My Dad found this shop and we have taken all our cars here. Took truck in yesterday and they got the job done yesterday that was a long job but they got it done and completed. Always have been super friendly and very professional and very reasonably priced. We will continue to take our vehicles here. Thank you so much!!!

I had my explorer worked on by this shop and I wont say they didnt do a good job fixing the issue because it has only been a few weeks but so far it is good, but it did take two weeks from the scheduled start date May 17th to get my vehicle back May 28th. Now I have a check engine light on which takes 5 minutes to hook up and check and he said he might be able to get to it by the end of the day or tomorrow. All I wanna know is what the light is on for. But if you want to wait a while to get your vehicle fixed this is the place for you. Also very rare to catch him in the shop Thursday or Friday.

Autosmith recently replaced a rear wheel bearing on my car - just one instance among many over the years where Greg and Autosmith have provided repair and support for me and my vehicles in a timely, professional and superior fashion. I wouldn’t trust any other mechanic with maintenance on my cars and would even have my car towed there for repair rather than go elsewhere and I live over 100 miles from from their shop!John Day

Went in for general service, I met with the Owner, Greg. He explained what was needed then quoted me a very fair price. Took a walk to grab some coffee, came back in and hour and aHalf. My Explorer was ready as when he stated it would be. Absolute no problems, fair price. I would highly recommend Auto Smith for all you needs, thanks Greg.

First off let me say Im a mechanic and never let anybody ever work on my cars. Ive known Greg for some time now and trust him implicitly. Honor, integrity, honesty, and skillfulness are just some of the words I would use to describe him. Just had an alignment and tires balanced, and the work was flawless. I dont have an alignment rack where I work so I couldnt do it myself, Otherwise I would have. Whenever I need work done that Im not able to do, I take it to greg .

We have been taking our familys cars (both old and new) here and have always received honest answers and top notch service.

Absolutely the worst! Asked to diagnose and provide estimate for repairs. Started at $1,200 then went $2,400. Still not running right, misdiagnosis! Finally, after a month in the shop and $2,700 later owner realizes he needs to finish vehicle after he said to pick up with tow truck because I didnt tell him what was wrong?! Fast forward three weeks, not running right at all. Worse than when he started, cant fit it in for another week and cant put much gas in it because they forgot to put in seals to the gas tank. This place is a joke! The owner is a jerk! Save yourself the headache because hell weasel you out of your money and hold vehicle hostage even when you try to pay! Couldve put in a new engine for what this thief has done.

They checked my front brakes. My tire fell off on 7th st. Greg claims he didn’t take the tire off to check the brakes. All 5 LOCKING lugs were off. Causing damage to the fender, quarter panel and brake rotor. If Greg was honest, I would of let it go with a refund but instead he chose to lie. Never again. Cross posting in all southern Oregon social media outlets.

My appointment was 9:30 for a Simple Oil Change, which I brought my own supplies to save $$. I didnt get out until 10:40. I know personally its doesnt take that long. I only observed two mechanics within the whole shop which would explain why the man I spoke with wasnt very polite because he was over worked, & short handed. No I personally wont return because I dont have the extra time to wait any longer for something that should take half the time I was there for an Oil Change.

Review Update: Autosmiths inspection/diagnostic fees are much higher than other mechanics in this county for the same job. Please check other mechanics in Grants Pass first before leaving your car at Autosmith. This review is not about a brake job. Every customer is willing to pay a fair price and understands other things might be found wrong, but when consumer fairness is set aside and details about mandatory fees are not explained that is when it is time to blow the whistle. I am not the only one writing reviews like this about Autosmith.Original Review: Myself and family had been taking our vehicles to Autosmith for 10yrs and although they have been more expensive than other local mechanics their work had been reliable. However, the owner, has chosen in the last two occasions to misquote dramatically. He puts our cars in the shop, jacks it up, then calls and says the price will be double the quote. And since he took the tires off he then will charge $150 labor for a job he does not even finish. This is the second time this has happened and the final time. If you take your vehicle to this location pray that he wont misquote you or find something else wrong with your car you cant afford because you will end up paying $150 whether he finishes the job or not. It is also important to note NOT ALL MECHANICS IN GRANTS PASS PRACTICE THIS BAD BUSINESS.

