If I could give this place 0 stars, I absolutely would.I scheduled a hitch installation weeks in advance, then received a call a day before my appointment telling me their hitch bay isnt actually ready yet and asking if I can come the following day instead. Sure, fine. I ask how long it should take and am told about 3 hours.I arrive first thing when they open and drop off my vehicle. Again am told it should take around 3 hours. Im currently sitting in a cafe at the 3.5-hour mark and have just been told it will likely be closer to 6-7 hours. For reference, I had to call to get that update. Employees were rude and unhelpful both in person and over the phone and could not give me an accurate (or even roughly estimated) timeline despite me making it very clear that I am waiting for my vehicle nearby as I dont live in Denver. Thats my problem, Im told.In sum:Customer service: 0/10Communication: 0/10Actual workmanship: To be seen but Im honestly not expecting much...

Worst customer service. Was shuffled back and forth between locations as rental equipment was out of stock, then couldn’t even complete the transaction after hours of this bc they didn’t have the appropriate adapters and accommodations for my vehicle. The man on the phone was rude, derogatory and patronizing. I’ve used uhaul many times for moving but will find another business next time.

I had scheduled a time to have a hitch put on my Subaru. There was a shipping error so that the parts needed did not come in. Gavin called around and had the parts overnighted, without extra cost to me. Had the hitch on my car in time for my trip the following weekend. Went above and beyond for me. Additionally, the hitched worked great-- I took my bikes out to Moab without incident.

I made an appointment a month in advance to have a trailer hitch installed as I am moving to another state. I showed up on Thursday, the day of my appointment and was told they were having their bay worked on and they could not do my install. I was never notified not to come. They also informed me they still did not have all of the parts in yet. I was rescheduled to the following Monday. On Sunday afternoon, they called to say the bay was not finished and they needed to reschedule me. I asked them to help me out because I’m moving in 4 days. They told me there was nothing they could do and they could not contact other UHauls to see if they had availability for installation, but that I could come pick up my parts. I went to pick up my parts, and no surprise they did not have all of them. After contacting other UHauls, I found no availability in all of Denver to do the install that week. I had to make an appointment with another company and pay extra since I was using parts from another company. I would not recommend using this UHaul.

Been there 2 times both times very rude people. Got yelled the first time cause of where I parked. Second time went in to get propane at 10am and they said propane not till after noon sorry bud. Very professional. It would help if you had more employees instead of losing sales.

I had a terrible experience with this location. I felt threatened and taken advantage upon my return. Leo especially made me feel uncomfortable and I did not enjoy being alone in the facility with him as he repeatedly threatened me with extra fees if I did not fold the rental blankets which had some leaves on them.I would use any other Uhaul facility besides this one. I have never had such an unpleasant customer experience. Avoid Avoid Avoid. I wish I could give it fewer stars.

They have multiple pickups scheduled this morning and only one employee. This is seriously stupid. Came back the next day and still no staff on hand. They made five ready-to-go customers wait half an hour for one idiot lady who couldnt be bothered to look at the website or come prepared.

With a walk-in reservation, staff was very friendly, speedy, and helped me adjust my booking to avoid an additional charge that I would hand incurred because I ultimately needed the rental longer than expected.Newer vehicle, drove great.Return couldnt have been easier. 1 minute to check in and I was on my way.Would be happy to use this location again

Terrible customer service!!!!! I had a reservation to pick up a truck. They close at 7 p.m. and I arrived at 6:45 PM. I was standing outside the door, talking to my daughter on the phone, and the owner comes out and asked if I had a truck to pick up. I told him I did and he said well, we are about to close. That irritated me, since it only took him about 5 minutes to get me the keys and get me out the door, but whatever.He told me when he gave me keys that there was a half tank and I had to return it with a half tank in it. I got in the truck and was pulling out when I noticed there was less than a quarter of a tank in it. He had already closed the store, 10 minutes early, so I took a video recording showing what the gas level it was at and I sent him an email.I also put $20 worth of gas in it, even though I probably used less than $10 worth of gas for a 19 mile round trip use. When I returned it, they still charged me $22 for returning it below a half a tank.In addition to that, I showed up 10 minutes before they closed to return it and they already closed. I put the key in the after-hours drop box, and they charged me a $20 after hours convenience fee.This place is a joke!

