I 100% recommend using Margo West for bridal alterations! I was very anxious about finding someone to alter a dress that I just spend the rest of my savings on. My dress had many layers to deal with and looked so delicate to me. I immediately felt comfortable and confident in their abilities by the way they spoke with me during my fitting. When they had my dress ready I was nervous all day, but when I tried it on I felt a huge wave of relief. I am so grateful for the care put into my dream dress. I can’t recommend them enough!

After a bridal salon completely botched my measurements, I wound up with a gown WAY too small and quite disproportionate to my body. I was a budget bride with a dress disaster. Nothing about it fit, especially since I am tall with a long torso, large bust, and small waist. I spent weeks searching for the right person to fix this mess. I only wanted the best and wow, I found it! Margo restructured my entire gown to perfection. She also handled some extra customizations for me, including joining together the deep plunge neckline (with perfectly matched lace!), removing the zipper back & adding a corset, and adding a bustle. The dress is two-toned multi-layered champagne/ivory lace with silver metallic threading and silver glitter throughout the layered tulle skirt. Margos work was seamless (forgive the pun!) - it looked like the entire gown was made just for me. My dress was pretty to begin with, but it became a show-stopper!In addition to her incredible work, she is simply amazing to work with. She was so patient and helpful throughout all my emails, calls, and design finalizations. I had a blast at my dress fittings! Margo is so enjoyable to be around and always kept me smiling. Her sister helped me at my final fitting & pick up appointment - she is an absolute angel too! Also, their studio is gorgeous! If you are looking for help with your dress, rest assured you will be in the best hands here. Dont settle when it comes to quality! I will forever recommend Margo West to all of my clients, friends, and family.

Margo was so easy to work with and my dress was just perfect for my wedding. Margo is also easy to communicate with. I dropped my dress off right before the 2021 winter storms in Dallas and even with power outages Margo was able to make my alterations on time. She also takes the time to walk you through how your bustle works which I really appreciated! I highly recommend Margo for your alteration needs!

Margo is beyond talent and has the sweetest soul. Her craftsmanship is unmatched! She flawlessly altered my dress after a 25lb weight loss and a breast reduction (no small task- especially on a tight timeline). There is not another shop I would ever trust with my alterations after Margo set the bar so high.

I just wanted to WARN future brides or anyone with a special occasion.Firstly I am not sure how she has so many good reviews. Maybe it was just my experience. When I first called to book my appointment for my wedding dress alteration I talked to Margo herself for about 30 minutes(February 2021). We discussed everything about my upcoming wedding, my weight, type or dress, any additions, etc. I made an appointment in May because I live in Austin and that was the next time I would be in Dallas. She was totally fine with the date and we confirmed everything.Drove from ATX to Dallas for my appointment and when I walked in she didn’t even know who I was nor why I was there. This lady told me to my face that she booked too many appointments and couldn’t alter my dress the day of my appointment. My wedding was in July so I had a little time but not that much if I wanted to add anything. I wanted to cry. She had no care in the world how much she inconvenienced me. Months/weeks/days had gone by and I didn’t get no notification of her overbooking herself. When I purchased my dress back in 2019 my bridal store recommended that I go to Altered for the altar but I wanted to support her business instead. BIG MISTAKE.The funny thing is, after she told me she couldn’t help me she referred me to Altered for the altar. Thankfully I was able to get in with another seamstress and she did an amazing job for my wedding. All that to say, planning a wedding is so stressful and I am just here to help future brides avoid extra stress from people who are unorganized and unprofessional. Maybe she needs an assistant or maybe she’s just unprofessional. I don’t know but DONT RISK IT in the middle of planning your special day.

