I do not recommend this place to anyone! And apparently the 3rd time is NOT the charm. I took my truck there with a transmission that wouldnt go into gear and got a my truck back with a transmission that leaked. I ended up taking it back 3 times and and $2800 dollars later my truck still leaks! And I had to call the police just to get my truck back because Luke went psycho and got in my face and said that all us Mexicans just want something for free! Well Luke no we dont we just want the job done right ! If you lack the knowledge to work on an Allison transmission then you should say so! Your a trash mechanic!

I love to take care of mom and pop shops over franchises so I took my 2009 Ram 1500 4x4 to Rainwater Transmission for a transmission rebuild. Totally love these guys! They have lots of experience, they explained everything to me and the turn around was crazy fast. And they dont just do transmissions its a One stop shop. I definitely recommend them. I know nothing about auto repairs. An honest hardworking mechanic was at the top of my list! Recently my car started screeching at me when I started it. Took it to Rainwater on recommendation of a client, where Luke diagnosed a few burnt up belts. Not a big bill. What was more important was the education I received to keep my car (dodge charger) safe and healthy. These guys did not talk down to me or try to gouge me on prices. You get a guarantee on the work and up front pricing. What more could you ask for!

I felt compelled to write a review.Rainwaters Transmission and Automotive Repair deserves an A+ for their service, and customer care.I took my diesel to them as the transmission was slipping. They diagnosed it and found it needed a full rebuild.I did have it diagnosed by a Ford dealer and they told me the same thing. He gave me a very fair price 1/2 what Ford quoted and finished the job by the scheduled date. The transmission now has 10,000 miles on it since it was rebuilt and is working great. So refreshing to find a company that provides quality, and friendly service. Theyve earned my business.

I would give a lower review if possible! These guys are an ABSOLUTE joke!! Supposedly put a rebuilt engine ($3600) in my parents Infiniti G35 and it has given them overheating problems ever since. Took it back a few times to try and figure it out. This last time they supposedly replaced the thermostat and water pump (supposedly $1400) and then threatened to take seizure of the car cause no one was picking it up. My dad goes to pay and wouldnt you know the CAR STILL WAS OVERHEATING before they left the shop! Guy apologized and said they would figure it out, to give them a few days...... well today they call and say its a bad head gasket on the rebuilt motor THEY installed and since its past their warranty period it would cost $4200 to fix. They car has barely been driven since its been rebuilt cause of the overheating prob. Anthony ACTS like he is doing you a favor but is a con. Dont waste your time and definitely dont waste your money dealing with these guys.

Two weeks ago I took my 07 Chevrolet pickup to Rainwater transmission to repair my transmission. Luke to excellent care of me and I was very please with the price and service. Cant catch a break. Wouldnt you know, two days ago my wifes 06 Chev. Tahoe totally stopped moving in the middle of I.H. 30. She was able to coast it off to the shoulder and called me. I didnt know what the problem was so I call Luke. Within 45 minutes he had my wife and her Tahoe picked up and brought to his shop. Turned out the converter stopped working. Luke not only repaired the transmission but, gave me a customer loyalty discount along with my Veteran discount. Now all is well with out vehicles. THANKS LUKE, you guys are great

Satisfied customer. I had a heat shield start rattling and making loud noises. Since I learned it was not covered under my extended warrant I wanted to avoid going to the dealership. Not knowing where to go I gave this place a try. The gentleman on duty was able to get the existing heat shield fixed quickly and inexpensively. I am quite sure I saved hundreds of dollars over what the dealership would most likely have done - replace rather than repair the heat shield.

Luke was very nice, but the shop was full the day I needed him to tow me. He was able to park me across the street until he could get to my car. I had a major problem with all my trans flued leaking out, but it did not burn up the transmission. He was able to repair it that afternoon and get me back on the road. But I had to pay him cash because he did not take checks and I did not have enough room on my credit card. He did give me a guarantee.

Went for 2nd opinion somewhere else glad I did. I think nearly every good review here is FAKE. Told me I needed a torque converter and possibly transmission rebuild. Said my car was not going to make it for very long (scare tactics). Cost $1300-$1900Went to another transmission place for 2nd opinion. They found REAL problem with a plugged valve issue. Solved in less than an hour. Cost $90.Beware of this place.I was recommended to this place by trusted mechanic friends. After reading reviews I gave them a try.I doubt rainwater even looked at transmission. Otherwise they would have figured out there was no problem there.Did you just assume my Gender? How dare you judge me by my GENDER.

I was there for a very weird situation. I explained to Luke Rainwater that he would need me to show him how I start my car. He said he didnt need any help. He called me 4 hours later stating he couldnt start my car. Of course I was upset. I ex0lained to him that I tried to show him how and he refused. Now I had to walk him through the process. He cursed at me threatened me. He never once apologized for his behavior. He was rude and unprofessional.

