For having such godd reviews I was pretty shocked how bad it was. $10 for a breakfast sandwich is fine but when its a store bought Croissant frozen microwave eggs patty you get at a free hotel buffet and precooked fast food bacon.... Its not ok. Pretty sure all the food is bought pre maid. Nothing looked tasted or smelled fresh. Also leaking ceiling, not very clean bathrooms and not that great of service....all which can be overlooked with great food this wasnt. It was $70 of bad food.

Busy little place when we got there. The young red headed girl behind the counter was running the place essentially by herself and did an amazing job coordinating orders and tasks to maximize efficiency. She was cool as a cucumber. Very impressive and should be employee of the month or year in my opinion. On top of that the coffee and bakery offering were absolutely delicious. Will definitely revisit next time we are in town.

This cafe has yummy baked goods, but the coffee left a lot to be desired. My latte was over sweet, and my partners hot coffee lacked flavor. It was full with limited indoor and outdoor seating. The layout was not optimized to the flow of customers that persisted while i was there. Skip this cafe and go somewhere better in town.

After visiting the Sistine chapel exhibit downtown some friends and I stopped at this cafe to eat. It was very good I had the bechamel sandwich with an egg on top. It was very extravagant and was delicious. A friend of mine bought a pastry and it looked delectable. You order at the counter and then they call your name for you to come and pick it up. It was a quaint little place. Not a lot of room inside. But a perfect place to grab a bite to eat. My only complaint would be that we had to use plastic utensils and the utensils were not up for the job they were totally bent out of shape by the time I cut through the sandwich. Actual silverware would have been much better.

I’ve been debating if I should leave this comment or not. Well, I decided to do it. We got to Charleston a day ago and my boyfriend and I were craving crepes. This place was a suggestion in the area and we decided to try it out. We got there in the morning for “a dark chocolate, coconut sauce and strawberry crepe” and a market crepe (savory one). I wrote all the ingredients of the sweet crepe because the coconut flavor was missing entirely, I suspect it was forgotten and the dark chocolate was just a touch of it. Probably one of the lamest crepe I had! The savory crepe was dry as well. Not convinced we went to the right place! The cashier was very nice and helpful, but the food let us down...

Just know that when the menu states a drizzle of chocolate sauce it means a flood of chocolate sauce. Also they neglected to give us the coffee we ordered and paid for. So the banana strawberry crepe was tossed, coffee never received and this place definitely falls terribly short of the bar set from the reviews.

Cafe framboise, so named one must assume, from the terrible pink accent wall you are greeted with. Decor is mostly gimmicky with some local art to round out the mismatched aesthetic. The chocolate twist was well made but then microwaved. What should have been a delicate and sweet French delight was more of a gas station grab item. The espresso was strong but in a plastic cup, for sit in at a French Cafe I would hope for porcelain, but again let down. I write this still waiting for a croque madam .. its been 23 minutes. If youve ever been to the continent of Europe, stay away from here.Edit: The food is redeeming, so if you can get it delivered. Let the food transport you to a place far from this college student trap.

Couldn’t be more disappointed with our experience. The refrigerated section was hot—leading to hot bottled water and curdled yogurt in the parfait. They kindly said they would make me a new parfait. I could see them pulling back several lids of yogurt you get from the grocery store. Five minutes later they told me they didn’t have the ingredients, presumably because all the yogurt was bad. I asked for a smoothie instead, but was told they had no strawberries. I asked for a crepe instead, waited about 30 minutes for the crepe. My three girlfriends also got crepes and they were all burnt. I went back inside to let them know I was displeased and couldn’t wait any longer. They were all standing absentmindedly and only said OK-have a nice day very rudely. No apology. I’m generally very understanding, but COVID is certainly not an excuse for this type of customer service. I wouldn’t advise going here.

3.2 I had the chicken, tomato, pesto sandwich and it was poorly prepared. Almost diced chicken and bunched in the middle of the sandwich along with the tomatos stacked so the ends of the sandwich were empty. The lettuce was those skinny long yellow end pieces that you throw in the compost immediately after cutting your lettuce. Coffee was lukewarm. Running the food instead of the beepers might be better than the current system bc when it beeped the food wasnt ready so I grabbed my warm coffee and sat down. The waiter came to us to let us know our food was sitting there.

There is not enough I can say about the experience my Husband and I had at Cafe Framboise on Labor Day. We were nervous with it being the Holiday that our visit would be rushed and not appreciated, but boy were we wrong! Not only did we feel welcomed, the food was by far the best! My husband had quiche Lorraine, which had both ham and bacon along with Swiss. He was nervous since he’s not used to quiche, but it was definitely tasty! I had the spinach and goat cheese quiche. Now let me say that I am picky about goat cheese. I know that sounds snobby but you always know when you can taste cheap goat cheese, but again I was quite surprised. We both wanted something sweet but didn’t want to fee the guilt afterwards, so we both shared the dark chocolate crepe. It not only had the chocolate we were craving but it has coconut and strawberries. So of course we didn’t feel so guilty since it had fruit. We will definitely be coming back!

One of my favorite spots. However five past 2 today they refused to sell me take out pastry because they close at two. Every inside table was still full. (not just 2)In this Covid environment I’m surprised that the staff can’t see the importance of maybe selling some takeout past after closing time. We understood the kitchen was closed and my guess is the pastries get thrown out. Barring that being polite about it is perhaps the most important thing the staff could do.Update- Owners response is appreciated - the worst part is that it sounds like the owner was there. Unfortunately they now have serious competition with La Patiserie and Cafe Du Monde. My average check is $26 for take away pastries and have been loyal Sunday customers for years. Au revoir!

Overall: Unfortunately unorganized and chaotic, this local cafe has the potential to be something better. The good: They have some great sounding options, but I went with the plain market sandwich. The eggs were fluffy and the bacon and cheddar were a good pairing (of course). The crossiant as the sandwich bun was great as well and was flaky and buttery. The not-so-good: During COVID, this place was a nightmare. Cramped, unorganized, people standing everywhere waiting for their meals. There was no queue and not a lot of seating to begin with, and because it was raining not a lot of people were sitting outside. Some of the prices are a bit high for the quality of the food. To top it off, the coffee wasnt goodFood/drink: 8/10Atmosphere: 6/10Service: 6/10
