The representative at the counter was super helpful and provided all necessary information and explained contract. She also showed flexibility about the timing and if you are new to UHAUL, like me, you can ask all your questions.The only reason I didn’t have all 5 stars is because their local phone number gets connected to main UHAUL center and therefore it takes forever to talk to someone

I called in earlier that I’ll be picking up the Uhaul an hour after my reservation and they still canceled and gave my reservation to someone else. Very unhelpful and poor customer service from the location staff. This location also seemed low on staff. I would rather rent from Home Depot. I don’t know why I trusted uhaul, it screwed my moving plans. If they wanted to cancel my reservation, they should have at least called me first to check, they had my credit card details too. All this happened even after I called them and asked them and asked to hold my reservation. Location will never answer your phone and customer service is always 30 mins wait. Stay away

The staff and service here is always AAA+. Helpful and friendly. Busy at times, as you would expect. Use your brain and get there early in case there is a line.

Initial service was good and 15 truck served its purpose. However, after returning the truck cleaner and with more fuel than I recieved it, I was charged an extra $55 for additional fuel.On the email receipt I received the recorded fuel level was falsified. Very unprofessional. I was not compensated when reaching out to customer service. Will go out of my way to avoid using this location again.

Matt and Jackie are absolutely amazing! I rented a auto trailer/transport in the summer - that’s how memorable their service was. I had plans to pick up a 68’ Corvair. Both provided above an beyond customer service. Matt was very thorough in checking I had the best option, and Jackie was very knowledgeable in cars and provided suggest and expressed concerns as the Corvairs tend to sit quite low. In the end I was able to retrieve my new toy with out a scratch or hassle. They both displayed outstanding customer care! I will rent here again!

Had a problem with a bike rack they had installed some months ago. No objection that it wasnt their rack (it was their hitch). The guy worked on it outside in the cold and within a half hour, I was on my way. He could not have been nicer or more helpful.

The staff does a really good job. Clean restroom. Nice facility. I was kind of bummed about the storage units... The upper units are accessed by a portable staircase. They are just a more difficult to load your stuff into the unit.

Extremely slow to do anything. They take forever to answer the phone and put you on hold for 15 to 20 minutes. They never have enough staff members working to help customers. Last time I went i was waiting for 30 minutes before i could return a few items.

Best Best Best service Ive ever had anywhere! We went in with a wire missing for our brake light line, the manager helped us find the part, a video to watch how to repair it ourselves, and they even provided the tools to do it! Could have never met our deadline without her and her wonderful staff, they rock. What a terrific team!

My Ubox was shipped from California to this location.The day before shipping my Ubox was locked and secure. The facility manager said she was too busy to let me know my Ubox was damaged and the door was open while it was at their location. My box was there for a week and the staff failed to notify me there was damage and the locks were broken. The Ubox door was left open during that time and the employees called me to confirm pick up but never mentioned my box was broken into. When the movers brought my Ubox, they took pictures upon picking it up. I was devastated when it came to my new place with items missing, broken, and damaged because the staff negligence. Since the door was broken into and left open my things were exposed and it was prone to damage and theft. The Edison employees were rude, unprofessional, dishonest, and negligent. It was the worst moving experience of my life. Please be aware and never trust Uhaul not their employees to keep your items safe and secure.

Rude, and not helpful! I dont know why, but Friday NOVEMBER 13th, the guy in front over charged me and said I cant keep my UHUAL for 24Hours, even after I payed $250! $250, for 4hours. Im still doing the math to see how he got $250 for 4hour rental,

Took my NEW infiniti to this location for a hitch install. Back bumper was spick/span. No scratches when i dropped off the car. I did tell the front desk that it was a NEW car. Car was returned about an hour later with hitch installed and 2 scratches about - each 2 inches long. Obviously the tech had not been careful with the tools. Also, when I opened the trunk, the rubber edge on the trunk carpet had a deep cut - possibly form some sharp instrument. Even if they had a reason to open the trunk I think they should have been careful. Called u haul - went to a central location and they never succeeded in transferring me to the store. So, fellow consumers that was my experience!! Be forewarned.

Went here to return unused boxes and it was done w/o a problem. Also, I didnt know this but they offer installation of car bike racks. Thats a pretty cool option.

