I took a bag of name brand clothes that were just taking up space in my closet. Most were way out of date but in good condition.To my surprise, they didn’t buy any of the items i was hoping to sell. However, it gave me a chance to browse the store.I can honestly say, this place stands above all the rest in the resale industry.The clothes were mostly flawless and in excellent condition.At Uptown Cheapskates, it’s never a hassle, the staff are friendly and helpful even when they are busy.This place makes it so much easier to find what I’m looking for and I don’t have to spend hours looking. It’s classy, trendy, affordable, stocked with a variety of unique designs and colors in every size.They also have some cool shades as well as a huge basket of costume jewelry near the check out which is just the right added touch to complete my ensemble.The place is well organized and clothing items are strategically organized so it’s easy for the shopper (me) to zoom into the section that best suits my desire.They have the most current trending fashion and coolest selection I’ve ever experienced at a resale shop. This is my new favorite!!

This store is an absolute DISASTER. As a plus sized woman you will never be able to find anything in your size because no one can organize this store to save their lives. I also purchased something at another Uptown Cheapskate an hour away and they told me they would not accept my return because I had purchased it at another store. This store and all uptown cheapskates are the most disfunctional thrift stores I have ever been to and a huge waste of time unless you want to spend hours trying to find your size.

I love this store!! Everything is affordable and cute. I found boots that would normally retail around $40 for only $14. I appreciate that they allow you to try on items unlike a lot of other stores.

Dropped off clothes and brand new Stuart WEITZMAN riding boots in the box(never used) that were $700!! Went to pick up my items and was told I had an $18 offer. They returned my hampers and boot box. When I get home I see they left the part that goes around your calf, but took the bottom half of the boot. … I never would’ve left such expensive boots for $18 store credit! This was extremely deceptive, to make me think they were giving back the boots by boxing the calf part and returning the box!! Called to get my things back (offered to buy them back) and was told it was in their back storage already and would not hit the sales floor for MONTHS! Very shady and deceptive. Will never sell here again or buy here and will make sure none of my friends/ family/ acquaintances do either. I’m reporting this store. You reap what you sow and when you steal like this you’re the lowest of the low. Would love for management or owner to reach out, because an apology seems empty.

This store is not well organized . Clothes are very messy, not categorized properly according to size, color, type. Makes it hard to find good pieces. Not a pleasant shopping experience.

I always find something I love when come here. It is organized much better than your typical thrift shop. I feel they give you a good value when you sell clothes and accept store credit for payment.

The policy where you cant leave the store once youve come in to sell is pretty intolerable. That immediately cancels other plans for the day depending on the speed of the staff vs the amount of people coming in to sell. You should be able to step out for a coffee and await a text or simply return within the given sale-time window. Luckily the staff is quite nice and the selection is great for their market audience.Updated since the reply.Im well aware of the policies. When I came to sell, I asked if I could step out to make a phone call and grab a coffee. I was told that if I exited the store at all, my things would be moved to drop-off instead of in-store and may take up to 48 hours. That wasnt an option for me, so I sat for 2 hours waiting instead. Im just letting people know what to expect.

I enjoy buying clothes here and would leave a higher rating if it were not for an employee there. This employee on multiple occasions has made me felt uncomfortable and made me not want to come back. During one occasion while I was in line to pay she started to talk bad about other customers and it made me very uncomfortable as this made me wonder if I was talked bad about later. Additionally, she has looked at me in store and I dont know if it is a coincidence of her looking in that direction but it has made me felt judged by her. I have tried to ignore these situations as I have been treated better by other employees and assisted a lot by them but I can no longer ignore this issue with this employee as it seems like she is always there when I go and it makes the whole shopping and selling process unenjoyable.

