Best local photo shop hands down, I come in every month to get film developed and even tho their policy is 5 days they go out of their way to send in everything two to three days before even in their busy seasons. Will definitely be coming back soon.

Some personalities are not very customer friendly. I guess everyone cant be upbeat but it makes customers feel unwanted.

Pretty amazing place! I get my film developed here and theyre great at processing. The staff are pretty knowledgeable as well and they have a huge selection of Film and Digital cameras. Its literally like a mini B&H, 10/10 highly recommend!

Customer service was amazing for my online shipped order. The shipping company bent the box and ruined my extra large print. When I notified Horn Photo, they reprinted and shipped my order via another carrier that day and I received it the next day. Thankful for their quick response to fix the problem that wasn’t their fault.

Great place!! They do photo restoration and have on sight computers to upload pictures yourself. When it comes to photo restoration they are just way to expensive!! Other places do it for half the Price. With that said..You definitely pay for quality here. Its not cheap but they do a good job!

While trying to decide what camera to upgrade to I devoured info online, but visiting the store and speaking to a few different employees proved to be most helpful. Horn photo saved our photography trip! We flew to California with specialty and hand rolled film for a photo trip around the Sequoia and Yosemite national parks and TSA didnt warn us that the new CT scanners at the airport would expose our film before sending our bag through the scanner. Completely disheartened at the airport gate, I searched for photo places hoping at the very least to find some consumer color film so we could at least shoot something with the film cameras we packed. Once we arrived in Fresno we drove straight to Horn Photo only to find THE BEST CAMERA STORE OF ALL TIME! We were like kids in a candy store when we found the coolers with film varying from black and white to color with a huge range of ISOs (the highest I saw was a 3200 ISO film - insane!) They also carry some lomography specialty films! The prices were very reasonable and the selection was awesome! They had ton of camera gear and pretty much anything you can think of if youre a photographer. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the bathrooms were incredibly clean. This store was an amazing find and we will definitely return!

Great experience at horn photo, I’ve worked customer service jobs a lot as a college student & everyone knows that it’s impossible to please EVERY customers. There’s always those individuals who will knit pick at every little thing. Horn photo staff is very outgoing and they crack many jokes. This is the ideal way to talk to customers, instead of the very robotic responses that many of the bad review were looking for. They do the little things great and there’s a reason they have 4.7 stars.

Im trying to get a 50 year old reel to reel tape transferred to 5 CDs. They can do it... but it takes 6 months. Currently hitting up radio production locations, because my Dads in his mid 80s, and I am trying to get it to him while hes still alive. If I cant, to Horn Photo Ill go!!!

Went the other day employees where talking about me behind my back thinking I wouldn’t hear them.laughed as I took a picture of a lense I wanted to research before I bought because most of the time they wanna sell you what you don’t need.and just confuse you then you have a piece of equipment you don’t need.clearly herd look hes taking a picture will save up and the lense will still be there 2 years later.

Had a broken UV lens on our camera, and they gladly replaced it for free. We had to pay for the replacement lens, but they are always nice and very helpful. Live this store!

I was not in a rush so pass on 24h.I bring in my camera on 5/13/21 told them Ill take the 3-5 days. They said they will call me when its done. Never heard back. So I called them on Friday, 5/21/22, (6 business days later) the guy on phone said its serviced and to come get it.I go to pick up my camera on Saturday morning. After taking a few shots to confirm the sensors are cleaned, I put camera in my bag and left. When I got home, I finally paid attention to their written receipt (attached)#1 I was misquoted $39.99 and got charged $49.95 for 3-5 days#2 It was serviced on 5/15 BUT I WAS NEVER NOTIFIEDTLDR I will not be supporting this local camera stores as there is no real advantage versus online outlets. There are so many online sites that will do what Horn did for cheaper, faster AND THEY DO NOT RIP YOU OFF!

Our photography store in Redding CA closed permanently. I’d used them in the past to do a photo on slate. My sister used Horn Photo in Fresno to make my husband and I one of ourselves as she lives in Fresno. I contacted them on December 16 and Fran helped me order on line. Imagine my surprise and delight that it arrived today, December 18 and it is perfect for our best friends. The turnaround time, friendliness, professionalism, sense of humor, attention to detail and quality of work is exemplary. Although they aren’t here in my town, I will use them again and recommend them highly for those of us here that lost our camera store. I’d give them a 10 star, but I can only do 5.

