It was my first time here and all I wanted was an inspection and to get my alignment done, I figured since everything ran smoothly the first time, I was going to go back and visit them to get my A/C check, and they ran me a bill of 2,000 just to get my holes replaced (which was already brand new) and to get another part replaced for just about $800 and more for labor, I immediately called my dad and I took my services somewhere else, this was back in August, its October, I still havent got my renewal sticker, I check online to check the status and come to find out there was no status or order put in place. Now I am in trouble by my sergeant and peers because this issue wasnt taken care, I wouldnt be surprised is they overcharged me for the inspection. oh and did I mentioned they dumped all my freon and coolant out? yea, yall will not be seeing me again, I dont recommend anyway at least for any black customers. stay blessed

The labor was more expensive than the shop I usually take my cars to, and they held my car for a few days. They seem to care and that is why they held my car for so long. They wanted to fix it right. I would recommend this shop to anyone and I am planning on going back!!

I took my car in because I had ABS lights on. They troubleshot it and said module needed replaced and recommended i changed out the actuator too. Cost 1700.Fair enough.Except research showed Toyota would replace it free. There was a notice out there pretty easy to find if you are in that businessWhen I went to get my car, they charged me 89. I asked them about the letter and possibly $20 bucks off. No deal.I am a neighbor and prior customer. I was willing to pay diagnostic but it would have been nice to get 20 off. Left a bad taste. They should have known about free repair notice. They claimed to be pro @hybrid before I left car.They offered a discount on my next work but i doubt i am going back. Too many choices plus a hint of fraud? Dont know and cant tell.

Took in my car almost as soon as I brought it in and finished getting it fixed up in half the time I thought. The staff was professional, friendly and definitely knew what they were doing. Found McDaniel Auto Care do to the moment of convenience but will be a returning customer.

Ahhhmazing customer service! Super friendly, efficient and honest. I was passing through Houston and called last minute for an oil change. Luckily they squeezed me in and I am so appreciative. I have used McDaniels auto care for so many repairs on my vehicle and my sons vehicle. First of all let me say that Anthony goes above and beyond to make sure you leave completely satisfied. He is EVERYTHING you want in a repair shop owner/employee. Kind, knowledgeable, fair, honest, and most of all personable. He not only listens to you but you can see his brain working on trying to figure out your issue while you talk. My teenage son absolutely adores him and the employees here. Sergio is another person that is amazing there. I admit, I can be a handful sometimes but Sergio never made me feel like I was getting on his nerves. He was honest, helpful, knowledgeable, and compassionate with my financial issues with my needed repairs. If you used the shop over on Kirkwood... dont hesitate coming here also. Its the same amazing staff and same honest work here as well. I will follow these guys wherever they go as long as Sergio and Anthony are around. **for reference my car is a Infiniti g35 and my son has a Honda Civic, so they are certified for all types of vehicle repairs. Equally important, they are honest. They will not tell you to fix something that does not require fixing. They will point out what needs attention and leave it to you to decide when to fix it. Remarkable service, I drive across town for them to work on my car. Super knowledgeable, reliable and good to their word. When you need professional and courteous mechanics, these are the guys to go to. The price they gave me over the phone, which by was by far the best price in the area, to replace the brakes and rotors on my 2010 F150 was the price I paid, no questions asked. They even looked into some other problems I had, and gave me a quote free of charge. This place is great, and the shuttle and available rental cars free of charge seals the deal! Thanks guys!

Update: never mentioned the fact they told me my battery was bad and needed replacing, besides charging ~300$ for a new battery and installation(rip-off) O’reilys tested my battery and said my battery was completely fine and at 96% don’t get scammed avoid bringing your car here, tried to warn everyone. Look at all the one star reviews. when they tell you something is wrong and charge you a 500% markup to a problem they conveniently made up. Most people wouldn’t know they ripped you off most people are not experienced with car mechanics read the one star reviews on here all got lied to, all went and got second opinions. EVERYONE PLEASE RECONSIDER COMING HERE WITH YOUR VEHICLE...To be honest I would rather not contact you directly I would rather contact you right on here, since you want to write my name on every reply here’s another one to write, judging by your yelp reviews seems other customers have had trouble with the same manager, and attempting to over charge for simple things, as well as deceitful tactics. Didn’t feel like one one star review could possibly explain the level of discomfort your shop presented. Especially when I pay money out of my pocket and get trash talked by your manager talking about “he’s not my bro” and saying “don’t put words in my mouth” when I directly quoted his words, also said he had cameras to prove it and I told him pull the cameras... so yeah, try not disrespecting paying customers, some people know how to use the internet pretty well. When I moved into the neighborhood from out of state I tripped over McDaniel Auto Care before learning that a few of the people I worked with had their car repairs done there too.Each and every time that I have had my car serviced at McDaniels, I have been blown away by how positive my experience has been.They are honest, kind, and awesome at doing what they do. As long as I live in Houston, I will only go to McDaniels for car repairs.

