They had a great selection of flavors and will make any of them into milkshakes. I had Almond Joy and it was the bomb. Been craving it ever since. My son got a smoothie and it wasnt as sweet as he preferred however, it was made with real fruit and was very healthy and fresh.

For a small shop their ice cream selections are impressive. You can sit inside or outside. The young employees are very pleasant and helpful. Its a neat little place. Give it a try. You wont be disappointed.

Great place to chill with your family. During lockdown - customers and staff were following social distancing rules. Good menu and nice seating arrangement. Ample parking space. They have a couple of items on the menu for pets too

Great little ice cream shop with some unique flavors like Ellies moo chip (blackberry and white chip) as well as some very inventive creations like unicorn shakes.Unsure what to try? Go with the 5 scoop flight of 5 flavors and try 5 different flavors!Outside are tables to sit at along with Cornhole and a carpet ball table.

Was not very impressed. The aesthetic of the shop is cute but ice cream is overpriced. The staff working was all young high school and college kids who did not have any sort of system to support a rush/busy time. My son has a peanut allergy and when we told the young girl scooping she seemed confused and asked if she should wash the ice cream scoop. Wondering how well management actually trains their staff to handle health and allergy situations.

Great local ice cream shop. Has some outdoor seating and games for families to play (cornhole, carpet ball, jenga). They have some organic options. And everything from cones to sundaes to milkshakes and smoothies. Did not look like there were any soft serve options but the ice cream was delicious.

Amazing flavors! Local fresh icecream. Made right in the Berkshires. I order the unicorn with blueberry honey lavender ice cream my son order the chocolate Madness with chocolate stout ice cream... reasonably priced if you compare it to places like Sugar Factory! But 100 better ;)

Like Ive seen others, its a bit overpriced for what you get. I believe it was $19 for my boyfriends small milkshake and my funshake. There also isnt a way to get funshakes for travel, so we had to sit outside and eat them. They dont clean the tables, almost all of them had ice cream all over. They keep the exit door locked from the inside, so you have to walk through the store, past the long line, to return the cup. Not terrible ice cream, but not my personal favorite, especially for the price and size.

I just wanted to thank the staff at this place for going above and beyond for the community. My coworker was looking forward to some of their delicious ice cream and was bummed when she found out they were closed. A staff member from The Scoop caught wind of this, opened the store, and brought all of us free ice cream and coupons to the pharmacy where we work! Thank you Scoop workers for making our day during the pandemic!

My family and I love this place.

My husband & I had been by this place a few times, thinking, How good can a strip mall ice cream place be? But a friend insisted my husband at least try it (he is known for being an ice cream fanatic). We are so glad we did! The Scoop is a lovely cafe-style ice cream shop with lots of indoors seating at little tables, plus a couple stuffed chairs in a corner by an imitation fireplace (cozy!). There is great outdoor seating, too, in season. We sat out at one of the picnic tables and played one of the yard games provided (cornhole?). The ice cream flavors ranged from typically popular to unique, and we ate the Maple Almond Brittle, which was to die for!! Oh, theres also fun music and a lovely staff. Its now our new favorite place to go for a treat--and my husband was thrilled that its open all year! Seriously, if you love ice cream, go.

The person who severed me needs how to make a hot fudge sundae maybe had a tablespoon of fudge in a medium

An oasis of calm and joyful ice cream

Our kids love this boutique ice cream parlor for the INSANE creations. Especially the incredibly fancy shakes. They of course have all the normal stuff you would expect from an ice cream shop, but the extra touches like the fancy shakes and sundaes and the little outdoor seating area with games and tables put them a step above most. The pricing is a little higher than more basic shops, but that is to be expected for the quality and extras.

Cute little ice cream shop with decent selection of flavors. Happened to be out in the area, so wanted to give it a try. Staff were friendly and helpful. Black raspberry chip was delicious. Bit pricey, but most novelty ice cream shops are. I would return if in the area again.

I agree with all the reviews about The Scoop being very expensive and very small portions. I have been once and I will never come back. I am sure that there are people willing to support this business but I wont be one of them.Suggestion: Try Dairy Cream in Windsor Locks by the airport - great ice cream, great prices and ample portions!!

