Yum! The made to order food was fresh and delicious. The grocery store had a variety of items from mustard, noodles, sauces, beer, wine, candy, etc.. The meat counter was full of delectable choices of sausages, lunchmeats, cheeses being serviced by a polite and efficient staff. Pull a number ticket once youve made up your mind what youd like from the meat, deli meats, bakery. We each had a different dessert which all were very good. Currently, indoor eating is not an option. Parking was easy enough however gets full and is busy.

Came here to get the Deutscher sub. Was not disappointed! Great authentic, hole in the wall German grocery and deli. German beers, wines, dry goods, candies. Excellent deli counter with all the German meats you can dream of! $8 with tax for a sandwich isnt bad at all! Please support these local and independent establishments or else they will be gone forever!

This place is always awesome for our German fix. Whether its German food, deli items, chocolate, bread, beer, toiletries, clothing, beer steins or knick knacks, theres something for everyone. We come here often enough to have sandwich cards for stamping and buy other essentials as well, if you can call beer, cold cuts and chocolate necessities. We would go broke if we came here as much as we liked. 🍻🍫🥪🇩🇪💳💸

Small shop but has an amazing selection of meats, chocolates, alcohol, and various other imported goodies. The kitchen closes a little early, so make sure to stop by on your lunch break. I have never had a bad experience ordering food to-go from here. Staff is very friendly and knowledgeable about their products.

Really like this place. Im going to have to find reasons to be in the area at lunchtime so I can explore the menu more. I had the weisswurst and nuernberger sausages. Liked the weisswurst better but both were good. They have 18 different sausages to choose from! As well as sandwiches and desserts.

Quaint German Delicatessen with a wide variety of German products. I took my mom who was like a kid in a candy store. This place is cramped and it was very popular on a Saturday. Bring your patience for the deli counter as the line gets long. Apparently the tickets are for all the counters - the deli, the cheese and the dessert counters. The staff is quick and helpful. They also have a selection of wines and beer. We will be going back as my mother will need her German food on the regular. :-) I enjoyed it as it brought back memories of my childhood with my German family and traveling to Deutschland.

I love this place. The food and pastries are outstanding and the large beer selection is an added bonus. In the picture I added, those particular beers are from a brewery in Germany where everything has a smoked pork flavor, an interesting change. I enjoy it, and specifically recommend the Marzen. We picked up breakfast to go, as well as some snacks, deli meat, and a strudel. Everything was really good. The roesti (potato, onion, bacon&ham) was fantastic. The strudel was pricey considering the size but overall we were happy with the purchases and like supporting local business!

Great place to find German imported foods. They have beer, wine, etc. They also have a great deli. I go there to buy bratwurst and sauerkraut, but they have a lot of sausages, salads, cheeses, etc. They dont have a super inviting storefront, but its a nice store with friendly staff.

An interesting selection of German products. The best variety of DArbo jams/fruit spreads.Masks not required if vaccinated. Helpful staff. Counter wiped between each customer. Complementary hand sanitizer at the checkout counter.

Great hot sandwiches. Have gone there twice, each time for two sandwiches. After getting sandwiches a second time, it was worthy of a review. It helps that they offer a rewards program (a punch out card where 10 sandwiches purchased gets you an 11th for free). Only six more to go! If youre not familiar with the words or types of ingredients, just ask for a recommendation. The person answering the phone was helpful.

I wish this was close enough to go every day, but anytime were in VA we stop in. Loaded up on German wurst, beer, baked goods, curry catsup, and more.

This was our first visit to this German grocery store and deli. It offers a great selection of candies, meats, snacks, alcohol, and various other items. We ordered a couple of sandwiches, a Tyrolean and a Bratwurst, from the deli; both were fabulous. Prices are reasonable for the unique selection of goods available. We plan to return soon.

I went on a Saturday and they were struggling. Supply chain be damned, but half the shelves were bare and the credit card reader was down. Throughout those hurdles, the staff were super. They turned a meh into a yeah.

It is a great European deli carrying many European food items you cant find elsewhere. The fresh cut deli meats & cheeses are a must. Yes, it is pricey but it is worth it.

We visited for the first time after Christmas. It was busy, too many people in the store. Good for business but it was impossible to social distance. The shelves were 80% empty, I guess cleaned out from Christmas so I couldnt find anything I needed. Deli was busy, seems popular. Shelves/shopping areas were awkward/cramped/narrow. I will definitely go back but during safer times. Even before Covid, I was never one for cramped stores where you cant comfortably shop.

Love this place...botnall sausages are made in house but then again they source so High quality meats...think boars heads less drunk more archived and classier older brother...get there early for the pretzels and delicious German dark bread...great German wines (reislings and Gewurztraminer) and German beers you wont find anywhere else.

This place has a bunch of great selections to pick and choose from. The spice selection is plentiful and numerous and one of the spices they had was a great replacement for a brand my mom and I have been scouring the web for for years. Just make sure to check the expiration dates as some of them are pretty close to expiring.Prices are also a little high, but thats to be expected when dealing with imported products, especially ones from Germany.Overall Im highly satisfied with their selection of traditional meats and spices from German cuisine and its definitely worth the 40 mile round trip to restock my supply of ingredients!

Quite unpleasant personnel at the registry. No greetings, no eye contacts, sad faces like youre their foe or something. Al least nod with your head or something, dude. The passages bewteen the shelves are way to narrow. More hygiene would be nice, especially during this times. Way too pricy.