The service was great. They was very nice and never gave the expression like if you was unhappy. They treated as with kind and help us with all our needs. We rented a truck but when we receive it. It was to big. With no problem they kindly exchange it to the one we needed. Best experience and great price. Definitely recommend this place.

The worst customer service! I Made an appointment for hitches installation at 2:00PM. Was supposed to be ready two hours later. However, was not really until 9:30PM. What is the purpose of making an appointment?? If you need your car done at soon as possible don’t even bother with this place. Or make an appointment a day before you need your car, this way you avoid a lot of aggravation.

First time experience with U-Haul. The people working there made the experience smooth. All my questions were answered. I was guided from start to finish. I will definitely use them next time Im in need of their service.

The person at counter was AWSOME. She new right what I needed and made sure it worked for me before I left. Im sorry I forgot HER name but she is AWSOME SHE knows her job well. Will definitely go back to see her if I need anything else.

I like this store but a lot of other people do as well. The line can get long so prepare to spend some time there on line.

I can only share my experience with using the ubox service here but i would not recommend dealing with them and would recommend sending the box to your hiuse if you can. The workers there are very unfriendly and seem as though they do not want to work there. They never seem to have your box available when you request access and service is extremely slow. They also have a hard time communicating and matching anything that you might have requested online and/or on the phone.

Reserved a trailer for 7:30pm, called and asked if I could come earlier, they said sure. I get there, it turns out the person who currently has the trailer wont be returning it all weekend. I get it, things happen. But then I ask about the $50 reservation guarantee, the woman Katherine says Im not eligible. I ask why, she says I should have asked for it earlier...excuse me!?? I told her Im asking for it now. I did nothing wrong, and your company has a policy that it doesnt honor. I asked Katherine to speak to her supervisor who reluctantly complied, but with a bad attitude I might add. This location seems to not care about their customers whatsoever. Word of advice, read the fine print..Im sure had I not brought up the reservation guarantee, they would never have offered it. The supervisor eventually granted the guarantee, but they made me wait for it while they finished their side conversations. Terrible way to run a business.

Rented a truck and trailer to go across country, no issues picking up the truck but when I came back for my trailer the manager that was working at that time refused to give it to me first insisting I didnt pay for it then when she figured out that that was incorrect tried to give me the biggest piece of junk that she had on her lot. Saying my car weighed to much for the nicer trailer the car was clearly under the weight that trailer can hold. Even though that was the one that was on my paperwork even when I showed her multiple times that the trailer on my paperwork was the nicer trailer she insisted on trying to get me to take the heavier worn out trailer she even sat on it so I couldnt take it insisting that I would not leave with it. 35 minutes on the phone with customer service later I left with the trailer I paid for. Thanks for wasting my time just to find you you were wrong

A busy place on weekends, not offering one way rentals recently which was a bummer

They ran out of moving pads. I wasted an hour going to a nearby location to get them. Had to pay movers for an extra hour for what seems to be an inventory issue. I wish I could have that hour and my money back. Very disappointed with the service.

I used this U Haul center for a move from New Brunswick up to Jersey City with a 10 truck. Had no issues with the service, it was fast and effiicient. The truck was in decent shape. They were also quite accommodating in changing my reservation time with short notice.

The worst u haul there is no one knows nothing will never recommend this place you want good service go to the one in Linden