Unique and tastey

The only reason I docked a star is because the prices seem a little on the high side to me, but my lady loves this place. The ice cream is very good, there are tons of combinations to try, and they have absolutely wild specialty shakes, like the one pictured. Honestly, I dont even know what Im looking at there-- rainbow chocolate? Hard candy pearls? Unicorn-flavored cotton candy? Im more like a plain vanilla guy when it comes to ice cream, but if youre into exotic creamery sweets, you will love this shop.

Love the outdoor environment and games. Makes it more then just ice cream really gives it some family time. They have a unique selection that is no where else! As a small buissness owner myself i love to suport local.

Went here for the first time after a long day out in the sun. The staff was friendly and I ordered a chocolate brownie Sunday. It was delicious. My fiancee ordered a milk and cookies funshake and what they brought out rivaled ornate buildings. It had Oreos and cookies on the outside and some sort of twix looking things pointing out of the top. It was phenomenal. Will be going back here soon!

This ice cream shop is a good example of the hidden eateries that are a must visit. Right in the center of Ellington, Ct. tucked away in a quiet corner of the small strip center that houses the post office. The ice cream is of a higher quality than the chains and is noticeable with the first bite. The lemon poppy is to die for. They also serve coffee etc. etc.This is by far the best ice cream shop in the surrounding towns. Weve tried them all.

This place was very nice I had a wonderful greeting as I walked into the store and quality service. The ice cream was good but not the best. My only concern was that the ice cream I had which was cookie dough wasnt really that flavor packed. Overall this place has 4 stars for quality service and good ice cream.👍👍

This place has a wide variety of flavors! I have to admit that my favorite is the Mexicali, a version of cinnamon ice cream that has been spiced up with just the right amount of heat. There are many other flavors (the non- spicy cinnamon, banana brownie, cookie dough, are a few of my other favorites). In fact, if you cant decide, I recommend the flight, a collection of five different flavors each topped with whipped cream and a cherry! The people there are very friendly as well and there is plenty of seating (both inside and outside).

We came at 8pm on a Friday. Its a small space, but beautifully decorated and the staff was very friendly and helpful. I got a fun shake, it was pretty and delicious! Well worth a trip if you are an ice cream fan.

I love coming here. Its fast service, the employees and kind, and tbe decorations are really nice. There are few places to sit inside but theres also seating outside for warmer weather. Their ice cream is delicious and they have new delicious flavors everytime i visit!

Yum! Didnt try one of the funshakes today, but the fact they have unicorn and other weird/awesome, over-the-top options gets an extra star in my eyes. Tastes like real ingredients.

I was disappointed...the people behind the counter were very nice, but they didn’t even have vanilla or mint chocolate chip ice cream. Since I brought my young daughter, we stayed and ordered for her, but I went without because there were no flavors that appealed to me.

Drove 20 minutes from Suffield with my wife to this little hotspot. Amazing icecream. Offers wild milkshake options. Outdoor ambiance is great. There was live music, solo guitarist was taking reccomendations. Great night. Will be going back :)

Ive been following The Scoop on Instagram for a while now and have been really looking forward to visiting since. I finally got the chance to drive out to try it but I have to say Im severely disappointed. My impression was that it would be this sort of destination spot that had extravagant and interesting sundaes and what not but everything was written out on a bunch of chalk boards and it didnt even seem like they had a the type of selection they advertised. So it was confusing and overwhelming to find one of the grand deserts that Id hoped for. On top if that the atmosphere was pretty unwelcoming too because the girl who worked there clearly didnt like her job. Didnt say hello or anything, and while I was browsing I felt so rushed to make a decision, I ended up settling on a very basic sundae. And it wasnt even very good! The consistency was bizarre, similar to that of froyo or like cookie dough, and the taste was off somehow. I dont know. I am just honestly very dissatisfied with my visit, and it certainly wasnt worth the price or the time wasted driving out of my way to get there.

Hidden Gem. Get off the beaten path and go out of your way for the huge variety of homemade flavors. They use milk from the farms around the area/town of Ellington. Had the lavendar blueberry. Next time gonna put it with lemon poppyseed. Dad had the mission fig. Gormet as it gets. Next level stuff.
