The process was efficient and we were satisfied with the purchase negotiations including the trade-in, communications and the delivery. The staff was courteous, professional, knowledgeable and we were treated with the respect and did not feel pressured. This is the third car that we have purchased from Mr. Lee, the previous two were at the dealership where he had worked previously. We just purchased a brand new Impreza from Wilkins Subaru with a manual transmission, which is very difficult to find lately. Purchased a new Subaru. I was treated with respect and kindness. They went over and above to ensure I had a good car buying experience. No haggling or hassle on pricing. They were priced better than other dealers with the same car. We price matched car max offers with no issue on trades as well. My only two complaints are that they didn’t return my tags so now I have to make a trip to the MVA, and they tried to sneak a form in to take my social security number so they could run my credit when I was using my own financing, which they knew as soon as we started talking. I’ve bought many cars and never had to return my tags myself - which is the reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5. Overall it was a great experience and I would buy another car from Wilkins Subaru in the future.Edit: They also gave me the car with barely any gas. to give them some credit I was in a rush, but they should have put gas in the car before or after they cleaned it.

I rented a car through Subaru’s Just Drive program. The prices are a fraction of the cost of a normal rental car program and I got to work with Carl. He was professional, considerate, and timely with responses. I missed my flight and he worked with me to coordinate another time to pick up the car. He took the hassle out of car rental and made me feel like family. I am so happy for this service. Highly recommend!

Amended Review: Below still applies, but my wife dropped it off. I realize you need to return the loaner with a full tank, but I picked it up on full drove 5.6 miles and now its under full. If they get 30 miles per gallon and it doesnt still say full after 5.5 miles then it wasnt full. Thanks for making my wife leave and go put $5 of gas in and come back. Sam was not pleasant. Even my wife when she picked it up didnt care for his attitude.I posted about my purchase here 18 months ago that was excellent. Now an update on service. This was about as easy a transaction as you can have. I spoke with Carl to ensure not only would I have our regular service but the scratches taken care of. He said a loaner would be there for me and although he would not be there, he would leave instructions when I drop off at 6pm.You know things always go sideways when the person you speak with isnt there. Well not at Wilkins. The young man in service was excellent, circled my scratches, loaner was there waiting for me, and off I went. No waiting, no miscommunication, just fast and friendly service. Have had multiple great experiences at Wilkins! First was with the service department - I rented a car to do an extended test drive, and the service manager, Carl, made sure I had everything I needed and made sure the experience was excellent. Because of this experience, I went back to Wilkins to buy my car. Ryan was our salesman, and he was great. The process was straightforward, they listened to what I wanted, and the most important to us - Ryan really valued our time. We were only in the dealer for about 2 hours, and then came back later to pick up my new car. A great experience and I highly recommend Wilkins!

Bought a used Subaru 8 months ago. Just brought it in for its first oil change (since Ive owned it) and got a list of repairs needed. One very concerning one that probably should have been addressed when this car was taken in by the dealership. My engine is leaking oil and would need around $4k and a week without my car to fix. What kind of business sells a car that has multiple engine leaks?!? Need to contact the dealership about this as I hope they will offer some kind of remedy.

Excellent experience! I came to Wilkins even though there is a different Subaru dealership much closer to my home. The entire process at Wilkins was incredibly inefficient...95% of everything was taken care of through phone calls/emails so that, when I came to pick up the vehicle, I was out of the dealership in under 30 minutes. Car was absolutely immaculate when I picked it up and, when I had a couple of questions after my purchase, the finance manager Eric and my sales person Jesse were both incredibly responsive. Would absolutely come here again.

Bern and Justin provided us with a great experience at Wilkins; the service department here is also always so friendly and kind. I had communicated with Bern prior to trading in my previous vehicle and he had four perfect new Subaru Crosstreks in various models ready for me to look at and test drive upon my arrival. Bern was very detailed in showing and demonstrating all of the new safety features for me, and refrained from pushing me towards any particular car model; rather, he allowed me space to think and consider each option at my own pace. The team worked with us on our new car selection to get my wife and me the right car to meet our needs and pleasing to drive. Kevin, (the General Manager), Dennis (our main salesman), Ryan, Justin (the rest of the sales team), and Jason (finance) were extremely professional and courteous to handle our seesaw back and forth on the new car and we were not the easy street customer. I bought my car here in 2013, they where amazing for the 5-6 years I used to be greeted by name and a follow up how’s your legacy?Now it’s, did you buy your car here? Oh and this is a good one. Came in for an oil change I was given 2800. In items I need to have taken care of immediately.All things they had been done about 10,000 miles earlierTag light 50.00. I slapped around and it started working (bought one from Subaru 4.50)Timing belt 1,079.plugs 310.00Trans serv 264.00Brake flush 140.Wheel bearing 554.And some othersAll things I had done already except the bearingIt’s really been a let down honestly.Oh they have three new waiting areas!A good service center just can’t trust them anymore.

