity and respect. Thank you. For the second year in a row.Special thanks to Shafer. He recommended the car i bought and I love it. Much appreciated.

My husband and I were car shopping the whole day. We happened to stop at American Imports and I fell IN LOVEEE with the purple cadillac cts4. Purple is my favorite color, and I needed a 4 door car as my car was 2 doors and I have a little boy and at the timewas pregnant with another little boy. So we came after going to 10 other lots and looking at cars all day with our 2 year old. Instantly we were greeted and talked. My husband had expressed our interest in the cts4 and we were helped right away. My husband and the salesman had talked while I looked at other cars. They discussed any issues with the car (my husband is a mechanic so he literally checked EVERYTHING) no issues. We drove the car and made sure it was what I wanted, an then we left to check out other lots (even though my heart was set on the cts4) but we wanted to be sure we were making the right choice. We ended up back and in the office doing paperwork. The woman in the office is GREAT!! I adore her, and her daughter who kept my 2 year old busy playing while we did paperwork. I highly recommend this company. I read all reviews and we never once felt disrespected, rushed, pressured, any of that. Weve had one issue with the title an it was not their fault it was our mailmans fault and the woman on the office addressed it RIGHT AWAY and helped me soon as I got there. You also get what you pay for!!! An I love my car and when we need another we will definitely be back!!!!!!!!

Dont make the same mistake i did of thinking the negative reviews were just sour people with one-off experiences. there are plenty of used car dealers in indy with very good ratings. do not buy from here out of desperation. they are VERY shady people and do VERY shady things to sell their vehicles. they do not care about you, all they want is your money and to give you a vehicle not worth a thing. i was able to drive the car i bought 2 days before it broke down on me.seriously, this place is garbage. google used car places in indianapolis and find another one, because this place is NOT it.

Weird, I thought my brakes should be fine for a while. Took it to my mechanic and turns out they didnt replace the brake pads, they SPRAY PAINTED them to make it seem like replaced them. Scammed me out of my money and I cant even get a refund or return it because they made me sign a contract. Never coming here again.

11/14/2020 Looking for a cash car for my mom. Drove 45 minutes to see a few specific vehicles I had found online beforehand. I got there at 10AM on Saturday (website says they open at 9) I asked the salesman about the vehicles that I was interested in. He says look man were just opening for the day . Going against my instinct telling me to leave right then, I continue to look on the lot for these specific vehicles. All looked way worse than the pictures perceived. One of them looked in pretty good shape but parked by the service door. So I asked about it. That one isnt ready yet Ok, do you know when it will be? No call me back this afternoon and Ill let you know. Long story short, go elsewhere to buy a cheaper cash car customer service was terrible, and the cars definitely fall in line with all the other terrible reviews.

The staff was nice and let us look at a Mazda I was interested in. I wish their website told you that their cars have been in accidents because I hadn’t seen the damage to the car online and didn’t end up buying the car after learning about the two accidents it had been in. They also would take my jeep as a trade in for only $200 when it’s worth at least $500-$750. Guess that’s just how it works, but didn’t really enjoy feeling like my time was wasted.

These guys are the real deal. Seriously Ive found my go-to used car dealership. My wife and I spent all morning running all over the east side looking for a decent used car, this was our last stop. Theyre not flashy or pushy, just a good group of quality people. This is a small family owned dealership and they really treat people like a part of the family... Theyre super sincere and ready and willing to help you find the best car for your needs. They worked with us on the price and helped us get going the same day with our new (used) car. Were thrilled with the car and with the service we received, well be back and well also be sure to send all our friends this direction! One awesome difference we learned about these guys while talking to Jordan, something that really sets this dealership apart from the other similar ones is that they dont buy from the auto auctions, they buy trade-ins from larger new car dealerships.. Its a valuable tidbit of information because that means the dealerships look the car over, then these fellas look the cars over so youre getting a better quality used car! Not some surprise piece of crap someone payed bottom dollar for at auction.... I found that very interesting!

Not a fan. Tried the old O2 sensor is why the engine light was on trick. Im not blaming the staff, they are only selling cars they get from auctions as quick as possible while minimizing costs. The issue I had was even though the independent mechanic I had look at the vehicle said there were major transmission issues, the car lot staff told me I didnt know what I was talking about. Also informed me that if I paid for the $2200 repair, they would sell me the car at the great low price. Why would a potential customer ever pay for a repair that should have been completed before trying to sell the vehicle?

I bought a used 2013 Ford Focus from American Imports last week and I was very pleased with the entire experience. I worked with Jeff and who was very friendly and helped me with the price. I was able to get an excellent deal on an extended bumper-to-bumper, warranty. The car itself is incredibly clean and was also priced $1500 under book value, so it was a great deal as well. They also gave me a very generous trade-in deal for my old car. I could tell they wanted me to purchase the car from them (just like any dealership would), but it was in a way that I didnt feel pressured in any way. The building is a little old, but very nice. You can defiantly tell this is a family owned business with the father and two sons, and with this experience Id definitely buy another vehicle from this dealership in the future, as well as recommending it to people I know.

