I was staying in Clarksville at an RV park while traveling south for the winter when my truck experienced what I thought was an alternator problem. C & S was recommended to me so I extended my stay and got an appointment the following Monday. My problem was diagnosed and repaired quickly that day and the rates were very reasonable. The lobby was the cleanest and most professional looking one I have ever seen in an auto repair facility. And what I could see of the work area looked to be equally organized and clean. Earl was so sincere and straight talking to my wife and me that we knew we had found a great place to trust with our truck. I may never have the chance to be a customer here again but I would definitely recommend them to others.

My son-in-law has his car towed here to be repaired. $80 for the tow. Because it was dirty inside and the battery was dead, he was told “We don’t work on these type of cars “. Um, that’s why need a repair shop. It’s not running correctly. It’s a work car! Tools, dirt, etc. Was it the Colorado tags because we just moved here? Is it because you judged a book by it’s cover? Are you busy enough that you can pick and choose? If so, that’s great! We won’t darken your doorstep again.

I have used this mechanic twice recently for 2 different vehicles. One vehicle the Dodge dealership couldn’t repair properly but C & S was able to diagnose my problem, fix it quickly, and it did not cost me a fortune. I have recommended them to several other family members because of their prompt service and great work. It’s hard to find mechanics that will not try to take advantage of you when you are looking to get your vehicle repaired. Many times you get told that things are needed on your vehicle that were not. Please call them to set up an appointment for your vehicle. You will not be disappointed with their work or service!.

Best mechanic in Clarksville, TN / Ft. Campbell area. I lived in Clarksville for almost 8 years and found was recommended to C&S by word-of-mouth. Doyle and his staff are extremely friendly and most important, THEY ARE HONEST, which is probably the best quality you can ask from a mechanic. First example, my wife car was making an odd sound. We took it to the dealership and they were going to charge of $600 to replace a part. That was pricey so we got a second opinion from C&S. They thought it was a completely different part and it would only cost of approximately $200. He replaced the part and the sound went away, saving me $400! Second example, I was about to drive my truck cross-country and wanted to get a thorough service since my truck was over 160,000 miles. C&S did a head-to-toe inspection and service of my truck, replacing belts, fluids, filters, etc. It cost me about $500 but he was honest to me in previous encounters so he had my trust. I pick the truck up and the next day driving down the road in town it sounded like the transmission fell onto the ground. I called Doyle and had my truck towed to his shop. It was Saturday and they were closed but Doyle called me back within an hour. He had my truck on a lift in his shop when the doors opened at 8 AM on Monday. His techs diagnosed the issue, one of the mechanics did not torque a bolt to required specifications. This is where C&S gained my loyalty forever. Doyle called me and owned his mechanics mistake. He told me he would repair the issues and fix any other issues that may have resulted from the mistake. He offered to pay for the tow truck and a rental car! (I didnt need either because it cost me nothing). But he is a small business owner and fully understands that his reputation is his business.

Doyle and his staff are the best. They determine the problem, give an estimate and let you know if something changes before they do the work. The waiting room is clean and comfortable. I would not trust anyone else to take care of my Lexus.

I payed a little bit less than what I was expecting, which was nice. I accidentally stripped a bolt trying to change my oil and they were able to fix it and change my oil with ease. I also noticed how personal they were with their regular customers. I rarely see that in businesses. This was my first time here and certainly wont be my last. Needed new brakes for my car that my son uses. Pads and New Rotors for the front. Drums, Shoes and Springs for the rear. Doyle was helpful in getting a ballpark estimate over the phone, setting an appointment, calling after estimating the exact job to authorize work, explaining the process and getting it done in less time than quoted. Doyle is a professional and the professional mechanics do great work. They were not the lowest estimate, but I can always trust them to do a job and do it right! Im sorry to read the unflattering review on here and feel compelled to give my personal experience. These guys know what they are doing and are fair and honest. I know my way around a car enough to know when Im being hustled and Im always skeptical of repair shops. But when my truck a/c went out a few years ago, C&S was the only shop able to help me THAT day. They got it fixed at a VERY reasonable price. Since then, Ive brought them my other vehicles when Ive had trouble. They have NEVER ripped me off. As a matter of fact, last year my car was running rough so I scheduled a tune up. They called me later to inform me that I did NOT need a tune up, my throttle body was dirty and simply needed cleaning... much, much cheaper than a tune up and it now runs like a top! Like I said, these guys are honest!

I have been doing business with Doyle and C&S for over 15 years. They are the most proficient, efficient, helpful and professional mechanics in town. I wont go anywhere else.