I cannot say I am a car expert. I recently brought my car in for service on 11.16.2020, for 4 recalls on a 2017 Subaru Impreza. While visiting I was informed there was a nail in the rear passenger tire. I did not have the time to wait for all four tires to be replaced, so I made a second appointment on 11.17.2020.I came in and the tire replacement went by vey quickly, but when I returned home, my partner noticed a hub cap was missing on the front passenger side tire.I reached out to the Wilkins Subaru team to see if they had forgotten to put it back on and in reviewing their videos, they said it was on and present on my first visit for the recalls, but not the next day on my second visit.I have had the car for 3 months with no hubcap issues and dont really even know how invasive the process would be to remove a hubcap, but its parked securely at my home, so I cant imagine why or how someone would steal it, but the team let me know it would be an additional $119 to come back out and to have them install the missing hubcap.Since they were the only people to have touched the vehicle in the time frame, Im just very confused to how this could happen. I came in thinking Id just be getting 4 free recalls taken care of and with the tire and potential hub cap change, Id be walking out spending $899.54. So I am going to see about another dealership, just because the mystery disappearing hubcap kind of has me feeling uncomfortable and disappointed.The team was courteous and quick the second day and threw in a free car wash, so I thought three stars was a fair representation of my full experience

Sometimes buying a car can be a hassle. Bad news, long waits, dealers trying to oversell you on everything... Mr. Lee at Wilkins Subaru was amazing. The ups and downs of the whole process was tiresome and built up a lot of anxiety. But Mr. Lee did everything he could to make the process simple and enjoyable. The man even ran around for 5 minutes in 25mph winds just to find the car we were looking for. I promise you won’t be disappointed with Mr. Lee or anyone at Wilkins Subaru.

What a great car buying experience my wife and i had at Wilkins Subaru thanks to Mr. Yong Lee. Mr. Lee was patient, engaging and informative. He made our time in the showroom a pleasure. I was visiting a friend and I needed a oil change. They have an express service and it was amazing! Everyone was so nice everything was done super fast and I even got a car wash which I desperately needed included in my oil change and tire rotation rotation! They also have free water bottles and an espresso machine!

Had to go there 3 times for one service. Originally came in for a recall. The recall had already been installed but I kept getting emails saying I had a recall regardless. Turns out I actually had the recall already installed. A few days later after getting my car back, I noticed my AC was not working properly. I wasnt able to adjust my temperature. I took it back to them and they fixed it. They told me they forgot to connect a cable. So an honest mistake I thought. Then, I noticed I couldnt redirect my AC when I wanted to. Took it back to them, same issue. They forgot to connect a cable. If you messed up the first time, you would think you would double check the second time around. On top of that, they couldnt reinstall my bluetooth unit back the way it was. Now theres a gap between the dashboard and the BT unit. Might as well do it myself since they dont seem competent enough to do their job right the first time.