Margo is the SWEETEST EVER and I would absolutely recommend her a million times over! She so graciously made time for a somewhat last-minute appointment for me when I was in a pinch because I lived out of town and almost every other place I called was fully booked that weekend while I was in town! Having never been married, lol, I was a little nervous to hand over such a special dress to someone else and trust them altering it, and I had no idea what to expect, but Margos sweet demeanor put me at ease, she thoroughly explained what shed do and walked me through every step both before and after receiving my dress back, and ultimately she surpassed any expectation I ever couldve had! Her work was nothing short of flawless, only made my dress BETTER, her hospitality was unmatched, and I had the best experience all-around! Not to mention, she was able to work with my short timeline and her turnaround was SO quick! I wish I had another dress to alter even just so I could go back to hang out and chat with her some more! :) God bless you, Margo! I will share pictures as soon as we have our big day on July 9th!! ❤

It is hard to even put into words how happy I am with the work that was done on my dress. My dress was pretty much destroyed by another alterations company. When I brought it in to Margo West, they were very honest with me about how much work would have to be done on the dress. They were confident it could be better but honest that its current condition was very bad. The seams werent straight, layers were stitched together that shouldnt be, etc etc. Basically my dress looked like a wrinkled mess. Margo worked ENDLESS hours on my dress until it was truly perfect. The dress fit perfectly and lay without wrinkle. My confidence was restored and I actually loved my dress again. After stressing for weeks, I can say that Margo west literally saved my wedding dress/wedding day. I am so grateful and would recommend them to anyone. They are not afraid of a challenge and just completely knocked it out of the park - true professionals.

Incredibly talented, amazing eye for detail, took my vision and exceeded ALL of my expectations, I will be a customer of Margo West for LIFE. Many girls grow up dreaming of the day they get married, more importantly the dress they will wear on their wedding day, well I am NOT that girl. I don’t really enjoy wearing dresses, so I made the decision that I would wear a dress for the ceremony BUT then I would immediately change into a suit for the reception. Now I just had to find the perfect suit. I knew this would not be an easy task because I’m broad shouldered and nothing really ever fits me that well. After months of searching online and in what seemed like every store I was unsuccessful. I knew I wanted to find a white suit but I also wanted it to be form fitting as if it were made specifically for me, which meant, I needed/wanted a custom made suit. After asking around, our wedding florist suggested that I give Margo a call, she used Margo to help create her wedding dress and loved her. So the next day I called Margo, and honestly it was the best call I have ever made in my entire life. I remember telling Margo what it was I was wanting, what my budget was, and she said to email her a couple of pictures of what I had in mind and she would let me know if it would be possible to do what was asking and still keep me within my budget. I emailed over the pictures and within a couple of minutes, I got her response saying yes she could do it. I told her I’m leaving everything up to her, as far as fabric choices, I just want it to be a shiny white ivory color, but the rest is up to her. A few short months later, I had the most incredible white ivory suit; it was better than the one I had envisioned. Margo truly has a gift for what she does and it shows in her work. And not only did she make me my dream suit she also altered the lace blouse that I bought to go with it, so that it would fit me to a T. And she also made some small alterations to my dress as well so that I would feel more supported in my chest area and added stronger snaps for my shoulder strap. I honestly don’t know what I would have done without her. And lastly I want to mention that I loved her staff as well. They were all so nice and friendly. I can confidently say that no one else could have done as good of a job as Margo did, with bringing my vision to life.

I cant say enough positive things about my experience here. Not only did my dress look good but the energy of Margo and her team was amazing. They made me even more excited to wear my dress. We also did not know if we were going to have to take it out last minute because when I first came in it did not fit. We held off on taking it out and at my final fitting the dress fit like a glove! BUT the ladies had promised me that if it didnt they would take the dress out in a weeks notice. Thankfully I did not put them under that pressure but that really is impeccable customer service! I would highly recommend them for dress alterations!

MARGO IS THE BEST! I was referred to her by my sister after she had an amazing experience with her for her wedding. Margo altered my dress absolutely perfectly and it fits like a glove. She worked wonders with my bustle too! I was so nervous about it all because with covid I had gained weight and at our first fitting my dress wouldnt even zip! Margo was so kind to me and uplifting and that meant so much to me because I had been at my most vulnerable at that first appointment. It was a truly amazing moment when after my hard work losing the weight and her hard work working her magic on my dress that it all came together beautifully. I could not recommend her enough!