I always feel important when visiting this store. I am not very camera savvy and they always bend over backwards to answer any questions I may have concerning my camera. All employees are very courteous and accommodating. They definitely care about their customers!

Wow, I’m shocked and disappointed with the staff here on not having the decency to wear a mask at ALL times. I took my grandmother here to find a frame for our photos, however we were both shocked to see one of the women staff constantly take her mask off behind the counter to talk to a male worker who was ALSO NOT wearing a mask at ALL in the back room. The other male worker had a mask but she constantly took her mask off and went to customers in between. How can you put your customers at risk and not follow a MANDATORY mask order? I will be putting a further complaint to Fresno county. PLEASE do not go here. The staff can’t even follow the rules and think only customers have to follow it.UPDATE TO RESPONSE FROM THE OWNER:Hi, you were not the staff member that I saw with the mask off. The staff member without the mask was a younger man processing photos in the back room. How about the woman who was taking her mask off constantly and going in between customers? I would like you to address how you’re going to make sure your staff will be wearing masks at ALL times. A store that can only hold 15 people during a pandemic should NOT have anyone taking their masks off at any point. I understand you have hard of hearing but on CDC’s website it states hard of hearing still needs to wear masks during an active pandemic. There are masks with panels that can help to accommodate you.Another update...Once again, you were not the male I saw without the mask on. You are still not addressing how you’re going to ensure your staff will wear masks at all times especially the women that I saw with taking her mask off. It is disappointing to see you’re still not addressing this and also telling me that I should have talked to you when clearly you stated you don’t wear masks. I would not approach any person who isnt wearing a mask thus why I’m writing this review. I hope you take the safety of your customers more seriously instead of brushing them off.Have a great day.

A month ago I posted a review saying Horn Photo had lost the box containing some negatives I brought it. As I learned weeks later, the item had been removed from the bag before I brought it in. In case anyone read that review, I thought it was important to correct the record so there was no blot on Horn Photos reputation! My deepest apologies!

Ordered prints on Friday at 10pm. Received confirmation email. Called Saturday morning to inquire regarding the approximate time they would be ready since the email didn’t mean ruin it. Would it be the next day, couple days, a week??? An Older sounding lady answered the customer service line. I explained what I was calling for. She asked if I received a confirmation email that my order was received. I said, yes. She replied, then we’ll email you when they are ready.A few hours later I called back to ask the same question since the First Lady didn’t answer it. Another women answered the phone. Her tone was much more pleasant. She also asked if I received the confirmation email. Again, I confirmed. She explained that they were running 5-6 hours behind due to the holidays but would have the prints done later that day.By Monday I still had not received and email saying my 4 prints were ready (3- 8x10, 1- 11x14) . So I called again. Same Older lady answered the telephone and once again not very friendly. I explained everything. Again. She asked about the email confirmation. I confirmed I had received it. This time she took my name and number and said the would check on the order and call me back.Tuesday morning I still had not received a call back. So I called again. Explained everything. Again. The young lady on the phone said she would check on my order. She quickly came back to the line and said my order was ready. I told her that I never received and email and called multiple times regarding this order. She said she would talk to the lab about it....I am not convinced it’s the labs fault for customer service not willing to help a customer when they call. I know it’s busy but if you can answer the phone then you should help the customer. They are just as important as the ones standing in the store.I will think twice before using this business again.Gave 2 stars because this prints looked nice but a hassle to get.

I had purchased my Lumix camera and spare battery almost a year ago when I wanted to take a few pix.I charged the battery and popped it in. To my surprise, nothing turned on. I also tried the original batt supplied by Lumix. No go.I called the store and was asked to bring my equipment in.The young man tried, with no results.He turned to a senior salesman who told him to give him a new battery .Everything worked.Ill be back and will send friends to Horn Photo.Knowledgeable and friendly staff.