I had a great experience buying a 2020 Outback from Bern Norfolk at Wilkins. I came to the dealership knowing what car I wanted and how much I was willing to pay. Bern lent his time and knowledge to make sure I understood my options and had all of the information I needed to feel comfortable with my decision. Until yesterday I had nothing but good things to say about Wilkins Subaru in Glen Bernie, MD. I have always appreciated the customer service that Miguel and Lee Tran give when I bring my car in for service. And to be clear, they continued that great customer service, despite the ordeal Wilkins Subaru put me through yesterday.I was about to head to work on Monday morning and my 2015 Subaru Crosstrek wouldn’t start; the battery was completely dead. I had driven the car last on Friday, so it had only sat for 2 days. I had previously had battery issues while under the 36K mile vehicle warranty and the original battery replaced in February 2017 by Wilkins Subaru with a Subaru battery. After realizing my battery was dead on Monday, my husband put the battery on a trickle charger to charge it up enough to get it to Wilkins Subaru. Upon getting it into Wilkins they first tested the battery and said it was fine. My husband insisted that they do more tests given that it was completely dead just the day before. After doing more tests they came back and said the battery had failed.The Interim Service Manager/ Buick GMC Service Manager, Bob Okopal, told my husband that Wilkins would not replace my battery under warranty because my 36K mile warranty was expired. He said that if I had come in with a failing battery even just a month after my 36K mile vehicle warranty expired, he wouldn’t have replaced it. My husband pointed out that Wilkins had replaced the original battery just 28 months prior to this and that the battery itself comes with a 30-Month Free Replacement Warranty / 85-Month Prorated Replacement. As you can see in the images of my Subaru battery, the 30-Month Free Replacement/ 85-Month Prorated is clearly printed on the battery front AND the top of the battery.Even after this was pointed out, on behalf of Wilkins Subaru, Bob Okopal took a just-plain-wrong stance and refused to replace it under warranty. We called Subaru of America Customer Service and they ended up TELLING the Wilkins Subaru to replace the battery under warranty. Wilkins could not do it on their own, even after seeing the warranty information, they had to have “mom” tell them to do it. To top it off, on my service paperwork they had the audacity to write, “ONE TIME GOOD WILL PER SOA.” One-time goodwill? I would think you meant covered under 30-month free replacement warranty. There is a reason I bought a Subaru; it is because they stand behind their product and that if there is a problem with the product, they fix it. Clearly, Bob Okopal needs to learn that the Subaru way is to do the right thing. In this case, replacing my battery, which had a warranty that I was still covered under, was the right thing to do.Because Bob, on behalf of Wilkins Subaru, could not do the right thing, my husband sat in Wilkins Service Dept for 5-hours yesterday all for a battery that should have been easily replaced under the warranty that Subaru guarantees. I would also like to point out that during this entire fiasco they put us through, I tried calling the service department 5 times and was put to voicemail every time. I left messages for Bob and even the sales manager. The sales manager, Greg, was the only person to call me back and even agreed with me on the warranty issue. Greg had great customer service and heard me out. Thank you for that, Greg!I sincerely hope that Wilkins Subaru finds a new service manager soon because Bob is going to lose them many customers. In fact, Bob made it clear that he was willing to lose Wilkins Subaru a 3-year customer over a battery. At that, a battery that is covered under warranty. And yeah, just 3-years is nothing, but I plan to own a Subaru for the rest of my life. So really you lost a life-long customer.I cannot in my right mind recommend Wilkins Subaru to anyone while Bob Okopal is the “Service Manager” and I would not recommend you take your Buick/ GMC to Wilkins if this is the type of service Bob gives to his own customers there.

My parents purchased an Outback from them and faved about how absolutely amazing their experience was so I checked it out. Ryan helped me with all my questions and couldn’t have made my experience easier. He was patient and understanding and the main reason I purchased my Crosstrek. Before I get into why I gave this review only 2 Stars I will comment on the Service advisers. I talked to at least 3 of them as it was my first oil change here, they were very courteous and knowledgeable, one even gave me of a 10 dollar coupon that we used to lower the price.So now for the reason why I gave Wilkins Subaru 2 Stars on this review. I was lured into the dealership by what they call Express Service, I needed no appointment and a great price to get my oil changed in my Subaru Forester Sport. Express in this case means delivered faster than usual. With that being said the service was far from Express, from the time I arrived and service adviser was given my keys to the time the keys were handed back was 1 hr and 50 minutes. I can hear it now folks wanting to tell me 1 hr and 50 min was good, I would have to ask good compared to what? If you are advertising Express Service then you probably should back it up.So what did they do in this 1 hr and 50 min? Well they changed the oil, did the vehicle inspection, 2019 with 8800 miles on it, so it was an easy inspection I am sure. They also washed the car, now I know what you are thinking well they washed the car, that takes time Yes I do believe it takes time, I wash my car quiet often and it might take me 20 minutes since the machine does most of it, a majority of time I spend is drying it more and wiping down door jams, wheels and other spots the machine might have missed, even then 20 min max. The car wash was not worth the wait. I cannot get the pics posted but if I can you will see what I am referring to.Two points that need to be taken from this review. First, when Express Service is put out there you need to define what express actually should mean to the customer. I read this on the Wilkins Subaru site under Service and Parts in the Express Service tab.It stated that you can stop in for an oil change, tire rotation with no need to schedule ahead of time and they will get you back on your way. Fast.Second when you tell customers you are going to wash their vehicle then wash it make it at least look better than it did when it came in. If you cannot then discontinue that service.Almost 2 hrs was enough, I did not complain as I needed to get to a meeting, that would have taken even more time to fix something that was unfix-able. Sorry Wilkins that was my first and last service with you.Thanks.the most valuable thing we have is time, it is something you can never get back

