I went in this past weekend and I could tell by the dirty floors and foggy glass container that this place is poorly ran. While ordering the employee was very kind, but I could tell that they do not enjoy working there. I spoke more with the employee who told me about problems they have reported that the owners blatantly disregard. Based off the excellent customer service I received from the employee. I personally believe that this is an ownership problem. I genuinely feel bad for their employees as their needs seem disregarded from the owners. I will not be supporting this place until ownership figures their stuff out.

I came in the other night and the place was dirty and seemed very understaffed. The manager I spoke to was very kind, but Id like to see the store be more efficient instead of having all customers wait 30+ minutes. Also the prices are outrageously high for knock off ice cream.

Sweet Home Gelato was absolutely delicious, with a broad range of flavors, a great atmosphere and reasonable prices as well. I definitely will be coming back to try more!

Sweet Home Gelato is definitely in my top two favorite gelato places EVER! Its THAT good! They have such a cute place, located in the beautiful town of Highland Park, with so many different delicious flavors of ice cream! I highly recommend the Stracciatella, its definitely my favorite gelato flavor of all time.

Not impressed with the taste. We had Vanilla and Mango. Very stale, almost artificial flavor. Nice location in Highland Park though.

Great little gelato place. Priced fairly for some really high quality gelato which they let you taste before you buy. The staff is friendly and theyre usually open pretty late. Location is great too as theres a lot of cool stuff nearby. I would recommend this place to everyone.

I just want to share that I had an awesome experience. I come here quite often and the works are always so polite and helpful. The shop all around is spotless and has a safe environment in these stressful times. YOU GUYS ARE DOING GREAT!!!!

I DONT know what is happening with the CUSTUMER SERVICE in the North Shore. My wife had a bad experience today. She felt very bad being mistreated by one of the ladies that works there. My wife: I just wanted one large up to 3 flavors cup, she thought I was referring to a pint, so she asks to her supervisor if 3 flavors can go in one and she says, yes. I WAS READING THE MENU ON THE WALL, but she got so upset because apparently I TOLD her a pint, so she corrects her mistake after confronting me that I SAID a pint. Anyway she proceeds to fill the cup with the 3 flavors, and she barely filled it up and she almost threw it in our faces, she was ringing us up, but it felt more like a favor she was willing to make that annoyed me and then I GOT upset and said that I wanted a reimbursement, without even touching the cup, so that was easier, then she asks why and what is wrong? I told her that her ATTITUDE, that was the problem, so she did a full 180. Even behind the mask you could tell she changed her attitude. Bottom line I think that it was rude of her to treat me with less professionalism from a simple misunderstanding. GREAT GELATO THOUGH, not so sure if Ill go back. Thank you for your time.

The person serving me not only incorrectly made my milkshake she laughed at my flavor combo. And the bathroom had urine stains everywhere.

I found a chunk of hair within my mango sorbet and I will never be going back.

This gelato place is unbelievably good! When I first walked in it was so beautiful with all of the modern lights, walls, and setup for the gelato. The way they set up their gelato was very pleasing and I can understand everything well. The people working there are very nice and they offered me samples. The gelato is sooo creamy and definitely recommend for anyone and especially kids. After having this I loved gelato and prefer this over ice cream.

Best gelato!

I have been living and working in Highland Park most of my life. Sweet Home Gelato is a place I go for one of the best overall experiences in town. The staff is always very kind and pleasant and even helpful when I cant decide what flavor to get! I have even been advised as of late to get two flavors in a cup instead of just one! And the macarons are unique in their flavors. Last night I had an Earl Grey tea one that was out of this world! I am proud this gelateria is right in my hometown on the main drag. An excellent after dinner treat, or in my case, an after walk treat with staff that cant be beat!

Great Sorbet, horrible customer service.Im sure the person has had a long day, but we were the only two in the store, and never got greeted, or our greeting returned. And all of that was cool, until my wife said thank you, I left him a tip, and still nothing from him. Hope he just had a long day, and that isnt the normal. Will still be back.

Nice people working at this place.

Best Gelato - Try the Pistachio!

This review is for the Highland Park location.Worst gelato ever. We brought some friends. Each one said the same thing. The gelato was stale, not creamy and we all threw them away. Most of the flavors looked the same way. The cappuccino bean had to be scraped not scooped, looked old and crystalized. I actually saw folks leave and go to Dairy Queen.

Id never had gelato prior.....but I have to say the staff was friendly and knowledgeable. The gelato itself was better than I anticipated. Its somewhat pricey but worth it.

Lovely place with great service and big selection of flavors, however the milkshake I got was not very flavorful. Will have to to back to try the gelato on its own to better determin!

I would suggest the Biscoff. Its the best flavor in my opinion. Really good gelato.

Absolute best dairy free dark chocolate gelato I have ever had!!

I went a few days ago with my wife and the gelato was mediocre at best. I was rather disappointed that it was around $10 for $5 worth of gelato. The service wasn’t anything spectacular either. What I believed to be the manager was sitting on their phone while the employee was serving multiple customers. I’m not going to blame the employee for seeming tired because I believe the manager could’ve at least done something besides sitting on their phone. I don’t believe I will return to this place for overpriced gelato.

I went in the store the other day and there was no limit for the amount of people in the store, they allowed people to sit and eat inside while Illinois spikes, the outside tables were not spaced out, there was no clear barrier, etc. I will not be returning anytime soon.

The gelato is okay, kinda bland. Their sorbet is better.