I have personally never been to the ftw location. I have been to the Arlington Highlands location, twice. I was about to head out to browse this store today but i decided to read the reviews first. Well, they dont make me very enthused about going anymore. I like the concept, but this is a business, not a high school venue! No one wants to be treated as if they are less than, and if they hadnt been made to feel that way, they wouldnt have shared it with the public. No, for that many people to have written such a similar experience, it is not them, its the store, and that is unacceptable, bad business! You are in te field of service to the customer, and you are running them off because they arent in your “clique?” Is that a store or a prom? A suggestion to the owner; upper management should be encouraging positive customer experience for each and every person who walks through that door. Its money people! Who are you to judge? Maybe you should have a contest to turn this around, or some sort of encouraging reward for positive reviews! ? If you dont change it, people wont bring you any clothes to sell. If you dont have merchandise, you wont have cashfow, if you dont have cashflow, you wont have a business, and if you dont have a business, you wont have a job! The people you are being rude to are signing your paycheck! Last I checked, your success in life = you status quo! If you dont have that, then popularity is the least of your worries anyway! So, “kill them with kindness,” and you will feel a whole lot better about yourself, and have that much deserved status quo! We are only human, and uniquely so, flaws come and go, so be careful how you judge, you could end up with the exact imperfection you are judging another for having! Excuse the rant! Thank you!

Love this place! I dont believe Ive ever left empty handed and when my teen daughter goes with me,wtend to get into trouble maxing out our budget. They have something for pretty much everyone teen age and up. Men and women clothing, shoes, accessories, though for children a couple of stores down the row is kid2kid which is another favorite.The employees are always friendly and helpful, they always prep a fitting room for me since i tend to over grab and try on everything, (never an issue, even when I have 50 items worth of go backs) I dont believe Ive ever had anyone be rude to me. They even have military discounts, not sure what more I could ask for.

I absolutely love this store.

If I could give 0 stars I would. I’ve sold clothes many times at their locations including this one. I haven’t ever done a drop off where you leave the clothes and come back to get them within 24/48 hours. I asked the employee a bunch of questions. For instance when do I Have to pick them up? How much time do I have from the time you guys email it’s finished? Will I be able to see what you are trying to purchase, if anything, and make a decision before cashing out?Her response to me was their policy has changed you actually have up to 3 days to get your clothes before they would donate as well as I would be able to choose whether or not to sell to them what they offered to take. I didn’t receive a receipt, but I wasn’t too concerned since I was waiting on an email anyways, also usually just has the consent that they are going through your items. Well, I wasn’t able to pick up before closing yesterday so I came today. They took 4 items. No big deal except I wanted to see if I was willing to give them up for what they were trying to give me for them.I walked in. No greeting no anything. No “be with you in a second” the cashier was with someone, but not the other two girls standing in front of me going through clothes. Not even to see what I was there for. They looked at me a few times, but did that awkward don’t make eye contact. Hm ok. Finally the cashier was finished and asked if I needed something. Yes I’m Here to pick up. I ask to see what they wanted to purchase and she said oh um.... and one of the girls previously paying me no mind jumped in and said since it was a drop off those items are already on the floor. WHAT? I mentioned to her I asked all of these questions yesterday BEFORE leaving my clothes and was given these answers etc... long story short she was rude and just did a shoulder shrug. I was only allowed to accept what they had done owell. She said there’s no way of knowing what items they had. I looked at my clothes and I knew what they took so I said well I will go grab those items and take them with me and just decline the offer. She said I wasn’t allowed to do that. They are already on the floor.I am not a “Karen” as people might think, but I have never had this experience at this store or any of theirs. Their employees giving false information or not understanding the policy and yet again giving false information and we just have to accept it? They just get to take my clothes. I know how it works and you only get 20% of items etc... but certain things I wasn’t going to give up for 3$ and that’s basically what I got for four of the bigger items I could’ve sold elsewhere.

I really like the store and I feel like the clothing and other items are well organized. Everything to me, seemed bargain priced, which is a big deal to someone on a budget! The staff was helpful on the days that I visited. My only little issue is that some of the accessories, like purses looked a little too used and worn. Some of the faux leather was peeling on a couple of purses. Other than that, I enjoyed shopping and will definitely return.