I took my dad to Wilkins to upgrade his Subaru Forester. We walked in and were immediately greeted by Bern. I explained to Bern what we were trying to do. Bern was amazing. He was detailed, patient, explained and demonstrated the features to my dad on the test drive. I brought my parents back a couple of days later so they could trade their car in for an upgraded 2020 Forester. The entire process was great and Bern was a pleasure to work with. I will say that all the staff we dealt with were sure to do everything they could to help my parents. This is their 4th Subaru from Wilkins, and I recommend anyone looking for a new or pre-owned Subaru to go to Wilkins and see Bern. Thanks Wilkins for making my parents happy! Judging from the other reviews, Id say I had a very odd experience at Wilkins Subaru. I had made an appointment online to come in and discussed that I am looking for a new car and which model I was looking at. Within minutes of arriving, I was met by Tricia who had keys in hand ready to go for a test drive. I was initially surprised and delighted how quickly and prepared she was but when we got to the car, she only asked if I knew my way around the area (I didnt really). Nothing to elaborate on the car itself, the specs, the options, the capabilities, etc. It was either assumed or expected that I already knew. I guess to some people this hands-off approach would be refreshing but I wouldve appreciated more information. Once I got back, our conversation lasted barely 5 mins without much further discussion of the model and no discussion of numbers since they will be changing soon or available financing options. The whole experience felt very curt and impersonal. I actually went to another Subaru dealership later that day and had a much more positive experience.

Looking for a great preowned car? Head over to the used car lot and ask for Mike. My wife and I hate car shopping and we’ve had sub-par or bad experiences our whole lives. When it was time to trade up my wife’s car we braced ourselves. However, we couldn’t get over how painless and even enjoyable our experience was with Mike. I can’t wait to go see Mike when it’s time to trade in my car. He’s a great guy and I’m glad we got to work with him.

BACK in November 2020I found few problems day after.....I took the car back, because it was axle problem, them I went to another dealer to have oil change and they said. Axle and boot are badThey said they fix the window and I continue with the same problem( I am glad they remove the invoice)MAKING THE STORY SHORTNOT HAPPY AT ALLI will NOT recommend this dealear at ALL

This review isnt just on the dealership but the quality of a Subaru Forester in general. I had a 2014 Forester when it was 3 years old it started to burn oil. I took it to this dealership and they did an oil consumption test more than once and said it fell into the normal parameters. Refused to do anything about it. Fast forward 3 years later....Im driving home from out of state and get stuck on the side of a road when the solenoid dies. Thats the inside of my transmission. The suv is only 6 years old now,still burns oil and needs a new transmission. Horrible experience. Ill never buy anything other than Honda again. Subarus suck!

Purchased a new Subaru cross trek! A quality car at a great price. I did most of my negotiations on line. They gave me a fair price. I had a pre approval from my credit union, with a great rate, and arrived with a check in hand. The finance department said they could beat it. I said “go for it”. They actually did and beat my rate l. I was surprised and so was my credit union when I returned my check! I had some special order custom parts put on my vehicle and the work was exceptional and was completed on time. Great all around experience and was worth the drive. Much better then Jones junction and of course my nightmare experience at BOB Bell Essex.

Been going here for all official Subaru repairs, as well as occasional maintenance items, for a couple of years on my Forester. Always had good experiences but the place was previously cramped for parking and seating....well that has been completely resolved now and it is MUCH MUCH nicer. Plenty of room to pull in and check-in your car (my advisor met me at my window and greeted me by name).....large seating area with desks for working and outdoor seating area with Adirondack chairs....plus some free snacks and coffee. This being COVID times, everyone was masked up. Rebekah was my advisor and texted me a number to reach her with any questions, as well as stopped by to give periodic updates. On my latest visit, I had some side effects from a recent factory recall, and the Wilkins team fixed my issue without any question or argument, gave me a free car wash, and I was back out the door all improved in under 2-hours. Overall I have been very impressed with the Service Department at Wilkins and would have no hesitation to recommend them to Subaru owners.

This was the first service on my Outback. I was told 45 minutes to 1 hour wait. It took at least 1 1/2 hours. There was no real communication about how I would know when and if it was done. I thought they were EXTREMELY negligent handling covid 19 crisis. Except for masks, I saw nothing. As far as I know, the service itself was fine.