Absolutely the best shop Ive ever been to - I made an appointment and came in advance with a (complicated) suspension lift - the team there did such a great job installing it, the ride is BETTER than factory! Id recommend either location for anything you need done - these guys arent just mechanics, theyre innovators and problem-solvers too. Id rate higher than 5, but I cant!

Air conditioner went out as I had just started a new job here in Houston. The shop was honest and up front. Even gave me a car to use at no additional charge. After I got the truck back there was one little snafu that was missed, but it was an honest mistake and things happen. While on my way back to the shop I noticed the blower on the air would only work on high. Once I got there I explained the problem and they said they would check it out as well. Turned out to be a realtor to control the fan speed and they replaced it at no charge. Great customer service and shop rates. Highly recommend. I will be back for sure.

Nothing but the best experience! I can not rave enough about the work done at McDaniel Auto Care. I took my sons Mazda to them after having it at a Mazda dealership just to have it inspected because it seemed like I was being taken advantage of. Well come to find out I was. The work the dealer supposedly did was not done. Fortunately I did waste unnecessary money at the dealership! The car was tuned up and runs like a dream!

McDaniel is family owned and employs seventeen mechanics. I had an inspection problem with my 18 year old Ford Ranger. They changed out the fuel pump in the same day and later it quickly passed. As a customer who owns Houston oldest residential construction company and should know what good service is, I can say that the service provided by McDaniel is EXCELLENT!

Oliver and his crew are amazing!!!!! I will definitely be back no matter how far I need to drive. My engine died and I had it towed there, he knew I sick about it and did everything in his power to salvage my car. Oliver is a happy sunny guy who lives in Houston for a while. The garage changed engine oil fast at a good prices. The garage is located in a convenient place, and the facility is spacious and well vented.

I started going to this shop after my last shop, while still doing impeccable work, was always overbooked and effectively could never see me. This place is extremely reliable and friendly. Ive gone here for both small and large work to be done on both my cars.As a previous poster referred to - sometimes the parts will cost a little more, but thats because they dont cheap out on parts and use ones that last longer. They are upfront about what they are doing and are always willing to talk over any price/labor concerns. If you want to just go for the cheapest option available, Wal-Mart is always open, but youre going to pay more for labor in the long run replacing the parts repeatedly.

Chris the manager at the Briar Forest location was extremely un-professional and quite honestly was attempting to SCAM me. DO NOT EVER bring your vehicles to this place, they will attempt to charge you thousands of dollars for a simple module unplug. This man called me and told me it was 1400$ for something that didnt even happen. The problem was my passenger kicked a kick panel and knocked a few cords loose. WHY on earth did Chris call me and say the entire module needed to be replaced for 1400$ because it got wet it is in my mind that at that point he was planning to spray water into my truck to charge me more money. After Chris stated it would cost 1400$ to fix I said I was going to be taking my truck else where he quickly said oh well we can repair it for $850. I still refused saying I would have the truck towed later and he could speak to my father as he knows more about cars in general than I do. My father went to mechanic school and knew what the issue was so he wanted to fix it himself, however I didnt want to put a burden on him so I would have been fine with paying to get it fixed. When I came to get the truck towed to my house to fix at my fathers house, Chris bashes my fathers intellectuality by saying I dont know why he wants to get it towed you could just get it fixed here. leading me to believe that it was something worthy of cost, I should have gone by the red flags of him going from 1400$ making up something got wet to $850 to $500 in the end. by the way it took probably 5 minutes or less to fix what was wrong with my truck. When I came back to pay him, I explained to Chris like a man with no words of ill intention toward him I said you charged me 340$ extra for something that took two minutes, and I believe i said the word bro somewhere in my sentence. Cant help it that is how I speak. CHRIS extremely rudely looked at me and said Im not your bro I said youre damn right about that I honestly didnt have time to stoop to Chriss level of pettiness so I said you know what just let me swipe my card go grab my truck, zero intention on sitting there all day and talking to CHRIS his professionalism is very low and over-all one of the worst experiences ive ever had in my life, with any business. Never have I wrote a review in my entire life, on any business. I came here today to inform the community to be very careful and I STRONGLY SUGGEST TAKING YOUR CAR ELSEWHERE BEFORE THEY SPRAY DOWN Your computer system do not forget this man told me I had water in my computer and then after my father spoke to him he never mentioned anything about water again. One of the most un professional people I have ever encountered. I am absolutely glad I am able to write this review and share my experience. Everything stated is 1000% accurate.