I have a 2016 Ford Explorer Limited. I put about 34,900 miles on my tuck a year. I started to have issues where the transmission shifts up and back down over and over while going up hill at 50 MPH or less. I took my vehicle to the local Ford dealership to have recall work performed. I asked them to look into the shifting issue while they had the vehicle. Three days and over $1,800.00 later the truck was still having the issues. In fact, my truck was returned to me with features broken that were previously working before the vehicle was dropped off at the Ford dealership. I was advised during my last visit to the dealership that my transmission needed to be replaced. They told me that replacing the transmission was the next step in the troubleshooting process. They quoting me $6,500.00 plus labor to replace the transmission.I did not feel comfortable trusting my vehicle with a dealership that has not performed very well. I ended up calling C&S and asked them to take a look. I was going out of town, so I told Doyle to take his time. Three days later I return to town and picked up my truck. Doyle told me that the spark plugs were really bad and the transmission fluid was awful looking. C&S replaced both the transmission fluid and the spark plugs. My vehicle now runs better than the day I got it (in 2016). Thank you C&S for an awesome job and awesome customer service.

I received superb professional service at an outstanding price. My 2007 Toyota Camry had only ever had to have the normal repair of brakes, new battery, and regular maintenance over the years. So, when it suddenly starting making a loud noise, I started researching auto repair shops reviews, etc.; C and S by far had the overall best reviews. So, I gave them a call. They diagnosed the problem, called with total cost, ordered part and fixed my car in less than 24 hours. I was back on the road Christmas shopping. Highly recommend C and S Auto Repair. I will not be going anywhere else even for an oil change.

These guys really know what theyre doing and they are very personable. Brought my Dodge Charger in to get the oil changed because it was running rough, and they had the problem identified and fixed in minutes (the last shop I went to used the wrong filter). Honestly this is the only shop I like to bring my cars to - never had a bad experience and they shoot you straight.

My son is in 101st at Fort Campbell, close to C&S Auto Repair. My son had a very bad engine misfire in his little Hundai sedan. I found C&S online, called them, and made an appointment for his car to be fixed. C&S found the problem, a bad coil to #1 spark plug. The repair was very affordable and was done that day. I have been a customer of C&S auto since 1994 and they are very honest and prompt.The mechanics well trained and do quality repair.I highly recommend them.

Theres a thief in the shop. I had collected change for years in the console. When my wife picked up our car maybe three-fourths of what I had collected was gone---any where from $60 to $100. To add insult to injury, the owner accused my wife of having left the car unlocked, which we would never do, especially at a garage overnight. A parking lot thief would have taken all of the change plus the golf clubs that were very visible in the back. The C&S thief took what they thought they could get away with, but got greedy. A console full about 6-8 inches deep with change had about an inch of change left after what was stolen. C&S may do good work but I would never go back there again nor would I recommend them to anyone.

Had a recent return visit for a problem I thought we had solved. Turns out that it was a defective part and new parts were put in at no charge under warranty. The work was completed exactly when promised and I received a complete explanation of what was done and why. Exactly the high quality service Ive always experienced at C&S.

Called and discussed the problem & was told to come on, that they could fix it the same day. When I arrived the guy at the desk said they couldn’t see me without an appt. when I told him what I was told on the phone he said he was the only guy who answers the phone. Basically was so condescending that I was about to rip him a new one when the phone rang & he answered it in the middle of our conversation and then proceeded to have a friendly chat with a buddy of his...I just turned and walked out. He shouted after me “what day do you want to bring in the car?” I kept on walking. He will never know how close he came to being dressed down.

This is by far the best mechanic shop. It was initially referred to us by our insurance as the only place in Clarksville with the expartise to work on my GL450. I continued using them due to their ethics. The owner displays a level of business ethics and efficiency that is unmatched by his competitors. They use a user friendly software to assist with appointment scheduling and auto reminders. The office is very clean and he provides light refreshments to customers. They work efficiently without compromising quality. This is truly an A+ establishment!!!

