I don’t really shop at craft stores so I don’t have a comparison to make. The store was clean, well organized and spacious. Check out was easy. We were able to easily find what we were looking for. Would definitely come by for our craft and framing needs.

I love visiting this place! Even if Im there to get something in particular, I end up finding other great things! They have some beautiful Christmas wreaths out already too!

Excellent selection of colorful duct tape.

I went to an art class there. Had a blast swirling paint around a canvas. The instructor was funny. She just sorta let us, there were 3 others in my group, do our thing. We were rowdy enough to draw other customers to the table and they started to paint as well. Good fun

This is a great store but giving 1 start because the public restrooms have been closed for 2 years.

A bit on the small side but the employees are incredibly nice and helpful. Generally well stocked, but covid has been a bit rough on them. Not unlikely to see empty shelves but precovid that wasent case.

I have ordered boxes of all sizes that are well made.They stock fish bowl size glass, notepad bundles and on supplies theyre similar to Benjamin Franklin I use to go to in Henrico.I cant complain since certainly extensively stocked.

Jen was very excited about helping us with our framing project. She knows everything about that store..all of the associates were calling here to ask about things...possibly they should get to know the store as well as she does.

Recently did a “same day delivery” with this store, and the third party system that is enlisted to pick up the orders messed everything up. after a long day of trying to figure everything out with customer service, I got a call from the store, and Elaine offered to drop it off herself! this store & the people that work there made a long stressful day so much better with their kindness!

Michaels is an awesome store, super stoked they had mason jars available too even after the recent shortage, so kudos and bonus. Plus they always have 20-25% off coupons so your order is always less than you think. Definitely the place to stop for art supplies and crafting goodies!

I really like this store. They have a beautiful layout with the wreaths on display downstairs when you walk in. Then the escalator ride upstairs feels so nostalgic. I visited early this morning. But the store was stocked with goodies and the staff was friendly. Ill definitely be back!

Having to get wire and hooks attached to art work was a last minute priority. I walked into the Art area at Michaels, and the gentleman took the order and had the hooks and wire attached in 15 minutes (probably less but I was shopping) and was waiting for me to pick them up. What great service! Thank you for the excellent customer service.

Its basically a toy store for creators.

Michaels is filled with supplies for a wide variety of crafting hobbies (except fabric) and DIY home decor, as well as a full service frame shop. As an educator, I enjoy a special discount that helps me keep my supplies stocked. Be sure to ask about their discount programs so that your crafting dollars can stretch a bit further.

Micheals is my go-to place for basic crafting supplies.

Clean, easy to locate what we were looking for

There are some amazing deals for winter!! Also they offer military discount. Some prices are a little high but thats at every Michaels. Try shopping with coupons and look out for discount days.

Great, clean, organized... But the arent letting customers use the restrooms... I had to cut my shopping short. Amazing, shortsidedness, their not being able to accommodate customers with disabilities...

The store had many empty or depleted shelves. Employee I asked for help looked at me and walked away. When I asked her again for help to verify if an item was on sale and its price (since all the self scanners were missing) she literally told me to read the sign. Even my 5 yr commented on her rudeness.

Good store for little crafts projects, features an escalator!

There are no local art supply stores in town anymore. Of the corporate chains, Michaels has a broad selection, offers classes and does framing.

Supplies are low but still can find most of what you need. Staff ok. Sales come in handy.

Good selection, try to look for sale items

I don’t know why but I feel so bad for doing this but everyone needs to know! Today I shopped at the store and found a few items! They were for my wedding! The cashier was a bit rude and seemed irritated that my debit card was declined. I explained that I would have to hold the items and come back shortly! I did and she wasn’t professional but she rang my items never thanked me. Just thought I would point out this!

I have not been here for quite awhile. They have some good sales and good stock. The store is clean and well lit. The employees are friendly and helpful.

Well, first of all, there is a big area you look at before hand. Then you walk into a magical wonderland of elevators, escalators, and even wreathsMy daughter, Kaylee and I went to the second floor to check out some interesting things. Packed full of excitement and entertainment. She wanted to see art supplies first, everything was so organized and workers and customers were very kindWe couldnt find pencils which is my only complaintBut, would highly recommend if you are in Charlottesville and want to give yourself and kids a treat!