Literally my favorite place in Alexandria. I try to come at least every two weeks for their awesome sandwiches.

Disappointed, I grew up eating desserts from German bakeries and was disappointed to try the cakes. They were dry and could be much better, not sure if they bake these here or get them from a third party vendor but they can do better for the price.

LOve this small place. I am from colombia and love coming here to try nice hams and cheese. Costumer service is excellent. Lots of imported beer too.

Order payment with a credit card was a long, unpleasant experience (lots of background noise made it hard to understand the cashier), while the phone wasnt answered when I arrived for curbside pick up. Needed to stand in line in a not overly large space to get my order. Will have to purchase elsewhere where the process is easier.

What a special place! Its in a 1970s retro looking building on the side of a road, which doesnt do it any justice, in fact I would say its an injustice. That as an aside, the place has fresh meats, pastries and a huge assortment of German and Scandinavian foods and drinks. Its definitely a treat that I wish I knew about before.

Good German store with all of the necessities. The downside is the Asian gentleman with the glasses. I have been in there on several occasions and he always gives me nothing but attitude. If it were not for him this place would be 5 stars all day long!

A great store to visit, especially before holidays. I was impressed by the variety of cold cut meats, offered in two medleys: American and German. I am vegetarian, but my husband loved the sausages, ham, salami, and other specials. Cheese is soft and fresh and smells great. I also got wine, chocolate, salmon pate, cakes, bread, caviar, butter, gem, pudding, etc. Going to the German Gourmet store may leave your pocket empty, but it is obviously cheaper than going to Germany

Excellent selection and wonderful customer service! The black forest hot sandwich was delicious! Add in a side of cucumber salad and beet salad and you have the perfect meal!

Although I have never been to Germany this place made me feel like I took a trip there. Such an authentic feel with a wide variety of goods. Everything from chocolates, beer, baked goods, meats and more. You can aslo dine in cant wait to visit again.

Wonderful little shop that carries hard to find German and Swiss items, a variety of beer and wine and fun German themed gifts. The best part though is their delicious home baked goods and deli. They have THE BEST Bavarian potato salad and excellent sausages.

Being pretty much the only game in town, this store stocks a nice selection of German beer, chocolates, meats, candies and other sundries. Prices are on the premium side but in some cases it is the only place in the D.C. Metro area that carries the item you are looking for. You can find some of the beer at a better price at one of the local beer & wine chains, but I dont mind paying a few cents more to support a local small business in lieu of a large chain

Lots of things from Germany: food and beer of all kinds. Pretty expensive, but lots of choices. Good cold cuts and cheeses. Staff is helpful and friendly. Parking right outside makes it very convenient. If you are missing your time in Germany, this is the place for you.

The eating area is very small and will not accommodate more than 20.The food offerings are not extensive but they are delicious. Ive passed by this place many times and decided to stop today. For those that are familiar with the Italian store, this is equally as great but focused on German stuff. I ate a delicious weisswurst & pastry. Will definitely be back.

My go to for German food shopping. Their homemade brats are some of my favorites ever, and they have many other styles if you want. All your traditional German meats are here, and usually they have more than one variety (we picked up three kinds of Liverwurst for a recent Oktoberfest breakfast). Rolls, cheeses, condiments, candies, beers, its all here. Service is efficient and friendly. You can also get sandwiches or sides ready to eat from the deli and have it on the spot in the small seating area.

A special treat to visit this wonderful taste of Germany. Very helpful staff. All manner of sausages, cheeses, and specialty baked goods, as well as German condiments and seasonings. Lots of imported chocolates, candies, beers, and fine German wines from the Rhine and Mosel. Cant recommend them more highly. Great visit every time.

Absolutely loved this place. Decided to take a road trip to visit this store and I was very pleased with it. I found some great items. Northeast Tennessee doesnt have any stores like this. I will be back and possibly order online also.

Authentic German food! Best brats around! Various lunch platters to choose from. Imported German foods, candy, beer, and wine which justifies the prices. Staff speaks German and is incredibly friendly. If you were stationed overseas or otherwise miss a taste of Germany this is the place to visit.

Very friendly and helpful service, assortment of goods from different German speaking countries. My main attraction is the assortment of sausages made in-house. I especially liked an Austro-Hungarian sausage called a debreziner (?), like a tastier hot dog.

Awesome find! We had some sandwiches while there and took home some awesome sausage to grill. The beer selection is on point and there is an extensive selection of German candies and food. Try the homemade bratwurst!

German gourmet is your one stop shop for an amazing German cuisine. They are a nice little shop with a great assortment of wine and beer. Their deli is delicious, and the staff will even prepare meals which you can eat in their dining area. The bakery is heaven, I can not get enough of the Portuguese rolls (You have to get the Portuguese rolls). They also sell nifty novelty items like the beer steins. Although this place may be a little pricey, it is 200% worth it. You can tell the staff all take pride in their work.

I love this place, its as german as german could get in the states they even have my favorite chips... driving an hour and a half for some bratwurst...TOTALLY WORTH IT!!!

So many good things in here; the cold cuts, the sausages and the cakes.. highly recommend getting the wieners (steam them dont boil; and serve with just some mustard, crispy onions or kraut. The Napoleons cake... that cake is just a rich piece of wonder with the sweetness of the vanilla custard cream and the crispness of the pastry. Half the size does suffice to knock you into a glycemic stupor though but its oh so enjoyable
