First time in my life going to an OfficeMax to have a fax sent and being told its self serve. What are the employees paid to do?On top of it being self serve there is only one machine used for self serve copying, scans, faxes, and prints. Thats beyond messed up for customers cause like today there was a lady using the machine to scan page by page of an atlas. Waited over 30 minutes and she was still scanning away spending more on copys then the price of the atlas itself. I went next door to Hyvee and got my fax sent for $1 in less than 3 minutes. This location is a joke for people that need things done in a timely manner.

Customer service is my number one qualifier for my satisfaction with a business. Prices could be higher or quality could be lower... but if the customer service is better then that is the store I go with. While Staples by Westdale is much closer to my home (a 4 minute drive vs a 12 minute drive) and selection and prices are about equal, the customer service at OfficeMax by Lyndale is far superior. The staff are friendly and helpful. Especially that manager Lori. She earned my business by going above and beyond to make my trip worth while.My experience started off not so great. I asked for an office chair (from the Shaq collection, which is awesome by the way) and was helped to the front and once paid for a staff member loaded my car up for me and I was on my way. However, as I was assembling the chair I noticed that it was actually the wrong chair from the Shaq collection, I think the box was stocked wrong. I was very frustrated because I have a bad back and had to get help to get the chair from my van to my office, now I had to put the chair back and ask for help loading it back into the van.I drove the chair back and once I entered the store I immediately asked for a manager. The register clerk (an older man) was friendly and asked for Lori with a smile (just that act, the smile, made my day a bit better). When Lori came out I explained the situation and she was ON IT! She had a staff member (Mike, also very helpful) unload the wrong chair and load up the correct one in my van. She helped the register clerk ring up the exchange, she apologized with grace and authority, she did everything in her power to make it right. At no point did I feel like I was inconveniencing her day (I feel that way often at staples). I was in and out in minutes and praise God for such a great experience.As I left I let Lori know that OfficeMax won a customer that day.

I went into Office Max in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, looking for a small notebook, address book or something to store all my passwords in. The first guy I talked to pointed me to a couple of different places to look, he really wasn’t much help. As I was getting close to leaving, not being able to find what I wanted, Dave approached me, saying he had over heard what I was needing. He told me he thought he knew of something that might fulfill my need. He told me to wait and he went scurrying off and in a couple of minutes came back with exactly what I was looking for. This would have been a 5-star review if I only had to deal with Dave. Thanks again Dave, you’re awesome!

Pretty good overall, and one of the only places to get off of supplies around here. I wish they carried a larger selection of high-quality stationary, but what they have is okay. Five stars because their cashier was extremely friendly even though I wasnt particularly in the mood to be chatty that day, and they did have what I was looking for. Ill be back, mostly because its convenient, but its a good place.

A simple 2-sided to 2-sided color copy took 45 mins and two visits. Upside-down printing, same page both sides (twice!), etc was my experience here. Even after I received the correctly finished copy, I had to ask for the original, which was left in the copier after they were finished. Granted, one worker was a trainee, but I could have done better just doing self-serve printing.

I needed to get a new computer after a spilt pop on mine (whoops) and had called for some help and the gentleman I spoke with went and got a computer for me and had it held until I could come in that night. The manager that helped me that night was SO helpful as well. He went above and beyond to make sure I had what I needed for school. He was very knowledgeable as well. Service was AMAZING.

This a great store! We bought two new cordless phones with fantastic features.The best feature is the ability to blockUnwanted callers!! Now we can see whois calling and we can answer or selectblock caller. The number of unwanted callshas dropped to nearly zero.

Its clear why they are out of business in so many cities. Customer service is 0...walked around maybe twenty minutes and not one person approached me. Didnt have anything in stock that I was searching for, well of course I couldnt ask anyone about it either. Such a sad waste of time. The only thing I can comment with thumbs up on, is the displays. And the xmas present suggestions. Those are cool.12.6.19 -Its been about 3 weeks, almost 4, since OfficeMax/depot asked me to send them my information to make things right. I sent what was asked to the email address provided, but, get ready for it..., NOT ONE PEEP. They dont even care. Why even attempt?

I have to give a 3 to the store but I would give a 4 to the printing employee who was doing what she should have been doing giving the customer before me her undivided attention. Well done. My print job is correct and done on time. That said the store gets a 3. I sent my print job online and paid through paypal in order to save time and not have to stand in line. I have diabetes and my feet were really bothering me tonight. There was no chair available so I stood for a total of about 20 minutes to pick up the print job, there was no one else available in printing who could have simply checked me out. When she was able to provide me my copy she was not able to finish the sale because her drawer had already been cashed out. I had to go stand in another line at the front of the store. This added another 5-8 minutes of standing to my visit, 4 customers deep with 1 cashier at closing time. Finally at 8:55 pm a second cashier came up to help the last 1 family/customer (who was before me at the print shop). With the exception of the print employee who was professional and helpful the employees appeared to have been sucking on lemons all afternoon. Customer #4 behind me was so disgusted she set her product down and left the store. Im very disappointed with the management who did not have adequate staff available or cross trained to assist in checking everyone through. Last time I checked I am paying you for a service; you dont pay me for the honor of gracing your location. This has been one of my favorite print shops for years but I will have to revisit the competition. Again, the employee working the print shop was professional and friendly and taking care of customers. I saw her come up to the front when we were all waiting and I think she would have gladly helped check everyone through given the authority. Teamwork people. The money from those sales pays your salary.

It took 50 minutes to get photos printed from a dedicated copy technician. No one was in line ahead of us, it was evidently just that hard to click through the print dialog settings on a computer. The woman in line behind us had regular black and white copies that she needed that “would have to be put off until Monday” because 20 minutes was not enough time for the copy tech to figure out the primary function of the copy machine. If you would like to spend as much time as humanly possible paying for copies, look no further!

Ive always been a fan of all Office stores. You can find some great deals when items are on clearance or put on special. Theyre not nearly as pushy about the service plans, and are usually very competitively priced.

I received great service here when I was purchasing a printer. An employee, MJ, helped me browse my options and determine which would be best suited to my needs. He was knowledgeable about the warranties offered, and helped me make an OfficeDepot profile (free) in-store so I could immediately receive some savings on my purchase.

The staff is spread pretty thin, even with the holidays. 10+ people in line and only one checkout lane. Then the older gentlemen, the customer service manager or so, walks up with his customer, opens a new lane just to sell that customer a printer and the extended warranty. THEN HE JUST LEAVES, did not ring out a single one of us. How can you be a customer service manager and know nothing about customer service. I would rather drive the extra mileage to go to staples where you are treated with some respectEdit: changed to 3 stars as the employee mentioned no longer works there and it seems things have changed. The initial review was for early 2018.

Ordered A Desk online and didnt see anything about a 5 day pickup, wanted to pick up the next day and got told no, had to pick up on Monday, not on Tuesday or they would return the order, so I had to drive home 45 miles from work get my truck and drive back so an extra 90 miles to be driven and manager didnt care.