Personally, I have not been to this dealership. But I did call to inquire about an Avalanche that is currently for sale. I asked about the cars’ history and it sounded good. I then decided to pay for a full Carfax report since it would be a 2 hour drive. The Carfax report looked good. But I decided to take it one step further (because the car has been repoed and auctioned) and called the car shop that last worked on the vehicle. They were gracious enough to look up the car in their service records and I got an immediate “Don’t buy it!” I asked further and he gave me a list of problems including that the engine is bad. I then called American Imports back to inquire further. I got a “it drives fine” and “I don’t think they really had to do much work to it, we wouldn’t post it online if it wasn’t good.” Then I asked if they knew if it was a trade-in or an auction bought vehicle and I just got the “I don’t really know, there are over 100 cars in our lot.”So, in short, don’t take their word for it. Pay for a detailed Carfax report and call the last known shop to service that particular vehicle. you may just hear what I did, “don’t buy, it’s bad, unless they did a ton of work to fix it”.. which of course they admitted to no work needed.

Bought a car last week. Cadillac. Feel totally bamboozled. Although nice, no-one was consistent in reports about car. Didnt notice the fan noise under the hood. Said theyd not heard it. Told us things about the car that were not true, for example something as simple as sorry it doesnt have the seat heaters but, it actually does. This father and son(s) team didnt have reviews, wouldnt print us reviews, or said yeah, hold on maybe we can but shifted conversation to other partner as we asked questions.Lost the keys a couple of times. They were in and out of the office several times the father and son. Granted it was getting to be closing time, but they seemed very chaotic. Told us that they sell cars to the same people over and over due to great vehicles and their service. I doubt this.Sick now to report that the car looked so clean and good we purchased it.Got an oil change immediately after purchase and was told it was1 qt low.Drove it on vacation out East for Thanksgiving (this year 2015) and on our way home, car started to sound like a jet plane. Horrible noise from under the hood. Engine rattled and hummed, ultimately it died, or blew up on side of the road. Weve owned it a week and 1/2.Our mechanic now says there are a host of things possibly wrong. Likely codes were wiped on this SUV after American Imports got it from the dealership nearby, (where they get all their great cars) before they put it on their lot.we dont want to sell you this car tonight was what we heard the day we went to see it, cause it was such a great car. Right. It was also on special pre-holiday pricing.Very upset and angry with these folks. DO NOT purchase any cars from American Imports, 8606 Pendleton Pike, Indianapolis. Im surprised these guys have been around in business this long. I saved cash for a whole year to buy a used car, and really took a beating on this one. After some negotiation, I bought a 2005 Mazda MPV for about $4,000 with 122K miles on it. A fair price considering the age and features. It was not a perfect car, but I am happy with my experience. The sales person was helpful. I took about 3 day to make my decision and then went for a test drive. The MPV was clean and had very little rust on the body, but the undercarriage did have rust and the muffler exhaust looked like it was about to go. The engine sounded like it was having issues, but the check engine light was not on. After i purchased it, I started getting P0302 cylinder-2 misfire check engine codes every day. Fuel mileage was 12 MPG, 1/2 what it should be and the engine would stumble. However, to make a long story short, the reason I wanted this particular minivan was that I already owned a 2005 MPV, which I had purchased new in 05 new. It had just died an untimely death after 246K miles. I really liked this model which was discontinued in 2006. The engine on my old MPV had overheated due to a problem with the Fan Control Module. I watched it climb to the max of the gauge reading until it smoked and died. The mechanic said $2,500 for a used engine, but my MPV rusty and had other issues. Buying a used MPV allowed me to salvage parts before I junked the old one.Since I bought this MPV, I have learned how to do my own maintenance on my car. Not everything I did was needed, but I wanted to know it was as good as new. I changed the fuel injectors, plugs and boots myself. That fixed my check engine misfires. I now get 22 MPG and it purrs like new. I also super-cleaned the engine of any crud to make it look showroom ready. I replace my own brake pads and rear discs with the best parts I could find. I then order parts online and had Meineke install new shocks, struts and an exhaust system. Amazon parts saves lots of bucks. I took everything good from the old minivan and put it on the replacement MPV where needed, including my tow package and aftermarket DVD receiver. I changed all of my own fluids for the first time and and am keeping a maintenance log for this car. After spending an additional $2,500 and driving it 20K miles, I love this new MPV. I just dove it on a 1,200 mile road trip with no problems. I hope to keep it for at least the next 6-10 years. I also rust-proofed the under-body, because, this car does rust if you dont.I know this post is more about me and my car than the dealer, but when buying a used car, know what you are getting. The salesman is there to sell. I am very happy with my purchase!Wish me luck.