I have read other reviewers that had almost identical experiences like mine during Winter 2020 and in other previous years. Please read and be informed. This is nothing against Margo herself, but more about her practice and the experience I had, which is why I want to leave for other brides to read. The first fitting I was charged $880.69 for a ball gown bustle and bringing in the waist and bust from a size 6 to a size 2. Come to find, this is extremely overpriced compared to other seamstresses in the DFW area. Red flag #1. I went back a week later because I found shoes that were shorter and therefore I would be needing a hem. I was charged $270.63 for the hem. I understand that hems are one of the hardest parts of a dress, but this seems still ridiculously overpriced...red flag #2. Over $1000 for dress alterations seems extreme, especially since it was not a very intricate dress (no beading or lace), but I just thought this was Dallas prices and it’s really not a big deal. Finally I got a hold of Margo and I went in for my, now, third fitting. The dress could not/did not zip (the waist was too small) but yet the cups of the dress were 1 inch off my body (still too big) AKA IT DID NOT FIT ME. Margo proceeded to say it could have been my “quarantine” weight gain, birth control pills causing my breasts to gain in size, or just generally my body’s fault. If my bust grew why was it still gaping in the cups? Never once did she take even the slightest blame. Meanwhile I had not gained weight, all of my clothes, bras, etc fit exactly the same. Red flag #3. She then suggests for me to take it home for a month, see if I lose the weight or my body “changes” and come back 18 days before my wedding and “we’ll see what we need to do then”. SO I am taking home a dress that 100% does NOT fit me, in the middle of a pandemic, and mentally thinking I need to lose weight or something is wrong my body me. Why not just fix it then? Red flag #4. I felt incredibly uneasy and asked to come in earlier than planned and it of course still does not fit. She states that she will need to completely start over due to me (and once again, NOT HER). She then charges me $443 just to bring it back out to the original size 6 and that there will be MORE charges after the $443 to make it fit to me. I refused to pay this and state that it can’t just be my body that is at fault. Margo takes me to the back to prove that her stitching was correct and that she did everything she was supposed to do. I leave without paying. I was angry and beyond stressed because we could not afford to basically do a complete do over with alterations making this a total over $2000. We decided it would just be cheaper to find another dress so I went dress shopping round 2, found another dress and took it to another seamstress in Dallas (Annette with Best Fit Alterations) who charged me $150 and did wonderfully! This still did not even come close to covering the emotional stress she caused me. A girl is supposed to feel beautiful and confident in their wedding dress, if not the most beautiful they have ever felt and that is not what I felt in that dress. The experience with Margo made me feel ugly, weight conscientious, and the opposite of beautiful in my gown that I originally felt stunning in when I first tried it on. This was all on top of replanning a wedding in the midst of a pandemic and Margo had the opportunity to make my dress the one thing that was constant among the change and chaos and she 100% did not do that. Instead, she kept over charging and making me feel worse in my dress, to the point I had to get a new one. I would not suggest going to this business and I just wish I had read a review to avoid this situation on such an important part of the wedding day and whole wedding process.

First off everyone at Margos was very friendly and welcoming. I came in for a consultation a month before my wedding. I was referred by my friend who got her dress altered here and trusted her recommendation. I went in and they pinned almost the whole dress to make it look perfect on me. (My dress was a size 6 but Im more like a 2/4 so I wasnt THAT big) I was so excited until I went to the back office to discuss prices. I didnt realize how expensive Margos shop was. I knew dress alterations are expensive but the price they showed me blew me out of the water. I decided to find a different place because frankly the alterations would have cost more than my actual dress! I was so happy to find an alterations place that did everything Margos shop would have done for 1/3 of the price! Im sure Margos shop would have left my dress great but the price was definitely a deal breaker. I wish they would have talked about prices sometime during the actual fitting versus waiting until the very end. I was there for about two hours. I feel like I wasted my time and theirs.

Margo is phenomenal, I am so thankful I found her card and called for an appointment. From the moment I contacted her she gave me honest and useful feedback on finding a dress and ultimately I decided to have her make my dress. I showed her two photos and explained the parts of each that I liked. From that she created a work of art, the dress of my dreams, fit for a princess, and I received so many compliments on it. She also made a custom vest, tie, and pocket square for my husband out of the fabric of my dress, such a special heirloom to treasure long after our big day! Her attention to every detail made it perfect, plus she is a wonderful woman who made the entire experience so much fun for me and my mom! Her work is worth every penny and she is priceless!