Monday April 18: My Mercedes convertible top stopped while in operation. Spoke to Doyle 3-4 times that day, first about the needed service and then also discussing how to transport the car with the top 1/2 up.Doyle said C&S has a lot of experience with European top issues. I brought it in that day. Doyle said there would be a diagnostic charge and would call me once they determined the needed repairs. Late the next day, when I hadnt heard anything, I called. Doyle says theyre working on the diagnostic. Two days later (Thursday) I was told they were still in the process and would be in touch. The following Monday I was told that the job was more involved than they were willing to commit to. Doyle said, We will have to take the parts off and order new parts, wait for them to come in and then do the repair and we really dont want to get into something that involved. I thought he was joking because, um, isnt that what car repair places do? But he was serious, stating they were too busy. Based on what Doyle told me, I replied that he should have told me up front that he might be in over his head. Doyle snapped back that maybe I was in over my head owning a Mercedes (apparently this is Doyles school girl tactic of insulting the customer). C&S had my car for 9 days and didnt Repair the top at all! Then, to justify their $348.37 bill, Doyle said Mercedes would have charged more to close the top. **** I took the car to Eurofix in Belle Meade. Before I got home from dropping the car off I was contacted and told what the problem was, what was needed to repair it, and ballpark figure on the cost. They ordered the part the same day and I had the car back in two days fully repaired, washed, tires Armor Alld, a $20 coupon for an oil change and they gave me a free rental car while they worked on my car! Doyle, I will be willing to upgrade this review if you would like to resolve this in a beneficial way. You have my number.

Dropped a car off there after hours one night and left my business card in the wiper of the car for them to call so I can tell them that I needed an alignment. Next day, they contacted me and told me they did not have availability for their alignment rack and their next availability would be exactly 7 days later. I told Doyle (Owner) that was fine, but then he said he didnt have room on his lot for it to wait. I had the feeling since he did not offer to make an appointment that he was too good for my business. Exactly 1 week later, I failed to act on getting the car off his lot, and I get a call from them saying they were going to charge storage fees. I asked them how come they wont offer to make an appointment and they only insisted they didnt have room on their lot for my car and when I get it then we can talk about an appointment. I spoke with Doyle once again to confirm that this is the service he intends to offer to a customer that clearly wants to do business with him, and while saying this wasnt what he intended to do, and he wanted to work on the car, he only further justified not making an appointment because I Dropped the car off in the rain and he had to piece the business card together to get my information and I told him I was going to come get it and didnt so thats why he hadnt offered to make an appointment. Very sketchy service.

I think I caught C&S on a bad day; arrived this morning impressed at the shop which was very clean and had many cars in the lot and in the bays(good sign)spoke to doyle about a brake job first thing he mentioned was will try to get to it today that he was hoping I would be there at 8:00 but I mentioned I am here at 8:45.They finally get the car on the rack to inspect at 11:00 then came back with diagnosis which car needed a part which had to be ordered and the earliest would be next Tuesday. Then mentioned I would probably have to purchase the whole assembly to get the bracket- I mentioned I know this bracket can be purchased separately- that caused doyle to get a little ill mentioning since you know more than meI called another shop they can have the part today and can work the job tomorrow at a cheaper rate.

This is the most dishonest shop I have ever seentook my 07 Tahoe in for service was told it probably needed an oil pressure switchthe owner told me the intake manifold had to be removed to replace this part they called me a few hours later said it was finished and asked if I had noticed my check engine light was on it was not on when I dropped it off I wasnt on when I dropped it off or before that was the first lie that got me concerned . they said they changed the oil pressure switch and changed the oil . when I picked up my truck I asked doyle whom I assume is the owner if the had to remove my intake if they put on a new gasket he said the gasket looked fine so they put it back ok so I paid .when I got home I opened the hood to find no sign of the intake ever being removedafter further inspection I noticed that the oil filter was also not changed it was the one I put on myself several months ago because the sticker on it was faded out and was not readable clearly was not installed that day .called back up there with my concerns and was told by mr doyle who was irate about my complaint he assured me my intake was removed because the switch he replaced was under it . he said bring it back next morning and he would prove it to mewent back this morning to hear his tech tell me he didnt have to remove the intake to change this part right in front of doyle who tried to act all surprised oh I didnt know he didnt have to remove the intake he said .then why did I pay for this ? and why did he tell me it had to be removed because it was under the intake perhaps mr doyle dosent know his own business I highly doubt it and if he was so surprised it wasnt removed then why the afternoon before when I asked if they put on a new intake gasket did he assure me mine was still good and they put it back on I asked him why he told me this if now he didnt know if it was removed or not sounds like someone is a liar and got caught up in it guess he didnt expect me to check the work he was wrong again .so anyway it was $355 he knew I had him on the intake manifold but all he would refund me is half the labor on the intake manifold which was $94 so im still out $260 for work that was never done on my vehicle ....THIS SHOP IS DISHONEST!!!! WELL SEE HOW INSULTED U ARE THEN MR DOYLE!!!!!took my truck immediately to another shop they saw no sign of any of this work being done and told me the intake never has to be removed to change oil pressure switchbut mr doyle said he has done 100 or more of them and has an 08 his self and it is a common thing with these . but when I had a complaint all of the sudden he says I just work up front im not a tech so now I have to spend more money to get this work done for real this time thanks a lot c&s they should change it to b&s
