Ate here a few months ago with some friends and absolutely loved it. Got this croissant sandwich with bacon and avocado and other things and it was absolutely amazing. Also got this really really good brownie with Reese’s Pieces in it. And some chips. We ate outside and they had a nice area to sit and eat. Also all the sandwiches are made fresh to order and have the best ingredients. I would definitely eat here again if I’m ever in the Charlottesville area. One of the best sandwich places I think I’ve ever been to. Highly recommend!!!

My husband and I stopped by here today to get couple of subs. He got the Ednam and I got the Ivy. 🥖 Was delicious 😋. Listen y’all, I grew up in NY, the place of subs and I can not recall one so crunchy! I would’ve paid just as much just to eat the bread!! They got some great side including an awesome potato and macaroni salad. Great place to stop by even if just passing through or wanting to sit outside during a nice weather like we did!

The sandwiches here are awesome! The problem is that so many people know, they are swamped; it can take a while (but you cant rush perfection.) The service us good, and regulars know the drill of waiting. The staff does a great job and have been very helpful to me. I return often, and having the Market app and card has paid off in spades!

Yep; Its a gas station. But its also one of the best sandwich shops in Charlottesville! If youre looking for a great sandwich at a good cost for the road or at work, this is the place to go. Try the Ednam, and you might wanna order for pickup; it can get busy there.

Yeah, it’s pretty good! I eat here all the time and my brother and I are religious adherents to their sandwiches. Soups pretty good too. If I was to say anything negative, it would be that it’s so popular orders can take a little while. But if you go in knowing that, the tremendous tastiness makes up for it.

Update: I heard back immediately from Sarah and she apologized and was quick to make it right! I have since gone back, gotten my favorite Farmington sub and felt like they truly cared about me as a customer, Wow! Ill continue to go there for their great subs! But also excellent customer service! Thanks!

I look forward to having my lunch from the market just about every Tuesday! I stop in the morning on my way into work and order a sandwich. I don’t know the lady’s name who makes it, but she makes it quickly and efficiently and always wishes me a good day when she hands it to me. And it’s ALWAYS delicious. The man at the cash register is the same. Friendly and positive. Makes me wish I worked out that way more often!

Very good sandwich but absurdly slow service. There were 6 people in the kitchen 5 were in the way and goofing around 1 was making sandwiches.

I like coming here before work because they have really great coffee and quick breakfast items. They have a really great lunch menu as well. I wish they were more strict about enforcement of wearing masks, as Ive been in several mornings where there are multiple customers who arent wearing them.

The staff is always friendly, no matter how busy they are! Food is always delicious; great quality and competitive prices. Whether you grab a Cobb salad, The Smokin’ hot sandwich, a box lunch, potato salad, a breakfast sandwich or muffin, a freshly brewed coffee...it’s all superb. I go out of my way to go here instead of, say, a 7-11 or something. It just improves my life a little bit to have friendly faces, a clean happy environment, and good food. I usually stop by after a long day of work and it helps me let go of the stresses of the day. Keep things awesome!

This place has some of the best sandwiches in town. My favorites are Yogaville (vegetarian) and Up to no good (beefy!). You can also configure them, so I add some onion, jalapeno, banana peppers, to spice it up a little. Its also a great option for a larger crowd - catering for my birthday from here worked great!

A signature sandwich from the Market is my worthy companion on a hike on Blue Ridge Parkway or Skyline Drive. A big, beautiful hike deserves a big, beautiful sandwich!

Bellair Market - wonderful sandwiches and terrific staff. Ive ordered for our Friday clinic days many ways over the past years - calling, faxing and more recently online. They have the greatest sandwiches and the most helpful staff. Kudos and happy holiday season to The Market at Bellair!

The sandwiches have always been great! However, the service USED to be great but I believe that’s changed. It seems cashiers now have no idea what’s available in the store (who trained them?!). When my son worked at Bellair it seemed there were much higher quality employees and they were well-trained. Now they also seem to be missing skills in verbal communication. In other words, they don’t greet the customer, thank the customer, or even respond to questions. If human interaction is going to be this bad, I’d prefer to have a robot where I get exactly what I expect.