I came in needing to buy a furniture pad, which they sell, and when I went to check out, they said wait...we have an old one in back that you can have if you want. Wow. This truly deserves 0 stars but thats not an option. I got a receiver hitch installed on my vehicle, and before coming down called and tried to verify if the parts were in store and if I could leave my vehicle for overnight. The girl said she would call back after asking her manager. 30 minutes layer no call back, I just took it in, and this happened to be close to closing. Long story short I got rushed out the door, but I was told theyd call me with an estimated pick up time or when it was finished that next day. I hadnt heard anything so called the store and was told my vehicle install was complete, but upon arrival they werent even close! So he finished up half of it and we scheduled the second half.. I go drop it off this morning and he quotes me an hour and a half, and then I find out he was done in 20 minutes.. great so that all could have been done the first day?!? So I get a Lyft to the store, and theres no one there so I wait for ten minutes.. also I was told I would get a discount for the fiasco on the first day, but apparently he didnt pass that on or even schedule my visit. But whatever, Im just glad to be finally done with this and NEVER return. Wish I had just done it myself and avoided this store altogether

Dropped my car off for a1 hour install. The guy at the desk said its a 4 hour install, but Im guessing on the list. I expressed that I had plans and didnt budget this much time. I went back in 6 hours, still another 2 hours, but if get a call as soon as it was done. 3 hours later we finally couldnt wait any longer and went down preparing to take it as it. Well it was done. I got no call. They did give me a discount, but that didnt fix all the plans that I had.I will say that the guy seemed very knowledgeable about doing the work and I was happy (eventually) with the quality of work.

At first I was very frustrated to learn that U-Haul call center had given me incorrect information about installing a hitch and wiring. They told me I could drop into any U-Haul location any time and get it installed. So with just a few days left until my move, I tried to do just that, only to find that this particular location doesn’t actually have a hitch installer onsite except for 1 day per week!Thankfully, Leo and Taylor were SUPER helpful and spent about 45 minutes on the phone with Uhaul call center and other stores nearby to find me an appointment ASAP to get my hitch wiring done. Thanks to their efforts, my trip will only be delayed by a day, and the situation could have been much worse if not for their help.

I had reserved a truck from this location, but the morning of pickup they had moved my reservation to a different location and a different day. The owner, Cash, informed me it was “nothing personal” and did absolutely nothing to help. Luckily when I called U-haul Denver headquarters they were happy to help.The problem with changing location without letting people know is you pay for mileage. And the problem with changing the days of the reservation is that I needed the truck when I said I needed a truck.I was unhappy with the service and the lack of customer care by the owner.But shout out to Jeremy at headquarters who found a U-haul location near me, made special accommodations, and now I can carry on with my move. I don’t recommend this location, but I do recommend the company.

Came to install a tow package on our Jeep. We were told it would take two to four hours to complete. Five and half hours later our car was finally finished. I am generally an understanding customer, but the lack of customer service was absolutely shocking. We were completely ignored by the representatives by the counter as we waited, no updates or apologies were given. You could tell they absolutely did not care about our buisness.

If you need a hitch installed, I dont recommend this location. I ended up taking the replacement wiring harness (because the one originally installed was faulty) to Charles at 830 Wadsworth and had a much better experience.- made an appointment for a hitch install a week in advance so they could order parts for my vehicle. Dropped off my car, took a lyft home, and when I arrived home they called to tell me they didnt have the parts in so I needed to come get my car ..- got the hitch installed the following week, drove to Ohio to pick up a camper only to find out the wiring kit didnt work (which should have been checked when I left Uhaul the week prior), so I had to tow it back to Colorado without proper lights- I wasnt asked about the rise needed for a trailer, so mine was about 6 off the ground.. had to buy a new one in Ohio- made an appointment on Monday to fix the wiring at 11am. By 12:30pm, nobody had even taken my keys yet. Office was horribly understaffed and when I finally asked for an update I was told he had no idea when he would be able to even look at the issue, so I took the wiring kit and left.Charles had me in and out at the Wadsworth location in less than two hours, and took the time to show me that the lights worked correctly before I left. He was also very apologetic for the wasted time Id experienced, which Alameda never acknowledged. Alameda is always busy and understaffed, and clearly rush the work as a result. Either they need to hire someone to check in/out trucks and trailers so they can actually install hitches, or they should stop offering the service.

I deleted my last review for the simple fact that there manager at this location called me this morning and apologized and gave me a refund on my rental. I was actually going to call today to apologise for my behavior on the phone yesterday. I was very baligerant and rude so I again I want to apologise to Kash (hope I spelled right) and thank you. I prayed on this all night and I was wrong for talking to you like that. Im so sorry. I appreciate the fact that you would take the time to call me and talk to me even after how I acted yesterday. You are a great example of good management.

We hired 3rd party movers (Number 1 Movers CO or #1 Movers, depending on where you look) through the app. They were AWFUL; strung us along for 3.5 hours and then canceled. The two Uhaul employees were so nice and accommodating. The thin rope that my sanity was held on by would have been toast if they hadnt been so easy to work with.I think the staffing issues that others mentioned have been worked out. There were 4 people yesterday and at least 2 I saw today.