If I could leave a 0 I would. I placed an order in March. They sent something completely unrelated. I have tried various methods of contact to get someone to help but all Michaels does is send me another case number. No one will contact me to resolve this issue. I would really like to receive my order or my money back. Michaels seems to be keeping both! So Frustrating and disappointing to be cheated this way.

The staff here are nice and theres a good variety of craft and art supplies. I was able to find a candlemaking item I needed last minute.However, they always seem understocked in a hit or miss fashion.Also its not the most accessible place- escalators up into the store with one elevator that is occasionally out of order, and seems a little undermaintained in general. If you have mobility issues this place is going to be hit or miss for you.

Everyone that I encountered in this location was both helpful and personable. I didnt even realize that this location was here. I was happy to find it, and I will return.

Not expensive. But the quality is pretty good. Plus they have an escalator. So you dont have to climb stairs with a bunch of shopping bags.

Good selection but I asked if they had a motorized shopping cart. I reported that I didnt think I was strong enough to push the wheel chair (cancer) and got the equivalent of a shoulder shrug for a reaction. I understand they dont have a cart. That is expensive. Great customer service and retention is cheap...how can we help you with shopping today. I only needed two items and knowing where they were would have saved some painful steps and told me they cared. I always trained sales and service reps to listen. Each customer has a need or desire and a reps job is to first discover that need, then make every reason effort to fulfill that need. Otherwise, when sales are down, it is too late to think about those customers who never came back.

I love this store. I find everything i need for my diys and others crafts. This year the fairy garden selection was great. Love when they have there sales. Racked up on scrapbook pages as well.

Their framing department is incredibly mismanaged and even the employees will tell you they’re not trained and don’t know what they’re doing. They’ve had my art for over three weeks, and can’t manage to get it finished correctly. When I brought it up, all I got was a “people are sick and we’re understaffed and there’s nothing I can do about it”, from the assistant manager. She promised the fastest results, yet ended up with the longest turn around time. Very unimpressed.

The manager had to be asked to put her mask on. There were no wipes available for the carts. Credit card machine was full contact. When I asked for sanitizer, the clerk took some OUT OF HER PURSE to help me. Michaels isnt even providing their workers with ahnd sanitizer?? So much no.

Tons of crafting materials. Something is always on sale. Now they carry great home decor as well.

Start time at this McDonalds in my last chicken sandwich so dry that I dont even think the bird will pick at it sausage egg and cheese was okay but had been setting for a while as well Merry Christmas to everybody

Store cluttered due to so much merchandise. Customers running in to each other trying to avoid knocking over items or into shelves. Overall, its a good place to shop for crafts.

Aaron Framers inside store are highly competent, easy to work with, show you resultz on computer of your pictures with different frames, and very reasonably priced

Huge arts and crafts store. Lots of things no matter what you like to do. I definitely recommend you stop by here for all your craft needs plus a little extra.

I really like this place but they dont always have what I want which is awesome to have other places like AC Moore. They usually have what I need when Michael doesnt

The customer service is not the best. And I dont like how management talk to the employees. But I like shopping there obviously for the products.

If you like craft, this is the paradise!! They have everything you might need for crafting (except fabric.. this is not their thing) and also have great deals. A good thing to know is that frequently they offer coupons up to 40% off (if you subscribe in their website or after you make a purchase).

Usually has a pretty good deal on items Im shopping for in the paint department such as canvases. The staff is friendly and helpful. Weekly coupons make the in store shopping not much more than online a times.

Great place to pick up art supplies and home decorating ideas

Had a Revolutionary War print framed at 70% off ($96). Had another framed at AC Moore for $150. Same size, same glass. AC Moore had advertised 80% off but the cashier said that they only gave 60% even when I showed her the ad. Do the math, Michaels has my business.

They have a great selection of materials for any craft you have in mind. The store has been around for a long time, and always is stocked up from the latest art supplies to the trendiest fabrics.

Michaels has the best deals on frames, I was able to get 4 frames for less than $35. I’ll continue to come here for my framing needs.
