I usually by fruit n water only, because the meats looks horrible. But I brought a bag of Idaho potatoes and wouldnt you know it. When I cut them a funky odor rose but they looked good so I cooked them. The taste was funky and I realized. THEY SOLD ME SOME OLD POTATOES.Im not surprised. No MORE...

Be careful with expired foods. Today is the second time that Ive seen expired foods on their shelves. Once there was an issue with expired mayonnaise. Today I went to buy corn muffins, and they had about 20-30 packs of corn muffins, the expiration date? 09/11/20, and we are in March 2021. All of them expired and hard as a rock. I took one pack and brought it to the guy at the customer service register who completely dismissed me.Upset, I went to the state website to file a formal complaint, and they were asking about UPC, names and brands and since I didnt bother to take any picture. I decided to let it go. They are frequented by a lot of older immigrants ladies who dont know any better, and dont know how to look out for themselves.I understand that things can go unnoticed, but if I bring something to your attention, you need to make it right and call someone to pull them of the shelves. The guy at the customer service desk was rude and dismissive when I brought it to his attention.Extra - Central Ave, East Orange

If I could give zero stars I wouldThis place can only go from bad to worst with careless people working here.I rushed to get to the shop before they close and once I got there at 8:40 they refused to serve me because they were closed.The person on the door was without any manners (Salomon), I am sorry for you but you won’t see me again.

The sell-by date on my chicken was a week away, but when I got home it smelled completely rotten (I didnt smell it in the store because of my face mask). Dont waste your time or money. They need to be reported to the Health Department.

The produce is fresh maybe 30% of the time but spoils quickly. There has been numerous times Ive come across molded strawberries, and okra. Ive brought it to the stores attention. Ive purchased spoiled ice cream. Spoiled chicken has been kept on shelves where you can smell it. I only visit this store for convenience if at all necessary. I usually drive 10 minutes further to visit city supermarket in Newark as they carry the same products but guaranteed fresh.

Check the dates on everything in this store! The sale prices do not match the register prices! To make it short, go somewhere else! Was brought here to get a few things to make dinner., etc. Thought I was getting a deal on the orange juice but did not realize it expired the day I brought it, which was today! Bet, it is still on sale tomorrow with the same date as today. Meat and produce quality is so so. You have to look at it carefully! When paying for my items had a slight problem. The cashier said something and then started pointing. I had no idea what she was saying. When I asked her what she was saying, she had no idea what I was talking about. They dont thank nor greet customers as well. Save yourself some time and go somewhere else where they appreciate your business!

Extra Supermarket is extra as it states in the stores name. The franchise sell more than the average groceries. They have an extra selection or choices of vegetables, produce, meats, dry goods and canned goods from around the world. A large population of foreign shoppers patronize Extra Supermarket because they are assured theyll find all the things they need to make their homelands traditional dishes.

Very productive place. All tho somethings there are a little pricey I like how I can find exactly what I need.The store is very clean and well stocked.

Good pricing Wholesale Meat Store . The Cold Room,s Staff members are very hard working Team, with courteous Supervisor. I am always comfortable and satisfied shopping there.

Extra is great for foods more common to tropical areas, and carribean culture. If you need to stop for that one off item on the way home theyre usually good for that too. They are not a huge market in my area, but I have seen larger ones in other areas.

Catering largely to a Central/South American along with items those from the Caribbean edulge in, this is a place for you. The prices are better than a competitor of theirs. Customer Service knocks them down an entire Star because we all should be greeted with a smile by all staff and the cashier should greet you with a smile and verbally greet you as well. They were not disrespectful; they just werent warm and welcoming.

I love shopping at Extra Supermarket on Central Ave in East Orange. They always have fresh produce due to the high volume of turnover they get from local patrons. Prices are well aligned for the community and economy here in East Orange. The checkout attendants are typically super quick.

Well organized shelves, clean store and someone is always ready to help. Great cashiers. They thank you for giving tips. The only problem is that foreign items are very expensive.

Horrid for health conscious folks. In 2016, they dont even sell organic produce! As a matter of fact, some of it had expired! This is a last resort supermarket. Last resort like a Zombie Apocalypse last resort.

Ok But never use cash . You cant make returns if you use cash. And the parking lot is small. Veey real chance that your car will be hit. Also the vegetables are not always fresh.

If you live in the area you already know. Great Caribbean products, veggies etc at decent prices BUT that parking lot and escapee bars! Horrors!

Typical Extra supermarket the air smells a kin to the slaughter house. If you are looking for ethnic foods and products these is the best place to find them. The produce is average, the meat is at times questionable and the service is the same. Get in get out and watch the parking lot terrible drivers nothing special.

The extra supermarket I go 2 has the best rolls . Half n half a little to much but I like the store .

Place was like any other supermarket, some prices are a bit unrealistically high. I mean, froot loops for $5.00? I dont know about anyone else but Im not willing to pay that much for a small box of cereal.

If you need ingredients for Caribbean dishes you can get from here. The only downside is its always crowded but the prices arent expensive. Just allow yourself time to shop and stand in lines.

Being going here for some time but today’s experience really made me think going over here. The Spanish women who was at the counter start throwing the meat I took and I said don’t do it since I buy meat to last couple of weeks and don’t won’t them to get bad .but she kept ignoring me and throwing meat on top of meat in a very rude way. Pathetic behavior and zero customer service . I hope someone owns it will fix this or else lot of people will stop coming to this place. I will probably won’t return to this place who has so rude cashiers working.
