I love this organization! I have found many beautiful, barely used or brand new garments over the last several years. I dont have the income that would allow me to by retail. I only shop on a 50% off day. The staff is always pleasant and helpful

Pros: Super clean and super organized, its huge and has everything, and it smells AMAZING in there.Cons: These are not thrift store/second hand prices at all, my goodness! I was in there for 15 minutes, saw three different things priced HIGHER than what I recently paid in a department store NEW. Some things even had department store tags still on them (A vase with a Dollar General tag that said $8 was priced 9.99 by Community Aid)Advice: If youre searching for fun unique stuff, this may be a good place to shop. Do not come here for bargains though

One of my absolute favorite thrift stores in the area. Its very clean and organized--especially the clothes! They are organized by size AND color AND type! I love that they have featured clothing depending on the season. They are constantly getting new items in so its always fun to go frequently. They have a large selection of housewares, toys, baby and womens clothing (mens isnt always the greatest but thats how all thrift stores seem to be), shoes, books, electronics, picture frames, and everything and anything in between.Take advantage of their deals. Wednesdays are 50% off *almost* everything, and they usually have a color tag of the week being only $1. They also have days where you get a discount if youre a student, a teacher, or a hero. The only downside to this thrift store is that they do NOT accept returns. Keep this in mind and try to make sure you try on clothes before purchasing.

Harrisburg Community Aid is the best place to go for clothes, shoes, purses and electronics. They have a separate section for brand new and the more expensive items. Easy to find anything and friendly staff!!

Now that Community Aid has run all the other consignment shop out of business, they show theirtrue colors. Their businesss mission is not about aiding the community, as their name suggests. Its about the upper echelon in Administration getting a third vacation home. Hence the outrageously high prices, home goods that dont work, clothing that is stained and/or ripped and torn. I watched an elderly man clean out the entire rack of womens blouses that were priced for one dollar each. His cart was so full the clothes were falling off the cart. Yet, CA has no limit on the number of pieces a reseller can buy. Thats just wrong. Women, especially older women are at an economic disadvantage and CA shows no concern about the supply of items. I would encourage one and all to avoid CA thus collapsing their money grabbing, and bottom-feeding business behavior.

Very nice and very large thrift store. The store is very clean and very organized. There is a mens, womans, childrens, shoe, furniture, kitchen, books, stuffed animals, toys, and even some sporting goods and luggage. Shopping carts are available. Prices are very good. Many registers up front for when you are ready to check out. Large parking lot out front with handicap spots by the door and a sperate section for drop offs around the back. Worth stopping and taking a look.

Its unacceptable that the store sells broken, untested items at a high price while also having a No Return policy. Ive had four purchased items recently no work when I got home and these could have been easily tested by putting batteries inside or plugging in the item before sealing it inside a poly bag.

They sold my property and will not replace it.I feel wronged by this store (Lewis Rd/Harrisburg) - they sold a pantry cabinet that I already bought and was pending pickup. They said we’re sorry “you wouldn’t believe how many people come up and buy things that have been sold already” - This was the first sign to me that they do not care about the customers time or money. If it happens a lot, they apparently do not intend on fixing the problem or have failed to see the inconvenience they cause people. They refunded me and gave me a store credit, but honestly I need that specific piece of furniture way more than I need the cash. At this point I told them it wasn’t about the money, it was about the fact that their business sold what belonged to me, and they should be responsible for getting me another one.I feel as though they could do much more than what they did for me. Am I just crazy or does it not make sense to replace someone’s property that was lost due to your company’s negligence? And if they can’t replace the item they should reimburse me to buy a comparable one.A new version of what I paid for is triple the amount, so now I’m out $100 bucks because this business made a mistake and they won’t do anything about it? Don’t get me wrong, mistakes happen, but the business shouldn’t put it on me to find another one. I feel like the company doesn’t do a good job of keeping the furniture from being taken by other people, so I would recommend going to Salvation Army or somewhere that has figured out the concept of making sure items don’t get double sold.Still waiting to here back from corporate to see if they will do anything else for me. I have shopped at Community Aid and spent a lot of money there over the past couple of years. I think a huge company like this should be able to front $100 for a mistake that they made, but we will see if they do anything about it.

I have been going shopping at this Community Aid almost every week since it has opened. I love shopping here. It is a great store with great selections. It is a very large, and clean store. Wednesdays are great for shopping as everything except red tags are 50% off, but the store is usually wiped out in a few hours. I have slowly become disatisfied with who has been running it. When the store first opened, the prices were great and my fiance and I were able to save a lot of money on a lot of things. As time went on, gradually the prices began to shift more and more towards retail price on many categories of items. For example: a T-shirt then would have cost you $2.99, plus the daily discount on certain days. The same T-shirt now will cost you $7.99+ in that store, with it not being eligable for the daily discount depending on its color tag. I have seen this mostly in Womans clothing. There are new policies set in place there that you cant buy Red tags, Green tags or whatever color tags with the daily discount leaving you with only select options of what you can buy. For a thrift store that recieves all of its donations for free, there is no excuse for the significant increase in prices and the policies set in place. If someone does not call them out on it, prices will continue to rise. It is a Thrift Store, not a Retail Store. In my opinion, it is greed, but I do not know any of the financial details of the store to dignify that claim.

Community Aid is a fantastic store that provides a great atmosphere, good prices and an excellent variety of choices. I almost always find a treasure or too when shopping there. My only quibble is that it seems that their selection of toys isn’t as good as it used to be. I’m always on the look out for stuff for my sons (and for me) and they used to sell big bags of toys for an unbeatable price, not so much anymore.

Please take Matthew Dills negative review with a grain of salt. To rate all stores with 1 star seems to indicate an agenda of some sorts. Absolutely LOVE this place.Being a lover of vintage clothing it is the place to be. I have found some absolutely fantastic deals here. Brand new items with tags still on for next to nothing. Wednesdays are half price days. Love that!I have bought myself an entire new wardrobe for less than $100 dollars. No exaggeration. I dont buy myself new clothes any more. Id rather go here and spend 1/10 of the price.Staff is always helpful. The only thing I could possibly see as a bad thing is that if you find something you want, grab it. Because next time you go back it wont be there. The items are constantly changing daily. Regretfully I have missed out on a few items due to the fact that I didnt grab it in time. But I shop here at least three to four times a week. Love it.