Theses reviews are ABSOLUTELY CORRECT when it comes to over pricing NO LIE!!! My husband came to this location getting a diagnosis done on his vehicle which cost him $130. They told him what the problem was and a total cost, which didnt sound far about right to me(as a woman). A total rip off,they are. What Machanic goes down on prices when you certain of the problem? Or even ask what can you pay? And then states just give me cash! So I done some research of my own. When they do these types of things its a sign of money hunger. They were charging him hundreds of dollars more for the part (called the dealership) and who knows for the labor. And last but not least had the nerve to constantly call his phone repeatedly to convince him to come in so they can do the job. Go to this place if you want to ENTER AT YOUR OWN RISK!!!!!!! #Shady

Ive been taking my truck here off and on for years. They are pretty professional. Not sure if I was taken advantage of, Im not a expert on car maintenance. So, I will just say my experience. I needed a new radiator, I asked if I could purchase the part to lower the cost. They said no. So I ended up paying $850 for this. Recently, I needed an oil change and they told me I had an oil leak that would cost $500. Ever since the oil change, I can smell oil, something Ive never smelled before the oil change. Im just giving my personal experience. Hopefully nothing crazy happened to my truck.

They are very honest and trust worth. They did a great job on fixing up my truck with good reasonable prices. Quick with getting your troubles fixed on your auto. I would recommend them to anyone.

The air conditioning for my car recently broke just in time for the summer, and living in Houston, AC is a necessity! Oliver was able to get my AC unit fixed and in and out within the store in an hour. The prices were very reasonable and I was told beforehand of them what needed to be fixed.On top of that, the pressure in my rear right tire had been slowly losing pressure, and from what I could see, I was not able to see a nail or piece stuck into it. However, with the employees there and lifting my car up, they were able to find a small screw that got stuck in the inner tire. They recommended to get a tire patch up at a tire store, rather than trying to nickel and dime me for a repair of their own.I highly recommend this store for anybody that lives in the area.

I have worked on cars myself as long as i can remember. I do not like to pay others for what I can do myself. It just so happened that i bought an old accord in working condition, shortly after the fuel pump broke and i did not have the time to fix it myself.I called McDaniels because they where close by, and i have to say it was a great decision. They came and picked my car up within an hour, fixed my fuel pump the very next day, and at a very good price! They did not try to up sell me, or tell me my brakes where shot, or any shady practices that you hear about in the automotive industry. They even had the courtesy to hold my vehicle for a whole week due to my work schedule.These are very respectable mechanics, and honest people, and i would drive as far as it took to have them service my vehicle if i ever needed it again. Oliver was extremely helpful and friendly. He explained all the work that needed to be done and provided me with a loaner car while my vehicle was being fixed. They were able to change the spark plugs and the idle control valve the same day I brought it in. Will definitely be bringing my car back when it needs regular service or other maintenance. They even straightened my hood!

We went in for AC repair. In less than 24 hours, our AC was completed and blowing like the Arctic Circle! These guys were extremely professional from the start and will work on any car I own. I will definitely recommend this shop to anyone I know!

In the past I have come across some shady mechanics, so its a big deal when I feel I can trust the person working on my car. Ive been to both locations on Kirkwood and the other on Briar Forest. Both have great friendly customer service. I just had two leaks fixed so that I can pass my inspection test. Naturally I was concerned about the fee because I am on a tight budget but Chris was nice and worked with me on the total cost of getting the leaks fixed. His whole team were very nice and respectful. Thank you Chris and the McDaniel Auto Care team!

My car wouldnt start so I had it towed here thinking it was think it was the starter. I still dont know actually what it was. But they said it was an after market car alarm. My can doesnt have one and never had one. I even verified it with the place I bought the car from. $322 dollars later.

Mixed bag on experiences with them. I have taken 3 cars there. The first need some transmission work done. They were fast and the prices seemed very reasonable. The second vehicle i took there had an oil leak. Turns out there was a gasket issue. The price was higher than I expected but I needed it done and it was there. The third and final car needed some suspension work. They charged me 1500 for something that should have cost 800-900. If I was not constrained by time I would have not had them work on it. There prices for parts were almost double what orielys had listed. Wont be coming back. Location is close to home but that is only worth so much.

I went to this auto shop based on the reviews. I took my truck there during lunch and needed to go back to work. They loaned my a car to take back to work while they finished my truck. Unfortunately, I had to have my shocks replaced, but they worked with me getting a good deal. They also took the time to discuss what the issue was and why it needed to be replaced. They offered to show me the broken part before I made the decision to replace it. I felt like they were upfront and honest. Im new to Houston and was recommended by a friend who recently got new brake pads here. Chris was extremely friendly and helped me change my engine filter since I lacked the tools to do it myself free of charge!

They did good topping off my transmission fluid. Gave good advice about 6 months ago. This time they replaced a battery end terminal. They just did the basic service period. I got home and the car would not start. They did not tighten the connection.