SO RUDE TOLD ME THEY WOULD NOT ACCEPT MY CREDIT CARD AS IF I HAVE STOLEN CREDIT CARDS!!! AFTER TELLING ME THEY WOULD. I TRAVEL FOR WORK. THEN SAID WELL YOU KEEP CALLING ME FROM DIFFERENT PHONE NUMBERS! SO MY DAUGHTER HAD TO PICK UP MY VEHICLE, WHO LIVES IN CALIFORNIA AND IS HOUSE SITTING FOR ME ( ALSO HAS DIFFERENT AREA CODE ON HER PHONE NUMBER)! AS I STATED I TRAVEL FOR WORK AND HAVE A COMPANY WORK PHONE REALLY! WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE AND THEN TO BOOT SAID WORK WOULD COST $1200.00 THEN HIT ME FOR AN ADDITIONAL $570.00 TO GET MY TRUCK. I AM SO DISAPPOINTED SINCE THE REVIEWS WERE SO GREAT AND MY FAMILY FRIEND REFERRED ME TO THEM. WAIT UNTIL THEY HEAR WHAT HAS HAPPEN FROM THERE FAVORITE MECHANIC . VERY UPSET CUSTOMER. NOT HAPPY AT ALL, THIS IS BY FARE THE WORST EXPERIENCE I HAVE HAD WITH A MECHANIC SHOP EVER. RUN THE OTHER WAY DONT LEAVE YOU VEHICLE HERE OR YOU WILL BE VERY UPSET LIKE ME. STRANGE, REVIEWS ARE EITHER 1 OR 5 STARTS NOTHING IN BETWEEN, WHICH DO YOU THINK ARE REAL? YOU DECIDE...PS WENT TO PICK IT UP NOW MY POWER STEARING DOES NOT WORK! THIS IS BULL I JUST GOT THAT FIXED LAST YEAR NOTHING WAS WRONG WITH IT!!! I TOWED IT HOME TO GET IT FIXED BY SOMEONE ELSE.

The check engine light went on in my Jeep, and after taking it to Autozone to check the code, they told me it was a problem with the transmission. I called Rainwater because members of my family spoke highly of them. Definitely did not disappoint. They got me in the next day, and even though the it ended up not being the tranny, they explained what was wrong and told me where to go to have it fixed.

This place is horrible! We had a mechanic look at the repairs rainwater said they replaced because what they said they fixed didnt make sense. He told us it had not been replaced. We took it back to rainwater and asked about it, the owner told us to take it off and prove it. If court costs and the time it would take for court was worth more than the money spent on the repairs we would sue them. Do not use this repair shop! They arent worth the one star I had to publish.

I didnt want to judge a book by its cover but after closely looking at the condition of the office and the garage itself I should have left but I still went through with the quote.I told them I thought it was a wheel bearing and yet the guy tried to sell me on how much experience he has but after he came back with a $1500 quote for rear tranny repair and telling me how dangerous it will be when it locks up on me I took it to AAMCO. they found a leak in the rear and once opened up it was fine just needed a gasket. And they found out that it was a wheel bearing that was bad.Pass this place up and go straight to a professional well kept shop at right across the street!

AVOID THIS SHOP!Update 7/10: Car ran poorly upon pickup. Car uses a gallon of coolant per day, as it is leaking from the cylinder head to thermostat hose. Variable valve timing solenoid for the exhaust cam is bad and causes the car to immediately enter limp mode upon startup. Shop used old spark plugs when week old spark plugs were available. Stop damaged brand new coil. Shop left off or broke various trim pieces and failed to secure the underside splash shield. Luke Rainwater read this review and called and left an angry voicemail and then cussed me out and hung up when I returned the call. Would not listen to any of the number of things that they did wrong and/broke. Told me that I could not have done the work myself (though they didnt even know that injectors need to be coded for direct injected cars) . I called back and he threatened to call police. He then called me back 5 minutes later and threatened to void my warranty if I didnt retract this review. I told him they will never touch my car again and he repeated his statement and hung up. I intend to make sure that everyone is aware of the poor worksmanship and poor behavior of this place.Original review: Would definitely recommend going somewhere else if you dont have a month to spare while waiting. Dont expect phone calls to ever be returned and dont expect anything to happen on time. I have had my car in twice now there first time I was told that it definitely be done on Friday, and it was not. This time I was told that it would be done on Friday, and it was not. I was then told that it would definitely be done Monday. Well be open and well have it finished., and the shop was not in fact open because it was the day before July 4th. It is now 5 days past the time it was first promised and I cant even get a call answered. Things happen, but making false promises and ignoring people isnt the way to handle it.Update 7/7: Received car finally and its a mess inside and out. There is damaged wire loom everywhere, cowling wasnt installed properly, battery positive jump point cover is missing, improperly routed wires, ripped ignition coil boots, and two scratched (freshly painted) grilles. Its also got a terrible misfire on all cylinders every time under heavy throttle. Will be coding the injectors and replacing the damaged ignition coils myself and will never return.