Margo and her team were absolutely amazing! We did have a bit of an issue finding the place for the first time, but once we were inside, it was a great experience. I was pretty confident that my dress didnt need a ton of work - raising the hemline, shortening the straps, and adding a bustle. But once I got into the dress with my corset underneath, we discovered it stuck up above the back of the dress. Margo said it wasnt a problem, and shed add a panel to cover the corset.I have to admit that I was a little concerned about how the longer modesty panel would look. Ive seen a lot of dresses that have very obviously had something added to them. But when I went back for my second (and final) fitting, it looked amazing! She found fabric and lace that matched the rest of the bodice perfectly. The price was a little steeper than I expected ($750-ish), but a good chunk of that was adding the panel, and for it to look like it belongs definitely was worth it! Margo clearly has a lot of experience with wedding gowns, and it shows in her work.

My dress is a size 10, but I only got that size because it was discontinued, the right price and the place I got my dress said they can alter the dress to a size 2-4 for about $300. However, they shut down so I had to scramble for places. I went here because of the reviews. Don’t get me wrong they were all nice people, but after telling me how much it costs to alter my dress...there was no way I was going to pay $2000 to alter my wedding dress that was triple the price of my wedding dress, something I’m only going to wear once. Not only was I angry and stressed, but they neglect to tell me that I had to pay a $50 consultation fee because I didn’t fall through???? Who in the world makes you pay for consultation fee? It’s a wedding dress!!!!! My goodness. Save yourself some time because it is over priced and they don’t tell you that you have to pay a fee if you don’t do business with them. I ❤ Margo! I bought my dress in London, where I was living, when a sudden job offer meant leaving the UK sooner than expected. So I rushed to get my dress tailored. It was done in London. I was happy with it... or so I thought... I went to Margo a few months before our wedding to ask her to attach a small detail to the front of my dress. Standing in front of her 3-way mirror, wearing my already tailored dress, Margos expert eyes started to work their magic... You see my dress was tailored. But not well. And not to her standard. She is absolutely meticulous and it wasnt until she put a few strategically placed pins that my dress suddenly came to life and was PERFECT.Perfectly fitted to me and my shape. I was able to see how before the back of the dress was just shapeless and hanging off me, but she brought it in at the all the right places so the dress would display my best figure from ALL angles (not just from the front!). Along with correcting the fit and previous poor-tailoring, she also changed the bustle from an American to a French, so that these adorable little layers of lace underneath (which I didnt even realize were under there before!) were now visible. If you want a truly Perfect dress, please do yourself a favor and go straight to Margo. I loved my dress even more after all of the work that they put in and I would highly recommend Margos Alterations to anyone in the future. I had a lot of beading and they did a great job with it. Money well spent!!

I bought a beautiful dress for my wedding and was so excited to wear it, only to find out I was pregnant! I was so worried I would not be able to wear the dress and all the money I spent on it would be a waste, but Margo saved the day. She found a beautiful fabric and redid the whole bottom half of the dress. It looked amazing and I got compliments all night!

Margo did a wonderful job with my wedding dress! I bought a ball gown that I wanted to shorted to tea length and she made it look fantastic! She also put in bra cups and made me a custom hot pink petticoat to go underneath it! When my mom couldnt come to my final dress fitting, she actually volunteered to open up the shop on a Monday (usually her day off) so my mom and maid of honor could come with me and see the final product! Since she is so good at what she does, her schedule is pretty busy, so make sure to bring in your dress with plenty of lead time, but thats true just about anywhere. I would recommend her to anyone with a wedding or other formal dress that needs to be altered. Great job!

Margo took a dream of mine to refit and update my mothers wedding dress to be used for my wedding into a true reality!! When I first took the dress to her, it was yellowed with stains on it, but Margo was ever optimistic about the final product. The dress turned out to be perfect! I loved my appointments with Margo and her staff because I felt so beautiful and important. They were flexible if something wasnt as I envisioned and offered to clean it between bridal pictures and the wedding itself.I could not more highly recommend a vendor and person to work with when you need alterations for any event!

Wow..... I had an outstanding experience with Margo!!! I brought her a piece of cloth that I wanted made into a veil for my wedding. It was an Indian wedding so the fabric was very heavy and had many embellisments. I honestly thought it would be impossible for anybody to create what I wanted with what they had to work with. Margo told me I dont take on anything that I dont think I can do. She was right, and she made the most beautiful veil for me. I couldnt believe it... all the guests at our wedding we talking about how gorgeous it was. She is an angel and definitely an expert in what she does!!!!!

