They wouldn’t sell me alcohol on my 21st birthday because “they didn’t know what time of day I was born and that makes it illegal”Stores have the right to refuse to serve or sell to someone on their 21st for liability reasons, but “the time of day” is definitely not how the law works.

This place kept me intoxicated ten years ago for FEST. Now Im more than stoked to see them still selling good beer at a good price.

Called to see if they carried Sloe Gin - guy who answered didnt know what that was. After I explained, he laughed dismissively and said he didnt carry anything like that . Holy smokes, if you have never heard of Sloe Gin - a liquor that has been on American shelves for 200 years - I am not sure you can call yourselves a liquor store.Based on its location, and this experience, I believe this may be the best place to get a cheap bottle of flavored vodka or a six pack of Budweiser for your next frat party, but I wouldnt expect you could stock a proper bar out of here.

Gator Beverage is the best place to get beer on the east side of town. It looks like it might just be a kwik stop, but the craft beer selection is top notch. They get new stuff every week, and the prices are a little better than Wards beer prices. The employees are also really friendly and like to talk about beer. The crowd can be wild and kind of seedy on weekend nights, but the employees are great at dealing with them too. So if you need some beer or liquor too, this is your stop.

This place is amazing. Its hard to not stop in a couple times a week just to see the selection and browse. Although I usually end up walking out with something. The guys behind the counter are friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. If you love craft beer, Gator Beverage should be in your top 3 list of Gainesville bottle shops.

Fun place to explore. Its a small store, but there is lots to choose from and try new drinks. The staff is helpful and its a wonderful place to get drinks.

One of my key destinations for craft beer. They get all the good stuff, rares, limited releases. Staff has been extremely friendly and helpful. They know my face whenever I go in now, and their beer knowledge is on point.

Gator is my absolute favorite place in Gainesville for craft beer selection. Andrew is a coniseuur of great beer and he ensures that the shelves are always stocked with popular favorites as well as unique, often hard to find specialties. They also have a modest but surprisingly diverse selection of great liquor and wine. Definitely give this place a try.

I love this place and Dorns to support local liquor stores. They have an awesome selection of beer from your basic big name beer to super awesome micro brews. Most of the guys there are super nice and knowledgeable except for the guy with a pony tail, hes usually pompous and dissmissive (thinks he knows everything). talk to the guys with short hair, they are super friendly and knowledgeable.

Among the few places to get craft beer in Gainesville, this is by far my favorite one. They always have the best selection including rare releases and local favorites. Not to mention the best prices.