I FILED A CORPORATE COMPLAINT LAST SATURDAY AND NOW I HAVE TO WASRTE MY TIME WRITING THE CEO WHO IS HERE IN PHOENIX. I PLACED AN ORDER FOR U BOXES TO BE DELIVERED ON 9/5 3 WEEKS IN ADVANCE. ON 9/5 NO ONE SHOW, I CALL & TOLD THEY WILL BE THERE TODAY. 30 MINUTES LATER I GET A CALL SAYING THEY ARE COMING 9/6. i HAVE MOVERS COMING TO LOAD THESE THINGS ON 9/6. i HAD TO SCRAMBLE TO CHANGE THOSE RESERVATIONS AND CHANGE EVERY HOTEL RESERVATION I HAD FOR THE NEXT 3 WEEKS (FOR MORE $)ON MY TRIP. EVEN THOUGH I ALLOWED ENOUGH TIME. I HAD TO SKIP 2 DESTINATIONS TO MEET MY ARRIVAL TIME IN ARIZONA. THE DELIVERY PERSON BROUGHT 1 CONTAINER AT A TIME & WAS NASTY ABOUT IT. WE HAD WORDS AND HE STARTED IT. ONE CONTAINER WAS DIRTY, HAD REMNANTS OF FOOD & THE NAME AND ADDRESS OF THE PERSON WHO HAD IT PRIOR AND CUT THROUGH THE HASP FOR THE LOCK. I HAD NO WAY TO SECURE MY BELONGINGS DRIVING DOWN 95 & RT 1. THE PEOPLE ANSWERING THE PHONE KNOW NOTHING & DONT CARE. THE RECORDING STATES PLEASE ASK IF YOU WANT A TRANSCRIPT OF THE CALL & I ASKED EVERY TIME AND NEVER GOT ANY. SO TODAY I GET AN EMAIL FROM ERICA CONTIN TELLING ME I AM PASSED DUE. i REPLIED TO HER EMAIL & POSTED IT ON THEIR LOCAL fb PAGE AND AM INCLUDING IT ALONG WITH ALL EMAILS PHOTOS AND SCREEN SHOTS TO CORPORATE. DO NOT USE THIS BUSINESS.

This place is abysmal. From the location, to management, to the people that work here. They absolutely can not follow through with any promise or advertised business practice.I had U Boxes stored here and they claim to need 24 hour notice to have them down for you. They need MUCH more. I even gave them 48 hours once and they failed to have the boxes ready for my arrival at the agreed upon time. Not once did they deliver on this promise.They also moved my boxes to another location despite the fact that i had visited my boxes several times including a month or so prior to them being moved. They also didnt ask me if i was okay with this or inform me in any way shape or form.It was such a relief when i was finally done with this place and their horrid employees. I wouldnt hire a singke one of them to so much as wash dishes let alone do anything important. And it all stems from tgeir garbage mansgement and even worse district management.If youre stuck using uhaul, do everything in your power to use a different uhaul than this hole.

Waited in line for ten minutes to buy some packing material and wasnt even acknowledged by the employee, who was just watching the lady in front of me call someone on the phone to get info about their truck. Ended up leaving without buying anything because it was taking too long.

I rented a truck at 110 US HWY 1 Edison location, and I specifically told the U-Haul customer service agent that I would be dropping the truck off at 3322 Hundson Ave Union City location, he confidently told me that I could just return the truck any time whenever I’m done because truck rental drop-offs are 24/7 now. And when I tried to return my truck, the return location in Union City was locked, so I called U-Haul customer service and they told me this location does NOT have 24-hour drop off and it closes at 7pm. After that the guy said he didn’t know what to do and transferred me to someone else. After a 45-minute hold, a woman picked up the phone and again told us she didn’t know what to do, and she rudely hung up on us without any explanation nor willingness to help. So now I’m stuck with a truck that U-Haul told me to return whenever 24/7 and customer service doesn’t want/know how to help.Will never use U-Haul again and will always help anyone I know to avoid using their service. If U-Haul’s customer service stays like this, it will die. It would be a shame, but it’s also rightful.

How fitting that my first real negative review is from a company i expected more from. The service is slow, and thats putting it lightly, they are more condescending than anything else and i was with my mother who was so disappointed she wanted to drive to a farther part to try them out. You walk in and there is NO ONE there, they ALL seem to want to be somewhere else. You should definitely reconsider when looking for a solution to help you with your move, just added aggravation you dont need.. When we returned the vehicle . i sat in the vehicle for way too long with people walking by and no one offering assistance, it was a complete mess and UHAUL should never be overwhelmed, not a company like that with the resources they have. Finally, i walk into the office and ask them if anyones available, all i was told was leave it there well take care of it. Not only was my mother double charged with no explanation, now i cant get in touch with anyone in the office to even have this situation explained and resolved. I love supporting local businesses, my favorite part of the day is when i get to interract with different people and help another person who could benefit from information. There are plenty of UHAULS in the area, hopefully this isnt a representation of how they operate around the US. This particular place, i would steer clear of.