Margo and her staff are very professional and kind. I had a bridesmaid dress to be altered, and Margo did a wonderful job pinning the dress for me, pre-alteration. The dress was ready in 3 weeks. When I tried the dress on, it was more snug than I had anticipated and remembered from the pinning session. I commented on the dress being a bit tight in the rib cage, but the seamstress just recommended having assistance clasping the back. The dress was taken in more than I had wanted and was comfortable with, but having only 4 days before I flew out for the wedding, I couldnt do much. The dress did well for the ceremony, but the clasps in the back did break 4 hours into the wedding. I tried safety pinning the dress so it would stay up since it was strapless, but the dress was done, and I had to wear my rehearsal dinner dress for the rest of the evening. I am disappointed because I had paid $130 for the alterations, and the clasps in the back broke, partially due to the way the dress was constructed Im sure but also partially because the dress was altered too tight. Im naturally a size 4/6 and did not gain weight between the pre- and post-alteration sessions, so I am disappointed that my dress went from being too big to too small. I was wearing a bra during my fitting and couldnt wear one during the ceremony (as planned with Margo, but I thought I would have a little more room once the dress was done since I was wearing a bra when I had it fitted). I would recommend just asking to keep the dress a little looser for any alterations that are being taken in. I appreciate Margos help and professionalism--justupset that my dress did not last more than half the ceremony when I paid $130 for alterations.

Horrible business. Dont go here if you want a dress made. Didnt finish dress when they said they would, wanted to charge more money for time 2 days before due date. Due date which was Oct 3rd and we picked up unfinished dress Oct 25th and they wanted to give her the dress oct 28th after bride was leaving for her wedding the 27th. Refused to finish dress and said that according to first meeting notes dress was done. However, bride had over 7 fittings to discuss what bride really wanted for her dress, which was agreed to by dress maker with no discussion of extra time or cost. The only thing that couldnt be controlled is that our lace hadnt shipped until Oct 13th. Had to take dress to an emergency dress maker to get finished. She said she could get what needed to be done in 24hrs. Dont understand how someone could run a business like this.

I came to Margo almost in tears bc I hated my wedding dress!! Another shop ordered it in the wrong color, I was left with an expensive dark nude/brown dress & didnt know what to do. A close friend recommended her, If anybody can help you, Margo can help you! And she did just that! She removed the dark tulle, lightened my dress by adding an ivory skirt underneath and even reconstructed it to be strapless. It fit me like a glove! Im forever thankful for Margo, her sister and all the ladies at the shop! They provided amazing customer service. I am happy and excited to wear my wedding again! #IAmAMargoBride

Very rude and unprofessional just because I wasn’t willing to pay $200+ just to alter half an inch off my dress due to it being to long... I was told to go on and look for someone else who would do it for a cheaper price... I’m so glad I found someone else who did it for $40 and has 5 star reviews! I would not recommend this place to anyone. Please save your money... there is professional and kind people that will do an amazing job for a very reasonable price. If I could give this place zero stars I would.

Had an emergency with my wedding dress exactly a week before the wedding. I thought it would be impossible to fix but luckily my fiancee found Margo. She did what others would have taken several weeks to do in a few days. She is like an angle sent from heaven. Margo and her team can work miracles I went hating my dresses and how it fitted. After Margo took over I fell in love with it all over again.

I bought my wedding dress off the rack because of time constraints. Margo West (in Deep Ellum) did an amazing job on repairing beadwork, hiding organza snags, taking length up (on the 4-layer skirt), and letting it out so it would fall properly. Sonia was so great to work with and was so accommodating to my tight timeline. I had a great experience with them and am very pleased with their work.

