I was very happy with Cochran service. I would recommend them very highly. I think their most outstanding characteristic is that they are honest. My wife’s car ran out of gas on 270 near Germantown. I put gas in it but could not get the engine to turn over so I figured it was an alternator. I selected Cochran based on their excellent online reviews and I was not disappointed. They called me the next day said that they had refilled the car with gas completely and they were able to get it to turn over and to run perfectly. Apparently the fuel lines were dry.

If you’re going to a different mechanic, I don’t know how to help you. I use them because my parents did. My dad doesn’t like anybody, but he raves about Cochran’s.They don’t overcharge or do anything shady. You don’t have to worry about getting scammed. On the contrary, I usually leave feeling guilty that I have been undercharged.They’re really kind and informative, too. I don’t know much about cars, so when the tire pressure light came on my beater, I went to Cochran’s to see if they could give me a lesson on tire pressure. Not only did they explain everything and fill up my tires, but they let me try with their supervision, gave me a free tire gauge, and didn’t charge a dime. Good luck finding that level of generosity anywhere else!Just go take your car there. Even if you don’t care about saving money, it’s important to support businesses that are this excellent.

Came in with a minor but incredibly inconvenient issue with the underside of my car. The guys in the shop had the car looked at and repaired in less than 10 minutes. They couldve overcharged me, as I know nothing about cars. Instead they gave me an absurdly good price. Let them earn your business like they earned mine!

I started a new job in Germantown and wanted a reliable mechanic work because I commute from Silver Spring and had just moved away from my hometown. So far ive had a new brakeline installed, a busted headlight replaced, new rear brake pads installed. I drop my car off in the morning and its always ready by the time I leave! They are great with accommodations and recommendations but dont force it down your throat. I am so elated to have Nick and the staff down the street!

Extremely friendly, quick, and (as far as I can tell) honest. Went with a mysterious rattling which they could have claimed was caused by half of the engine needing to be replaced. Nope. Just a loose heat shield, just needed a couple of clamps. Problem fixed, and didnt destroy the monthly budget. Highly recommend.

Great group of people over here that will always do their best to work you in and wont rip your off. Affordable, reliable, and honest. Not to mention that it is located directly across the street from the Germantown Bus Depot. You can drop your car off here then catch the 100 bus to the Shady Grove Metro Stop (Direct route) then pick your car up on the way home. Perfect!

This place is first rate. Guys that work there extremely friendly and professional. Most important there promt and great service. You go to some places for an oil change or tune up they want to keep the car 4 hours or the whole day. Guys at Cochranes no way. Got an oil change from them last week had a 3:00 appointment was out the door by 3:45 great. And btw way way more reasonably price then jiffy lube. I highly recommend this place

This place is horrible charged 132 dollars to run a check engine light and 265 dollars to replace a coolant sensor that probably took 20 minutes and the sensor only cost 32 dollars my bill was 600 dollars for a hours time and 450 dollars was just for the labor

Took my vehicle in for repairs and the same thing i paid them to fix is still not fixed

I took my car in for a MD inspection, and Cochran told me at first that my front ball joints failed. When I called back, they then told me both control arms needed replaced an estimated cost of $1,000. I then took my car to a mechanic that Ive trusted for over 10 years, and he told me that there werent any issues with my ball joints or control arms. I will never go back to this garage again for any auto service. Dishonest.
