I generally prefer to shop at this OfficeMax rather than the other bigger place right next door because the employees tend to be more helpful and friendlier while the prices are the same or lower.The store is clean and well organized, everything is easy to find. If you cant find what youre looking for one of the knowledgeable employees will gladly assist.

Unaware of how to make a project turn out correctly from the store website, I called the store and spoke to a gentleman by the name of Brian. I ended up calling him multiple times for questions I had in the process of creating my order. Each time he was patient and so helpful. He thoroughly explained things for me so I could successfully complete my order. He went above and beyond. Thanks to his assistance my daughter will be able to have an even more special birthday next week! THANK YOU BRIAN!

If I could rate a 0 I would. Terrible customer service. I called prior to coming and was told a particular item was in stock. Upon arrival found out it was not. Drove an hour just to make a purchase that was given misleading information. Everyone makes mistakes but the lack of customer service from the manager and having him argue with me was disrespectful. All the information he told me was incorrect. I ended up going to another location and they were top notch. Stay clear from this location. They do not have your best interest at heart.

I was helped by Tyler at the Gurnee Office Max. He was helpful explaining the differences in office desks. Since COVID most of us moved home for our work. As time goes on I felt it was necessary to get a decent office desk and Tyler helped me decide which model to choose. Thanks to Tyler and Office Max!

Meh printing experience. The manager lady at the printing stantion was kinda huffy and clearly ready to go home. She made me feel like I was a bother. An hour later after I dropped off the art, she hadnt even started and then dashed home. I had to reexplain what I wanted done to the person who came in after her and then wait another hour more. I guess they only had one colir machine wirking at the time, so I can understand that part. However. They are very understaffed, and seem very unhappy working there.

If I could give Office Max a big fat ZERO I would. I purchased a ATIVA paper shredder an after a couple of use it does not work! When I called tech support they do have any for the shredder I bought. I called the store and they tell they cannot do anything for me since it is the outside the return period. How is it that you dont stand behind the product you sell?! over $100 thrown to the garbage. Avoid this place plague like the plague!

Worst experience ever. I needed 5 flyers printed prepaired the email before I entered the store. Had to stand in line for 5 mins and hear the women behind the counter talk about section 8 housing with the gentlemen in front of me. When they finished I asked for the email address, her reply we dont do that theres a computer you can log into over there. So I pointed to the card under her hand with the email on the bottom she fliped it over and copped an attitude with me . Great store poor judgement on whom they hire.

I was refused business unless I provide my personal information. When I asked how they could refuse processing my transaction without providing my address, phone number and email it was explained that is what your policy was due to employees charging different prices for same service. In my case it was binding a simple document. Needless to say I will not be a repeat customer.

I purchased a set of speakers and went to return them and the man at the counter refused to accept my return. He said that they were not accepting returns at this time. I explained that no one told me about a restricted return policy when I purchased them and he stated it was put into affect after I purchased them. This is no way to do business. After this gets straightened out I will never use their store again.

Not a busy location. I had to get some things printed and they turned out nicely. Im a little surprised that office supply stores are still around. I rarely find myself going in one of these. Cant complain though, they had what I needed.

We stopped in the Gurnee location tonight to buy 12 office chairs. We asked for help from an associate named Austin. This experience was likely the worst we have ever had in a store. As my husband was looking on the shelf to count how many of the chairs we wanted were available-Austin yelled Dont touch those. - In the rudest tone possible. When we asked why we couldnt touch the boxed chairs -he got more rude and kept calling my husband Dude. Even after we asked not to be referred to ask dude, he continued almost like it was the only word he knew. We asked for a manager as his attitude was horrible, the manager never arrived- so we left and took our large order elsewhere. I would like to be contacted regarding this experience. I dont think we have ever seen such poor customer service. He was a young immature punk that needs training and much more. As we were leaving he continued making snarky comments. To call customers dude- was very strange and unprofessional.

I purchased an AMD Lenovo. The laptop went off on the third week. I asked for help to retrieve my receipt. The manager went to his office and came said i couldnt. Please dont trust this store for their discounted computers they sell bad quality PCs. There are many ways to help. But, the manager wouldnt help.

I went there to print a color print regular paper at 10:20am when they had just opened. This lady was standing with two customers on the computer for 20 minutes doing nothing but looking at the screen. She told me to wait 2 minutes but instead she didn’t even care there was another customer in line. I suggest to improve the staff or at least give other employee how to use one simple printer to color print something because honestly I was disappointed for how long I had to wait when there were 5 employees in store and only one knew how to use a printer.

The Office Max in Gurnee, IL are very professional and also very knowledgeable of the products they sell. Rencently, I purchased an HP Laptop from them and the salesman, Theodore was extremely helpful at finding a laptop that best fit my needs.

This afternoon I went to Office Depot In Gurnee and was warmly greeted by Eric. He offered to help and because I was ready to buy 1000s of dollars in merchandise for charity, he suggested some options that might work best for buying in bulk. He was kind thoughtful and willing to help. (you know, great customer service which is rare these days)Then I was approached by the Manager Scott. Scott informed me that because I was buying so much he needed to remind me of that the sale prices were limited to 6 and anything after that would be regularly priced. I jokingly said then I guess I will have to come back each day unit our free supply event. I had no intention of doing that. I explained to Scott why I was purchasing so many items. and he rudely interrupted stating that Lake County has plenty of money. What?!!!Scott, surely youre not saying that ALL of lake County is wealthy. Working in outreach and visiting communities less fortunate than mine and obviously Scotts. working in outreach has taken me to many areas in need of assistance. Maybe Scotts earnings at Office Depot put him in the higher echelon and doesnt realize that taking a small burdon such as purchasing school supplies off of parents supports the community. Maybe their child need a 120$ calculator and the money they save from humbling themselves and going to a local supply fair, they would in return spend at the Gurnee Office Depot and Scotts bonus would go up.I neatly returned the items to their spot and will be taking my business to a different store. I only hope that Office Depot doesnt train all of their managers to behave like Scott.

Placed 2 online orders in the morning to pick up for evening event. Received email the orders were ready. Picked up orders only one was found, I waited 40 mins for them to reprint. Not enough coverage at print desk. Lots of errors.Not first incident either.

I am a frequent shopper specifically at this location. I have bought merchandise from furniture, school supplies, office equipment to even electronics. The people there arent bad but theres nothing that would make them stand out either. That is not the reason I gave this store location a 2/5 rating though. Every time I have come to print out business cards, brochures banner or anything of the sort the computers freeze. I am usually very patient with this issue but it has happened one to many times and it needs to be fixed. Today specifically I waited for over an hour for the computers to unfreeze just to be told to come back another day because they had to be reset.Please fix this issue, I very much enjoy shopping at office max and would hate to have to look for a different service to do business with.