I vistited Margos salon a few months ago because I saw all of her raving reviews online. I was so excited to start the process of perfecting my dress. I called Margo and let her know my wedding was in April and I wanted to see about an appointment and she set me up for the following week (it was November at the time).Upon arrival I was slightly flustered because I could not initially find their location, but once I did I felt relived but still a little on edge, definitely not how I wanted to start out. When I entered the salon, there seemed to be no one there, the front desk was abandoned and there was no way to notify that I was there other than opening and closing the door again. A few minutes later after another customer had arrived, Margo came to the front and greeted us. The other customer was there for a follow up fitting with a dress they were already working on, I was there for an estimate. Immediately I was shown a dressing room and the other customer was placed outside of it to wait as well. This made me a little uncomfortable and more flustered as I wasnt offered any help into my dress ( a large strapless a-line dress with a fairly full skirt) and I didnt like that this stranger, though seemed very nice, was just there waiting for me. I then had to put my shoes on myself to make sure the length was okay, again no assistance and the anxiety rose. After I was changed into the dress, Margo and her assistant went to help the other woman and I was left with the seamstress who was so very sweet but did not speak English very well and when I tried to tell her what I wanted she had trouble understanding me, but I want to reiterate how sweet she was and helped as much as she could with what I wanted/needed. I felt like I was not important at all and was just so flustered and overwhelmed from the whole experience. The actual assistant did not come to help me until the seamstress was done to write down everything she had pinned on my dress and then told me I could go ahead and get changed. Again, I was on my own and then I waited for about 5 minutes until she was back again from helping the other customer. I just had such a bad feeling in my stomach from the experience overall I knew I would not be continuing with them most likely, but what really sealed the deal came when they told me the price and their attitude towards me after. The assistant gave me the price, around $700 for bustle, taking in the bust and taking in the waist ( I believe that was it) and I let her know I was going to go try another place before I decided. She then questioned So youre going to have to take the dress? and when I answered yes, she proceeded to tell me that this was standard pricing for what they quoted and that it would be the same anywhere, etc. Again after declining, she went to go get Margo, my first real interaction other than a greeting, I let her know I would be going somewhere else to get an estimate and she said Well I hope wherever you go doesnt ruin it. and We dont even want your dress until Feb. anyways, Im not sure why you brought it in so early, your body can change a lot before your wedding. These comments really sealed the deal I would not be coming back. When I first spoke to Margo to make my appointment, she was aware of my wedding date, and still recommended me for an appointment for November. I understand (I think) where she was coming from but I think her comments could have been said in a different way, that may have convinced me to consider returning. I then paid a $50 consultation fee and left.I wish my experience could have been like so many others that have left reviews. I waited until now to really reflect on this experience and give my honest review.** Ending up going to a local tailor in Casa Linda Plaza (Hong Kong Tailor) and had my dress perfectly fitted for $140 and completed in 3 weeks. It was beautiful!

This place was horrible! 1st of all they told me to lose the weight that I wanted for my wedding and I came back a month later and I had lost 5 pounds so they did the alterations and I came back a week before my wedding and my dress swallowed me! they said I would owe additional money on top of the $866 I had already paid for alterations even though they were the ones who made it too big and let out too much this is their profession. Entirely way over priced and they didnt explain how much the alterations would be or everything I would need after I lost my weight! They added extra boning which was very unnecessary and charges a $150 for every single small alteration they do basically my alterations cost me as much as my dress did! Do not go here they are extremely rude and unprofessional!! Bottom line I didnt wear the wedding dress they did the alterations on I completely bought a new one for a fraction of the price that fit like a glove from Kimberlys in Tahlequah Oklahoma!

Hesitant brides...look no further. Margo is amazing! I took my dress to Maybe Sew in Carrollton based off a recommendation from another seamstress...and let me tell you, Leighanna messed everything up. My dress was only slightly too big and too long, and she altered it two sizes too small, and then told me that I had gained weight (absolutely NOT true) and it was my fault. After that traumatizing experience I was really hesitant to take my dress for alterations anywhere. Margo took the botched mess of my wedding gown and made it perfect. All alterations were under $500, and my Melissa Sweet Priscilla of Boston gown is stunning. Everything was done on time. The alterations shop is beautiful and Margo and her sister are charming.

