Prices are a bit higher but it’s expected in a small neighborhood grocery store. The cashiers are really nice.

I love the staff. Prices may be a little higher than Kroger or Walmart but its a cool place to grocery shop. I just hate the smell when you walk through the door. Just my own personal thing. But other than that I shop there all the time

It was crowded but the lines move fairly quick. I just had to get a few items but I did look at some of the prices on steak. Theyre not packaged pretty like the chain supermarkets but great prices. Its a good place to go if you live in the area and need the basics and not looking for anything fancy.

Pretty decent place if you want to pick up bacon. They slice it for you thick with the rind on it. They also have a pretty good selection of vegetables and pretty cool stuff for a small farmers market.

It was very a somber feeling going back to this location after the cashier was killed a few months ago. She was a beautiful person who was killed for doing her job.

I shop there all the time, they have nice fruits and vegetables.

This store is filled with care. I love coming here with my children. We walk here. Everyone has been polite to us. Food is affordable to me..veggies are fresh and meat is good.

I was able to get what I needed, when I visited the store. The ginger root, did not look that great that day.

They have a great selection of meats at a good price. I went to three different stores looking for ox tails and they had them at a reasonable price. They also have different choices in vegetable. A lot of old school foods that are not priced to high.

I dont shop there much, but I have now made it my go to place for fresh collard greens. They have had a good selection the two times I went there for them. Was also told about these pound cakes they get from a bakery, tried the lemon one & was not disappointed. Wish they had organic veggies & fruit, but thats ok, will go there for what works for me.

I Always find what Im looking for at Big Bear. And plus I love going there for the music that play on the inside. And Im not the only one. However, some items such as medicine, etc., are sort of blocked off and you have to ask someone for assistance.

I love to shop for meats and produce at this store. They have been fresh and reasonably priced, each time Ive visited Big Bear. This store stays busy and has always been clean. 👍👍

Great southern classic Grocery store to shop at.

Well, I didnt like the customer service. The guy I asked where the bathroom was and the ladies in the deli were not that nice. The cashier was so busy talking to her coworker about which sandwich she wanted for her lunch, she totally ignored me. I felt she took me for granted. Very unprofessional👎👎. The meat was very nice though.

While most of the staff is very pleasant, there is a low standard at times at this location. Poor signage for pricing of produces is at times an issue. Instead of apologizing, front end supervisor was very rude, disrespectful and loud. By all accounts very unprofessional. Just because you place a store in a black community in what some consider to be the hood, there should always still be a high standard of excellence and customer service that should be the expectation.

Always a great place to visit meats and veggies are reasonably price but for anything else make sure you check your prices cause they might not be as accurate at time of check out.

The staff there is very pleasant! They definitely believe in Customer Service! Youll have the opportunity to see the owners, my experience with them has been awesome, as well. During their hours of operation you will see the Local Police staged at the ready. They do have a full supply of the basics, due to the Covid-19 Pandemic. I couldnt ask for anything more.

I like Big Bear Supermarket for certain items. I like their Meats, Collards, Grn Breans and others items. You cant beat the prices on those items.Good Place to shop. Its not all that clean, but its doable.😆

The store could be a little cleaner the price of fruit and vegetable was a little cheaper also some meat. Like I said cleanliness is next to godliness. Peace

The ghetto. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted and offered help, by a customer. The employees didn’t even acknowledge us. The store smells like a nasty diaper that has been sitting out. We had a few run ins with other customers that we can’t fault the store for but I’m sure we would’ve avoided these experiences had we gone to another store. When we got to the register, the cashier did not say one word to us throughout the entire transaction. The cashier next to her heard us talking and decided to add his opinion about loose cigarettes. I will not be returning to this store.

Wow. Why is it that grocery stores in poor areas are always more expensive🤔? It just doesn’t seem right. There’s a lack of everything here and the things that they do have are wayyyy overpriced. If you can manage just go to a Kroger’s, Walmart, Publix, Lidl, Aldi, and anywhere but here honestly.

I loved this place. It reminds me of the old school supermarket when I was growing up. It has Momo and Pop feel to it. The produce is fresh and prices are good.Dont sleep on this place.

Its convenient for us since they closed the Kroger. Some of the cashiers are rude. You might walk up to a register and they will walk off and dont say nothing. Not a Ill be right back shortly nothing. They might be closing down their register or switching over and dont say, Im closed or were doing a shift change give us a minute before you start removing your groceries from the cart. Some of them will say it with an attitude, causing tension between them and the customer. As if people not spending their money in this establishment so they can even have a job. They will make eye contact with you and say nothing just start scanning your groceries. You have to speak or all youll hear is, have a great day. But the groceries are a reasonable price. The attitudes needs improvement.

Place with very slow checkout process. Got lot of food items. Seems to have rough neighborhood as people with the full cart will stand in the line for express lane eventhough its clearly mentioned 15 items or less. Cashier hardly speak to the customer and credit card readers look like they are about to fall on the ground.

I live in the neighborhood and shop there often especially for fruit and vegetables - the best and most reasonable in area. Cashiers and customer service always excellent. Unlike some grocery stores(including big chains), Big Bear is always accommodating by having enough lines open for their customers. Dont buy everything there, but have never had a problem with anything that I have bought. Glad they are there for the convenience and service to the neighborhood.

This Supermarket is an asset to the community, they carry a wide range of fresh meats and vegetables; big bear is well known to the black community, we have always shopped this store for items that we can find no where else. In a time when a lot of the stores are carrying pre packaged meats and no real meat department, Big bear still cut their meat fresh. I visited the Vegetable department and received great customer service, the vegetables were fresh and the prices was very reasonable. Though I live a little far from this store, I will make a point of visiting more often

Very great place. Experience usually good there but had a very rude cashier today in lane one. There was only 2 cashiers,lane 2 has customer with buggy full if groceries so I went to lane one. As I was putting my groceries on the belt, the cashier asked medic you have 15 items or less? After counting my items, I had 20 items. I told her I have a little over. She told me I could not come through the line. I then had to all my items back in my buggy and go to lane 2 where the lady had a full buggy of grocery. As I was in the line 2, the guy in front of me in line one notice he did spend 20 dollar so he wanted to get extra items so his transaction could total 20 dollars. The cashier rudly told him sir you cant go get any thing else because you have your 20 items. There was no one else in the line after him or me so out of courtesy she could have completed both our transactions. The gentlemen told the manager but she seems to not ever care. I also spoke with the manager via phone but again she did seem to care. I will be trying to get in touch with their corporate office to report this.