The customer service at this location was extremely friendly and very helpful they helped me with every thing that I could ask for and even helped me find a couple of things. I don’t think I could’ve asked for a better experience!

This location is less than impressive. The Colleyville and Watauga locations are much better. This location is overcrowded and many items are stained and have holes. Staff is less than friendly here, would not return. Go to Colleyville or Watauga, trust me.

Love this place, have shopped here a few times, plan to do so many more. They have fantastic bargains. Best to go in not looking for a specific item, but be open to several possibilities. I have had repeated success with handbags and wallets there. This Michael Kors Black Extra Large bag, in pristine condition both inside and out, $27.99!

I just visited this location with the intention of selling some of my daughters clothes.I was told that they are only offering store credit today because the lack of sales today has left them short of cash.I offered to pick up my cash tomorrow but they said they couldnt do that. I asked what about coming back tomorrow & the salesperson told me that it would depend upon the kind of sales they have tomorrow.I have sold clothes to Kid To Kid for 16 years ( including last week)& have always had very positive experiences. Since Uptown Cheapskate is owned by the same company ( & this particular store is just a few doors down from Kid To Kid) I had expected to have the same wonderful experience I have always had selling to Kid To Kid. And from reading websites from both stores very carefully regarding their policies and procedures for selling clothes to them & finding that they are pretty much identical, this also lead to my expectation that I would have a similarly good experience at the Fort Worth Uptown Cheapskate.After this frustrating experience, I went back & re-read both the general Uptown Cheapskate website re: Selling Procedures and the website specific to the Fort Worth location & NO WHERE does it state that on any given day a person selling clothes to them may not be given a choice between being paid with cash or with store credit or that such choice will be up to the particular store based upon their sales for that day.I could understand if this was a onetime occurrence of being shorthanded on cash this one time & not being able to give cash right now.But from what the salesperson told me, it is just luck of the draw each day as to whether a customer can be paid in cash for clothes that they sell.Since I do not want to come back each day to find out if that might be my lucky day, then I will not be doing business with this location ever again.And it truly is their loss because my daughter has a lot of super cute clothes . Every single time I have brought her clothes to a resale shop they practically salivate at the selection of clothes we are selling..

SOPHIA WAS SO SWEET WHEN I CHECKED OUT! YOU WILL NOT BE DISSAPOINTED, THEY HAVE AMAZING DEALS AND GREAT QUALITY CLOTHES.

The selection of clothes at this location is nice, but the selling process could use some work. I had a better experience selling clothes at the Arlington location, where they have been fast and generous. The Fort Worth store quoted me 45 minutes but after an hour and a half still hadn’t sorted through my clothes, so I had to drop them off. More people working to sort rather than just one would be helpful. I also think a sign or post online with the popular brands or wanted styles would be nice for people looking to sell.

The contents of the store are fine but the ethics and quality of selling to them is not. I have attempted to sell some nice items to them multiple times and have only had them purchase a couple times. I thought Id try again because my sisters and I had purged our closets and had 2 boxes stuffed with clothes from brand name stores in good condition. They didnt buy a thing. I had marked donate so everything was given to a charity-which I was happy to do. A couple weeks later I was in the store looking for clothes for my husband and happened to see one of my dresses that had supposedly been donated to a charity. I asked the manager about it and she said she wouldnt be able to tell me one way or another if it were my dress. Super disappointed with this company. Thinking back the only times they purchased anything was when I was going to pick up what they didnt buy. Every time I donate they have never purchased.

The absolute rudest sales people EVER! Apparently they dont care if customers come to shop or not. Someone needs to explain to them that they get paid because of people who purchase items from the store. I for one will never return. The owner needs to remember that word is mouth is the best/worst advertising there is, and its free. No way could the manager or owner not know the people are down right rude and totally ignore customers standing at the counter to check out.

I literally come at least 3-4 times a month. This is my favorite place to shop. Its affordable, has WONDERFUL savings deals, and friendly staff. The clothes have a great variety and are always in great condition. Their rewards program is worth joining and I love that they are apart of the FrogSaver community.

