I took my MGB to them for a quick tune up and an inspection, and they found all sorts of other things in poor condition and in need of improvement. Their mechanics are definitely sharp in that regard. We worked out that they would upgrade the front suspension and when they were done I couldnt believe how well it drove. It was like a new car! They also have some great accessories, one of the best being the motor robe, which I got my mother for Christmas. It was amazing quality. She loved it!

ABSOLUTELY LOOOOOVED MY EXPERIENCE! They rebuilt my entire TR6 engine and the results were worth the cost. It was very impressive. Don’t let the gloomy front office dissuade you, these guys know what they’re doing

I took my 1965 TR4A to them because my differential mounts were in poor condition. Not only did they repair and reinforce the mounting points, but they also replaced the worn out gears in the gearbox and installed new carpet in the interior. It looks beautiful and drives a whole lot better. I was very pleased with their work.

Rollo and team were very helpful in my purchase of a Lotus Esprit in the Arlington area. They looked over the car and shared a lot of very helpful information and quotes on items that needed immediate attention and things to address further down the road. I am glad that I got in contact with them and hope to do business with them in the future. Thank you!

If you have an old British car - or any antique car really - these guys should be the ones to take it on! Theyre the best in the area, by faaaaaaar. With such diverse backgrounds, the staffs combined expertise is a treasure trove of information and affection for cars like yours. From quick tune ups to full restorations, these guys can do anything! (Just if you want a full restoration, dont be a fool and go in there thinking itll be done in a month :P some things can be super time consuming, like body work and paint, so have patience). Not only that but they have a HUGE supply of parts - I cannot even begin to tell you how many times that has saved me! Some really stand up people here!

In August 2017 I was traveling in my Spitfire in the DC area when the car developed a severe vibration in the clutch pedal. British Standard Motors agreed to work on the car quickly since I was from out of town. They did a lot of work on the car, but did not fix it and in fact created several new problems including body damage which they refused to fix. They rebuilt the clutch throwout mechanism to fix the vibration issue and also replaced the clutch. They machined the flywheel, but in doing so machined runout into the flywheel, which then caused a new engine vibration. The vibration was bad enough that it was uncomfortable to hold onto the steering wheel. They also replaced the ring gear which I did not ask for. They did not fix the original vibration issue, which was caused by a broken throwout support guide. When I got the car back I had to double pump the clutch to get it to disengage. It turns out they put the slave back in with the bleed nipple on the side such that they could not bleed the clutch fully. They replaced the 3/8-24 special bolts between the driveshaft and transmission with 5/16-24 bolts and then did not tighten them. They took the bonnet off and damaged it in the process. I filed a claim with Hagerty insurance and they paid over $1000 for the bonnet repair. There were also various other issues too numerous to list here. The cost for all of this was $3974.27. Ive sent them emails and called and left messages for them, but they have not responded.I completed the repairs when I got home. Re-machining the flywheel fixed the engine vibration and replacing the throwout support guide fixed the clutch vibration issue. Rotating the slave cylinder 90 degrees fixed the clutch double pumping issue. This was all simple stuff that a professional shop should have fixed right the first time.

Very honest and up front. But beware if a part takes too long to show up... they will charge you rent to the tune of $35.00 per day