I had very high hopes for Margot Alterations. She was extremely attentive and nice on my first visit – my sister and mother joined me at her Allen location (my parents’ house is just 5 minutes from her Allen store front). We then scheduled my next two appointments at her Deep Ellum location since I live in Fort Worth. At my second appointment, I called 20 minutes after our scheduled time and she assured me she was almost there. She called me back 10 minutes later telling me she was at the wrong location! I had to wait outside in my car for an hour for her to arrive. She proceeded ensure my mother and me she would be at the Deep Ellum location for our next appointment and made a “special note” on her calendar. At my third appointment, she was not there on time and I called her 10 minutes after our scheduled appointment. Her sister picked up and told me she was driving and would be there soon. 30 minutes later she was still not there. I called and it kept going straight to voicemail. As soon as I started to leave she called me laughing, saying she was in the wrong location again. At this point I was extremely frustrated. It takes me an hour to get to Deep Ellum, and vacation time had to be used to be there within her business hours. After flat out arguing with me about how these things happen sometimes, I reminded her she had already done this to me because she seemed to have forgotten about the previous incident. She was able to accommodate me with a Saturday appointment at her Allen location so I would not have to miss any more work. My dress ended up looking great! She did a last minute adjustment and sewed the top layer of lace onto the silk dress underneath so it would not separate as I walked. I thought that maybe all the headaches she gave me were worth it, not to mention the $866.00 I was charged for the work. Well.. right before I walked down the aisle.. my strap completely snapped off where it was sewn to size and was falling down, and the last minute stitching she did came apart as my dad was getting me ready to go. Thank goodness my aunt is really good with a needle and thread. She was able to do a temporary fix before BOTH straps snapped again after the ceremony. I had to change into my “send off” outfit about 30 minutes into my reception. I typically only write reviews if I have something good to say, but brides already have enough on their plate - and this just left a bad taste in my mouth.

Came in for a quote on a slight hem on an outer layer of lace and a bustle. I arrived at the Deep Ellum location and freaked out a bit when the door was locked. I knocked and waited then chose to call the number on the site but luckily someone opened the door. I was told a lady would be right with me. I waited a few minutes and was helped by a younger woman. Her attitude was horrible from the beginning. On my way in, the hanger broke for my dress. I asked if she had an extra hanger I could have and she looked at me like I was crazy and said she doubted they had any extra hangers. I was literally turned off after that but I still gave them a try. Anything I asked or said was literally a joke to them. I asked if they could adjust the length I needed from the waist instead of hemming from the bottom (which would require beading work), they both laughed at me, Margo and her assistant. Margo literally looked at my dress, without touching it and quoted me $300 for the bustle and 2 inches off one layer of my dress in the front. I immediately got dressed and left. It wasnt for me, they seemed too busy to care about a new customer coming through the door and their customer service skills were horrible! They acted like what I was asking for was way too much.I posted this same review on Yelp and received a message from Margo. Margo accused me of wanting too much, yet they still booked an appt with me. She also stated I had my dress for 4 years and thats why it broke.. um no. I just got it in July and never mentioned anything about my dress.BTW, I was able to have my alterations done, hem and a double french bustle in ONE week for only $100 dollars. This is from a reputable (4.8 wedding wire rating) seamstress in the area. If any brides would like a referral.. feel free to send me a msg. :)

Like most brides, its tough to trust such an expensive gown to an unknown tailor. I googled the best/top bridal alterations in DFW and got this place. After reading reviews, I decided to try her out. I dealt a lot more with Lisa (Margos sister), than Margo. Lisa was very courteous and tried to be relatable.I needed 2 gowns altered. Bridal gown just needed to have the bust taken in. 2nd gown needed to be hemmed up and fitted at the bust area as well. My first dress fitting, my bridal gown was tightened rather snugly and the 2nd gown did NOT have any alterations completed on it. I noticed during this time that the corset on my dress was protruding and asked if anything could be done. Margo safety-pinned this and said that they could cut it and the line should disappear. At the second dress fitting, the bridal gown remained unchanged. Margo claimed that she did not know what the safety-pin on the corset was for and said that she could not guarantee a good result on the wedding dress if she had to cut the corset ribs. My 2nd dress was completely altered (even though at the first dress fitting, they stated that the dress would not be cut until my final shoes were selected).Needless to say, I took both my dresses home that day. I ended up having to find a different alterations lady, who found out Margo messed up the seams on the back of my wedding gown and had stitched some things that should not have been stitched (at first it looked like my dress had been accidentally cut at the hip and sewn together).I would not recommend her for your bridal alterations.