This place is great! Tops brands of clothing for 90% fraction of the cost from retail stores. They often how their blowout sales with 80% off tags, and these are the best. I find so much stuff, all guaranteed to be lower than $5. Been going to this place for about a year now, and it never disappoints, I always walk out with at least 1 thing. The best part is I can walk out having partaken in an unexpected shopping spree without feeling guilty or breaking the bank one bit! Their staff are WONDERFUL as well, very friendly and helpful. I highly recommend to everyone, especially students who are on a tight budget.

I was looking for thrift stores around Fort Worth, and I found this one. I was so happy with my experience, I found so many stylish cloths and sizes ranged. Workers are so nice and patient and have the best customer service I have experienced at any retail shop 😊 if you are wanting to go thrift shopping and have high expectations I diffidently recommend this place, I will be back soon 😊

Horrible Location! Donna was extremely rude to me when I tried to bring clothes to sell.

Today like every week I’ve visited the store that is located off of Hulen I was ready to pay and there was a woman working behind the counter checking clothes and sorting them. She saw us ready to check out and did not saying anything, and we waiting there until I had to ask her if there was someone who could help us. She just turned her head and told another person to help us, maybe because she heard us speaking in Spanish. When the cashier went to charge me I noticed that i was charged two times the same skirt, and in that moment when I told her she had charged me twice she told me it was, “no big deal, it happens sometimes”. Then my friend went to checkout, the lady told her I am not giving you the 15% extra because the clothes that you have selected already have a discounted prices, in a very rude way, whenever no one was even talking about discounts!

Ive shopped here many times in the past, the stuff was good and clean while being fair priced, buying is absolutely fine.However id stay away from selling, Im aware that any type of retailer that buys products from their guests is gonna pay out 20-30% (theyre a business after all) and thats fair since they were gonna be donated otherwise, but the associate told me that it would take 30-40 minutes to trade them in...Im sorry what ? The associate was nice and brought up that i could drop them off and come back, or browse around/wait in the store, but i cant fathom any reason whatsoever that any form of transaction would take more than a couple minutes regardless of how busy a store is. As someone whos worked in retail and customer service even if a POS system was down or there was some sort of logistical issue it should have been communicated so it was safe to assume that was not the case. Also find it kind of strange they turn down gently worn levis jeans while also selling wrangler jeans (walmart brand dad jeans) in the store, Its a bit misleading considering the fact that they advertise the desire for modern and stylish trade-ins.There needs to be further training or some sort of more efficient process if theyre going to readily advertise the fact that they purchase clothing, I knew my time was worth more than the absurdly long wait time and I think a lot of people would agree and take their things elsewhere, reading these other reviews i can see im not alone with my opinion/criticism.

This place is a joke to sell items to. The girl with the pink hair didn’t even go through my items. I watched her dumped them out and grabbing a handful at a time still folded and throwing them back in the basket. Then I watched her drop and item on the floor not picking it back up. Not to mention she told me an hour wait but I actually waited for almost 2 hours! All to just give me $8! The worst place to take your items you might as well donate them else where.

While I love shopping here because of the good deals, the selling process could use some work. At all other Uptown’s I’ve been to you have the option for store credit or cash whereas this one forces you to take some of the sell as store credit. The selling process has taken at least 2 hours both times I’ve been and the employees are a bit rude/stand off-ish. I think this could be changed with two people sorting clothes and a bit friendlier attitude. Also, what “charity” do my clothes get donated to? None of the employees knew and it wasn’t posted anywhere. I prefer to donate clothes to Goodwill where I know the money is going to helping others and wouldn’t mind if this does the same... but I have a gut feeling some of my “donated” clothes end up on the racks.

The associate that appeared to be in charge was incredibly rude. The whole attitude of the place was as if you were in some fancy boutique..... Its a thrift store. There was items on the sales floor, with price tags that werent for sale?!?! There were several items that seemed overpriced. For example, a simple tank originally from Target was priced at $17!