Delicious sandwiches and great service!

Bellair is one of the only places I know of where you can strike up a conversation with someone you havent yet met and it not be awkward. I spoke with a couple late one afternoon who had stopped in while on a 5,000 mile road trip who said that they held their appetites on recommendation from friends in Richmond. You have to try Mannys authentic avocado salad with fresh cilantro!

Ive been going to The Market at Bellair since it opened! Why? Let me start with the wonderful people who work there. They arent employees, theyre my friends! Id list them all here by their first names, as they always greet me every morning by mine, but Id be afraid Id miss someone and Id feel awful if I did!! Always friendly, always with a smile (I can tell even through their masks).The best deli, custom made fresh sandwiches and so many other freshly made choices!Simply put: Charlottesvilles BEST! There is no competition.

Driving back to NY and needed some food to tide the family over. Found this amazing sandwich shop (yes, it happens to be in a Exxon gas station but don’t let they turn you off)! Honestly, some of the best sandwiches we have had. We had the Crozet (chicken salad was excellent), Edham and Earlysville. Ate outside at some bistro tables they had - we told our daughter if she goes to UVA we’ll be back here!

The Market is so much more than a gas station and convenience store, its a gourmet deli. Try their soups, the clam chowder is my favorite. Favorite sandwiches include the Ednam, the Jefferson, and the Hooville. The Market is a community staple and supports local organizations. Very excited to have one in the Ruckersville area now.

Every time I stop by Bel-Air for gas or lunch I’m always met with professional and friendly people. The store is always clean and the sandwiches are always on point. Definitely not your average gas station, it’s always one I’ll go out of my way to stop at and will recommend others to do the same!

I found The Market, when I was driving from Florida to Fredericksburg Va in 2017 the experience was wonderful back then. I couldnt remember the name, the thought of how delicious my food was kept coming to my mind.I Googled restaurants off 29 that was a gas station, looked at the pictures and there it was . I drove there from Fredericksburg Va last night to get me a sandwich. I walked in the aroma of a good deli hit me .I was definitely in the right place. I ordered my food, called my sister and order her a sandwich also. The staff was great!!! The food was excellent it was definitely worth the drive!!!! Thank you guys for everything!!!!

My friend Richard mentioned about the market here at Ivy and talked about the Manager, Food and the great service.I had to come by and experience it myself. Let me tell you I bought the EDNAM sandwich and added other ingredients and it was amazing! French roll was delicious!On another note the cashier had a great customer service and Savanah the Manager really knows how to motivate her team.I was here at their lunch rush and I saw an amazing assembly where they serve every customer with a great service and with a fast paced.Big kudos! Fantastic Customer Service. I am a student at UVA and I use the elevate meal program. One day the app did not line up with the closing hours of the store and I got there for it to be closed after I spend my credits on the order. A kind employee who was about to leave named Julie went back inside for me and got me a sandwich. Without her I would have not eaten dinner that night haha. Thank you!

I learned about “these sandwiches with this incredible mayo” from an employee in 1993 and really have no idea how many Jeffersons I’ve eaten over the years. Every sandwich has been consistently good. Great staff and great food! Best market in the country! Their sandwiches should be Michelin rated and the manager is awesome. I was looking through the bags of chips and she was like Not finding what youre looking for? And I told her about Herrs Jalapeño Poppers and lamented about their rarity. She said Hmm Herrs Jalapeño Poppers do sound good, let me see if I can get some Herrs Jalapeño Poppers here at the store. I thanked her and bought my Rivanna Sandwich with the delicious Cajun roast beef and BBQ vinaigrette etc and went about my day not expecting her to actually start selling Herrs Jalapeño Poppers at the Market. Well not two weeks later I was in the Market buying the excellent Farmington Sandwich with the smoked turkey and herb mayonnaise etc and was once again perusing the chip aisle and there they were! Herrs Jalapeño Poppers! What a blessing! Truly a gift to Charlottesville and the surrounding area!