I first called the Auto Smith inquiring about an assessment check on my vehicle and what kind of prices that would entail. The individual ball parked the price, which I believe is understandable. I later arrived at the Auto Smith, in person to schedule an appointment. Again this same individual gave us an approximate estimate. When I finally arrived on my scheduled date/time with the vehicle and before it even had been checked or even looked at the price miraculously doubled. Yet, nothing new had been added or changed and I was still dealing with the same individual. Now I could understand if during the check he had been required to take a deeper look and that was the cause of the price increase. Regardless, I looked past this price increase and had Auto Smith conducted its assessment. After receiving that information I decided to take the vehicle home and think on my decision. Unfortunately, the vehicle was in much worse condition than I had previously brought it in. It now seems to have a plethora of problems and my previous concerns are dramatically noticeable.Would Not Recommend!

Hi Ive been taking my car to Autosmith for over 7 year. Ive never had a problem with any of the work he has done on my Suburban and there has been a lot. His est. are right on for anything I had done. I stopped going to the dealer because it cost more and the work done wasnt the quality of Autosmith.My brother also takes his car there. He wanted to throw his 2 cents in. Doesnt have a computer, I cant believe it and no cell phone. He also had problems with a different dealer,cost and quality of work. He has had no problems with Autosmith to date. If there was problem Autosmith stands behind there work.Thanks,Jim

Would not consider purchasing a used car without having Autosmiths techs conduct their 100-point inspection. Very thorough. Nothing gets by them. Inexpensive investment.

I never right a review. I believe this place to be the best car repair place on the planet! I have a dodge truck that breaks down every other month. All I have to do is call him and he helps me. They are very resonable and speedy. I am very glad I discovered The Autosmith. I am glad to know that honesty is still out there.

Did repair did not care to redox a problem, got it fixed cheaper elsewhere

I am not sure what happened to my orginal review. I came back to update it. On July 7, 17 I had autosmith do some work on my diesel truck. One of the things I needed done was adjust the E brake cable. (LR was warm once when RR was not and the E brake would not hold my truck on a small hill) They checked it by using my diesel engine to try to go with the E brake on. Mistake number one in my opinion. Mistake two was they tried it on flat ground and said it was fine and refused to adjust it! So fast forward 13 months, Id been dealing with no E brake, having to shut truck off to get through gate at my driveway and again to close the gate etc. I had googled it and evidently came upon a more difficult way to adjust the brake cable. I had never done it before nor had I ever seen it done. So I lived without it. My friend checked it yesterday. A couple turns with an open end 1/2 wrench and it was much better. I was shocked. I said I know it can be better yet as I still had to mash the peddle down a little more than needed. So he did a few more turns and wow, it works! That isnt the only reason I was unhappy about autosmith, but that sure was the one that made me never want to go to them again. If they reply to this, I do not plan to argue back and forth. I keep diligent notes, I know my truck and I know that the E brake was not right the day I took it to them. He was rude when I called and told him that day when I came home that it didnt work to try to get in my driveway and he would not make it right and said that we didnt have a good relationship!

Not impressed with the business practices here!! After discussing with others in town, I have found this is the last place to take your vehicle.

Autosmith is the only shop in the area that was able to correctly tune the dual carburetors on my hotrod. Not the cheapest shop in the world, but, arguably, the BEST!

The Autosmith has been doing all automotive care and repair for me for several years. The several years continue because of the excellent work they always do.

After 2.5 months I still have not gotten my car back. We have paid over 2000 part of which was for misdiagnosis and have dealt with wrong parts being ordered as well as lack of interest. When I asked when I would receive my car back from here I was yelled at by the man that works there saying he didnt even want to do it and he didnt know when it would be done. As a mechanic I figured he could give me a date but apparently that is not something he is smart enough to do.

Greg at this location was extremely short with me and very belittling to me on the phone. I have cash in hand and am ready to pay for service but refuse with the way he handled our conversation. You are not important to these people. I immediately chose to go elsewhere.