Resell your items at Plato’s or online on PoshMark, or FB- you’ll receive more in the long run. They also have a ridiculous policy about leaving the store vs waiting inside to collect. I lost very expensive boots because I had to leave the store to complete other errands and they offered me less than $5 for $150 boots that had been worn once. Cheapskates, eh?

Mixed feeling about this business. They do carry decent items, but lacking in professionalism and customer service. Most of the workers are nice, but some are very uninterested and look miserable. Also would not recommend selling items here unless you really need $10.

Store has pretty great items, but after leaving a two star review and deciding to give the store another chance and selling to them, because who doesn’t give second chances? The (I suppose) assistant manager followed me outside and asked for it to be taken down because “it looks bad on me for coming back after a bad review.” After working in retail for several years I know for a fact that is not how you treat a customer. Ever. This experience was great, until she decided to be rude and disrespectful, as I was 100% going to change my review after leaving. When I was confronted I was very polite and said I would change it until she mentioned that it made ME look bad. She couldn’t have just asked what happened? I won’t ever be back at this location.

Swear everything they sell has a hole or is stained...pretty upset because I bought cardigan but didn’t realize it had a big hole under the sleeve until the day I was going to wear it 🙃 while shopping I’d look at shirts I thought were cute and when I’d pull it out to look at it better it was either stained or had a hole somewhere.👎🏽

I wouldve been okay with the fact that they didnt want to buy my clothes BUT I was not okay with the way they handed back my items. I washed and folded everything neatly but when I picked up the clothes, they were a disaster all piled up in a ball. SO RUDE!!! Not only will I not sell but I will definitely not buy and make sure all my 400 plus friends on Facebook know about your store.

I have sold and bought from this location several times and it was usually a good experience. However, the last time I visited was not. I told the associate that I would like to buy the tank top that was on one of the mannequins. She removed the top looked at me and preceded to ask if I would like to try it on. I didnt think anything of it and declined. But then, she reads the tag and tells me that it is a size small and asks if Im sure that I dont want to try it on. At this point I realized what she was insinuating and felt a little embarrassed. However, I declined again. But to make matters worse she holds the top up kind of stretching it out and says oh its one of those oversized stretchy tops, itll fit. I was in shock. I could not believe that not only did she tell me I should try it on multiple times BUT LITERALLY SAYS IT WILL ONLY FIT BECAUSE IT IS OVERSIZED. She was completely out of line and unbelievably rude to even suggest to me that I was too big for a small. I dont think I will be coming back to this location anymore, because I am literally scared I will be judged for the way I look. (BTW I wear the tank top all the time and its actually baggy so 😉)

I saw what they are looking to buy, but then don’t buy things in that list they put out, haha.I also don’t know why they buy jeans in the summer (they told me they don’t sell them too well in the summer) yet take them anyways and give me store credit? I’m going to sell at Plato’s from now on. I thought this place would be ok, but nah. I got $60 at Plato’s for some of my stuff, and I got $20 here...it’s a joke. I waited 40 min, and the employee was texting on her phone when I finally got up and checked on my clothes...

Ive been to a few resale stores like Platos. Uptown Cheapskate has the best selection, better prices, and by far the best customer service out of all of them.

I was not greeted and I feel like I was ripped off. I was offered only $18 for 3 decent pairs of shoes and a brand new denim vest which had $24.99 on the tag. I dont even think they looked at all of my stuff, everything was folded up and in the order I had placed them in. I wasted a lot of time going through my closet picking out stuff to sell when they only took 4 things. Now I have to bring home a basket and large duffle bag full of clothes and shoes and hang them all back up! Plus none of the workers offered to help me bring in my items or help me as I was leaving the store with them. I had my 7 month old in the stroller and had to carry my basket on top of the umbrella part of the stroller with my duffle bag on top of my basket...holding onto my basket with one hand while pushing the stroller with the other trying to get in and out of the door was a huge struggle for me! I am very upset and will not ever sell here again!