Being a professional photographer myself for more than twenty years I highly value a Knowledge based store like this. They not only have an excellent knowledge based team of professionals in the camera department selling not only new equipment, but will buy equipment and sell used gear and on consignment as well. They rent equipment too which is a huge bonus. This team takes the quality time to work with each customer to make sure that you get exactly what you are looking for and teach you how to use what you are buying. Watch for their sales as you get great deals there too. I know, I go in and ask questions all if the time as I research what Im looking for. Horn Photo, cant say much but a really outstanding photo and camera service. Prints are quite to stand out up top to quality.As a sports photographer, theyre sure enough to accommodate your prints as quick as possible. Prices for prints are quite reasonable. All sales reps are very cooperative and they have this vibe where its unexplainable but truly unique. Not a bad vibe, but a great vibe.Camera selection there are fantastic. You range from entry level bodies to professional bodies from Canon and Nikon. From my experience, they know what camera to recommend before you even buy one.Just great.

Having owned a Nikkormat for many years, and appreciating quality 35mm film processing and photo printing, Horn Photo has been a great place for those services.I believe I have visited all the Horn Photo stores in Fresno through the years, but I might have missed one. Friendly and helpful staff! They even put up with an old chatterbox like me! You feel among friends there! After owning and using it for nearly 11 years, I decided it was time to upgrade my Nikon D300. I moved up to a Nikon D850. I could not be happier. The difference between a cropped sensor and full frame camera is incredible.With the D850, I also purchased a Nikon battery grip, Nikon 70-200 and 24-70 lens, and assorted lens filters, batteries, etc.The staff I dealt with (Ryan & Rey) answered all questions I had in a knowledgeable, helpful, and polite manner.I spent a large amount of $$ on this upgrade and the store owner Shelly turned out to be a real peach! She hooked me up with Nikon rebates on some of the items I purchased. I wasn’t even aware Nikon was offering rebates on any of these items. She managed to save me several hundred dollars off of what I was expecting to spend!I’ll only give Horn Photo 5 stars because that’s as high as the ratings allows!If youre looking to purchase camera equipment or accessories in Central California, head on down to Horn Photo in Fresno. Definitely they are more cost effective, personable, and helpful than those online places!

I got a Cannon T7 1500D camera for my wife. I had been checking on line and read up as well as checked prices. The T7 had 18 megapixels on line. But Horn had the newer model and it had 24 megapixels. The service was very good and knowledgeable. The price was comparable on a better camera with two lenses. lenses I got it for my wife. It takes excellent pictures that are sharp and clear. It is easy to use, but offers the options of a DSLR camera with advanced functions. A good chance to learn and grow as a photographer. Horns service and the shop are top notch. After the Pandemic passes my wife can take classes like she wanted.

I know absolutely zero about cameras, but its my sisters hobby, so I always go to Horn since discovering them after moving to Fresno. They always answer my questions and are patient with my complete lack of terminology. Awesome customer service during a recent series of visits too: one of the employees showed me some variable filters my sister could use for outdoor photography, but Horn didnt have the right size in stock, so he made up an order slip for me and said it would take a week or two. A couple weeks later I called to check on the order and spoke with a different employee. He said he didnt have my order slip (no problem, it happens) but that what I had ordered was back in stock. Went to pick it up and, 100% my fault, I didnt check it in the store and I must have explained what I was after wrong as when I got home, it wasnt the right filter. Went back the following day and Ryan was super patient and helpful and made sure I got the right thing, took care of the exchange for me without any hassle, and now my sister will be thrilled for her birthday. Its the above and beyond customer service Ive experienced at Horn the few times Ive been in that I will never go anywhere else when shopping for my sisters hobby. Thank you Horn Photo!

I have been in Horn Photo several times. Each experience was unpleasant. Today I dealt with Ryan, the Camera Department Manager. I came in with the intent of selling a pristine camera lens at a low ball price. I had discussed the sale last week with Aron who also makes purchases of used camera equipment. I had a less than value offer from Aron who stated he would purchase the lens at the offered price if or when I was ready to sell. Today, Aron passed me off to Ryan. Ryan looked at the lens briefly, said he had to look at the price this lens was selling for. 6 minutes later he returned and flatly stated he would not purchase the lens. He said they already had one that wasnt moving. I was looking at a new camera at the time and Ryan proceeded to stand over me as if I was about to steal the piece of equipment. I handed. The equipment back to the attendant, Rudy, who had let me look at the camera.I then went to the customer service desk to inquire about a price list on Metal Photo Prints. The woman to whom I had inquired too a very long time to get the price list. While I waited I returned to the camera department to ask Ryan if I had offended him in some way. He stated he was sorry. I felt his apology was insincere and patronising. Not once did he look me in the eye. I returned to the customer counter to wait for the price list. Once the woman returned, I was the recipient of the Horn Photo Metal Print Disclaimer regarding imperfections in the processing of metal prints and if the prints have processing imperfections, they are the property of the purchaser and are not returnable.Over all, Horn Photo is unprofessional and rude at best and incapable of producing quality prints hence the need for a buyer beware disclaimer. Frankly, its surprising they have the business they do. Quality Customer service should be not be unreasonable in Fresno.