This place is pretty terrible for propane and terrible service - call before you go. I just left there after standing outside for 45 minutes. Sign outside shop says “for propane got to pump”. Then there’s a doorbell to ring to let them know you’re out there. I stood out there after ringing the bell, even going in once and making eye contact with them. I finally went back in, walking past the sign saying “wait at pump for propane”, and asked if the propane was available. The guys looked at each other and shrugged, then said “no”. I said “you should put a sign next on the call button, and maybe take down the sign saying go to the pump for propane.” They shrugged again, and said “yeah...we probably should.” WTH?!? Earlier this summer same thing. Completely tiresome being treated like that as a customer.

The owner, after dealing with a huge prick before us, was super relaxed with us, even though my partner and I are a young couple. It was plain and simple after making a registration over the phone the day before. After an intense move till 4am in the morning, we speed back to the rental location with perfect gas, and a clean vehicle. The only bad part of the experience was the vehicle itself; a 20 uhaul packed to the brim with a horrible transmission, that I let the facility know would most likely blow with the next customers use. They handled it well, and said they would take care of it.

I have been sitting here for FIVE HOURS waiting to get my vehicle wired so I could attach a 5x 8 U-Haul to my Jeep. Only ONE staff member working here today. I feel bad for him, but management needs to get their stuff together and make sure this business is properly staffed. I’m asking for half price of my total of $144 for getting my vehicle wired. Diego the owner does not care about his customers. We have used this place severel times because of the location convenience and there has been a problem each time. When there is a problem he shrugs his shoulders when you would think he would try to come up with a solution. This place is shady.We rented a truck and drove 6.3 miles and the gas tank went from half full to empty. So we filled it up and told him about the problem with the meter and because we didnt take a picture we were not able to get a reimbursement.Before I even explained the problem he had told me there was nothing he could do. I will not be returning to this place ever again. As a customer we want to know that our business is appreciated. It clearly is not here.

Never have I experienced such horrible customer service. Dont bother trying to call it will ring once or twice and then you will listen to dead silence for 20 minutes and still not get a hold of them. Double charged after talking to a CSR at the 1800 number and being told we could leave our truck wherever because she couldnt get a hold of them either. Truck had a broken fuel gauge and didnt get the dolly we requested. Will probably end up disputing the charge through my credit card company since I can NEVER get anyone to answer the phone. Waiting to hear back but not holding my breath.

AWFUL! I will never use this location again and would not recommend it to anyone! I was charged a $150 damage fee, that I did not authorize, because I was waiting to receive a call from the area manager to dispute a damage claim. I have yet to receive a call, yet my card has been charged. Diego, the general manager, insisted that the front bumper was “damaged” because it had a scuff on it that was easily wiped off. He accused us of putting grease on it that would dry and the mark would come back. See the photo for “damage”. Diego is not a reasonable person and I would beware of renting anything at this location. If you look online there are many other complaints against him and one star reviews. I rent from uhaul regularly and have never experienced anything so shady!

Set up appointment for hitch installation. Date comes, get email same day stating date changed to weeks later without my knowledge and of course no one answers the phone at this location. To my understanding an appointment is a reservation at a specific time to conduct buisness. So now I have to look elsewhere for a competent buisness to install a hitch. What a joke.

A well deserved reputation of terrible customer service. I was the only customer in the building when I walked up to the service counter. The U-Haul employee, Rob Ledger, did not acknowledge my presence - I was standing right in front of him - after several moments I ventured a friendly hello and got a hi in return. He never looked up, just kept on counting the money in his till, drawer after drawer, coin after coin, bill after bill. I recognize counting is probably a very difficult task for Rob, but an Ill be right with you or something of that nature would not have taken too much effort. I stood there for what seemed like an eternity before I walked out and took my business to the U-Haul Dealer at 830 Wadsworth in Lakewood. Dont reward bad customer service with your business, take your money to U-Haul dealer with a team that looks and acts like professionals and has the ratings to back it up.

Worst possible experience. We tried to have a hitch installed, paid expedited shipping and were told installation should take 1h. Instead of the part arriving Wednesday, we didnt get a call until Saturday when we supposedly had at appointment at 10am no one told us about. Then we are told installation will take 4-6h!!! They decided that on the 29th of the month, they only needed 1 staff present to handle customers and installations... When the hitch was done, again no call. I highly recommend not ever using this locations services.

Actually one of the best experiences I have had with Uhaul. I read the other reviews and I know some were bad. It probably just luck of the draw. There was only one guy working the place, but Im very patient. I had literally driven 1500 miles in a Uhaul towing a car, so I wanted to drop the dolly before I unloaded the Uhaul. It would make it easier to navigate downtown. I honestly expected attitude, but he was really cool about it. He even told me to not unload the car from the dolly until he could help me with it because he didnt want me to damage my car. This was shocking, because I have rented a car dolly before and even though they helped me load the car, they told me they werent supposed to as it was liability. The only reason I gave 4 stars is, they should have staffed the place better. It was one guy manning the entire store. From past reviews, this appears to be common.