I do not necessarily have a complaint with this location, they did nothing wrong. I have a problem with Uhauls change of location policy. The night before I was supposed to move (after all other moving places were closed), they left me a voicemail changing my location to Edison New Jersey. This made my trip 4 miles (where i was supposed to get the truck) round trip, to 36 miles round trip. The DID NOT comp me the gas and miles extra that i had to eat because I had no choice. All I asked from Uhaul was to pay the difference in miles that I now had to pay (approximately 30 dollars). And they wouldnt do it. It felt as if they went out of their way to make sure that I had no other choice by waiting as late as they did to notify me, so that I couldnt go anywhere else. I will NOT use Uhaul ever again, and I will go out of my way to discourage others from using them as well. All of it could have been prevented if they were just willing to pay the miles difference that I unfairly had to absorb.

I rented 5 U-Boxes from this site. They were very happy to take my money, set up me with a rental contract and send the boxes.Thats when things went bad.When I called to re-deliver my boxes with all of my possessions - the company refused to take or return my calls for a week. UHaul corporate had to file a complaint just to get them to contact me.The same happened when I requested that they take the boxes off of my property - they refused to return my calls and pick up the boxes for 2 weeks, and kept charging me more and more rent and late fees. I spent multiple hours on the phone with national customer service to get things right. Moving is hard enough without having to deal with UHaul Edison.This is probably the most disorganized, crooked, unresponsive, and uncaring business Ive ever come in contact with. Thats saying quite a lot.AVOID.

The manager was very unfriendly and downright unhelpful even for something as small as an online order pickup! Thank god I don’t have to use them for actual moving purposes. If you don’t like people don’t work in a customer facing job!

Truck was dirty and I found bed bugs in my boxes after the move. It may have come from the truck. The wood in the truck looked worn and used and I dont know how well they clean the trucks in between uses. After this experience I dont trust moving trucks especially in the NY/NJ area. I wont be renting ever again.

This place is ok, i took my car for hitch installation, they gave my car with broken bumper, i had a dent in bumper prior to installation, but it has gotten worse. i advise people to thoroughly check before checkout..

The Very bad experience i had with the uhal u box. I got my appointment conformation to land the u box and when I went there they said there is no ubox empty here, on top to that the representative is helping other customers even though my issue was not resolved. He didnt even bothered to give an alternative. Very disappointed and disgusting. We finally ended up in calling the service center and got the things resolved by transferring our request to another uhal center in midtown.

This place is terribly dissatisfying.... i was 7 mins late from dropping off a uhaul that i was originally told was at another location but was in edison. I get here theres a short guy here being very short with me. He argued me down abour a dolly that he claimed wasnt in the truck and of course it was in the truck. I have a seat and then got up and asked to get the key for the rest room and he AGAIN pointed at the guy at the counter and said hell get it. Now im upset. So as im walking to the counter this short guy says something racially inappropriate to a white customer and they both chuckled. I would never rent from uhaul in edison ever again.

U-haul Edison is not poor- fair. They are deplorable. I had decided to move from New Jersey to Los Angeles and should have read a review or two first. I ordered a U-Box on the 18th of june for delivery that friday. No one ever called to confirm the order, so I assumed it would be there that morning as I requested. I waited until 5:00 pm for it to get to my home and i wasted a whole day. The manager told me to call her personal cell # to schedule a pick up. She never answered my call. I was to leave that sunday. I had to leave the box on the property and hope they would pick it up...that wednesday they finally came(my initial request was the saturday after they had dropped it off to my house). I had called the corporate head quarters too. They had told me the regional manager would get back to me. A week later I am still waiting for that call, and the manager from the Edison location too. The customer service rep even gave me the wrong number for the corporate offices in Phoenix So, in addition to all this nonsense, my account wasnt to be charged until the box was on the truck. They had charged me 6 days ago, and it was just put on the truck today. I only have the box for a month, and now it has been 2 weeks and it will take an estimated 12 days to get to LA. Thats 24 days my life will be locked up. WORST DECISION OF ALL TIME!!! If you have any other option to ship your belongings dont choose U-haul. I cant imagine you will have a pleasant experience.

Changed pickup location on a trailer in needed 3 times . To a branch an hour away from me in the opposite direction of where I was going. Lost out on purchase of vehicle. Confirmed night before that it was in the parking lot. And it was never there. Do not rely on this company at all.