I had some very old photos to have refurbished as well as other photograpy items from my parents. These were items that needed expertise and one of a kind. I had the plesasure of working with Fran. I was very happy with all the work done and her help in decisions on these items. We purchased an item at the store and was not totally happy with it. Fran refunded my purchase, no questions asked. Laura has been helping me and she is very nice, knows what shes doing and provides me with valuable advice. I think were very lucky to have such a professional store in Fresno. My family and I were traveling through town to see the National Parks on a budget vacation and we accidently broke a lens on my camera. We went into Horn Photo the next day and everyone was eager to help. The employee who helped us, Aaron, was great to work with. He was quick to find and make recommendations towards replacement lenses. He even checked the back room and found the exact lens we needed for a very affordable price. Aaron was incredibly helpful and we were able to create many more memories than we could have otherwise thanks to his expertise and fantastic customer service.

Were glad that theyre still in business. Despite everybody having access to photo quality printers and editing software, its nice to have a company that handles some of those connected issues.

This place rocks. It was able to do what those chain photo places ie: Walmart/Walgreens could not. I needed several disc/DVDs burned and went to the places above Best buy sent me there and they delivered. Even got it the same day. They ROCK like MAJOR. Support them its worth it, besides looks like a mom and pops store something that need to stay in business and not to be ran out of business with these big corporations that cant produce what may be needed by the public.

The online ordering system is very user friendly! I downloaded the software within minutes and was able to upload about 10 photos in 5 minute. Im from out of state and I wasnt sure how long the printing processes would take, just within a couple hours my photos were ready for pick up. Very excited to share them with my family from Fresno!

I will be missing this place greatly. This place is reasons why moving is not always a plus. Up here in WA it seems a good shop is non existent. The guy up here apparently tries to sell cheap stuff to make more money. Horn Photo has very helpful staff and product availability. Spent a lot of money here and showed up often. Their Tamron clinic last year was very helpful during the day stuff. However do not buy into the 2 hour class that was offered unless you want Captain Photo Shop to talk instead the of the Olympic/Media professional photographer. Hopefully next class is better than that one. Also should note most of the staff also have their own side gigs they do photography for which is good since it means they have experience and useful advice.

This is my GOTO store for my photography needs. The staff is very knowledgeable and super helpful.I have been buying and shooting a variety of older medium format and 35 mm cameras that Im not familiar with. The staff at Horn puts in the correct battery for the camera, looks it over and tells me if its working or not. If its working they tell me HOW IT WORKS and then go over film selection and show me how to load the film for the first time.The have a large selection of the most popular photo gear. They also have cameras and lens available for rent.I drop my film off there and have they have it developed withing 24 hours. When its ready i get a text to my phone. And most importantly, they do a great job.

I always get what I want when I go in the store. They have great prices. Recommended!

Great customer service!Im horrible with names, so I dont remember who helped me. However, the gentleman was very courteous, and spent a decent amount of time working with me to find out what was wrong with the auto focus on my camera. (Turns out it was user malfunction, but he was very tactful.) He didnt make me feel rushed at all, and gave me some very useful information. I bought my camera at Horn Photo, and I use them for all my printing, as well.

I purchased my Nikon 1 at Horn photo in 2012. I love that I can always come in with questions on my device and have since purchased several lenses and other items for my camera there. The customer service is the best in the valley--anyone who tells you different has happed upon a moment of humanism that we have all experienced. Please just know that Horn has gone out of their way to make the customer experience the best in the business!! I also love the fact that they keep all items youve purchased in a file for you so that in the event you lose your receipt or need help with past purchases-they have it all on file for you!! Expensive but very good. When I have to get something right away Ill go there. There is a place I buy most of my gear online but...I like horn so not giving you the name. Might buy more at horn when I have to pay sales tax to online guys. Evil California.
